Guilty As Fig

I've never smelled Father Figure, but if it smells anything like Guilty as Fig, I may have to give it a try. When I first smelled the body lotion at BBW, I got a distinct smell of watery body odor. I thought fig was going to be one of my ~death notes~. Later that week I found out I had an ear infection that made everything smell bad to me. That was a painful realization. When I went back, I gave GaF a try and it smelled beautiful and complex. Unlike most scents at BBW, this is not overly sweet, and surprisingly complex. The Fig note is slightly sweet and earthy and the jasmine brings a layer of creaminess. The musk settles nicely on the skin and lingers for a while. It's soft enough to wear to the office or everyday. I'm also happy with it's performance in warm to very hot weather, even though I prefer it in transitional seasons. It's slightly feminine, but no overtly girlish. Men can comfortably wear this, but they ay find the heavy jasmine girlish. It's not the typical scent profile for Bath & Body Works but it still has that mass-appealing quality that most of their scents have. If your store has it, I would try this and let it develop on the skin. It's worth your while. I'm incredibly satisfied with the EDP concentration as well as the Fine Fragrance Mist. I would love to repurchase this since its such a great value for the price. This scent will inevitably get discontinued, so I may investigate Phlur Father Figure and see if it'll scratch my figgy itch long term.

just a heads up that i’ve never smelled father figure or an actual fig before, so do with that as you will. this is a lovely, lovely fragrance. i feel like a beautiful nymph, frolicking through the trees, when i’m wearing this. put this on to tease the local satyrs. put this on to make the sun god fall hopelessly in love with you. put this on when you feel like turning into a ficus plant. she’s clean and creamy and a touch sweet, but still nice and green. the jasmine adds a nice touch of elegance, but the musk and the fig are the stars of the show in my opinion. not masculine, at all to me? too floral for typical “manly” tastes. (i would chase down a man wearing this though). the musk smells very similar to that used in “missing person” by phlur, especially in the lotion. does smell slightly body wash-esque, but i don’t think it smells cheap or anything. natural smelling, but not too outdoorsy. glass greenhouse kind of nature-y. probably won’t offend the others around you. i adore this and i want to lick it off my wrists and pour it over my head like a drunken reveler with a bottle of champagne. the vibes: a renaissance painting still in the terre verte stages. an afternoon of dancing barefoot in the elysian fields, dewdrops on your skin. laying in the arms of a fig tree as the wind strokes your face and pets your hair.

Bath and Body Works, why do you make these beautiful scents and then discontinue them??? I LOVE this scent. It is a light and pretty musk with the delicous note of fig. There are no "green" notes per se, but it comes off as fresh and green. Maybe it's the woody impression it gives. I also own the body cream & FFM, which is great for layering. If this ever comes back to BBW, I will buy it all up! As for how it compares to Phlur's Father Figure, it's not a 100% spot on replica, since I think FF is a little sweeter, but for the price point, it's pretty darn close. My only complaint is I while it lasts a very long time on my skin and closes, it doesn't project as much as I'd like--it's a very intimate skin scent.

I tried this before even knowing what Father Figure was and I was instantly obsessed. Opening notes are very fresh, and the dry down has a bit of the masculine scent that FF has. However, since I’ve been wearing this for the past few months I have noticed that at the end of the day it begins to get a little funky. I’m not sure how to explain it. Specifically I can smell it on my wash cloth and towel after showering. I didn’t wear it for about 2 weeks and the smell was gone, and then after wearing again it was back. I just worry that I am smelling like BO now, maybe my chemistry doesn’t work as well as I initially thought it did??

I haven’t tried Father Figure by Phlur, but from what I’ve heard, Guilty as Fig is a pretty solid dupe. It’s got that juicy, green fig vibe with a creamy, slightly musky finish that makes it feel fresh but still cozy. Niche scents like Phlur’s probably have more depth, but for the price, this is a great way to get that figgy goodness without spending a ton. If you’re into fig scents, it’s definitely worth it. I sprayed a ton into my hair and got a bunch of compliments from a friend after a hug, so it is definitely a close-to-skin scent, but one that leaves you smelling divine. A scent that seems universally enjoyed.

It is mainly green moss and fern to me, with some oakmoss bass. I do finally detect the jasmine on the second day of use, but it's blended so well that it doesn't seem like a "floral" fragrance. I have the body cream, which has staying power but stays close to you. A nice treat for whoever decides to give you a hug. ;) They'll want to keep hugging you too because you smell GREAT! It reminds me of Tommy Girl in the sense that it is a "mass appeal" kinda scent despite not being a typical girly fragrance. This is gym and workplace safe, very inoffensive.

