Eau de Cologne Essences Fraîches

I love wearing this in the summer time. It's a light citrusy, herbal floral that is also refreshing. I do wish it came with an atomizer. I just decant mine in a smaller glass bottle that has one.

So, I think I did the craziest thing anyone ever has: I ordered blind a 500 ml bottle of this. Yes, half a liter! Well, it cost around ten euros so I didn't take a huge risk after all. First, the bottle is HUGE. IT is about 20 cm tall! And it's literally a bottle, you can pour the juice out! On the front it mentions the following notes in French: verbena, green lemon, thyme, rosemary, vetiver. The scent is exactly what one expects: old fashioned, refreshing, natural smelling, herbal and citrusy cologne. If you are into stuff like this, for this price it is worth to buy, no matter how the longevity is, you can apply it again and again and never run out. Or if you do you can buy another 500 ml for ten euros. To me this is very similar to other pieces of this genre, and just what I love for summer! That's half a year away, unfortunately, but just smelling this juice makes me want to go back in time and apply this in the heat. This summer sometimes I used to go sunbathing in a sports centre near to my workplace during my lunchbreaks. I was wearing my bikini beneath my summer dress so changing next to the pool was easy and fast, and then I spent 45 lovely minutes laying down sunbathing, while spritzing 4711 and another fresh summer scent from a travel atomizer. I had to refresh it every five minutes, and that was no problem, instead it was simply one pleasant part of living the dream. This will join my summer refreshment wardrobe, only I will have to find an atomizer if I want to use it outside my home.

These are lovely, light, splash style Eau de colognes. The fraiche reminds me of a discontinued Aveda scent called Valencia, which was orange and thyme, but instead of orange, this has lemon. I can smell the thyme, but I don’t really detect the rosemary. But if you like citrusy, herbal scents minus floral notes, (like the ones from L’occitane), give this a try. Not over powering, meant to refresh and to be reapplied as needed. I’m in the US, so I get these on EBay. You can find a 250ml bottle for about $20 with shipping, at the moment.
