Gingham Glow

Marigold and Cane Sugar on vacation with alittle bit of Sunkissed and a little bit of Golden Sunflower, much lighter than both, yet ambery solar and sweet. It's a balsamic sweeter version of the happy youthful Marigold and Cane Sugar imo, which I always loved, so it features sweeter deeper solar elements, utilizing the happy uplifting scent of the marigold. It's like the Sunkissed mist of the marigold flower, and it also has the honey sweet vibe and the dusty yellow floral element of Golden Sunflower, just not as pungent syrupy as Golden Sunflower and not as dusty floral as that (Anyone recalls how dusty Fresh cut lilacs smells? well it's not like that). More wearable than Golden Sunflower too. Its opening is sweet while the drydown isn't as syrupy sweet, but more floral, kinda like the orange blossom of Sunkissed or Tropidelic's ylang ylang. I smell a little Tropidelic in it too, both being light yet solar and floral. So Gingham Glow (I'm always about to type "Gingham Gold" cuz it smells like liquid gold to me lol) is in the same solar sweet balsamic family of Sunkissed, Golden sunflower (orange flower), Getaway Soiree and MK wonderlust sublime (orange blossom, amber). I am not surprised people listed some of these in the "reminds me of" list. I love the deep honey-like sweet solar essence of Gingham Glow, similar to that of Sunkissed, without the salty vanilla overload of that one (sundrenched orange blossom there). It is not as heavy and as balsamic as Getaway Soiree (sunkissed mandarin - solar musk), but when I see "solar" and "sunkissed" in the wording of the notes, as with the "sun-soaked sandalwood" here, I know they have put some orange blossom in it and amber too, no matter if they don't always list them in the notes, as in Michael Kors Wonderlust sublime (orange blossom and amber, plus tiare flower there). So same sweet solar "sun tan" lotion vibe here too. Orange blossom/flower and amber or vanilla are usually the secret. When I smell my skin up close I detect orange blossom in Gingham Glow. It's more wearable than Getaway Soiree which is similar to Tom Ford's Soleil Blank (ylang ylang orange blossom, amber, tonka etc). I list Tropidelic in the same league like I said, with its ylang ylang which acts like orange blossom and it's rather floral like Gingham Glow is, but Tropidelic smells more fresh without syrupy sweetness. From both I sense a jasmine/gardenia intoxicating scent from the passion flower ylang ylang there, and the marigold sun-soaked sandalwood here. It's such an unexpected twist for me in Gingham Glow; this blend of the sweet marigold and the solar ambery notes gives me the impression of gardenia/jasmine on my skin even from the opening, I really love that aspect of it. At times it even gives me a beachy vibe like Mariah Carey's Dreams, but Gingham Glow isn't salty or caramel-sweet, it's much lighter. It smells so beautiful, feminine and ethereal in the summer breeze, but sweet enough like the hot sun rays of July. It's my new favorite out of the whole solar family. The marigold starts developing right away along with the honey-sweet notes and intensifies with a realistic yellow flowery element from it similar to Marigold and Cane sugar, slightly dusty flowery like flowers in the sun, very realistic. This flowery part reminds me of Golden Sunflower which is similar to Marc Jacobs Honey, but Gingham Glow is more ethereal than both, without any vanilla. The solar element (some orange blossom and amber perhaps) is balanced so I don't get the usual camphor weird scent that I get from some BBW perfumes with solar notes and flower blossoms (I get that stinky smell from Tropidelic a bit, the Sunkissed shower gel and the At the beach lotion). I gifted Getaway Soiree to my mom, but she called me just to ask me what the heck did I give her lol it smells like church incense to her, too heavy she said, but she likes Gingham Glow and she adores Tropidelic. Tropidelic is the least sweet of the bunch, very similar to Korres Sikinos btw, and Sikinos came out first so not sure if BBW got some inspo from it. The mist smells better on me than the perfume, but I love the traces of the perfume on my skin after 3 hrs. Both are not long lasting. Getaway Soiree is so intense it lasts all day on me.

