Notes of salted waves, smooth and comforting vanilla, and sun-soaked driftwood ebb and flow like the ocean tide for a scent that’s undeniably clean, luminous, and warm. This is absolutely gorgeous! The perfect beachy marine scent which is just the thing for those who don’t enjoy coconut (I’m a coconut lover, but still adore this!)! It smells like the actual beach with a swirl of smooth vanilla! It doesn’t have any kind of sun tan lotion scent to it either (although I love those kinds of beachy scents too!). Definitely one of the BEST BBW fragrances! I actually find it rather unique and elevated! I only recently got this, and I can’t believe it took me this long! I’ve already received several compliments on it, and a couple of my friends even ended up buying it because they loved mine so much! I do actually find this quite similar to my beloved Beach Nights! Coastal Dreaming is a bit more marine and salty with a softer vanilla, while Beach Nights also has a lovely salty marine vibe, it has additional notes of marshmallow and chocolate. I also find this very reminiscent of Ellis Brooklyn Vanilla Salt and JHAG Vanilla Vibes (both which I own and love!). To me this feels feminine, and quite suitable for women of any age (this is one of the B&BW fragrance that doesn’t have a juvenile feel, but nothing mature, just perfect for anyone!). This feels best suited for spring and summer wear because of the beachy, coastal vibe. I think it works well for almost all occasions except for maybe the fanciest ones. It’s definitely perfect as a beach getaway scent, and is suitable for work/school. I get good performance with Coastal Dreaming EDP. The longevity is moderate to strong as it lasts 6-7+ hours on my skin. The projection is around moderate as it radiates out at least an arm’s length from me. I only buy B&BW body creams & on rare occasion the EDP. I prefer perfumes I wear to be applied in the morning and last al day, which is mainly accomplished with higher end brands. This is one of few that I used my free item on the travel size EDP, and I'm actually considering buying the full size as I have fallen for it! Body lotion feels nice, silkiage is pretty good as well. I've never liked B&BW mists or lotions as they have a much different profile to me than the EDP and the body cream, so I can't speak on those. This makes me think of wearing a blue and off white sundress and going on a dolphin tour in the middle of the day. Or an evening dinner date on the boardwalk. Still definitely something you can wear during the winter as it's so warm and cozy, but not that overbearing scent that is winter only (think like burberry her elixir). I actually really dislike vanilla scents and have nothing vanilla based. I like aquatic salty ozonic scents. But when I smelled this I knew it was MY vanilla.

This review is based on the FFM, not the EDP. Apparently the EDP has more of a vanilla scent? Coastal Dreaming is a true beach scent that gives off a different vibe than the usual "summer beach vacation with your toes in the sand" feel; it immediately brings to mind standing on a rocky beach on a more mild day, surrounded by the clean woodsy smell of driftwood. The woody note is definitely the first thing I pick up, followed by a less potent salty tone. As it dries, the driftwood scents fade into the background and just leaves this salty, fresh smell that reminds me of cool ocean water. Nowhere in this could I detect any hint of vanilla, but honestly I think it works better without it. If you want to make the scent more summer-y I'd recommend pairing it with At The Beach.

I got word this scent is being discontinued after this summer so I wanted to smell it in person before the semi-annual sale so I could stock up on it if it's good. I tried the fine fragrance mist and the body cream on my arm. I was AMAZED how delicious the body cream smelled so rich and yummy like vanilla ice cream. The mist to me does not smell much like the body cream at all and is very weak. They almost don't even smell like the same fragrance. I got it anyway for the $5.95 body care sale which is totally worth it imo. It's about 5 hours later and I still smell the body cream on my arm but not the spray. I did not try the EDP but I definitely recommend this scent as a delicious vanilla base that would be excellent to layer with other scents.

