Bourbon

Another solid release from Bath & Body works and it's currently my favorite from the house !!! Although I still really like Noir,Paris and Alpine Suede. This to me smells like a more dark,woody type of soap that you might come across in a more upscale hotel. Actually last year when I was on vacation in VA Beach there was a soap called Aromatic Woods by THann that smelled very similar to this and upon smelling it those few days I always would tell my girlfriend I wish I could find a cologne that smelled like this body wash. So needless to say I was very pleased when I purchased this. Bourbon is a very linear scent and there's really not much progression so what you smell in the opening is pretty much what your going to get for the duration of the scent. One thing I don't like about this product is the name as this isn't really a boozy scent but again a darker,woody soapy type of scent so if you wanted a boozy scent I'd advise looking elsewhere. Performance on this is really good for such an inexpensive scent as this projects above average for 2 hours and then leaves a good scent bubble off your skin for the rest of the scent life. This lasts on my skin 10-16 hours and that is no exaggeration. I put this on before bed @ 7 PM woke up the next day and even @ 10 AM when I worked out this was still projecting moderately!!! Overall rating--- 8 out of 10 ! Amazing scent for daily wear,all seasons with a really good price point and also awesome performance... Only thing holding it back is I love the scent but it's still not exactly 1 of top 5 faves Sidenote-- Great scent that can be used for all occasions and even though it's best for Fall/winter/ spring with light applications could be great for summer. For people only wanting 1-2 frags this could be a great signature scent !!!

So I'm basically my brothers' supplier for men's body care from BBW. Everytime there's a sale I rush to the store to buy them the lotions, colognes, and body sprays because I want them to smell good. I mean come on, if you're sister is a fragrance enthusiast you have to at least try to smell good. Anyways, this was the first one I ever bought my oldest brother and it's still my favorite until this day. There is an alluring sweetness from the amber that feels clean and warm. I can't get enough of this! I also think the performance is pretty great, especially for the price point. I'm also really picky when it comes to men's fragrance. Genuinely, they all smell way too strong for my nose, and truthfully, like middle-aged men. While that's totally fine, I'm grateful that BBW is catering to an audience of all ages with their fragrances. I think this is perfect for anyone who is a teenager or older, which is fantastic. I mean it when I say that this is probably my favorite men's cologne to ever exist. I know I will keep coming back to BBW to buy every new fragrance they release for men because man are they doing a great job!

One of the best fragrances I’ve purchased for under $30. The more I wear it the more I love it. It smells like a slightly soapy D&G The One. The sweetness of the amber is toned down a bit. Although this is not exactly a clone, but it is heavily inspired by The One. I know this is heresy, but I actually slightly prefer this over The One. The longevity last about 8-10 hours on my skin. Similarly to The One, the projection is weak. After an hour or so it sits close to the skin. I normally go light on the trigger with most fragrances - about 2-3 sprays. On this one I’d recommend 4-6 sprays. This is completely non-offensive and can be worn casually, at work, or on a date. It’s best suited for the colder months, but this could be worn in the spring or on a warm summer evening. Scent: 8.5 Longevity: 8 Projection: 5 Versatility: 9 Value: 9 Overall: 8 Would I buy it again? Yes.

This is probably the closest scent I've come across to D&G The One, without a doubt. I was afraid it would be too intense of a men's scent to use as a woman, but I have really been surprised how the Bath and Body Works Bourbon dries down from various products I've purchased. My favorite is the hand sanitizer because it's unlike any other scent they sell--it really does smell more clean, fresh, comforting than I expected! It also is a great scent if you want a spicer, fresher spin on car fragrance in their Scentportables. If you are a woman who tends to go toward the more spicy, rich, sexier scents, you will definitely enjoy this!

