Clean Slate

Really dig this one and it’s one that gets compliments! This one is pretty linear on my skin which isn’t a bad thing as I love the opening. Clean Slate opens up very fresh,clean, out of the shower and to be honest it’s just another fresh linen/dryer sheet type of smell but it does that genre very well !! Again, this stays pretty much the same with the exception of in the drydown you definitely more of that creamy sandalwood ! Performance is average as it lasts 4-6 hours with only average performance as well which actually is good for a scent like this !! Overall rating- 7.5 out of 10 !! A very good,fresh out of the shower scent that smells extremely pleasant but isn’t too unique ( I think others have liked this on me more than I’ve enjoyed it myself )

Clean Slate is probably one of my favorite fragrances from Bath &Body Works to wear in the spring and summer. It's fantastically bright, fresh and woodsy. This fragrance is also a really nice one to layer with other citrus/woody frags. The longevity of this one is quite good on my skin as well. It definitely seems to last at least 6 hours, but by that time it does sit very close to the skin. Definitely try it out if your close by or heading to a Bath & Body Works, it's a great one.

I went to Bath and Body Works to test a completely different scent and I walked out with this. Clean Slate is a unisex fragrance that it just what it sounds like. I like to wear the lotion for a base for my citrusy unisex fragrances like Bond No 9.

Very pleasantly surprised with this one. Clean Slate is a slightly sweet, super juicy citrus. It is less masculine and less Old Spice-adjacent than you would typically get from the brand, but still masculine-leaning. It's very simple, but one of the most uplifting, pleasant citruses I have smelled. "Fresh out of the shower" is probably the best way to describe it, but it's not soapy, it's not super woody, it's not overly aromatic, not harsh. It's crisp white linen and ice cold lemonade, in a minimalist way. A contemporary, 2021 take on an incredibly familiar category. Not to mention, it projects pretty well, and it manages to last about 4-5 hours which is good for a citrus-based fragrance. Sells for $40 regular price, worth the price.

For the price, this is excellent. It was my go-to scent for a few months in the spring/summer, and I still have no reservations about grabbing it off my dresser. It's perfect for when I just want to smell baseline "good" and don't want to spend too much time thinking about what I'm wearing. The citrus and marine notes are dominant, with just the slightest hint of sandalwood rounding it out. It's a fairly linear scent, but I don't really see that as an issue at this price point. It also has a bit of a synthetic note, especially if you overspray; but again, I don't care when it costs $40. I hope Bath and Body doesn't discontinue this, because it's something I'll be happy keeping around for years to come.

Of the different B&BW oceanic fragrances I've tried (and I've had several of them at this point), I would have to say that this one is my favorite. To my nose, it smells like a less sweet version of Michael Malul's "Ocean Noir," not bitter or acrid smelling, just slightly less sweet. My only complaint about it is that I wish there was an EDP version of it, with similar strength and performance to Ocean Noir. Then this would be a standout fragrance for them they couldn't keep in stock.

I have to say this is a bit of a nothing burger. Not my main thing by any means, but if you're fond of things that just aren't so extravagant, this'll be a hit. I can't imagine necessarily complimenting someone for this, but I will say it'd fit a specific vibe. A noble trophy hunter on a cruise, maybe.

I compared this to BBW Graphite, Lacoste L1212 Magnetic, and Eternity Air. Not 100% similar but they are all in the same mold/vein. IMHO, it would be redundant to have them all in your collection. Glad I sampled first.
