Dear BDK, Please, please, PLEASE, for the love of everything good and beautiful in this corrupt world, MAKE A PARFUM VERSION OF THIS THAT GETS TO THE DRYDOWN FASTER!!! I promise you, you will have a fragrance that men will flock to the world over. Think Aventus levels of popularity and reverence. Sometimes the best inventions and innovations are purely accidental: penicillin, Pyrex, Lycra, etc.. BDK, you have unwittingly stumbled upon something that is UNIVERSAL in male perfumery while being equally near NONEXISTENT in male perfumery: a scent profile that is BOTH indolic and earthy! The mid to late drydown of Tabac Rose is masculinely sweet. This is somewhat hard to explain which why it is nearly never fully realized in a fragrance..because in order to create something, someone must first put words to what they are attempting to create, esp if the creation takes more than one person to produce as perfume often does. Let me try to explain this so most can understand what I'm talking about (Here, I'm talking to you BDK!!!). When most people, esp women, think of a man in a full sweat, they imagine odor, specifically, body odor as contemporaneous with that full sweat but this is not true in most non indoor settings. A clean man, fresh from a morning shower and a healthy breakfast out in the woods or a meadow, chopping wood, mending a broken fence post or even clearing brush will NOT have b.o necessarily. He will most likely take on the natural aromas of the flora he is working in and amongst. BDK Tabac Rose's late drydown is the scent of a clean man clearing wild brush just beyond wild tobacco fields where on the rise just overlooking the clearing there are blossoms of wild roses blooming in the late spring. I GUARANTEE you BDK, 95% of men WANT TO SMELL LIKE THIS AND 99.99999% OF WOMEN WANT MEN WHOM SMELL LIKE THIS. The late drydown of this fragrance gives exactly this scent BUT one has to wait nearly 4 hours for it and slog through some kind of macabre sugar confectionary inside those 4 hours to get there. A gentle swirl of jam and cinnamon folded into chocolate whipped cream, that's piped into a chocolate eclair made by a smoking baker who's burning oud chips in the background. This gorgeous spicy. voluminous, whipped rose & tobacco scent has a Middle Eastern leaning rose that has a jammy facet catalyzed by a touch of lemon and engorged by plum. As it transitions to the heart I get a chocolate-patchouli added to the mix, accented by cinnamon and soft tobacco. Tobacco here is mostly a soft tobacco smoke filtered through baked goods, that reminds me of a time when I was a kid and my parents would bring home Robin's Donuts from a shop that allowed smoking. This could be a chocolate eclair from that shop, with jam and a sprinkling of cinnamon, plus oud & saffron. In the long dry down, this gets sweeter, softer and more mellow from Spanish Labdanum which ties everything together in the base. The balsamic sweetness here is tilted to chocolate-y praline by the Indonesian patchouli leaf which also brings a faint & passing soapy note on the skin. I also get faint oud and saffron in the mix as mentioned (not listed). Although it gets quite sweet, it's not a cloying sweetness, and reads unisex to my nose. When I first spray this, I do get a similarity to Shaghaf Oud Swiss Arabian and Oud Bouquet Lancôme, although Tabac Rose is more fruity, rose-jammy and spicy with cinnamon & tobacco. Performance is excellent for year round wear, but this will wear best in cooler months. It's a love for me. Enjoy! Update 10/27/24: Sprayed this on today as the weather is cooler. Still amazing. Hasn't changed from what I remember. Fantastic quality. Still a love. Update 03/05/25: Sprayed this on today as I've been in the mood for a rose-oud. I'm still surprised oud & saffron aren't listed here, or akigala-wood even (I'm not saying it's a real oud). Love the scent, but I would love this more if there was more honesty in the notes.

I admit that upon reading the name I rolled my eyes into the back of my skull and thought to myself "Here we go... another rose and tobacco scent to add to the thousands already out there'. I expected mediocrity, an underwhelming rose patch with some tobacco notes thrown in, or some sickly powdery rose. In the end, what I got was a massive dose of humble pie. A pie that was a sweet desert one in the form of this gourmand rose minx. On first spray I immediately get a sharp hit of freshly ground pink pepper and an almost fizzy rose reminiscent of rose lemonade. The top notes are bright and uplifting in a way that made me smile and pay attention. I noticed now there is lemon listed as a note too, which makes sense for the rose lemonade sensation I experienced. After the fizzing and dazzling opening I get the jamminess of over ripe plums leaking syrup into the wanton, open mouth of a bold rose. A rose who's petals are sugared and dusted ever so slightly in cinnamon. It is sweet, but not sickenly so. This makes my mouth water and my heart pound. It's pretty and sexy and I find it rather androgynous. In one way it is girly and feminine, on the other it is a bit dirty and earthy too. This could easily be worn by a man, especially on the dry down. Before it all gets too cloying sweet the bitter and dry cacao appears. The chocolate note is almost waxy and it works very well in tandem with some dirty patchouli, which balances out the more super sticky and sweet side of things. There's a lovely hint of tobacco and a rich, dark and resinous labdanum here too, all of which adds further depth and complexity in a way that is not as familiar as you'd think for a perfume with these notes. This base here itself is like the substrate from which the intoxicating gourmand rose blooms forth. I will be getting a full bottle of this for sure. A very well done scent and I believe a unique rose.