I’m new to fragrances and have only found ones from bath & body works that smell appealing to me. This one is my current favorite and the one I get the most compliments on. I have low self esteem and when I wear this people will ask who smells so good and I’m looking around trying to smell what they smell not thinking that they might be referring to me and as they get closer they exclaim that it is me that smells good. 10/10 would recommend to someone new like myself to fragrance.

dark purple/pinkish juice, like Joop Homme, and perhaps this will be discontinued also by B&B works, this isnt like the One from D&G, this is sweet, inoffensive, soft, kinda boozy,dry woodsy and ambery. lasting power is good, i am thinking fall would be a perfect time to rock it.it isnt a clone of anything i have smelled so far. im getting a little soapy vibe like bubbles in a bathtub while listening to relaxing music with a glass of red wine, nice fragrance 8/10 :)

My ex wore this cologne and I honestly couldn't forget the smell so I tried finding it the other day, smelt this and brought me back. Spicy, alluring, warm, and deeply masculine type of fragrance. I could smell this on him after his 10 hour+ shifts, and I noticed with time it got even better. Muskier and almost blended with his skin. I loved this smell as a woman and found it very attractive!

This came as a suggestion from a man and his wife who I had met briefly. I figured that since it was inexpensive it wouldn’t be too much of a gamble to get as a blind-buy. The smell to my nose is pleasant, more good than bad and masculine. It does, however, garner quite a few compliments from the ladies I come in contact with. Definitely worth it for the price.

It's my absolute favorite! I use the body cream because I can't handle the alcoholic scent that the BBW perfumes and body sprays have, so it doesn't last as long, which is unfortunate. The scent to me is sexy and spicy without being overpowering. Sometimes I like to layer with gourmand scents to amplify the sweet note and make it more androgynous.

In love with this cologne. Bath and Body is really slept on IMO and this is a prime example. Longevity might not be a strong suit but it has complex layers and a scent not many other colognes have. Somewhat reminiscent of their new Crafted Cognac fragrance which isn't listed on Fragrantica, but I highly recommend. 8.3/10

doesn't smell boozy at all like the name suggests. all i get is a kind of soft and generic masculine woody scent but still very pleasant. i would buy it if it smelled just a tad more unisex.

Absolutely love this on my husband! It's like a stereotypical cologne smell but very warm and soft, not sharp or pungent like many colognes are. Radiates well but doesn't last long.

I was looking for a scent that reminded me of old libraries. Strangely enough this fits the bill. It does not smell like bourbon. It smells like an old book, which I love.

A good scent from Bath and Body Works, among the best they've released in their men's collection along side Mahogany Woods, Twilight Woods, White Citrus, and the new Batch No. 24 Tonic. It opens with a unlabeled citrus, likely bergamot, and dries down to a amber-woodiness that is on the drier side. I get a little vanilla sweetness, and I see the said "pepper" note, but it isnt peppery more of a indiscreet cold spice that pairs well with the sweet powderiness. Lasts 4-6 hours and projects decent through the second hour. What intrigues me is the comparisons to D&G The One. I am currently doing a side by side comparison of Bourbon and The One EDP, and I see similarities but they are in no way the same fragrance or dupes: The One EDP is known for a bright opening with a hnt of grapefruit and a strong ginger that will then continue into the heart. The heart of the fragrance is this ginger blended with a smooth amber accord and a non-offensive damp tobacco and backed by hints of cardamom and, if you really sniff it, some white florals. This gives the ever so alluring bright-booziness that has made The One so successful. Bourbon is missing this booziness, which is ironic given the name. Bourbon takes the idea of The One, an amber for men with a bright-ish opening, and takes it a powdery route. Bourbon shares similarities with Prada L'homme, Opium Pour Homme (void spices), and D&G Intenso. Bourbon is a lighter, less dense and drier scent than The One, and trades out the tobacco for a powdery wood accord in the drydown. It is also missing the cardamom spice, which is apparent in the side by side, and replaces it with the cold spice that isn't pepper. Overall, Bourbon is a good scent. It hasd ecent performance for the price, and smells like a nice powdery amber with woody facets. It does bear similarity to The One by D&G but as time goes on will branch further and further way from the path of The One. If you want an amber scent that is drier and powdery good for work, go with Bourbon. If you want a more sensual, boozy amber good for casual or date night, go with The One EdP.

