Freshwater

For me, the fragrance journey started from here, Freshwater Deodorant. That first sniff brought me into the Game. It was Ultra Fresh and Attractive at the same time! Recently bought it's Perfume Version. There are only Three Official Notes: Italian Bergamot, Mountain Spring Water & Oakmoss. To my nose, it is a Fresher Version of Acqua Di Gio EDT (OG). To be Precise, it is ADG minus the Floral & Heavy Notes. It's like the opening of ADG, not the Drydown. But the opening stays for the entire lifetime of the perfume. It is quite linear, and doesn't change much. Performance is really Good for a Fresh non-complex scent. I would say, it performs better than ADG EDT New formulation. Projects for one hour, but stays on skin / cloths for really long. You can see, I have mentioned it as EDT, though popularly it is known as "COLOGNE". It's because, I think "Freshwater Cologne" is it's name, not the concentration. Behind the box, there is a sticker / label, mentioning the details. There it is Categorised as Eau De Toilette. MUST BUY!

This is by-far one of the best "mall" fragrances I've ever owned. Not only are bergamot, ozone/water, and oakmoss some of the best notes for colognes, but they combine very well together in Freshwater. This is a very relaxing fragrance that you can wear any time. It doesn't smell like shower gel like a lot of other affordable fragrances. The scent reminds me of petrichor minus the earthiness. The bergamot note in particular is very high quality and really draws you in. My only complaint is that Bath and Body Works only makes this in an Eau de Cologne concentration which only lasts around 1 or 2 hours before needing reapplication. It will linger in fabrics but not really on your skin. I feel like BBW could have easily made this an Eau de Toilette concentration, and then it would be a serious contender in the aquatic cologne space. But for around $50, it's still a good value if you don't mind reapplying all the time.

Just bought this for my husband. He smells so GOOD! Fresh, clean and a little spicy. The cologne smell exactly as the notes are listed. If sprayed just on the skin, it sadly turns into a skin scent within about hour into wearing but it doesn't disappear. It stays stronger if sprayed on the clothes as well. You can't over spray Freshwater which is what I recommend doing, the price is cheap enough so spray away. The beautiful fragrance last a full work day and will leave a trail behind. It's just enough to make my nose chase it down and say "There you are you beautiful scent on that gorgeous man!" I love it and so does my husband! I would definitely buy Freshwater again for him.

Definitely a 9.5/10 for me. The scent is incredible — fresh, aquatic, and a really nice spin on Acqua di Gio (I actually like this a bit better). The only downside is longevity. I get around 4–5 hours on my skin, but while it lasts, it smells amazing.

The opening is very similar to Acqua di gio. Very fresh , versatile and easy to wear. In the dry down the mossy note takes over and startes to differ from acqua di gio Over all : 8.7 out of 10

This smells 90 percent like ADG, minus the floral notes. Projection isn’t too bad for the first 2 hours and it lasts about 5-6 hours. Got it for 25 dollars. It’s a deal.

An elegant men's scent, flawed in performance. There is deodorant, body cream, and perfume from it, all of which are beautiful.

Update: wore this fragrance today and oh my gosh.... Words can not describe how good this is

Aqua Di Gio dupe. Im sad they discontinued it...

I'm so, so unsurprised that people are comparing this to ADG, it really is similar. However, I do think ADG have slightly more citrus in the opening, because everyone I've ever smelled it, it's like semi-truck of citrus to the nose. *However*....and this is a BIG "however"...this is actually smoother. The fresh water thing is less sharp, but still very refreshing. In all honesty, I didn't expect this to be so nice and many times B&BW does smell...you know, like B&BW (which is ok, I enjoy a cheapie too), but this seems like it should cost more than it does. I personally would probably wear this occasionally as a woman who prefers things more femme usually, it's not a super blue fragrance, and it could be considered slightly unisex (who cares, wear what you want). B&BW nearly always leans sweet, and this is a little smoother (as I mentioned), but also a couple of notches sweeter than ADG (or other fragrances of similar DNA). It's still more masculine though, but because it's got a sweet kick to it, it gives off an approachable vibe. You'd need to simply hate fragrances in general to dislike this, and you'd need to be super broke to not afford it. So, I guess...get it? 🙃

I've been sleeping on this one for way too long. It doesn't seem like much upfront, which is why I usually smell it in the store and forget about it, but after you let it sit for a while you really get green/aquatic feel and it has almost the exact "freshly showered" type of profile I'm looking for. Excellent daily for fresh/aquatic lovers as it smells great but won't overwhelm the room. Perfect to wear to work or any casual setting, or a few sprays after the gym. I would like a little more of the Bergamot or other citrus notes, but that's just my personal preference and the aquatic/mossy notes are still great (and to me, just a little bit of mild wood). Overall a very pleasant scent. After finally giving it a real shot I can see why it's still on shelves. I'm afraid to finally buy it though because BBW has a habit of discontinuing my favorite scents (still haven't forgiven them for Eau So Navy). But this one seems to have been a staple for years now so hopefully it'll stick around a while longer. I'll have to stock up while the weather is warm!

A cleaned up and slightly modernized Acqua Di Gio inspired by/clone fragrance that would make for a gym/dumb reach fragrance. Bergamot, watery notes, and synthetic oakmoss come together to form one of the easiest to wear, and easiest to understand freshies I’ve smelled in awhile. Very clearly inspired by ADG (the OG) but simplified. There is a pretty distinctive “mall fragrance” vibe to this, but I think 98% of people (not fragheads) can get over this as this profile is so supremely universally appealing. Not the best BB&BW fragrance, that goes to bourbon, but still extremely likable. Less than average performance and projection, but you get what you pay for. 7/10. Side note: while this fragrance is good, ADG imo is much better and not much more expensive from discounters than this is at retail. Try it out!