Oooo, I need this in my life! Dark and mysterious roses with tobacco and chocolate. Oh my gosh, I would bath in this scent! Just, I don't have to. Two sprays on me last till the next day. Definitely full bottle worthy for me. Mind you, I usually gravitate towards clean and fresh musky florals, I hate vanilla so for sweeter scents I choose more fruity fragrances (BDK Wood Jasmin is one fantastic plum jam for an autumn scent) but THIS! This is heavy fragrance done to the perfection. Rose is sweet enough, no sugar was necessary. Tobacco and chocolate brings a spicy, dark and mysterious base for the heavy roses and it's balanced with plum very well. Simple, elegant and dark! But that's not even the best part! I always had migraines from heavier perfumes. I can smell Thierry Mugler Angel from another room and I'll spend the rest of the day with killer headache. But this is doing no harm, not cloying, just sits warm on me, blooming in a lovely cloud. I've tested it over and over again, during red days, during grey days, on a date, to work, just to enjoy Sunday afternoon... And it never failed to make me happy and more at ease. Is it blind buy safe? Probably not. Is it office friendly? If you don't overspray it, it might be. But I would wear it to a woody cabin in the middle of wild forest, snowed in with only fireplace and a hot chocolate to fight the rough winter with. Or to an opera in Vienna, if I want to make an impression. Or when it's raining and day is all grey and gloomy, to lift my spirits. Or to a winter ball, with a simple black velvet gown and long gloves and very loud jewelry. Definitely an extravagant and expensive smelling perfume! Now please excuse me, I'm going to order full bottle and a travel spray so I can keep it with me always.

I was introduced to this beauty a few years back thanks to the sample sent by my friend. I wasn't sure how I felt about it when first trying it. The tobacco note is very strong in the opening, definitely not the fresh leaf type, but more like cigarette smoke. It's not ashy, but harsh and smoky. Rose is in the background, Chocolate is less detectable unless I sniff closer. I felt something missing in the blend. I get why it can immediately turn people off. Slowly, the tobacco transitions to the supporting note and becomes less sharp. Rose turns to the star of the show. In the end, the scent gets sweeter, rose forward, brighter, cleaner and more welcomed. I wouldn't say this fragrance is juicy, but plum gives a fruity twist, spiced up by cinnamon, brining an exotic experience, which makes this fragrance so unique and seductive. Tabac Rose is neither a gourmand rose, nor another oud rose. It doesn’t resemble any rose fragrance I've tried. The more I wear, the more it captivates me. It's a mature scent, leaning towards the darker side, but has translucent quality to it. This is definitely one of the best BDK offerings I've experienced, along with Gris Charnel. I personally enjoy Julien Rasquinet's creations, and a lot of them are solid keepers!

Tabac Rose...hmm. First thoughts.....Deliciously unexpected. The first note on me...was sweet and tart, before I saw the notes, to me it smelled like passionfruit (I am guessing it is the plum and lemon combination). A few minutes in, the tartness begins to fade and I begin to smell rose and chocolate and the beginnings of the tobacco note. The dry down is very smooth...sweet tobacco, rose, chocolate, labdanum...faint cinnamon and patchouli, in this order. A nice twist on the Rose/Tobacco combination. This is very sexy, unisex, but on me feminine leaning. The feel is classy jazz club, uptown, sweet cigarette smoke in the air, martinis and old fashioneds, black leather pants, silk blouse and Ruby Woo red lip. This woman is not conceited but confident, sexy and polished. She attracts attention without seeking attention. Her perfume leaves a soft intoxicating trail. It can be similar to Lancome Oud in the dry down, but...Tabac Rose is younger, modern and flirty. Will shine in the fall and winter...probably more nighttime..but I will wear it during the day as well... Take Five and enjoy!

