Japanese Cherry Blossom

Japanese Cherry Blossom from B&BW is powdery sweet floral, musky and woody. It feels like it has some hidden 90s powdery peach and vanilla notes in it as well. Warm and clean but not fresh. There is no cherry in it so don't go into this thinking it'll be fruity. I really like it as someone in my early 20s and I think this could be an easy reach for colder weather if I want a mist that smells more like a perfume. It would be convenient for travel if I ever have to go on a fall or winter trip. Absolutely not blind buy safe nowadays because it's different from what's popular in current fragrance trends. This fragrance is in the same family as things like Tresor, Exclamation, Avon Far Away, etc. which could explain why some people are calling it an "old lady" scent. Is Japanese Cherry Blossom dated? Yeah, it's a very 90s style of fragrance. Is it an old lady scent? I don't think enough time has passed for it to 100% qualify as that. This scent profile is relatively recent and what I believe paved the way for many sweet, often vanilla-forward fragrances popular today. Nothing bold like chypres, bitter greens, heavy spices or smoke here! It's a cozy scent that envelops you in a warm hug. JCB seems to have a bad reputation with a lot of online B&BW fans and people often wonder how it hasn't been discontinued already and questioning why it's a bestseller if "nobody" likes it. The truth is that there has to be many people that gravitate towards this older scent profile and they are likely not the ones who collect and talk online about the brand. It's probably just a more affordable version of the fragrances some people like, or nostalgia for JCB itself. A problem with this body mist is the fact that the liquid in its current formulation is bright red. It stains the paper tester and stains clothes too. Hopefully it's something that can easily be washed out of fabric. I feel like the red colour sets up false fruity expectations anyways and an amber colour like in Tresor would suit it more. Can't blame people for disliking it due to past memories... but otherwise I'm defending JCB! Just don't overspray, it's stronger than some other B&BW mists and can get pretty powdery.

They could never make me hate you, Japanese Cherry Blossom 🌸❤️ But it's very possible that I only love this scent because of nostalgia, since it was one of the first fragrances I owned back in the early 2010s, in a shimmer mist. I feel like the bottle was always beautiful. If I had never smelled this before and was just introduced to it now I fear I wouldn't like it... On my skin it just smells like slightly floral powder. On clothes the floral scent seems to stay a little longer. Okay, as I'm smelling it right now I'm realizing that maybe this isn't that good... But I still love it 🥲 ETA: I wonder if it might have been a little bit different 15ish years ago Also I wish it had more sweetness. WHERE is the pear??? I don't smell pear at all and I wish I did

So.. for many years I stayed away from Japanese Cherry Blossom, avoided at all costs given that EVERYONE says this smells like either an old lady or hospital.. but I swear, after wearing this fragrance for a few days I literally am so ready to get a full bottle and maybe the entire line. This to me smells sweet, floral, powdery and fresh, and LASTS so long on skin and clothing. It makes me feel comfort? Which I’m not sure why given that my mother or anyone in my family ever worn this scent given its reputation? But to me this smells so good, and honestly doesn’t deserve the hate it gets, the bottle is so damn pretty too. If this was reformulated maybe tone down on the powder, and add a bit more freshness to it but other than that this is perfect as is ❤️🌸

Hated it at first- then one day decided to wear to work instead of my Lost Cherry (not saying there's any similarity- just didn't want to use my good shit for work) Something clicked and I fell in love with it. I think it was the sandalwood in the dry down and just the amazing breeze I caught after. JCB is very well rounded/ versatile and goes well with my body- the "all in 1 fragrance" IMO , can see why it's a cult classic of BBW. Honestly won't wear anything else from them now; can be worn year round. Very nice clean after shower smell. If you like florals like Chanel No.5, or muskier fresh fruity smells- JCB is def worth a try.

