Chocolate Amber Body Mist

I am so glad BBW brought this scent back. When I was a kid, my mom had the lotion of this and I remember sneaking into her room to sniff it like an addict chasing their fix. This smell is extremely nostalgic to me and was my first true introduction to warmer fragrances. My mom loves her white florals so this was the only fragrance of hers I was able to appreciate at a young age. Now for the scent itself, when I tried the new release the lotion at first almost had a salty pee like scent, but after letting it dry down and walking around the store I got hit with that wave of familiarity. It is like the most luxurious dark amber scent and the chocolate isn't too sweet, it is a very elevated complex rich chocolate that merges perfectly with the striking amber. I put this lotion on in front of my vanilla addict friend and she immediately ordered 2 bottles. It is that good.

Smells like a sexy chocolate martini. Skews far more mature by B&BW standards. Never smelled the original, but I very much enjoy this iteration. I get a lot of balance between the notes but I find the amber to be quite strong. The chocolate note is not a very gourmand chocolate like in Choco Musk or Cheriosa 71, but more of a mocha syrup that you'd add to your coffee. Some other reviews mention a possible coffee which I get a whiff of; however, I smell more of an espresso martini than a fresh brew. The initial spray is very alcoholic and it takes a moment for the other notes to develop. I would not recommend blind buying this scent, but I might repurchase the body care for this scent to layer under a more complex and interesting gourmand scent (like Mugler Angel or CK One Shock for her-- both more interesting with prominent choco-vanilla notes)

This smells pretty strong on me. It's perfect for fall and winter. I use it during nighttime. There's this smokey quality to it. The chocolate note isn't a sweet milk chocolate one that kinda smells like chocolate syrup or chocolate frosting. It's a bitter and strong cocoa scent. Like dark chocolate. I love it. I only smell faint vanilla and the dry down is woody and boozy cacao. This is mature and sensual. Not like the usual fruity florals from B&BW. I can picture myself wearing this on a date night. The packaging is exquisite. Lasts about 4 hours on my clothes. This is best paired with any vanilla perfume if you want it sweeter or any chocolate perfume if you want it to be a deeper fragrance. this is a beautiful, cozy scent for a cold night. while the amber note does remind me of sensual amber, i wouldn't say the two are alike--this has a chocolate (think swiss miss) note and an overall creamier texture, while sensual amber is brighter because of the citrus. on first sniff, this reminded me of cozy vanilla bourbon, but i also wouldn't consider these dupes since i find this to be less fruity and more powdery and ambery. it's got strong notes so it projects quite well initially, but i find that this doesn't last as long on me as some other mists from b&bw, although i could be going noseblind.

I regret to say this is nothing like the OG Chocolate Amber from the early 2000's, however, I am happy and delighted to say this is quite beautiful. I agree with a person who posted a while back saying her child said it smelled like coffee. To me, coffee is the top note. Not overly bitter black coffee, but a lovely top note to elevate the chocolate and amber. I love this stuff, it's perfect for everyday because it smells nice and smooth all the while being a long lasting and comforting scent.

as someone whos favourite notes are vanilla and amber i really dont mind the lack of chocolate but its definitely something to consider before buying. i wear it before bed almost every night with the body wash body butter and spray combo. and i dont have any complaints. theres enough chocolate in it for me personally but if you want something pure chocolate and vanilla try choco musk

I absolutely love this SAS find. I have seen a lot of people say they don't get much chocolate from this, but to my nose it's well-balanced with the amber. The orchid keeps it smelling sophisticated and not overly gourmand. There's a slight honey drizzle as well. Truly a divine scent!

its so perfect. i wish i could give an in depth review of why its so perfect but i cant, its just the best thing ive ever smelled. i wear the body lotion + spray to bed and wake up with my clothes and sheets still smelling like it. if u can find it during SAS TRY IT!!!!

I picked this up after smelling it in the store during the SAS sale. It’s a delicious but sensual blend of chocolate and amber, with just a touch of the floral to keep it not a childlike scent. I wish this one was sticking around.

Soo good has a little bit of a honey or caramel scent to it and when you wear the lotion the scent fills the ENTIRE room I can smell it on me throughout the day!

A deep, rich, photorealistic sweet chocolate scent. Clearly not everyone's experience, however. Heavily dependent on skin chemistry!!

My brother wears this scent and it's sooo fire

To me the note that is supposed to be dark chocolate smells like tobacco. Not like smoke or like a cig, more like leaves being cut and rolled for a cigar. There are a very few natural tobaccos that I don't mind the smell of, and this reminds me of those. I bought a lotion of this and am layering it with La Habana, very nice combo. For a straight up dark chocolate fragrance, Dark Chocolate by Demeter is a better choice.

i had blind bought the lotion and i think this is the kind of smell i think i'd enjoy if someone else was wearing it but i don't see it for myself,, i get a lot of mostly dark chocolate with a hint of a soft honey smell. i don't really feel that it's very gourmand, but it's a dark and elegant scent that's very pretty so i think definitely give it a shot (*ˆ〉ˆ*)

I find that in body mist form you get a lot more of the amber. I actually prefer this more in the body lotion, as it leans more gourmand. I get more of the honeyed chocolate note. To me it smells like a chocolate glazed donut. I think this will be a great fragrance for fall and winter!

Yes to smelling like a cup of Hershey hot cocoa without the over sweetness.