Very pretty, Happy, floral, warm, sunny, delicately sweet, uplifting, bright, cozy, woody, cheerful, feminine, whimsical, joyful, and charming. It’s such a delightful fragrance! It has this really lovely golden feel to it, like that golden hour in the evening. You feel the warmth of the Sun on your shoulders as you gaze out over a field of marigolds, sunflowers, and wildflowers. Such a bright, whimsical, and joyful feeling that just makes you smile. There’s almost a nostalgic feeling to this one that I thoroughly enjoy. Gingham Glow is a such lovely, warm, and sunny golden floral scent with a delicately sweet honeyed nectar dripping through it, and the slightly sweet and creamy, aromatic woody warmth of sandalwood. I feel like there’s also got to be some syrupy orange blossom in here adding to the sweetness as well as some vanilla and amber because it has such a warm and golden feel to it. There’s also just a touch of something sun tan lotion like. This is such a perfect fragrance for summer, fall, and especially that transitional period between the two. I think the packaging is very fitting and that it’s very aptly named Gingham Glow because it really does give this overall beautiful feel of a golden warmth. I do find this to be somewhat similar to B&BW Copper Fields and oddly enough, even a bit like Tom Ford Soleil Blanc. I get good performance with Gingham Glow, especially when I’m using the shower gel, lotion, and mist together. The longevity is really nice, it lasts throughout the whole day on me. The projection is decent too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. Out of this year’s B&BW Fall and Halloween fragrances I bought the Gingham Glow gift set (mist, lotion, shower gel, hand cream), and the mist, lotion, and shower gel of Vanilla Romance (sooo incredible!), Dark Kiss, Wicked Vanilla Woods, and just the lotion Candy Apple Cauldron. Overall, I was even more impressed with my order (a blind buy) than I’d expected to be! I’m enjoying everything, but Vanilla Romance and Wicked Vanilla Woods are definitely my favorites (I’m a major vanilla fan!)! I also ended up placing a 2nd order for Blueberry Bundt Cake, Autumn Drive, Champagne Apple & Honey, Together Weather, and more Cozy Vanilla Bourbon... all of which are amazing!

Omg omg omg!!!!!! I was thinking where did I smell this scent before and someone here mentioned Mugler Alien Goddess! Yes, it has very similar scent or more like a dupe for Mugler. Surprisingly the scent sticks really well on my wrist compared side by side to Bbw Luminous which is both tested at the same time, on the wrist, both Edp. I had to grab it after about an hour of testing it from the store. This fragrance also had similar scent or vibes as the new Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal Absolu, which i tried on a tester paper, right after leaving bbw store to have some thoughts. Right now, this scent can be bought at a fraction of the price of either JPG or Mugler. I just grab a bottle that is on sale and it's so worth it. If anyone like Alien Goddess from Mugler, most likely they will like this too!

"Summer Afternoon, Summer Afternoon..the two prettiest words in the English language." This gorgeous Sandalwood dream in a bottle is going to run out before Summer ends. I didn't get the body spray because BBW sprays last all of 5 minutes so I went straight to the perfume. I get Sandalwood, Amber, Hibiscus and light Citrus zest. Summer White Sunset by Avon is the closest perfume to this one but without the "sweet fruit". I love it.

This smells like a luxury hotel. Smells fresh, floral, creamy, and a hint of sweetness. I wasn't expecting to like it being that I'm a gourmand fanatic but it layers well with a lot of fragrances to add a touch of creamy floral.

SUCH an underrated BBW SCENT! It's bright, slightly bitter but still sweet gorgeous summer scent. It does remind me of soliel blanc bit more floral and feminine.

smells amazing, to me it has a almost skin scent drydown which i loveeeee but besides from that it’s summery sunscreeny beachy goodness

This is pretty, inoffensive, and crisp. Great for daytime or at an office. Gingham Glow really captures the feeling of kissing summer good bye on that last day of September. The marigold adds a unique touch and I don't have anything else with that note in my collection. But this perfume is missing something. I loved pairing it with Mango Mood and le vie Est Belle Soleil Cristal to get a kick from the patchouli. I do not agree with the Alien goddess comparisons, because Gingham Glow has no coconut, vanilla, or cashmere. Alien goddess is also a sunscreen scent, which Gingham Glow is not. The bottle is cute but I do not think it justifies the $59.95 price tag. Please purchase at a sale or get the lotion and body spray combo instead. The body spray has less longevity but not by much. 6/10.