Ok, I just fell in love. This is the best unisex rose scent on the market imo. It's incredible. It's sweet, but not too sweet. It's spicy, but not too spicy. It is just perfection. This is a fruity, warm spicy, powerful rose. If you don't like rose, you'll hate it, because this VERY rose forward. The rose goes perfectly with the chocolate accord and the tobacco. This has astounding performance, it's very unique and unisex. I must say I'm VERY surprised to see a lot of people think this smells like Oud Bouquet. To me they're veeeeeeery different fragrances, yeah sure they're sweet roses, but they're extremely different. Oud Bouquet isn't as rose centric as this is. This is a masterpiece. For the price this is crazy good. Getting a bottle very soon. I'm shocked this isn't more talked about, it has insane quality for the price. EDIT : didn't take long, I splurged for a full bottle. EDIT 2 : I bought Oud Bouquet after my review of Tabac Rose, and I can confirm these fragrances are NOT ALIKE. Do not blind buy it expecting an Oud Bouquet, they're really different.

Oh. My. Goodness. This is so BEAUTIFUL!! I cannot recommend this beautiful bottle of sultry-ness enough!!! This is so well blended, a truly wonderful masterpiece. An oriental perfume that will transport you straight to Scheherazade’s Mille et Une Nuits Palaces full of mysterious desert delights. Longevity: 12 hours+ Projection: beastly (on me) Sillage: same Price: it’s pricy, I did get it at a discount and I am thrilled to have added it to my collection!! This, to me, is an almost gourmand but not quite kind of perfume. It contains notes that are VERY strong together but somehow, they all blend beautifully and work to create a magical and oriental experience like no other! I would also add that this works much better in colder weather, winter nights, sexy date and the likes. Though I could wear this beauty to bed, personally, and dream of Arabian Nights and princesses and such 😆😆🤩🤩✨✨ Get a sample first as this is something of an acquired taste, at least, in my opinion...

This was a very successful blind buy. And the last thing I needed was another rose fragrance. Let me explain to you what I get. This is like a Temptations love song. You got 5 different voices singing in 5 different octaves. And everyone is singing their part beautifully. The opening is everybody harmonizing, Then the Rose comes out an sings this beautiful Falsetto (Eddie), the plum comes in and adds gorgeous fruitiness and liveliness(paul) as it dries down its starts to get serious and down to business with that chocolate blended perfectly with that earthy patchouli (Dennis and Melvin) and then the fragrance fragrance starts to settle, and at this point I’m satisfied I’ve seen a good show, but as soon as you think the song is over, here comes this smooth ass tobacco strutting in like it owns the place (David). And while David is singing the rest is back there still humming in perfect harmony. My only dislike is not knowing when to expect David. Masterpiece

Ok, wow, this is an awesome fragrance!! You get all the main players in this, not just one or two notes predominantly over the others, but all of them all up front and center. You get the rose, you get the chocolate, you get the cinnamon, you get the tobacco, all equally coalescing into this truly magical scent. I didn't have particularly high expectations going into this as I've tried numerous other iterations of this dna yada yada 'sure smells good' then I forget about it, but this one, Tabac Rose, without a doubt this is in the upper echelon of this dna. I see Oud Bouquet by Lancome as the leading comparison fragrance, but I don't wholeheartedly agree with that. Sure, Oud Bouquet is nice, but I lump that fragrance in with the numerous "Oud/Rose" combo's as in if you've smelled one, you've about smelled them all, but Tabac Rose most definitely separates itself from that overcrowded Oud/Rose pack. Truly blown away by Tabac Rose! 10/10 no question.

Gorgeous. I've been on a rose bender and have been racking up some amazing rose beauties. I need a full bottle of this STAT. Now, I hate oud. I'm not a big fan of labdanum usually either because it's leatheryness so I went out on a whim with this one. All the comparisons to oud fragrances and the reviews had me wondering if I was going to regret buying the travel spray. Hell no. I don't get oud at all, thank God. I get dark chocolate and an OD of cinnamon in a good way. And the tobacco. The Rose is maroon. It smells maroon if that makes sense. This thing is lovely. I recently purchased Dreamhouse Ikiryo Rose of Venus (dark, Incense rose) and this is similar to that and vice versa. Yeah, I need a FB of this one. So far, BDK has been full of wins for me. Pas Ce Soir, Rouge Smoking and now this.