Es un aroma muy único, lo compre a ciegas y me encantó, es un perfume maduro y floral en dónde vivo no es un tipo de fragancia muy común y eso me gusta, tiene una proyección, moderada lo único negativo es que necesita muchas pulverizaciones para que se pueda llegar a percibir *bien*, aunque en la ropa dura más, para mí es mentira eso de que te mancha la ropa porque en lo personal no me pasó, es un perfume para el día a día, no es para nada dulce de hecho huele mucho a sándalo con flores muy parecido a cuando oles un incienso fresco, yo uso este perfume combinado con el flower by kenzo y quedan muy bien juntos

I know a lot of people don’t like this but I doooo. This to me is like a “innocent sweet girl” scent, it’s soft, floral, sweet, and slightly powdery. Think about that one girl in your life that is just so kind to everyone and pure, this is her in a bottle in my opinion and I live for it in fact I’m probably gonna get the perfume version. I’d say this perfume is for middle schoolers all the way up to mid 30s. It’s super basic but basic is likable and there’s nothing wrong with that 🫶 embrace your basicness girliepops 🌷⭐️🌸

Best scent at BBW period. Not cloying at all smh. I've loved it the moment I first smelled it many years ago, and the love is going strong ya'll. I have friends who don't like fragrances compliment me every time I wear it. Stop spraying 20 sprays all over and then complain it's cloying tf. Do you know how many lives japanese cherry blossom have saved? jk but like fr tho.

I don't know how old the bottle I smelled just now was but you guys must be getting duds or are spraying it too much because this is one of the most beautiful and feminine body mist from bath and body works (and just in general) the cherry blossom note is soooo strong but I can smell every note listed and they just blend in the best way. Far from b&bw's worst scent <3

This to me is the epitome of “polite” very inoffensive. If it were a person it would be the cute sweet shy girl that is very kind and you can’t hate. BUT if you over spray it WILL smell very cheap and synthetic not gonna lie. It’d be good for very very casual events or sick days because it won’t project very far it just won’t and I like it for that reason.

i used to wear this in high school. i have since ran out of a bottle that i used for years, and i have never once got tired of this scent. the cherry blossom is super sweet and addictive, and its balanced out perfectly with the sandalwood and musk. it's amazing for layering. although not my favorite body mist from bbw, this one is perfect for spring.

I don’t understand why anyone would “hate” this. It’s floral, clean, and slightly powdery. It’s simple and beautiful. I understand why some people say it’s for an older audience but anyone can weird this and just smell pretty and put together for cheap. I recently got the lotion version after 10 years of not smelling it, and I’m so happy.

very old lady-like in the most lovely way. i love this spray soo much. it’s floral, very powdery and almost.. chalky? i cant think of any other way to describe it but it’s not bad in the slightest. a very comforting scent, and it especially works as someone who often goes for more vintage/retro looks

its a soft floral fragrance. i personally hate florals and am more of a vanilla person but this one is still a very good fragrance to me because the florals aren't harsh or old lady-ish. smells like floraly clean laundry and is very long lasting. Basically an elegant perfumey smell and a good one

In my opinion this is a very wonderful smelling spray mist that should be worn by someone that appreciates it's great fragrance, long lasting and makes you feel relaxed. I love it and my husband loves it to He wear's it really well and always get's compliments on how good he smell's.

I don’t really care what anyone says about this scent. It’s so fresh, so light and comforting. I wear this to bed when I’m in the mood. Something about this is really uplifting, I find it soft and it dries down to such a clean skin scent. Love, it has earned the popularity imo

primarily floral and very fruity obv, it *is* strong but that's what I like about it. polarizing, but i wear it for that purpose. a bit earthy after a while, like someone just splintered a branch of it off and shoved it in my face.

I just got this recently as a gift and I was really surprised. It does smell like strong version of The Ritual of Sakura from Rituals. Which is a scent I really enjoy. It's surprisingly strong and quite long lasting.

Powdery, clean, floral, and perfect. My favorite body spray of all time. This scent is timeless and I’m completely in love with it. Great for layering, great for every season and everyday. So inexpensive as well!

this used to have me in a chokehold and if i wasnt a berry kiss disco ball i was wafting the scent of japanese cherry blossom like an active volcano blowing smoke. the scent is nostalgic and potent love this