Such an easy grab for everyday wear. Surprisingly this has really good performance and lasting power. Somewhat linear, but that's OK... It's still GOOD. Some would say it's for warmer weather, but I had a craving for it in the 20° weather we are currently having. But I believe you should wear fragrances whenever you'd like. 7/10

Not terrible, but not amazing either. It’s different from your typical Bath & Body Works scents, which I liked, but the alcohol is way too strong and ends up smelling more like hand sanitizer than perfume.

I get very heavy floral vibes with some sweetness. It’s a nice, soft scent that doesn’t scream in your face and is more of just a background scent

Bath and Body Works is trying to reinvent Alien Goddess and sell it to you in a cuter bottle. At this point they’ve invented every smell known to man and are now at the stage where they keep rereleasing the same stuff under different names. I guess if you’re too broke to afford Mugler stuff this is a good alternative. It’s just not a real stand out fragrance

I think I speak for the masses when I say ..Enough with the sunscreen scents!!! This isn't a bad scent by any means but when the same company gives you three within the same season it's just overkill.

I tested this on the skin at the mall. I walked by B&BW and smelled an intoxicating, beautiful smell like buttery, ambery sunflowers or something. I had to try it! I sprayed one spray on my forearm and walked around the mall and went dress shopping. I loved the scent and intended to go back and grab a 3 piece set. However, as I kept shopping, it was really starting to bother me. It was so overpowering, way too sweet (and I love sweet!). It was like it got stronger the more it dried down. I tried to scrub it off in the bathroom and while it helped some, it was still really strong. I felt so sick and nauseous. I cannot wear this as it was just too much for me. I've never really had this happen with any perfumes or body sprays. I would be interested as a room freshener or candle. It smells gorgeous in the air, but cloying and suffocating on my skin.

Didn't believe this would be a sunscreen scent given the notes. But alas, this is sunscreen through and through. I'd say this is closest to Getaway Soiree (At the Beach is more floral, Solar Shine has more coconut). Disappointed.

It's not bad, but it's not quite my cup of tea. It does have a marigold type smell for sure. It smells a lot like a marigold balm I have that is made from real marigold/calendula. It reminds me of Dior's Poison Girl, but like a more floral, beachy, sun screeny version. It's just ok to me. I don't know how much I will really use it. Might use it for air freshener. It kind of gives that vibe anyway. I agree that it seems like it would be an autumn scent based off marketing and previous releases. Has no Gingham dna in it, but neither do any of the other Gingham scents, which has been disappointing tbh. Just slapping the Gingham name on yet another unrelated scent. I would have liked to see this marketed as a summery, beachy scent instead. Beach Bouquet would have been a better name.

It’s so unique! It reminds me a bit of Olympea. They both have sandalwood and woody&balsamic notes. It’s a perfect summer scent. I wore it to the beach and the first time I wore it I got a compliment. It has decent silage and projection. One of the stronger BBW fragrances. It is definitely not super light like gingham gorgeous. It is a sexy mature scent as far as bbw scents go. I got the fine fragrance mist and the shimmer spray. I especially love the shimmer spray because I think the shimmer compliments the “glowing” aspect well. The shimmer spray has especially good sillage.

I can't make up my mind about this scent. Sometimes I love it and other times I don't like it at all. First, it's STRONG. I mean this scent is overpowering to me when sprayed. Initially I get sunscreen, beachy floral and laundry detergent. I don't like this part of the scent. It's too much. I do love the base notes though. Once this thing calms down I get a creamy cashmere with a hint of white florals and it's beautiful. I wish I didn't have to go through the overpowering sunscreen top notes to get to this part. I'm on the fence if I will keep or return.

All I smell is Gucci Bloom the yellow and pink bloom are pretty much identical to my nose IMO but if you wanna be specific Gingham Glow and Gucci Bloom Profumo Di Fiori (yellow bottle ) smell pretty identical this fragrance might be slightly sweeter . And I’m not mad about it because it’s one of my signature scents . I also get a bit of golden sunflower in this . Very sunny/ warm white floral the sandalwood gives it a creaminess and some depth. I love layering with vanilla perfume oils to pull more warmth from this.

I am obsessed with this. I don’t usually wear florals as I prefer spicy, woody, and green scents. But something about this is SO GOOD. I bought the entire line at the semi annual sale (winter 2024) which makes me sad because that means it probably will be discontinued. But it’s definitely a radiant, woody floral. Unique from other florals but not offensive for an office setting.