Bourbon opens masculine, but as it dries down it moves closer to unisex. As a woman, if you're comfortable outside of the fruity florals, this will work perfectly well. The bourbon in it is a boozy vanilla against a smooth woody base As long as you use the body lotion with it, it lasts all day and has just enough sillage. It doesn't fill a room but I catch whiffs as I move hours after I've applied it. It's a warm and cozy winter fragrance but even in summer it is not cloying or too much. It's not unique or groundbreaking but it's from Bath and Body Works. They do attractive, mass appealing, affordable scents so this is exactly what you're buying. It's a fantastic causal, throw on a sweater fragrance that doesn't cost a lot. I think it's under $40 Cdn for the cologne but definitely wait for the sales which are pretty much every other month. I really like it. Just make sure you get the body lotion with it. It makes all the difference in performance.

I just received a 100ml bottle as a gift from my wife. The comparisons to D&G The One are somewhat accurate, but I'd say this leans closer to Abercrombie Fierce. She just absolutely adores that Fierce DNA. She even bought me a bottle of Axe Apollo when we first started dating. Her interest in that formula led me to go through bottles of both Mont Blanc Legend and Fierce itself. Despite the comparisons, I'd say Bourbon is of a higher quality than the modern batches of Fierce. The scent is not a direct clone, but somewhere in between those and The One.

Safe and inoffensive. Packs more of a masculine punch than most B&BW scents. I'm surprised by how much I like this one. Yes, it's a mall cologne that won't help you stand out, but it's really good for the price and everyone will think you smell good. I'd describe it as a deep, slightly powdery woodsy scent. Modern and not particularly bold...but bold for bath & body works. Somewhat leathery. Not very boozy, in spite of the name. I like it! This would be a nice signature for a man of any age.

It's a simple, pleasant scent. Reminds me of sitting around a campfire. The strongest notes to my nose are the oak and the pepper, and they smell very authentic. It has good projection and longevity too. I recommend this one if you're looking for a cheap pepper and wood fragrance with decent longevity and projection! It would work well during the day or night in the colder seasons. The campfire smell that it has is really great for night time in the warmer seasons too.

Somewhat generic, but what sets it apart from the typical “cheap cologne” smell is a very woody sharpness. Since I like woody colognes, I like this! It’s worth the price point. You pay for what you get - a pleasant but not unique masculine smell. Another thing I like is that this is closer to the skin than most colognes. If I can smell your cologne in the stairwell from 10 feet away, you’re doing something wrong. This is simply entirely inoffensive.

I really don't know why they named it Bourbon, it has nothing to do with bourbon. I get a very clean slightly woody scent, very nice scent not offensive, easy wearing cologne that last 6 plus hours. For a cologne to only cost 35 dollars and most of the time you can find coupons for cheaper you get a great bargin, I'll be back bath & body works to get the other cologne. Rating 7 out 10

not the biggest fan of uber-masculine perfumes like b&bw usually sells, but this one is nice. the initial spray is very fresh-spicy, but it dries down to have a pretty amber note. the name is misleading, though. i guess it has the warm-amberness of bourbon, but absolutely no booziness. disappointed, but still a good perfume. 7/10 (+6 for decent quality, +1 for rich amber note)

Agreeing with other reviewers in that upon application I get the "lipstick" vibe we've smelled before in Dior offerings. Combine D&G The One in the drydown and you get this one. Not groundbreaking but not terrible either. Great choice if you get a gift card to Bath & Body Works. To me, similar scent Villain is a bit better in terms of price and performance.

My first cologne ever. Bought it because it was at the mall and cheap. I got many compliments with this and really no complaints. Its longevity and projection are moderate, but that's to be expected of course. Typical masculine scent that's quite linear. This will always hold a special place in my heart and is great for gifts, and a safe blind-buy.

