Beso de Sal

Beso de Sal bursts open with lemon and mandarin before the salty, mineral aquatic heart takes over. The notes listed feel spot on to me. It’s fresh, clean, super wearable, and totally unisex to my nose, with no sharp edges or strange twists, just pure holiday vibes in a bottle. It has that breezy blue marine feel that makes you think of sun on skin, sea air, and effortless summer style. In a big collection, this definitely filled a gap for me. A bit of Alberto Morillas magic for sure. Absolutely love it. Performance is great too: 7 to 8 hours easily, with gentle projection.

Oh Aberto Moralles, what have you done to yourself. As noted as "the king of freshies", he went astray with this one....way far left field! This is not fresh, this is borderline not even pleasant. It seems he was trying to be more artsy with this one, and this doesn't follow the typical path Moralles is known for. I don't detect any citruses. To me this is straight up oceanic/mossy, mineral/salty and has a musky burnt "hot iron" effect (like when you iron your cloths and accidentally burn it). Quite honestly, when I first sprayed it....the opening smelled like body odor, sweaty salty armpit. There's something about this that gives me a "BO" vibe like when someone is just hot, sweaty, and body stench is whafting around them. They very deep drydown (4 hours past) it starts to get tolerable. You start to get a drydown vibe of somewhat like Dolce Gabbana light blue intense (por homme), but its still too mossy and stenchy. This is a "nah" for me, even though I blind bought a bottle.

The opening is sparkling and aromatic but gives way to a hodgepodge of mineral and marine notes accompanied by mint, a combination which I don't find pleasant at all. The musk and wood in the background are only present in a very subtle way. It has a moderate sillage and lasts 3-4 hours on my skin. Personally, I didn't like it, although perhaps I didn't understand it since I've only been able to wear it once. I imagine that for lovers of marine fragrances it can be original due to its mineral touch and its refreshing aspects from the mint, as long as they do not matter to reapply frequently.
