Amazing for Men

I have had this bottle since its release in 2000, and I don't know what it is about it that makes everyone (including myself) conclude that it is boring generic. It isn't to my nose anymore, and now I really enjoy it. It is a nostalgic sweet spicy fresh thanks to the ginger note, and I can say I prefer to wear this one nowadays considering all the copies of copies we are being insulted with today. Buy it and find out for yourself.

The opening is fresh, citrus with a sweet element in the background, maybe the cactus flower (is it sweet?)or maybe the red berries. Anyway it immediately becomes a woody/spicy fragrance mainly from the sandalwood, musk, cedar and ginger but they are toned down, not overly strong. This is a fragrance that can be worn by probably anybody. Pleasant, kind of shy perfume, it smells good but doesn't scream "Here I am!!!". A crowd pleaser with no pretentions. The name "Amazing" is a little too much for this fragrance. The only amazing thing that I can see is that it can be used any time of the day and all year around. I know a name is just a name and in most cases they don't describe the scent. But if you put a name like "Amazing", then people will expect something truly amazing. In this case a better name would be "Bill Blass Classic" or "Bill Blass Gentleman". I got it for $9,90 and even though this is a very, very safe perfume, for the price and the quality I can't complaint.

The bottle is def "AMAZING",however the fragrance is rather boring. The initial top notes are refreshing and clean but soon fade to a generic detergent like smell. I gave my bottle away as it just didn't suit me,however smelled gorgeous on the friend I gave it to. I much prefer "The Fragrance" by BB which although is classed as a womens fragrance suits me very well.

This stuff actually smells ok, but it's longevity is the 3rd worse in the game, only ahead of cofinluxe and yacht man, this doesn't last longer than 30 minutes, therefore it's a no go in my rotation. I guess if you have a really boring job and every 30 minutes you rather enjoy spraying yourself with cologne, than give this one a go. It is a decent light scent, think polo green but much lighter and with a bamboo, woodsy note also in it (cactus flower an sandalwood). You can get it on Ebay for $9 bucks for 3.4 oz (tester), and that is probably this colognes only highlight, it's price. Scent:6.5 Longevity:1 Sillage:2 Unique/Industry First:7, with Bamboo, it was ahead of it's time. Quality:3 This scent pretty much evaporates after 30 minutes, why even buy it.

I didn't know for the longest time what this actually smelled like. I finally concluded that the top is some kind of tropical fruit liqueur, maybe mango? Kiwi? It starts to turn a little less tropical, perhaps into orange or tangerine, and then just briefly it seems like the fruit is going rotten as it transitions into a fruity, boozy leather base and then resolves itself. Even though it doesn't feel unmasculine to me, I thought that the top was more typical of women's perfume...then later the base becomes more "standardly" masculine. I thought I'd keep it around for variety and to figure it out, but I eventually gave up. Really fun bottle, though!

These are the words that come to mind when I think of this scent: boring, generic, typical, uneventful and uninspired. Not much thought went into the creation of this one I'm afraid. A great big "yawn." Gave my bottle away. Don't waste your time on this when there are so many better ones out there. Definitely not "amazing" at all. The one nice thing I can say about it is that the bottle is cool. Reminds me of a piece of modern art. Too bad the fragrance itself doesn't match.

Horrible! I will be 're-gifting' mine soon. I can't get past the first note that I smell and that is 'pure synthetics!' This desyinger should be ashamed of himself to put his name on this 'amature' attempt of a men's fragrance. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

This fragrance reminds me of Lipton powdered Ice Tea mix or something akin to a damp tea bag with a hint of artificial saccharin sweetness ... Add to that a touch of ginger and something that makes it quite cool - like a sweet menthol. I think an easy way to describe this is that it is the opposite of a spice warm fragrance maybe to a fault because it tries to hard to be a cold summer drink with lots of tea and ginger but no depth and spice. It's a real one liner but a fresh one liner. It's dry-down is identical to it's start with the addition of white musk and something woody. The linearity and absence of something herbal or spicy makes this a melancholy fragrance considering the upbeat note pyramid. There is something overdone and something missing - an unfortunate combination. As for the synthetic notes, they approach a metallic flavor but manage to lean away from it enough to make it bearable juxtaposed to that dry wood and white musk finish. It's like the exposed screws holding up a nice Baltic birch panel in a veneered wall. Exposed but not ugly in the overall composition. All in all a decent but underwhelming office fragrance. It won't have anyone complaining to management but you likely won't get any compliments either unless you run into someone who is really into shampoo and liquid soap scents. Update : I enjoy this one less and less the more I try to wear it. It just smells too synthetic/cloying. There is a note in it that just throws it off and makes it heavy and stale. Unfortunately that note lasts a long time.

Not a love on here for this one, and I can see why. Amazing for men is an exceedingly generic fragrance. On me, it smells overwhelmingly like shaving cream or an Axe bodywash. Now, that does not mean it is unwearable. It seems like it would be a very safe choice for guys who want to smell like they just shaved and are fresh from the shower. But it also smells like every cheap, skeezy dude you ever met. I find it baffling that such a promising notes list turns into an artificial "added fragrance" ingredient. The only elements that cut through are a slight citrus (the tangerine) and a ginger-cedar dryness. How I wish the cactus flower was stronger! As it is, Amazing is not deserving of the title.

It is fresh and the Ginger note adds a touch of warmth. I don't get the tangerine notes coming out on my skin so the overall effect may be very dependant of your skin and the heart of the fragrance is quite spicy.The dry down is OK - a rather nice musk, but it`s longevity it terrible. It`s not to bad but not "Amazing".