This was my first cologne that I've ever bought, but it's not quite me. I've gotten a few compliments on it when I wore it but I never really thought it worked well on my skin. It's not my favorite, but it definitely smells good on other people. Very agreeable and warm scent, good for cold nights.

The bourbon is faint. I get more vanilla and musk. I use the entire “experience”...body wash , cream, lotion, body spray and cologne. I put it on over 12hours ago and it still presents well. A heavy fragrance best suited for cool/ cold weather.

An easy choice daily wear perfume. Manly, and yet not very overwhelming. Casual aroma, which isn't a bad thing, but can get over easily bored. Is probably would have chosen a 50 ml bottle is I had a choice.

Smells like Missoni Wave or Versace Pour Homme. I would say better version of Missoni wave just Minus ➖ the eggy wibe from it. Smells good moderate 3 to 4hr longevity

Get the body spray. Amazing and underrated. Very easy to wear and even better for night and colder weather.

Bourbon is strong, spicy, and warm. Very classically masculine cologne. When I really breathe it in, I get this aroma of cinnamon christmas cookies: a kind of hidden sweetness that doesn't initially rise above the very woody, very amber notes. Bourbon is one of those fragrances I might find rather appealing on someone else, but I don't see myself wearing it on its own very often (even though I love a masculine scent!). I will say that if you layer this with BBW Noir, you can lighten it up and get this musky-yet-clean leathery kind of smell that I think is more intriguing (if you're not deterred by some added sharpness, that is).

While this fragrance doesn't smell bad by any means, I think it's my least favorite of my little collection. It smells very linear and predictable for a stereotypical men's fragrance. Does not really smell like bourbon to me, but rather just a woody fragrance with a touch of amber and pepper on the top. Performance is okay, and sillage is decent. It smells nice, but for around $40 USD I think there are much better options available. This was my first fragrance and at the time I was impressed with it, but now that my nose has developed it just leaves me wanting better options.

This is nice, but I actually had hoped it would be boozier, headier and heavier. In fact, I wish it was boozy at all. I don't smell much in the way of liquor, and it's definitely not a bad cheapy, but this doesn't live up to the note pyramid. I get that B&BW is family and all, but I do wish it smelled more adult and true to its name. However, it is pleasant. It's essentially a mild, slightly masculine (I'd probably wear it though) neo-amber with some indistinct woods.

So yeah, bourbon vanilla cocktail with just enough syrup, slightly sweet spice notes, served in a recently renovated bar with a new wooden counter that smells of lavender aka Something your uncle or a car rental rep would spray on him. 3/5 because it's OK, is manly, has a couple of layers and it stays. Free from dyes! Edit 1: Catching bits of an Iris accord within a few minutes.

Weak. Sits really close to the skin and lasts about 30 minutes. Smells really good though, but performance is really horrible. I wouldn't buy it again.

I initially purchased this because I really like this scent on my male friend. But after I bought it I found it really nauseating. I think the scent is very masculine, which I dislike, and it is a very typical men’s cologne smell. I think it’s not a bad scent as it is a great starter scent as opposed to CK One and it is affordable and accessible as well. It smells sexy on a man, very manly. I would say it smells like a Zara perfume, an acceptable decent starter perfume. Just not a big fan myself.

Fake news! As Trump would say. Not even a smidgen of bourbon. Totally fake. It's got a sweet/spicy feel that reminds me of Boss Bottled. Not a clone but in the same wheelhouse. The ambergris makes this a joke. If you are on a super tight budget then I guess it's okay but I am sure that if you do some shopping around that you can find better. COVFEFE for all the Stephen Colbert fans!

Cheap smelling. This doesn't even smell as good as some drug store brands! Bath and Body works has gone very cheap. It is sad because I used to enjoy shopping in this store but if this is the type of cologne for men they are putting out I will not be buying any for my man. I would not want my husband to smell like any of these I sampled today.

