Pure Style

To me this is one of the most beautiful 'clean' fragrances, maybe even the most beautiful one. It's not destinctively soapy, and neither warm& cozy nor cool (like lovely Narciso Rodriguez Essence which makes me freeze..). Instead it has the most light fluffiness to it, like new snow, and freshly washed linen hung up to dry on a summery meadow. Pure Style is very modern smelling in the sense that it gives a clear and minimalistic vibe. It doesn't smell natural or remind me of any real flowers, it's abstract and artificial, yet it's soft and no screechy laundry detergent. Clean and fresh with a bit of powder, no sweetness. Don't expect a strong message from this one, it is pretty quiet, polite and makes you happy without seeking attention for it. Sillage and lasting power are decent, and while I don't get along with other Betty Barclay frangrances too well, nor most other scents I found on similar drugstore shelves (which is also why I overlooked it for so long), this is a gem to me and I don't ever want my collection to be without it.

It is what it says on the tin. Stylish, elegant, pleasant, exudes classic femininity. Simple yet attractive, clean yet demanding attention. "Pure style" is for women that don't need a perfume to shout "Smell me even if you don't want to". They don't need to suffocate the audience to feel important and valued. I just got it and I am loving it.

Sleek, bright and shiny white floral with a cold feel to it, but without any harshness or sharp notes. It does have a similar vibe to Noa by Cacharel but more minimalist (I have yet to find a dupe for this so might add unique as well). There's a cool woody freesia-cedar accord lingering in the background that prevents it from being all fluffy generic 'clean cotton', and there's nothing sweet in it. I'm reading comments saying it's a soapy old lady perfume, and I have to disagree. It's an inoffensive scent, not heavy or 'perfumy' and I don't get any sharp detergent either. It's the polar opposite of what most people would imagine a stuffy old fashioned floral to be. I would at the very worst consider it boring. But it's well balanced and inexpensive and very suitable as an everyday scent. It lasts about 5 hours for me (more or less depending on the weather, and obviously lasts longer on clothes) and has decent sillage, so its performance is better than most drugstore perfumes and actually not that bad for a fresh/light scent.

so creamy, milky, fresh, neutral, like a soft Body Lotion smell, not parfumy at all, just a lovely clean creaminess. love it, but just like everyday scent, no statement, no seductiveness there plus the bottle fits perfectly the smell, pure, milky, round, minimalistic

A mix between Dove soap and nivea body lotion. Fresh clean and a little bit floral (magnolia I guess).