Definitely attractive. It’s isn’t a complex cologne that needs time to unravel in order to show its many facets. No. This is a straightforward fragrance that says “I’m going to show you the best of me from the get go”. But don’t expect more than that. And to be quite frankly, it accomplishes the task well. It’s fresh, easy to wear, casual and safe. The opening is a light aquatic that soon enough is taken over by the oak moss. After that you stay with a lingering skin scent that disappears in a couple of hours (if lucky). If you find it on sale ( I did for $19.99) go for it.

Fresh, bright, and clean aquatic. Probably the best smelling of the men's Bath and Body Works lineup, which admittedly isn't much of a feat considering the others are extremely generic and weak, so it certainly is a rare stand out. Not that there is much unique complexity to Freshwater, but what it does it does pretty well.

I had the body wash, this is what I imagine a fragrance counter at Dillard’s smelling like around the late 80s, early 90s. (I wasn’t alive back then). Clean and green, with a medium amount of musk. One of my favorite Bath & Body Works scents.

Smells 90% like the original ADG but with better performance, which isn't saying much with the current version of ADG. I sprayed ADG on one hand and this on the other. I got about 2 hours more longevity with the Freshwater.

Smells like a lighter, fresher version of the classic Acqua di Gio. I like it a lot, maybe more than AdG. But for ~$50 per 100ml bottle (where I live), I'd rather get AdG, especially knowing how weak these BBW releases are.

Now that somebody mentioned Aqua Di Gio, I cannot unsmell this as not Aqua Di Gio in my second sampling. It really is close to ADG by 90% maximum. My favorite scent from B&BW is still Graphite and the new Gingham. 7.8/10

To me, it’s Versace Pour Homme mixed with the top notes of Acqua Di Gio. I like using the lotion after I shower. It’s a very mild fragrance so don’t get the body care expecting it to project.

I’ve got the lotion. Smells like the Pandora section of animal kingdom at Disney world, which is a high fuckin compliment. I’d get this in more if I wasne doing that stupid project pan

The performance isn't good which had me disappointed however the fresh scent really is great and this the scent I wear when I get out of the shower and I love layering it.

I am shocked by how few reviews this has. I’m not a Bath&Bodyworks fan but this is a hidden gem. I bought this for my son because the axe body sprays were either headache inducing or nauseating. I actually like the lingering smell this leaves in his room. And believe me, that’s a first. But best of all he thinks it is great so it’s a win-win. Next time you pass B&BW in the mall give this a try, you might be pleasantly surprised like I was. It is highly rated by reviews on their website. The name Freshwater really suits it. I don’t particularly smell bergamot or oakmoss. It smells very fresh, like fresh air where you can’t pinpoint a certain smell, it just smells so pleasant that you double back for another whiff. It’s a “you smell good scent” not a “your cologne smells good” scent.

Simple and easy: big, juicy Bergamot, loud and clear. Dries down softly to mossy, woody skinscent. Somewhat on the sweet side, unisex if not leaning a tad masculine much like its sibling, Ocean. I thought I would only like this in warmer weather, but it actually works quite well in cooler weather because it gives wonderful "Earl grey tea by the window on a rainy day" vibes.

AdG with a little bit of something like Polo Blue/CK Eternity Aqua... If you find it on sale for $20, its better then a kick in the teeth. Anything over $20 and its not worth a second look. Not because it smells bad, obviously it doesn't. There are just better options in the $40 (non-sale) price range. But this would workout just fine for a number of folks..

I too would call this a "sleeper" Very nice fragrance, fresh and clean with a great dry down. I'm not crazy about the opening notes but once it settles in its very nice. I have had no problems with sillage or longevity. In fact, I have to be cautious not to over-do the sprays. Apparently, It likes my body chemistry.

I used the body spray version at a friend's house after I forgot to spray on cologne and I smelled after working on a project. Straight up ADG. 100%, instantly smells like it. From what I hear this has better performance too. May as well cop it instead of ADG if you like that scent DNA

I didn't realize that BBW also has the fragrance version. lol. Anyway, I'm reviewing this based on the body wash shower gel version. I'm soooo loving the bergamot in Freshwater. I also added bergamot essential oil and mixing it with the shower gel (just to enhance the citrus profile).

Once a popular fragrance reviewer reviews this fragrance, it’s over for this hidden gem, the secret will be out lol. Picked this up today while randomly browsing BBW and wow what a great fragrance. Everything you’re looking for in a fresh fragrance, blind buy worthy.

I love this scent. I agree with the previous review, smells just like Acqua Do Gio but much more affordable. I bought my 14 year old son the hair and body wash. When he gives me a hug goodnight he smells so nice. Very fresh and unisex scent. Would wear myself!

I don't own this but I spray it on every time I am in bath and body works. It might lean a little more masculine but I find it pretty unisex. I like it on myself and would definitely like smelling it on a guy. Not super exciting but pleasant and fresh.

This smells exactly like Burberry Brit Splash. So if you have Brit Splash pick up Freshwater body wash and lotion and you have an amazing combo.

Hands down the old school Acqua Di Gio. I’ve owned my original bottle since ‘01 and this is spot on. Excellent buy when it goes on sale !

I’m extremely surprised that this one never gets compared to aqua di gio. It smells so similar.

No hype here.invest in a better scent. Weak for the price!