There's nothing remotely boozy about this fragrance, it doesn't smell like bourbon or scotch or whiskey. It just smells of nondescript sugary water, lazy, dull and cheap. Like a ton of other cheap mall store fragrances, including a few by B&BW themselves. No character or personality whatsoever.

Powdery tonka bean bomb, not much to it. Pretty simple and boring. Performance is weak. You can skip it.

You're getting what you pay for here - a cheap fragrance that lasts an hour or two at best. You'd really be better off spending a little more on something that will last you three or four times as long and smell way better in the process. This is what I imagine when I think of default cheap cologne.

Luckily I sampled this before buying. To me it smells like Joop Homme with a touch of wood and a touch of alcohol. Certainly not Prada. Certainly not D&G. Certainly not a fan of this.

Bourbon smells nothing like bourbon as other reviewers have correctly stated but this is still a really good easy to wear cologne for men. The color of the liquid is not to my liking and in fact reminds me of Joop!Homme which I can't stand but this is a very basic for novices kind of scent. I don't believe it's selling at Bath and Body Works certainly not my local one. I had to buy it online on eBay based on the reviews on this page. Bourbon opens with a black pepper spice note with a hint of musk somewhere there, and nothing about it is remotely unisex or slightly feminine. It comes on strong and masculine with dark spices followed by some cedar woods and finally dries into an amber note. This is linear and not very long lasting despite it's strength. Sure they threw in some strong formulaic notes that are found in other men's colognes that last longer and have the top-middle-base note structure but this one falls flat after only an hour or two, sometimes less. I would have advertised this cologne as a body spray (like Axe Body Spray) and not a cologne. Like I said, very easy to wear. Something to put on daily if you're not into cologne or have no time to decide on what colognes to wear after you shower and dress. Good for starting your morning, office-friendly, not offensive to anyone noses. Very practical and functional. This is not making any kind of statement. It's not sexy, not a chic magnet panty dropper, not a night club or date night cologne. It's definitely day time casual or day time business wear. This is a scent I can wear anywhere and any time but it's not really the kind of cologne I go for. I would also say that while it doesn't cross gender lines, it does cross age groups and both young or older males can sport this thing. Thanks Bath & Body Works I'll Be Back! Stephen Bozer

Bourbon by Bath and Body Works, is a really nice fragrance. It was one of the first five fragrances from the 2017 re-launch of the Bath and Body Works men's fragrance line along with the existing Ocean, Noir as well as Teakwood and Suede. Bourbon like Ocean and Noir before it has turned into a mainstay of the Bath and Body Works men's fragrance line. Every year, new Bath and Body Works men's fragrances come and go, but this stays with maybe a change in bottle decal or juice coloration. Bourbon is very different compared to most Bath and Body Works fragrances. I find Bourbon to be both the most mature of the Bath and Body Works men's fragrances and also at the same time, and mass appealing. It is a mix of a slightly boozy fragrance with The One Eau de Parfum. The oak really plays like the oak in Bourbon and Oak by Cremo. The amber gives off The One vibes as does the pepper. I do not at all get Dior Homme, Dior Homme Eau or Prada L'Homme vibes at all. Bourbon is a typical Bath & Body Works fragrance in performance. It is not Mahogany Woods which is the best performing men's Bath & Body Works fragrance (and the best smelling) but it isn't a lightweight. It performs on par with the Bourbon and Oak by Cremo. It projects more than Bourbon & Oak initially. Seasonality is fall, winter and spring being a bit more of a night scent, but workable during day time. I would wear this at work over Bourbon and Oak and it is a good casual scent. It could also work as a date fragrance too. Bourbon is a fine fragrance. I think it is behind a love and a like, but I don't see it as a must buy. Cremo Bourbon and Oak IMHO is better despite not having the initial hit. For this I rate it a 7.5 out of 10.

