Benetton Blu Man

This is a strange creature to my nose...At first application, I felt like it was yet another JPG clone! Oh no!! However, it didn't persist long on skin, but the JPG vibe does linger a bit longer on my shirt and on paper. More on that later...It starts of as a blast of sweet, powdery lemon that lasts about 10 minutes or so and then transitions into a heady, earthy herbal scent (mostly earthy) on my skin. The basil and sage are the prominent notes to my nose and maybe rosemary is there to back up his buds without really showing it's face. The herbal goodness lingers for a good 2 hours or more and then makes its way into a delightful cedar fragrance that has accents of sweetness and powder from the cacao and (the seemingly) eternal lavender note(the base lasts four hours or more). I don't get the patchouli at all which is a shame because that would've upped the 'sexy' factor! One strange thing I must add is that on my t-shirt the scent shifted from the top notes to a candied hazelnut scent...good but weird! Overall, this is a good, cheap fragrance! It lasts about 6 plus hours and is a pretty interesting ride throughout and the base is by far the best part! I give it a good 7 out of 10!

I'm on my 3rd bottle but, I always kept on wondering why the bottle imprint (Benetton logo) easily rubs off. Great scent to abuse. I tried to buy other versions like Nero or Verde but, I ended up with Blu. Can't complain, doesn't fail to impress me all the time!

Update! I got myself a benetton blu! I really love the smell The way it projects on my skin. Refreshing scent for a hot summer day. The scent wears off easily though, but I still liked it!

I just recently tested this and they are absolutely correct in their reviews, that it carries a JPG Le Male Vibe! I hope to get a bottle soon for my own! Love the fragrance!

The "blue" in Blu is a cold, clear sky over field of dry grass. In the beginning the lavender is a bit sharp, but it dries down soft and somewhat powdery. I actually find the cacao to be the strongest note, and it is on the pleasantly bitter side. I get the lemon, but not in a loud/sharp way and the herbs, while I cannot pick them out individually, are also present. But still, I would mostly call this a cacao scent and I am surprised more people have not tried it considering how trendy that note is at the moment. I see no similarity whatsoever with Code.

I think this fragrance had great potential. The smell of it is great quality, but it is too subtle and longevity doesnt seem to fit the scent to me. It is very fresh, but also dark/powdery and slightly sweet with the cacao. Definitely not a sweet as in gourmand fragrance but just enough sweetness. Like cedarwood sweet. Cedar is definitely a noticeable note with the lavender and cacao. I would recommend to someone who loves subtle colognes, or just to someone on a limited budget.

Es una fragancia sencilla aunque agradable. Muy en el estilo de los perfumes baratos de Benetton, gana personalidad cuando, con los minutos, se remarcan las notas de cocoa y patchouli. Yo lo recomiendo para las mañanas de sábado o domingo, o cualquier salida sin muchas pretensiones.

i have it and use it very much. its scent as same as armani code and boss orange with average last longing and sillage . i had armani code too and i love thats scent.it's just look like that with half price.lavender and cacao.for warm weather can be harsh.6/10

I feel powder and nutmeg, smells like Diesel fuel for life or Chevignon Forever Mine, but much cheaper than Diesel...very clean scent, I like it!

Fresh, generic. Better to get nautical for this price range. The big problem is longevity.. as we all know.

I think it smells almost like Armani Code and incredibly longevity for this price it ́s quite decent.

I did a blind swap for this, because I wasn't going to wear what I swapped off. This one is a bit too blended for me, though it certainly doesn't smell "synthetic" or anything like that. The lemon, lavender, etc. combination is not one I really enjoy, unless, perhaps, there is good note separation. I liked the opening, but soon there is that blended quality with the lemon, lavender, herbs, a bit of amber, etc. that I don't like. So I was hoping this would largely dissipate and then I would get a little bit of a Borneo 1834 kind of thing (cocoa and patchouli), After around 2.5-3 hours, it does dissipate quite a bit but not entirely. The patchouli then emerges, with a touch of dry cocoa, but I don't get wood at this point, unless it has been there all along and it's really light. A few hours after application, this fragrance seems to have really come together. No, it's no Boreo 1834, but it's more wearable, closer to Armani's Attitude for men, though it's lighter and smoother than that one. I'm not a big fan of this kind of fragrance (the drydown) because it is like a hardened cream and doesn't have much note separation. However, I could see myself wearing this once every couple of months as a change of pace. Overall, it's technically sound and well done, though not unique. However, if price is taken into account and you want this kind of fragrance it's a great deal.

Benetton BLU, marketed to men, features a strong cedar note and also a fair amount of basil. Although the composition is rather masculine, it is not impossible for women to wear, provided that they like woody aromatics. I find BLU rather refreshing on a hot day, and although it is not subtle, it is clean and clear, rather than muddled and toxic as so many men's colognes in this price range seem to me to be. BLU seems entirely respectable, and I'll use the bottle I acquired purely out of curiosity now and then. It is definitely wearable, and even rather endearing in a somewhat simpleminded way. Something like a friendly dog, I'd say. But at least it’s a clean one! Overall, I find these Benetton fragrances somewhat flat, like an image whose various layers have all been collapsed, leaving a straightforward representation of a simple object not really open to a huge amount of interpretation. There is no cat in this picture...

Fresh? Clean? I get lavender.... lots of lavender. Ive read that this is a clone of JPG's Le Male, which admittedly, ive never smelled. I will say, however that this fragrance reminds me very much of amouage's reflection man albeit a much cheaper version. Silage and projection, as is the case with most benetton frags, is pretty bad. The dry down is much different from reflection's; still pleasant, but not my cup of tea. I cant call this scent fresh (more of a floral aromatic), nor do i get half the notes it claims to have. Again, I cant call this fresh or even blue for that matter. I also cant recommend it to the younger crowd as i dont believe it would really be appreciated. I wont say its a bad fragrance, just mislabeled; it should be benetton purple. Also, i wouldnt wear this during the day

I tried this today, rather randomly, as I sauntered though the day. My first impression was of a masculine scent. I couldnt tell any notes apart though and forgot about it. But I caught whiffs of it as it dried down to something sweet and soft. Very lavender-y, cocoa-y, herby, which was all I could tell. Very bad on the sillage though. Lasted a couple of hours. I wouldnt say this is a masculine scent at all. Not one of those unmistakably masculine ones in any case. I would definitely wear (though doubt I would ever buy it). Not a bad one, all things considered.

If you are looking for a great bargain and yet a very nice scent this is for you. I would def. give it to my husband, my dad, cousin or friends. Very casual and very nice!