This review is for the FFM. Coastal Dreaming is a sweet, slightly aquatic fragrance. It is a powdery yet creamy vanilla with a breath of something that smells like a walk next to the ocean. It almost has this nostalgic vibe to it. In a gourmand context, this reads to me as a salt water taffy. The dry down becomes a lot more woodsy while still holding onto that sweetness that defines this scent. This will be a fun fragrance to layer with!

If you want to smell like a salty piece of driftwood with a vanilla air (NOT gourmand, thank goodness,) this is absolutely the warm-weather body spray for you. I just got mine today (the body spray,) and as soon as I sprayed it on myself outside the store (hot as hell where I was) I felt a refreshing breeze of soft, airy scent. Inoffensive to migraine-getters like myself. I'd absolutely buy again! :)

This is for EDP: I sampled the FFM version and was not impressed at all. To a point of I didn’t even bother using my expiring reward on it. Anyway, I finally got a chance to smell the EDP and omg I’m obsessed. It was an instant buy for me. It’s just so CREAMY and beautiful on my skin. I definitely think it’s a very close dupe for Vanilla Salt because I own that one too. I love it.

Bath & Body Works is irritating, but when they’re good they’re DAMN good. I believe this one smells different on everyone. On me it’s salty and sweet and fresh. It truly does smell like salty air, vanilla, and a whisper of driftwood. Each note is light but the perfume is long lasting and projects. This is a coconut free beachy skin scent.

Coastal Dreams is perfect. I love the blend of salt air, ocean, and the hint of vanilla. I have the cream, the body spray, and the EDT and the scents lasts forever when I use all three together. I’m going back for everything in the line before they sell out. This is by far one of BBW’s best fragrances ever.

A great summer vanilla! The longevity isn't too bad but, its a BBW product so keep that in mind. Will be layering with Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Let's see if BBW keeps this scent around or will it disappear like most of them.

I just sprayed this absent mindedly while watching a movie. There was such a familiar Salty nasal memory, so much that i had to pause the movie. Then I got it.... Divine EDP By Jean Paul Gaultier. They are so alike !!

It’s is very very light and it dries down to almost nothing. I tried it on the tester strip in the store. I drenched that strip and when it dried it smelled like paper. I am disappointed because I do like to collect all BBW fragrances. This is a true waste of money.

Not bad! This is a good quality perfume for a good price. It’s ambroxan and vanilla heavy but the salt note is there and it smells gooood. This is one of those that you spray light during a hot day and enjoy. It reminds me of Bosca Vanilla Forte by Guerlain.

The perfume lasts maybe 30 minutes. And I LOVE Bath and Body Works and buy the perfume with the body mist, lotion, body wash. Smells like nothing than cardboard.

this is about the FFM: on my skin, the initial spray really reminded me of warm musk; like an aquatic version. there was a slight hint of salt in the background, but i mostly got warm musk through the vanilla and woods. the drydown was a more of a skin scent for me. the salt started to come through and the vanilla merged with the background. honestly, it became kind of "sweaty" in a way. it's also very, very light even for a body mist. i had to spray 4 times on my arm to even detect it.

Im not going to say anything about how it smells. Why!!! It. Doesn't last long enough to notice. I sprayed it on paper in the store and enjoyed it on paper. I expected more from the perfume. Very unhappy

This is for the lotion, body cream and fine fragrance: I loved how it smells on application- it’s very fresh and airy with some vanilla. After sitting on my skin for about an hour, it turned into this slightly nausiating spoiled sour milk vanilla scent. I was so sad because I wanted to love this!! It does smell like beach nights but less sweet and without the marshmallow. Beach nights didn’t have this sour scentto it, but I think it might be the salt notes.

