Fleurs d'Été

I adore all of the exquisite fragrances from Bienaimé! This French perfume house dates back to 1935 and was resurrected in 2021 along with four of their original fragrances. I ordered a sample kit from their website (shipped to me in the U.S.) I will be reviewing each of the four fragrances... FLEURS D'ÉTÉ: This powdery floral bouquet pays tribute to the legendary creations of Robert Bienaimé, the nose behind the iconic and timeless Quelques Fleures. Bienaimé oversaw the creation of new perfumes for Houbigant prior to establishing his eponymous brand in 1935. Fleurs d'Été is a beautiful and unique fragrance unlike anything else I can recall. However it does remind me rather of a mix of Bienaimé‘s own flirty floral La Vie en Fleurs, and fluffy powder Jours Heureux. The opening is a lovely lilac floral, but the powdery notes including heliotrope, almond, and white chocolate soon take center stage. Viktoria Vlasova wrote a beautiful article for Fragrantica that perfectly describes this historically-inspired, impressionist watercolor of a fragrance. Highly recommended! THE PACKAGING: The beautiful bottles reflect Bienaimé's original Art Deco spirit and are reusable and recyclable. Refills are available for purchase, making these treasures a very reasonably priced luxury. FROM THEIR WEBSITE: Through the rebirth of the brand Bienaimé, the idea is to perpetuate the wonder of these timelessly charming beauty treasures and create a sensory experience that evokes emotion, that of a sweet nostalgia. Dreamlike and poetic universe Bienaimé is an ode to the memories of the past and an immersion into the heart of eternal beauty. I couldn’t agree more! IN SUMMARY: This perfume house is a treasure!! I highly recommend ordering a sample kit!, the price is deducted upon the purchase of a perfume! Even the packaging of the kit is exceptional, and it comes with a darling pink and white striped cloth pouch that is perfect for travel. I want one of each of these exquisite fragrances in my collection! But if I must choose one, La Vie en Fleurs is my favorite.

Gentler and modernised version of Quelques Fleur, sharing its genom though. Where QF is sharper, probably because of the citrus underlined by civet and oak moss, with certain coldness or sourness typical of the era, Fleurs d’Ete are toned down and blander, but not in a bad way. Like an eau de toilette suited to living in 2025: gender-less and somewhat perfume-less, like pretending that you are not wearing any fragrance at all, just exude an aura of subtlety. Understated luxury that makes you feel good about having money to splurge them this way 😁

This is pretty! It has that fluffy and flamboyant character found in most all boudoirs, but doesn’t smell outdated. I find the overarching lilac note most beautiful, purple flowers are always so delicate and contemplative in perfumery. “Summer Flowers” is the perfect name.<3

Vintage face cream smell with a little soapiness. Does smell like nivea cream! I like this more than La Vie En Fleurs which I blind bought a full bottle of.

Imagine the scent of makeup powder in the air, light and diffusive. I can't smell the note of white chocolate but I do get a very softm nonsugary sweetness upon the initial spray. I think it's the powderiness added by the almond and heliotrope that makes this smell like a contemporary take on retro perfume rather than a straight up retro perfume. Fleurs d'Été is a lovely bedtime perfume but oh so delicate, I can hardly smell it after an hour.

powdery floral with a distinctly vintage character. The composition quickly settles into a cosmetic, powdery heart dominated by heliotrope with a gentle almond like sweetness. It feels delicate and well-crafted, with a smooth balance between sweetness, powder and florals. For me, it is the best choice for daily wear among its siblings. Elegant and nostalgic, yet easy to wear and quietly refined.

soapy jasmine with a prominent aldehyde note. i liked it. even the bottle is beautiful. it takes me back to the feeling of stepping out of a shower and spritzing on a bunch of aldehydic fragrances. once it settles ur left with this stunning mix of white chocolate and orange skin omg. absolutely to die for.

I want to hug myself when I wear this. This is the perfume of nostalgia, static TV playing, the flowery couch, the sun peaking through the ruffle curtains, you're playing with dolls. This is the scent.

Smells like my grandma's old Nivea creme, I adore the other scents but this one literally smells like that Nivea tin can creme and is a NO for me