I love Guilty as Fig!! I have Father Figure as well which I switch out with this and the dry down is nearly 100% identical on my skin. I don't get as much of the "green"-ness in this, something about it is very sweet and creamy compared to FF, the latter which feels a little more cooler and woody. Pretty solid dupe (or even as a standalone scent) for a great price though not as long lasting as the original! Also leans a little more feminine compared to FF which feels more unisex, though I can see anyone rocking this especially in warmer weather

I bought the mini EDT. I’m probably getting the full size for the summer. I think this fragrance is really gonna shine in hot weather. It’s a yummy gourmand with hints of floral and musk. BBW has the body creme and mist, but no body wash yet. I hope they get it soon. It is more intimate wearing, but in a good way. People will get a whiff of you, and want to lean in closer. This would be perfect for going on a date because of that.

This one is my fav of the new luxury dupes. The combination of the fig & musk with the jasmine is sooooo beautiful. Powdery, fresh & clean. I typically lean more towards a fruity, flirty sweet fragrance, but something about this one makes me want to bathe in it. I love it so much. But the longevity sucks. I've never tried father figure or sunfruit but I really want to after reading the comparisons.

i have to start by saying father figure is my favorite perfume. my signature, if you will. this is INSANE. it’s so similar, i love it. the edp probably won’t replace father figure (although if you’re on a budget, go for it), but it’s so exciting to have an entire line of body wash, lotion, etc in this scent. i’m living my dream fig-scented life.

Like most of us, I’ve smelled my fair share of Bath & Body Work products. They’re tend to be pleasant, but often very generic fragrances. However, every once in a while, BBW will do a fragrance that is noteworthy. This is one of those times. For me, the fig is definitely notable, giving it a touch of sweet, which is balanced out by the musk.

this is an EXACT dupe of father figure. i don't think i need to buy the original ever again. i can't tell if the longevity is poor or if i get anosmic, although when i spray it on clothes i can smell it for hours. b&bw is usually a miss for me but they took a big swing and knocked it out of the park. i'll be wearing this all summer for sure

This smells clean sweet and comforting. I keep smelling myself . This is definitely nice for running errands in warm temps. Pleasant and non offensive . You don’t feel like your perfume is turning weird when your body temp goes up from being outside .. I’m really liking this

Yes... I see the resemblance to Father Figure.... Both are lovely, but I prefer Guilty As Fig. So clean and so luxe. So much so, a man went out of his way to tell me how good smelled while wearing this! I have to agree with him... I love it.

My gosh I love this!! I don’t usually love BBW. I didn’t love vanilla romance at all... but this and covered in roses are really well done happy little scents!! They literally better bring this back!! I do love it more than FF!!

I love this more than father figure and just as I go to get a FB? It’s gone! 😭 every perfume I fall for becomes discontinued! Love the mix of fig jasmine and musk it’s just so female so sexy grr bring it back pls!!

i got this the other day and i'm sincerely obsessed with it, i don't think i've ever liked a b&bw scent so much. which i guess means i should go ahead and try father figure lol

Amazing fresh scent for spring and summer. Fig fragrances are finally getting the recognition they deserve for making fresh fragrances with hints of fruity sweetness.

An almost identical dupe for Father Figure. Great projection and longevity for a non “designer” fragrance. I can see this one being a crowd favorite.

I love this and so happy I got the perfume, body spray and lotion before it was discontinued. BBW did their thing with this one!

When I get something from B&BW, I don't expect much. I don't expect the lotions to moisturize well, I don't expect the soaps to clean well, and I don't expect thr fragrances to last. That said, Guilty as Fig is one of their stronger performers, and the scent seems to draw positive feedback. This fragrance reads very sweet, feminine, and mature on me. I feel like a high school french teacher when I wear it. The dry down brings out more musk, but it remains pretty sweet. I thought this might be a good spring seasonal scent for me, but it reads more autumnal on my skin. Nevertheless, it's hard to complain for the price. It doesn't smell cheap, and people don't immediately guess that it's from B&BW. So I'm calling it a win and wearing the heck out of it before April.

My review is based off the body mist. Juicy fig - check, Jasmine - check but the musk - that comes in the dry down. The fig & jasmine almost fight each other for top note with the musk being the referee. I personally love it. I have yet to compare it to Father Figure by Phlur but I've heard it's a near identical dupe from a lot of the creators on YouTube, IG & TikTok. This is one of the those scents you'll either super love or absolutely detest.

This is an excellent dupe for Phlur's Father Figure. Such a beautiful fig scent, and although it's not listed, there is this cozy creaminess to it. It's not too earthy, it is still pretty sweet, cozy, and beautiful. It's definitely less strong than Father Figure. It almost melts into the skin and becomes a skin scent. I figure that if I'm a big fan of this one, then I'll actually invest in Father Figure.

FF is one of my favorites from my collection. My only problem with it is projection and longevity. This isn’t an exact dupe, but it’s close and layering it with FF helps not spend the extra money on new bottles of it. I really like the lotion as well. This is sweeter and almost had a soapy quality imo and not as much depth. Still really enjoy it.