I adore a salty vanilla. Olympea, Rose Gold Intense, Bosca Vanille,and Vanilla Salt are some of the scents I look forward to wearing in the heat of summer. This one joins the line up as a love for me. My body chemistry must love this line because the whole line performs really well on me. The saltiness feeling like the sensuality of warm skin, and the vanilla feeling airy, light, and soft. The vibe is whipped vanilla on a pristine shoreline breeze. In comparison,Vanilla Salt is camphoric in the very opening and creamy sweet vanilla in the dry down. It gives vanilla saltwater taffy, leaning gourmand. Saltair’s Salt Water Vanilla leans even more into the vanilla and feels a bit heavier and less airy to me. Coastal Dreams has the perfect balance of salty shoreline breeze in front of softly sweet vanilla. I love them all, and will pull for VS when I’m in a gourmand mood. I’ll pull for CD when I want something fresh and airy.

Similar to Guerlain Forte Bosca Vanilla with much worse performance. Vanilla is more akin to the vanilla note in Ellis Brooklyn's Vanilla Salt. Guerlain did this scent profile better (of course, not judging BBW for that). I like the lotion version of this the best. There is something akin to a body odor/sweat note in here that shows up at times. Unfortunately I had to pass on the EDP due to abysmal performance, with the scent disappearing on the test strip in literal seconds (and not much was there to begin with, even with overspraying). Lightest EDP I have ever smelled anywhere, with the sole exception of the recent EDP for Bath and Body Works' new cherry blossom fragrance. I hope this isn't a recent change at Bath and Body Works, if so I will be passing on their EDPs for the foreseeable future. The performance of older EDTs are at least 2-3x better than what they have put out recently.

Out of the reminds me section its most comparable to Ellis Brooklyn Vanilla Salt but this is not exact. EB Vanilla Salt is more feminine unisex, has added florals (banana peel like yang ylang and one jasmine petal in my opinion) and is cold breezy sea salt WHIPPED cream airiness. Coastal Dreaming is more masculine unisex linen out the dryer like woodiness and the vanilla has definitely been wave washed lmao. The salt in coastal dreaming also reads off as MSG sweetness rather than Himalayan or sea salt. Theres sweetness from the vanilla and it’s definitely light and airy but it’s not ice cream or whipped cream or as sugary as EB. Wave washed msg linen like woodiness with a pinch of vanilla. I like that it smells clean. But definitely wouldn’t call it a dupe. More like cousins not siblings and not twins.

Nice new release for summer. Re. the body mist: Similar to EB Vanilla Salt as "reminds me of" points out but I don't find it as sweet. Very light and fresh, not very gourmand. A little bit alcohol-y. Longevity is poor. Re. the EDP: Definitely a richer, more dense vanilla, although it still maintains the fresh saltiness. Much closer to Vanilla Salt. Longevity is a little better, a couple hours on my skin (which is plenty decent for BBW).

I have this in the body mist, it’s definitely not Beach Nights, i love both this and that. This is vanilla beachy sweet and salty. Its just so good! Beach Nights is my favorite Im glad I stocked up on it still have a ton! So i do know the difference between thr two I can’t stop spraying this one and plan on buying more.

For the fragrance mist. I bought this for a beach getaway and I love it. It reminds me of an Alkemia scent (but not candle-like) but I can’t place my finger on which one. I get warm vanilla and salt, almost like a cashmere. It wears for several hours, even in Galveston heat and humidity. I really like it.

Woah! I’m so happy to have a summery vanilla!!! Predominantly yummy vanilla that’s balanced out by the salt and wood to be light and pleasant and surprisingly perfumey for a BBW fragrance (in a good way). It kind of reminds me of Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Santorini.

I love it. It smells like the base of Cloud Nine minus the lavender same launch as the cotton coconut both have that weird yummy base. Not beach nights. We gotta stop willing it to be true. Only similar thing is coastal wording I guess

I love this scent Ive seen comparisons to Beach Nights but dont agree. Its very different. Its a beautiful beachy vanilla and the longevity is actually really good. Am getting another bottle, gonna be wearing this a lot for summer!

A really beautiful salt water vanilla scent. It’s clean, light, good for summer with an aquatic scent to it that balances nicely with the vanilla.

Smells like saltair salt water vanilla. It’s cute
