Pas Ce Soir Extrait

I don't even know where to start with this one. First of all, this is a compliment beast. I got 4 compliments today (to be fair one was a sephora employee, but we still take it). It is a dense, complex and deliciously fruity scent that is one of the most multifaceted unisex fragrances I own at the moment. The original Pas Ce Soir leaned feminine due to its floralized construction, but because this fragrance has a dense maze of patchouli at its base, the whole structure completely changes. The patchouli, plus the boatload of hedione (an intoxicating amount) combined with ambroxan and vanillin (maybe ethyl vanillin? I have no idea at this point) create what you would consider a performance monster on paper, and for the first couple hours it is. But after those couple hours, it kind of works like an Amouage scent due to the base heavy molecular weight. Basically it is inbetween an intimate and moderate sillage but lasts the whole day. There is also a good amount of coumarin and benzoin to support the vanillin and really make it shine on dry down. There is so much Aldehyde C-14 (that lactonic, peachy scent) that the sillage leans playful. But the Cashmeran comes in and creates a fuzzy vibe, which is really needed to cut a lot of the sweetness back. Cashmeran and the Hedione are what give it that fresh, modern feel. All of these factors make it lean unisex. The darkness and richness of the fragrance might be too much for some people. And if you don't like fruity scents, I heavily advise you to stay away... as far as you can. But if you are in the market for another fruity scent, that has a borderline narcotic quality to it, then this is 10/10 on your books. I love this fragrance, it has become my signature scent in such a short period of time. Its not only versatile in any season, but it smells high quality and would be very difficult to replicate due to the concentration of aroma chemicals.

I must be in the minority of people who find Pas Ce Soir Extrait simply a more intense, longer-lasting version of the original. I have no complaints about this fragrance and I honestly believe that if you like the original, there's a high chance you will like the Extrait as well. I bought a full bottle after going through a couple of decants. The original Pas Ce Soir is one of my favourite fragrances, it's unique yet easy to wear, but I can't get more than 3-4 hours wear with a moderate projection. One me, Pas Ce Soir Extrait keeps the same sparkling, fruity opening of the original all the way into the dry down. The scent is quite linear and very, very sweet, so if you're not into sweet, fruity scents, this might feel like too much for you. While the original feels light and airy, the Extrait is very sweet and dense. The longevity and projection are both outstanding compared to the original. I get 8+ hours of wear with a strong projection. This is the kind of fragrance that will get you noticed, and it will stay with you the whole day. It also feels very mass appealing, although I wouldn't put it in the same category as designer fragrances such as La Vie Est Belle or JPG La Belle, simply because on my skin, it doesn't turn into something that would remind me of a designer fragrance. It's still unique and very, very similar to the original Pas Ce Soir. If you like the original, give this one a try, it might surprise you. I didn't have high expectations when I first tried it, but it turns out on me, Pas Ce Soir Extrait is everything I wanted the original to be, with much better performance.

Pas Ce Soir parfum is in my top 3 (if not #1) for life. It’s a masterpiece. My skin sucks up fragrance, so unfortunately it doesn’t last as long on my skin. The minute I saw an extrait was happening, it was a no brainer. Ordered from BDK immediately. First off, the bottle is stunning. Deep, emerald with the classic shape and cap. But...the scent. Another 10/10 masterpiece. Smells very much like the original, but deeper. And there’s a dusting of dry cacao in the dry down. The patchouli in this is so refined. This feels so classy without feeling stuck up or old at all. I can’t believe how good it is. And it actually lasts on my skin! Obviously I’ve only had it a few days since it’s been released, but I’m so happy I have it in my collection. It’s right up there with the original Pas Ce Soir as an absolute must have for me.

A woody floral/fruity fragrance with a DNA that is intoxicating. I Iove the OG, which leans more youthful, full on fruity/sweet ( such as Erba Pura by Xerjoff) whereas the Extrait is more woody with an amplified patchouli, I don't really get the cacao. The fruity sweetness contrasted by the patchouli reminds me of the sweetness found Sekushi by Leng Ling. Also bears a ressemblance to Gyan by Bvlgari, bdk being more on the fruity side. The dry-down somehow reminds me of a less animalic Layton exclusif, even though the DNAs are completely different. Probably it's the complexity/luxuriousness of the scent that reminds me of the latter. I feel the extract is unisex, leaning a tad feminine, but the OG is full-on feminine. This smells so good that I, a bearded bald man in his late 20s, am going to wear this.

BDK Pas ce Soir Extrait is the original Pas ce Soir on steroids. If you love the original then you will absolutely adore the Extrait in my opinion. It’s the quince (combined with ginger) that makes this fragrance so appealing and addictive to my nose. Until trying the OG I had no idea how beautiful quince could be. Anyway, the extrait retains the fruity, sweet, soft and spicy, ambery, white floral aspects of the original but the patchouli and the resins from the base add some depth, contrast and longevity to the juice. A must have for anyone who loves the original and a scent with a well done quince note! Better overall than the original as far as the performance goes. Not the biggest fan of the bottle colouring for this edition, too dark for my liking, even darker than appears in pictures.
