Bay Rum

Classic bay rum scent. Problem is, overpriced when you can get that similar scent profile from other fragrance houses. Very solid though and I would consider a buy. Melds well with Beach Geeza's other fragrances, but I think Ocean Water or Coco Moon is a better buy.

I saw the notes and nearly bought a bottle. I bought Juniper Java instead as a blind buy instead and a sample kit. Glad I did. JJ had an interesting smell though not as advertised - it was a briny ocean scent. This however did not live up to its promise as a ‘classic Bay Rum variant’. This was largely a Dusty cinnamon oil bomb with everything around it (ala Sauvage Elixir). So it’s not listed in the notes???? Well, either the notes are creative marketing or somehow the cardamom, sugar and nutmeg are replicating it successfully??? Other than a brief opening the bay leaf seems to disappear into mish mash around this central ball of ‘cinnamon oil’ and a slight boozy feel. Some people may like it for what it is but for me this doesn’t conjure up the promises I was expecting of version of a classic bay rum. Happy Smelling

This might be the most situation-specific perfume ever because if you're a person who cooks a whole lot of jerk chicken on a regular basis, this is the perfect thing for you. The allspice and rum in this link up perfectly with that particular, very specific activity. They probably should have aimed this at a larger demographic. About a year after I tried this, I came across Speakeasy by Frapin, and realized that fragrance was what I was hoping this would smell like. Maybe try that one if you had high hopes for this, and it didn't do it for you.

This smells all right if you want to smell like a cookie. I can see this being a good wear for the Pumpkin Spice season. Someone might want to dunk you in their latte. I think the price is way too much for the longevity and complexity. There are a lot of other spicy fragrances in that $$ range that inspire me. I would probably grab a 50 ml bottle, but not for $200....that's crazy. $45? Yeah, I'd probably spend around that for this scent in a 50 ml. Sorry Beach Geeza

I really had high hopes for this fragrance, and this line, but so far I am disappointed. The opening of Bay Rum come off too harsh, probably due to the cassia. Although it does improve on the dry down and I get much more of the allspice , the opening ruins it for me and it just doesn't recover.
