Cypress

Got this at a bargain price so there is no need to whine about it. All I wanna say is, without digging deeper into what it is, it smells great! Not too heavy, not too light. It reminds me of Bleu de Chanel Parfum, Dior Savage, Coach Men, or even like Blue Dylan too, maybe. All the combination of good examples. The scent doesn’t last long but by using in conjunction with lotion and body wash, it lingers for a good while.

Definitely unisex. A super deal and at 75% off it's practically free. The body cream is more subtle. My absolute favourite fragrance. Smells like fresh outdoors wherever that is where cedars and citrus live. I also use the liquid soap and that scent lingers for hours. There may be a hint of frankincense and likely the reason I Love this.

Bath and Body Works Cypress I believe has in fact been discontinued. I smelt it when it came out and liked it, but not for the $34.99 retail B&BW sells their fragrances for usually. In December (2018), it hit the clearance sale for I think 75% off, similar to the price I got Botanical Blend last year. I figured I didn't have much to lose since the body wash cost as much as the fragrance. Cypress gives me a weird combination. On the one hand it is fairly close to another citrus/cypress fragrance in the B&BW stable, Ocean For Men. On the other hand, it has a tonic water note of L.12.12 Yellow by Lacoste/3AM by Sean John to it. To me, the tonic water note hits more than the cypress does. It smells as if you had a bergamot sliced up in cup with tonic water. It is like Ocean had a bad batch because someone added a tonic water note to it and removed the yuzu. Not that it smells bad, but it was an error batch of Ocean. I do not get why people think this smells like an Aventus. Maybe a super fruity batch or a fruitier clone, but not what most people think Aventus is. Perhaps it (Aventus) is the new fragrance chicken where everything smells like it. But this fragrance has no currant, no smoke, no noticable wood and no pineapple. Performance is on par to Ocean and L.12.12 Yellow. Both are good for an hour or so of soft to moderate projection, depending on the wind and about five hours of being a noticable skin scent. From my experience, it is better than 3AM was. I wonder if this was an EDT and 3AM was really an EDC... Use is pretty much for work, casual and even workout. It is slight enough (being an eau de cologne) that it would in fact work in a gym. I also find it works best in spring and summer days or maybe a fall day when you long for something brighter to outweigh the dark and cool fall. Overall, Bath & Body Works Cypress is a nice addition to the 2017 and on Men's line from B&BW. However, I would not suggest buying it if it is in fact discontinued. I have not seen it since I purchased it, so I tend to believe it is discontinued. I also wouldn't get it unless you owned Ocean and want something with a twist. This should have been a flanker to Ocean. I rate it a 7 out of 10. I do like it more than L.12.12, but it isn't Ocean. Ocean especially the vintage bottles was a really nice cologne. Haven't had the new bottle but that is because I haven't needed to get another back-up bottle yet.

Last year I ordered my husband a lotion in this scent on Ebay. The seller sent body wash/shampoo instead. With how non-confrontational and lazy I tend to be, I let it slide and muttered a momentary grumble, then set this aside. My husband however, doesn't use anything beside Head and Shoulders...ever. So, I am now the proud owner of a Cypress shower gel& shampoo combo. Business must be addressed in rational order; so firstly; my gripes on marketing (skip this if you're unconcerned). 1. The bottling itself is better, and the smaller, black, flip caps are superior to the wide silver types on their "women's" body care products. 2. This is a 2-in-1 bath product with the same ingredients list as women's body washes that aren't marketed as shampoo as well. I use their shower gels as shampoos regardless, but I find the disparity amusing (men apparently just want ONE bottle of soap, women need several items 😂). 3. There is no highfaluten note list here - no "Dewy mountain air, cool cypress sprigs and a burst of bergamot juice"...it's just "Cypress" LMAO!! As for scent, this is a masculine-leaning unisex, but it still has a B&BW sweetness as it's signature. Realistic cypress is an extremely astringent and bitter fragrance, but this is certainly a "sugared" version of the wood. Still, it's brisk and extremely enjoyable. There's a carbonated feel, and the "tonic water" thing makes a ton of sense. It manages to be a very "cool" (as opposed to warm) wood, laced with citrus. I really like this and think it'll layer smoothly with a lot of my wardrobe. It's my Bob Ross soap...because I didn't intend to have it for myself, but it was a "happy little accident" and a "happy little tree" fragrance! 🌲 Even still, I might look for some lotion or fragrance for my husband. I'd like this on him just as much, if not more.

A really nice fragrance. I disagree that it is similar to Aventus, but agree that it is extremely pleasant. Performance is weak on me as well.

I like it. Fresh, clean and green with a little sweetness. It almost doesn't seem like it should be blue-colored. My very first impression was that it reminded me a little of original Polo green, but just the very top notes. Definitely light, not a powerhouse by any means. I hoarded some after Christmas as I was told it was a limited run. It's already gone from the website.

This is a very light soapy inoffensive cypress. Work friendly. Im pretry sure you could spray a whole bottle on, and it wouldnt offend a soul. It is exactly what it says.it is, and it is a perfect daytime warm weather fragrance. Nice. Im glad I purchased.