I’m a rose lover and this is no exception. But it’s such a unique take on the spicy rose combo. It’s more gourmand with the added chocolate. Smooth and rich, and opens with that plum and lemon which is so refreshing for this type of profile. The plum makes it juicy and the lemon adds a brightness and zing in the beginning, and when the dry down happens that’s where the magic is. People will compare it to Shagaf oud. Nah that’s gasoline...OUd Boquet? Nah not as sparkling and juicy, POAL? Nope not so dry or spicy. BDK continues to wow me. I have 5 of them which is unique to my collection. Typically I like at most 3 from a line that I really wanna wear daily. This is a lifer for me Another stunner from BDK

Tabac Rose opens with a burst of citrusy rose reminiscent of Atomic Rose by Initio and MFK's Oud Satin Mood, but as the citrus note leaves, the scent mellows down to a sweeter Oud Bouquet by Lancôme. I was so excited to get a bottle after loving my vial. It's a chocolatey, jammy rose scent and I am here for it. Sometimes I get the plummy chocolate scent when I take a whiff of my arm, but sometimes I get a more woody note, almost like oud-like scent. It smells sweeter on skin than on my clothes. Expected Tabac Rose to project more, but the longevity is there. Very decadent and I hope the juice in my bottle macerates and the chocolatey rose scent deepens into something darker and denser.

TABAC ROSE - Joy in a bottle, a captivating, indulgent, and sexy little masterpiece. It opens with a syrupy and sticky rose but quickly evolves into a fragrance with a unique complexity; tobacco, lemon, and labdanum are extremely delicate yet crucial in providing a mature and refined context to the rose and chocolate. Chocolate takes the lead role, a milk chocolate melted by the warmth of fingers, buttery and enveloping, which, when blended with the rose, evokes the scent of a lip gloss, the smell of exuberant youth that innocently desires nothing but to be a grown-up. BDK has managed to convey a sophisticated sweetness, sensually sticky and impeccably unique with this fragrance.

Opening is a beautiful blend of rose and tobacco in Tobac Rose, I especially like that the rose isn’t overly floral or candied, more of a dry, fruity sort of rose. The chocolate is not really sweet at all, honestly I couldn’t even really detect it, so it most likely is used to blend the other notes together. Originally thought this was feminine, but once this dries down after a couple hours, I’ve found that the rose actually fades away and this become a very smoky, woody tobacco scent, not feminine at all. I’ll have to test this some more to see how frequently this occurs, as this is an almost complete transformation from the opening.

As much as I didn't understand the plum combination in BDK's Wood Jasmine, the marriage with tobacco, patchouli, rose, chocolate and cinnamon makes sense in Tabac Rose. It is Mugler's Angel type of a scent. I will go so far as to say that Tabac Rose is my favourite of all BDK's scents I've tested (although I haven't smelled Gris Charnel, any of the blue bottles, French Bouquet or their oud and tonka), followed by Nuit de Sable and Bouquet de Hongrie. Overall, I am quite impressed by this brand and would recommend anybody looking for non designer perfumes of good price/ performance/ originality ratio to get the BDK discovery set.

I like this, don't normally like rose too much. For me the tobacco-rose combo is almost green, quite fresh and clean. I do end up layering this one only because it can get a bit much, even headache-y if you spray too much, and a bit more mature and masc than what would suit me most of the time. That being said, the juice is nice and strong! The initial spritz is always very lovely and the citrusy top notes really compliment all the rest of it. It is definitely something more unique, and grows on you! Probably one of my favourites now. A bit gourmandish too, sweet, but not a lot.

Funny story. I sprayed four solid sprays around my neck before heading to a semi casual dinner at a friend's house to meet the parents. I had a beautiful pashmima scarf on around my neck. My friend tells me her father who is this hadcore militant guy was hovering around me like a bee not sure where to land and a bit out of sorts. I make them tell this story for laughs... Ive never worn a perfume that had such intoxicating effects on a grown man who should be everythinf but destabilized. I personally would only wear this for evening occasions. Its attention grabbing.

It is a Gorgeous Fragrance, Elegant, Classy, Luxurious, Modern, Airy and Unique. I tried it in store and I received a sample of that yesterday. It smells so good and very pleasant, It reminds me of Turkish Delight ! It opens up with semi sweet fruity, citrusy, Spices and rose notes in the background then dry down is sweet warm spicy , ambery chocolate and tobacco vibe undertone. I really enjoy it and I love it. The Turkish Rose note is dominant in this perfume from the opening up to the dry down. Longevity is very good. Two Thumbs Up. Bravo BDK ! Rating : 8.5 / 10

Opens like a sparkling rose lemonade to my nose with a more unisex leaning, slightly earthy sweet dry down! Really beautiful and not at all what I expected. Tart berries with purple and dark pink rose petals. Velvety smooth with a hint of a soft and smooth tobacco note to stop it from becoming overly fruity. A really gorgeous rose scent, its a shame my husband hates this as he thinks it smells like "an old fashioned air freshener from the 90's". Not many of the BDK line has made much of an impression on me but Tabac Rose and Gris Charnel are incredibly beautiful.
