Bentley For Men Silverlake

I can't compare this with anything from the AdG line, as I tend to prefer fragrances with watery notes to all-out aquatics (especially mega-popular all-out aquatics) and have therefore steered clear of AdG. Violet leaf is one of my favourite notes for both its watery and airy aspects, so I bought this blind. I love it. On me, it opens with a slightly metallic, mostly lemony-zesty bubble bath effect--kind of light blue--and as regards the general mood or atmosphere that it evokes or suits, it's a fresh, summery fragrance and therefore, for me, reminiscent of Versace L'Homme and Chanel Allure Homme Sport. It doesn't smell quite like either but it occupies a similar space. It's probably lighter than either, though--somewhere between those and the very light, minty-musky L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Eau Fraîche. There's nothing challenging about it--if there were, it might be just how lemony-fresh and musky it is--but I'm pretty sure there isn't meant to be. Anyway, though not unduly complicated, it's better-balanced and has more going on than many sportier citrus freshies. The violet leaf, definitely, and the musk, probably, lend it a kind of gentle misty quality, which works well with the cool mint. I can understand reviews to the effect that this is reminiscent of a fresh day on a Northern European lake or something similar. The name is indeed appropriate. Silverlake must be comparable to a host of fragrances that evoke the Mediterranean summer, but it is leaner and probably slightly greener than many, perhaps most. The performance is not exceptional but it's perfectly adequate. I don't know that a louder version of this would be as enjoyable or credible. This is pleasantly refreshing but knows not to try too hard. It's almost literally cooler than that.

One of my staples to wear in the office. I dunno how close it is to ADG Essenza as I never smell it, but I like this Bentley Silverlake way more than ADG Parfum 2024 I have, because it feels fresher and brighter. And I love the white musk dry down. White musk is one of cleanest notes in fragrance in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I also love ADG Parfum, but it has kinda slight dark aura (maybe the incense dry down) that makes it giving less "cheering effect" in the morning before going to work for long hours. Maybe the ADP EDP version is brighter, never tested it tho. As for Bentley, in the opening, the lemon and mint notes are sync without any harshness. In mid down, in my nose the lavender tend to be supporting role that pink pepper slightly dominant. Then the dry down, my most favourite part, white musk and woody notes give relaxing vibe, like approachable vibe, not like trying too hard telling people around "I smell good, right? Right???". So if compliment is what you are looking for, this is not the one. Like I said, this Bentley Silverlake give approachable aura imo. And as it is not attention grabbing fragrance, the projection is not that strong. I normally wear 3-4 sprays (1 in torso, 1 behind neck/ear, 1 lower neck, and 1 under collar of my shirts/Poloshirts) in the morning before I go to work at 7 am. Only first half an hour project like 1 m before it gives small bubble only for our personal space until around 3 hours before becoming akin scent that in my experience around 7 hours. Sometimes then I respray it 1 spray around 1 pm if I wanna smell it again. Considering price (I got it for around 22 Euro), scent profile, versatility and suitability for office wear, it is quite perfect in my opinion

I got this for my birthday recently, and I had it in the house three months prior, having finally seen it for sale in the UK after watching for it for about ten months. Was it worth the wait? Oh yes. I now have all six of the BFM range, having also got BFM Intense for my birthday. I never set out to collect the set; it happened simply by reading about them, waiting and watching for a good deal, and after about 14 months I have them all. Can I pick a favourite? No. I enjoy them all very much. They all smell delicious to me, and all smell like they would have cost 2-3 times more than what I paid for them, and they all have that well dressed vibe going for them, whether suited or smart casual. Siverlake is a shade lighter in intensity than the other five, but not weak on me, and it lasts into a soft woody resinous gently aquatic dry-down which is still obvious after eleven hours. My wife says she can still smell it in the room I am in as she enters, and adds that it is lovely in the air. Based on my collection, I would say it makes me think of what I would have if I crossed Lanvin's Oxygen by Alberto Morillas with BFM Azure, and added some more wood, just a little. I don't think it is particularly like Perry Ellis Red, though in that ball-park, PE Red being less aquatic. I have no experience of the ADG range. I'm seeing more of it from the dealers now, but the price has increased, averaging about £48 atm, so if you fancy it, hit the Buy-button. I would be surprised, a lot, if anyone was disappointed. Lalique has did it again with another delightful fragrance.

Score: 9.0/10 Bentley for Men Silverlake is a pleasant surprise: a "fresh aromatic" with a tasteful signature, far from oceanic clichés. Sophisticated, minimalist and modern, it is the ideal choice for the man looking for a clean perfume, but with identity. Its solid performance and the balance between freshness and elegance make it a wild card in the wardrobe of any perfume enthusiast.

I was extremely fortunate to pick this up a little over a year ago for just under $40US and that was an absolute steal for what one gets back then. I echo the same sentiments from many here. It has the ADG vibe going, almost Essenza like (which I own and Silverlake is not an exact copy of Essenza but, very close) with very good performance for an aquatic fresh fragrance. The quality is there as it has bits from the whole ADG line up in its make up. More of a mature vibe and not as youthful smelling as Profondo or Profondo Lights but, any age group from 18 to 80 can wear this easily. Fresh & clean smelling is always good regardless of age groupings. Unfortunately, the bandits and price skyrocket pimps of the fragrance world have put this stuff near 3 digit prices and is getting harder to find. Is it worth it for that significant of a price hike? Don't know as pricing is subjective and carries a very broad definition to all. One might be better off catching the new release of ADG Eau De Parfum for that kind of money. In the end, you do you but, if you can find Silverlake at a nice discount, pull the trigger....