The name is misleading because this is nothing like bourbon. I guess in use of white oak only? Gotta char that oak if we are headed to bourbon territory. Anyways, in spite of the name being off, this is a really nice fragrance. Iris is not listed but i sure do smell it. It is like Dior homme eau as others have said, but it is sweet, spicy, slightly woody and not heavy citrus. Works for me because i found homme eau to be too much for me. If you rolled the one and homme eau together, this is what you get. The reviewers are spot on as are those who said "this reminds me of" both fragrances i just mentioned. Shampoo and body wash, lotion, body spray, and cologne all layered together make this last and really envelops you. Noir, teakwood, suede, all very solid for the price. Never would have thought id proudly wear anything from bath and body works, but kudos to them. Lastly, i don't see why this cannot be worn in all seasons.

I have smelled several of these, own this one, and have friends that use these colognes. My take on them is, seems that they all have about the same dry down. Let me explain. They certainly project well enough. When i smell these on others, i just cant really make much distinction between one from the other. I can smell them but that's about it. Its as though it is a bar of soap trying to be a cologne. Hence, the similar vibe i get from all of them with that underlying soap scent. This one does seem to be a cross somewhere between the Dior Homme and D&G The One, as others have noticed. I feel like its the better one them all, some are less potent than others. I imagine the more serious collectors would not appreciate this much. For the price, this is alright beginner stuff. Get the 15ml cologne bottle size about 6$ and hand them out. The youngsters might like it.

This was bought for my father as part of a present from the US and he is rather fond of it. He's gotten through a bottle and several bottles of bourbon shower gel, and is still very happy about it - his face when my sister picked him up a bottle and shower gel replacement from a duty free / airport shop was something to behold. So I'd call it a hit. In my opinion, it's a nice, warm, slightly spicy and slightly woody everyday scent for men - I just wish it were easier to get in the UK so we could keep my dad in stock of one of his go-to no-effort choices. I'm biased as it's something my dad likes and I know nothing of male fragrances, but I'd say this is an easy-to-like, easy-to-wear, casual, every-day fragrance which is adult but not elderly/mature and a pleasant crowd-pleaser. If it were easier to get here in the UK, I'd even call it wallet-friendly!

My husband wears this daily and he picked it out himself. Very generic man smell. I've been trying to get him to wear a "big boy scent" for years now and this is what he picked. Not my first choice but at least he's not wearing old spice swagger anymore. Def a dupe of DG the one. Not as complicated as DG but honestly close enough that you should save you're money and just buy this. My boss wears DG the one fairly often and the difference is subtle and prob not distinguishable to most people. Interesting cuz DG the one is my boss's favorite cologne and he has quite an interesting and delicious collection. Don't get why something so generic is appealing to him and my husband and they're completely different types of men.

I respectfully disagree with some of the reviews that say this doesn't smell like bourbon; to me Bourbon captures a grainy, woody essence that smells quite a bit like a very smooth bourbon. It's an olfactory illusion, true, as when you focus on it you really get a light dusting of white pepper and a warm oak note, but the attempt to capture the slightly woody booziness of corn-fed liquor works for me. The fragrance seems minimalist, linear, and unfortunately a little too diffuse after an hour or so (longevity is middling), but for about $40 a bottle this is an easy to wear conservative masculine. Good concept, judiciously restrained and successful execution.

I picked up 100ml for $10 today and I'm pleasantly surprised how amazing this fragrance projects and stays. On paper its gone within an hr but 4-5hrs on skin im still getting whiffs. It smells similarly to both DHE & PL'homme without the sometimes bothersome IRIS note in both, but I can find myself wearing this more often than those two. Like someone said earlier, its nothing grounbreaking but its a wear any-time anywher year round fragrance and a signature scent possibly for some. If you can find it cheap, do not hesitate its smells unique, clean and upscale. A versatile scent you should own

Agree with those before me, nothing to do with bourbon. You could have called this cashmere or something to help visualize something warm and sweet. This is an amber fragrance, with sight projection and little lasting power. I do not get D&G the one nor Dior Hommes vibes at all! This is like a pepperless F black by Ferragamo, if you have to compare it. B&BW have better offerings targeted at men such as coffee whisky and after dark... if you can find them 😞
