Marte Concentree

Marte (EDT) is a true juggernaut of Italian distinction, dry, bitter, herbal, spicy, just sensational. The geranium and carnation notes are the real stand outs here, however. Of course I am smitten, are among two of my favorites in any classic aromatic as they pull a fragrance in two complementary directions but somehow create a synergy that almost feels effervescent on the skin. This is only further elevated by an overarching rosewood imparting an old world elegance. Likewise, the geranium crossfades into vetiver, which isalso one of my favorite 'chord' progressions. Also, further into the dry down, there seems to be fresh tobacco leaves in the sun and a visit to a cedar sauna, getting smokier and drier down to the base. What a terrific development, and we are discussing a more recent formulation (as evident from the long list of ingredients listing potential allergens; hi oakmoss and treemoss!). Also, can we talk about this bottle? Pure art.

I finally got my hands on this unique gem! If you're into old school, classically masculine, aromatic scents (like me) then this is one fragrance you can't miss. Think Antaeus, Aramis, Xeryus, Quorum, Paco Rabanne, Lauder Men and other similar structured scents and you'll get a general idea of Marte's scent profile. Longevity and sillage are at par with the pre-formulation classics, and this is the regular EDT I'm reviewing...Can only imagine how the concentree flanker would perform. That's next on my list. Whoever chose the name Marte (Mars) knew what he was doing. Get it/Sample it and thank me later!

Update. A Swiss online shop has 75ml tester bottles. Mine came with caps. I couldn't resist the USD 20 price. The juice is a marvelous Time Machine. Someone over 50 or really 60 will recognize the authenticity. Yet I would like to smell this on a 20 year old today so I'm determined to find one willing to wear this and give him a bottle. Maybe some kid who likes the original Sauvage EDT could find a way in.

Why there isn't a proper review of this fragrance yet?This edt is an absolute classic!It has a very aromatic vibe all around in it and is so much powerful!I can say that has some makeup smell somewhere in it(20 years before Dior homme)and it is masculine as the most classic colognes like Eau Sauvage or Monsieur de Givenchy!Get the Concentree version if you can!Highly suggested!

Tangy aromatic barbershop cologne. I have the concentre. Very masculine, bracing, and sexy. When I was a boy 50 years ago this is what a captivating man would smell like. 83% and it displays oomph and good materials. One could suspect that it is not IFRA compliant.

Review of Battistoni Roma Marte EDT (regular version, not the concentree version). Unfortunately there is not a dedicated page on Fragrantica for the regular version, so I write here. Opens green and bitter with citrus notes upfront. It immediatly gives a classic vibe. Opening is like a blend of Grey Flannel and Armani Pour Homme.Then it gets more and more soapy and ends quite musky and close to the skin. Performance is below average. Armani PH, Dior Eau Sauvage EDT and Capucci PH are much stronger.

A true gem. Can see a smoker's 1990 black Mercedes SL500 and this is the smell inside that. In the same kind of vibe of Arrogance Pour Homme, the original one, but with less lemon and more bitter herbs, very very dry and bitter. Old school, manly elegance at its best. The bottle is a work of art.

I have the straight up Marte version (not concentree but it doesn't have it's own page, I've heard it smells basically the same). It's very much in the same vein as Versace L'Homme but a a bit more herbal and zero sweetness.
