Love Is A Drug

Love is a Drug is one of my two favorite fragrances from the two Bibliothèque de Parfum Discovery Sets I've tested (I got the Florals set and the Fresh & Vibrant set). This perfume, at the first sniff, might seem like an average white floral with amber. And yes, it IS floral and amber-y but there is more to this scent than just that! It also has this very interesting, slightly tart green note (the Narcissus I presume?) that reminds me a bit of of Aqua di Gio. Don't get me wrong, it's not a dupe or anything, but the semi-sweet, floral + greenery vibes are pretty damn similar (to my nose)! But where Aqua di Gio is more wet leaves and stems, Love Is A Drug is more flower-floral. And that's actually fantastic because I love Aqua di Gio's vibe but the heavy greenery notes can be a bit tiring especially in humid weather. So, Love Is A Drug is kinda like a lighter, brighter, sweeter and more flowery take on this semi-sweet vibe and I'm definitely loving it! It's also probably the safest and the least "niche" of those scents. That's not a bad thing though! It's very, VERY beautiful, still super addicting but certainly a bit easier to wear than others imho. The lasting power of this perfume is decent I would say, but compared to Icy Wave from the same brand, Love Is A Drug's performance is quite disappointing. Not bad but I wish it lasted longer.

A very clean and dry rose and white floral scent. Not horrible but it’s missing a lot of sweetness for my nose. I surprisingly don’t get any jasmine which usually overpowers other notes to me, and I also don’t smell any amber or woody notes. If you like a soapy scent without much sweetness, this could be for you! Has minimal sillage and only lasts about an hour. Saw that this was compared to Kilian Good Girl Gone Bad but I find GGGB much more woody and sharp.