I had the perfume version of this way back in maybe 2009 or so, and I loved it. When I saw they were coming out with the body mist version I was so excited. Color me disappointed. It's just not the same scent it was back then. It's changed, and it's like a distant, poorer cousin, both weaker and watered down. BBW does this so often, that I'm shocked when they re-release and it's actually the same scent. We won't even talk about same longevity. I was so excited to get this that I bought the entire line: mist, lotion, and body wash. I don't even use body lotion, but thought I love this scent so much, maybe I will. After sniffing the body mist, both the lotion and body wash sit unopened, collecting dust. Maybe I'll try them at some point, but I was just so let down by the mist, I'm sure they are going to be disappointing as well. That original perfume was just amazing. I still have it tucked away in the dark closet, I might have to dig it out. Why hoard it just because I love it so much?

I'm with the below review by Fairy on this one; there is, especially in the opening, a note in this reminiscent of high-octane gasoline + burnt rubber. That does somewhat dissipate, however, and then the fragrance becomes more wearable. It's a dark fragrance. It's hard to describe, because I wouldn't necessarily know that it has notes of chocolate, honey, amber or vanilla in it without being told that, yet it does smell like something adjacent to those type of notes? I don't know—it's just okay to me. Not dazzled by it, but I enjoy it a bit more when layered over Espresso body lotion.

It's just alright. I busted the cap on my FFM already, and I'm only half-convinced to re-bottle. It almost smells a little sour? There are other perfumes I'd go to before this one for a chocolate gourmand smell. Worth buying while on sale

It reminds me of Qissa delicious. Both are weak. I sampled in store, but decided it was too light and weak to purchase. My daughter felt the same. I’m using the lotion for layering with gourmand perfumes. I love it!

Amber with hint of vanilla/chocolate

For years I hoped they would bring this back, so I was really excited to see it return. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. This does not smell like what I remember. It’s very weak and watered down, almost like a knockoff of the original. The scent itself is a warm chocolatey amber, but the chocolate leans bitter more like dark cocoa powder or chocolate syrup. There’s even a hint of mocha espresso, and I feel there’s a slightly masculine edge to it as well. It’s not a juvenile scent at all, it definitely leans more mature. There’s also a slight powdery touch. It works for layering, especially the lotion. I don’t mind the lotion and think it’s the most versatile and adds the most value to the line. However, I’m having a hard time using up the body wash and body mist. The more I use them, the more I dislike them, and I wouldn’t repurchase. 4/10 Sillage 3/10 Longevity 3/10

Very very weak. Lasts about an hour on me. None of the ingredients/scents really stand out. Quite a bit disappointed with this body mist.

Definitely worth grabbing the set during the SAS for under $20 bucks, if you're a chocolate and amber lover. I wouldn't say it's gourmand bc it leans more dark and bitter, imo. I can't wear it by itself. My baby girl asked if I spilled my coffee on my clothes 🤣. My husband laughed and sniffed me, he said it does smell like black coffee. So it's definitely a fragrance you can layer with various scents to warm it up a bit or even darken it more. I personally love to layer it with Victoria's Secret Rich Caramel Vanilla. I got many compliments with that combo. It paired well with Caramel Cascade too. I also liked it layered with Pistachio Glaze (Dubai Chocolate is what it reminded me of 😋). While this isn't one I stocked up on during the sale, I'm enjoying mixing it with different fragrances. We all "smell" differently and fragrances work or don't work with our natural scent. I put some of this on during the semi annual and it’s worth the hype in my opinion. It’s got a sultry chocolate scent that lasts good for a B&BW spray. I pick up on the chocolate immediately it reminds me of brownie batter mixed with coffee which is a nice add on. I think B&BW should keep this one year round especially towards the Fall and Winter months. I feel it’s nice in warm weather too but I feel like you get the best out of this one when it’s cold out. I think it projects better that way. It’s a sexy sultry chocolate scent that I recommend definitely a 10/10. There’s so much vanilla scents these days which I love but chocolate scents now are a little less common besides chocolate musk. And it’s hard to miss on a chocolate scent cause there’s a lot of vanilla scents that I don’t think smell anything like vanilla but all chocolate scents are spot on. This is a 10/10

The lotion leans more yummy chocolate and almost smells like pudding, whereas I get basically NO chocolate from the mist. It's a heavy scent, not a gourmand, and really amber-centric. Reminds me a lot of Sensual Amber. Keeping my lotion for sure to layer with Chocolate Greedy/Choco Musk and such, but I just don't really enjoy the mist.

It smells like eating a tootsie roll on the tarmac waiting to take off in a small aircraft that just started the engine, with respect to the fact that these very specific anecdotal reviews are not helpful for everybody, that's my genuine scent memory and all I can smell from this!

maybe i got a weird batch but i dont get the chocolate note in this???? yeah sure theres a really subtle amber note in there but no chocolate ?? i feel like i got clickbaited

I adore this scent, very cozy for bedtime. It pulls like dark chocolate on me instead of saccharine sweet, which was a welcome surprise. I’d say it’s well worth the $4.99!

I was so looking forward to this. However, all I could smell was urine. Gross, I know, but that's the best description I can think of. So very disappointed.

I'm so glad I picked this up at SAS. I get all the notes listed as well as musk, caramel and maybe a hint of coffee. I wish they'd bring back the perfume.

The honeyed chocolate note comes out so much more in the lotion, the spray is dominated by the amber but the chocolate is there just subdued

Reminds me of 2006, Nora Jones music, & the global village coffeehouse decor they used to have in Panera Bread and Barnes & Noble.

This smells like dr. Pepper, but i dont hate it lol