BBW really nailed Father Figure, but the longevity just isn’t there. If the price were lower for the EDP I’d recommend it, but if you love this smell I’d just spring the extra money for the original—I think it’s worth it for the performance. I am thrilled to have the body lotion though, which smells amazing and layers great with Father Figure.

Better than father figure, and I say that as someone who loves Phlur! I feel like this scent isn’t as transformative as FF, but I don’t like the opening of FF so I love love love guilty as fig in comparison- I feel like it’s straight to the point and perfect. Staying power for the price is great. really incredible dupe! :)

I like this for a clean scent. I agree with a previous review-this smells like a high end shampoo. Good for when you want something light and fresh. This review is for the actual perfume-it lasted a good 10 hours on, so no complaints with longevity. I bought the travel size and it’s a great value fir $15.

I just used my free reward on the mini perfume. This is by far the best of the new luxury releases. I'm not sure how it compares to Father Figure but it definitely reminds me of something else I can't quite pin down. 100% gonna grab the body mist when there's a sale. 💚💚💚

smells so similar to father figure by phlur! identical in the opening, but this dries down to a more powdery vanilla, losing the fig and freshness from the opening. longevity is not there, but a nice alternative to father figure

I'm just gonna say it... I think like this more than Father Figure. It's less powdery and more juicy/shampooy. So sad they took it away..

Sugary sweet fig wrapped in a musky summer air. It gives me the Jo Malone's Wood Sage & Sea Salt vibe. Very pretty.

I tried this purely as a fig france because I didn't know until I got on here that other people were trying it as a dupe of Father Figure, which I've never tried. Just as a fig france: meh. I love figs and would love a realistic fig perfume, but this hides the fig with the musk and florals and it smells both too sweet and also too musky. I want my fruit flavors to be substitutes for eating fruit, it has to be realistic and not have anything in it that I wouldn't want to eat. If you call it fig I expect a true gourmand.

I love fig, but this is more of a green fig versus a fruity/jammy fig which I prefer. A nice, clean, easygoing scent, just not for me.

If Bath and body Warm vanilla sugar and Jovan musk had a baby - that’s what this smells like to me ..

went to smell in store after seeing reviews that it smelt like phlur's FF, which intrigues me, although for that price point + not avail in my country i was not willing to blind buy FF.... and all i can say is that if this is what FF smells like then i'm extra glad i didn't blind buy...just smells screechy, synthetic, generic sweetness that may have been a fig once upon a time...was on major sales and STILL i couldn't bring myself to bring it home with me.

This is my least favorite from BBW new luxury collection. I don't get the fig in this at all. It's a "green" fragrance, and very musky. There is something else in this besides the three listed notes that does not work in this fragrance. It stinks in my opinion. Sorry, but not sorry. I would not recommend this.

The way this opens is pretty - clean, soft, cozy. When this dries down I get a bit of a dusty, musty vibe somewhere in there. It throws me off. When I smelled this in store, I immediately bought a travel spray of the EDP based on the opening but now I'm hardly reaching for it.

Amazing for Spring/Summer. The body spray version is just as great. To those that claim this as being too masculine maybe aren't familiar with fig. I can kinda see what they mean though. My brief impression when i was soaking it all in was "Hm, this passes as a lovely unisex". I think fig is a fancy fruit with a complex aroma so it's an acquired taste. I love how my skin absorbs it nicely and will not turn sour.

This is my favorite of the new everyday luxuries line. I have not smelled its inspiration so I cannot compare. This is the perfect clean, slightly fruity, luxury resort shampoo smell. Fresh and yet just powdery enough to work in the cooler weather. Smells way more sophisticated than I usually associate with B&BW scents.

Spot on dupe for Father Figure (which I adore and wear often). Fruity but watery and a bit green, fresh and unisex, not sweet. I don't know if I would pay what is being asked for a BBW EdP. Probably going to layer the BBW body mist over the original Father Figure to boost longevity.

The body mist smells better than the perfume on this one! And bonus: it’s cheaper. If you spray the mist version and walk through it, the scent stays really nicely on your clothes with a light projection. The perfume version isn’t as good and disappears on the skin quickly.

This is slightly better than FF in my opinion due to increased performance. It smells identical. So glad l have quite a stash of this because l will wear it all spring and summer, l could never tire of this. Hopefully they bring this back soon!

This is quite a compliment getter for me, I've gotten many questions about what I'm wearing. I think I like this better than phlur, I have everything in the guilty as fig line. In love with it.

This is far more similar to Ledda 22 orris & ellis brooklyn sunfruit than it is father figure. I know they’re all similar to each other to begin with, but that’s just my two cents

For those sad about this fragrance being discontinued by BBW, try giving The Dua Brand's Hidden Gardens a whirl! I have it and love it. Smells identical and projects far longer.
