Nude

The number of unique perfumes Sophia Grojsman has created that have been perpetual smashing hits for decades, is simply mind boggling. Nude is no exception. It is absolutely exquisitely crafted and the end result is nothing I have ever smelled before. Aldehydic opening is undoubtedly heady, but only for a minute or so. Grojsman has drifted away from rose-peach accord, a winning mix in many of her creations. Nude has a soft, dry and alluring beauty. It doesn't smell like perfume, but like your skin only better. Oakmoss and white musk are predominant notes on my skin (pale white Caucasian), and I do detect early in the development some polished facets of ylang ylang and rose. Orris root keeps the whole composition from crumbling into individual pieces, and makes a wonderful, sensual powdery olfactory cocoon. On my skin sandalwood is quite pronounced from the opening till the very last wafts of dry down. I would say that the sillage is quite subdued, this is definitely a skin scent. The longevity is moderate, up to 6 hours if no physical activities are involved. After about an hour, it goes straight to the dry down phase and it lingers like a second skin. Truly marvelous and unique, a must try for all olfactory afictionados. 2018 Edit I now posses around 50 perfumes in my carefully edited collection. Although Nude is not my signature scent neither is it in my Top 5, I find myself never wanting to be without it and I have just repurchased another bottle. Furthermore, it is noteworthy to emphasize that this perfume has brought me more compliments than all of my other perfumes together and then some. If one could summarize 'bang for the buck' in a product this perfume would be the living epitome that it is possible to purchase class & sophistication for around $20. Don't miss the chance.

Probably shouldn't be broadcasting this, but had to share the wealth so to speak. The original formulation of this most beautiful fragrance was distributed through Prestige Fragrances. It is printed on the label on the bottom of each bottle and on the back of the box. The reformulation (and there could be more than one, not sure) is distributed by First American. I believe this reformulation is the one that is receiving complaints. When ordering online or buying at a store just make sure you are buying a bottle from Prestige and you won't be disappointed. It still amazes me that certain fragrances that are sure fire winners are discontinued or released as "limited editions" and never heard of again. Another floral fragrance that was released and then stopped suddenly is was by Estee Lauder called "Honeysuckle Splash". Every once in awhile I find a reasonably priced bottle on eBay and scoop it up. I suppose the best thing to do is stockpile your favorites and use in rotation so you never run out. My husband thinks I'm nuts with over 200 different fragrances stored in cool, dry drawers of my vanity. He thinks I won't live long enough to ever use them all, ha! Well then my future daughter-in-law or granddaughter will inherit my collection. All I hope is they don't end up at a yard sale marked 25 cents a piece, sniff, sniff. Just got a sniff of Nude and those thoughts just fluttered away.

I've never smelled anything before like Bill Blass Nude. It's elegant, cool, bitter and herbaceous but with a very subtle underlying sweetness-that's-not-sweet (maybe the mildly smoky ylang-ylang?). It's subtle and sophisticated, clean, slightly medicinal, & unisex. Even though pear is not listed, several reviewers have mentioned it and maybe that's what gives it a slightly acetone/nail polish remover-type opening -- on top of the aldehydes. It is SO not sweet: iris (my reference is Prada Infusion d'Iris -- cool and clean), herbal, bracing rosemary (I love rosemary!), and an oakmossy smell cut into any sweetness provided -- I think -- mostly by ylang-ylang. This is a giant bargain, in my opinion (around $15), a masterpiece in the Sophia Grojsman oeuvre, different from any others I'm personally familiar with -- I usually associate her with warm peach or other fruits like in Elizabeth Taylor Diamonds & Rubies or Diamonds & Emeralds, Coty Exclamation, Vanderbilt, or the very sweet Lalique de Lalique). Nude is so composed and elegant and, as I wore it today, I was surrounded in this subtle cloud of cool, sophisticated beauty. Sillage is arm's length and longevity is about 5 hours on my dry skin (I spritzed again at lunchtime). Highly recommended, especially if you appreciate juice like Guerlain Mitsouko, the original Oscar de la Renta, or Prada Infusion d'Iris.

I always have wondered, what others meant by saying: "Perfume xyz has grown on me.." "That's silly", I thought. "You either like it or you don't, simple as that." And than came "Nude". First sniff: I hated it, I was disgusted, appalled, you name it. A scrubber. Next time: This does smell like the inside of a (clean) hospital (and I hate hospitals, even the clean ones). Or the smell of a freshly openend package of a muslin bandage. Chemical and plastical. Baeh! Than came the right day, the right mood, the right longing: I wanted to smell artifially clean. I grabbed "Nude". And I was happy with it! I wore it more often and I detected the beauty and natural side behind this artificial scent. The rose! Now all I can smell is rose, rose, rose, and one of the finest out there! Not a solifleur, not an over-styled rose, not niche. The somehow cool side of rose, with the warmness of skin. This is an offensive scent, because it so unique and tends to smell artifical; on the other hand it is the most unoffensive of all scents, because it's a plain and simple beautiful rose with a small little animal, but not the stinky one. I am absolutely sure, that this is one of those perfumes, for which they gonna pay heaps amounts of money on ebay in 10 years. A classic. I guess, "Nude" has grown on me...

"Nude" is really a strange fragrance. I did not like it at first, but now I find it quite intriguing! Even know, to me, the first spritz is the worst! It reminds me of plastic and something terribly artificial! But just after a couple of seconds the fragrance mingles with your warm skin and reveals, slowly but steady, a wonderful, fascinating and very unusual scent! Very much skin like....but not quite either.... Strangely, I do not "get" any of the above listed ingredients....noting stands really out. It is not flowery, nor fruity, nor woodsy or musky - everything seems "muted", turned down, holding back....basic...as well as it is very much revealing and present! I know it might sound strange, but this fragrance reminds me of a old silent movie, were the actors do not speak...(I mean you cannot hear them) but still you can perfectly follow the story since there is so much gesture and drama taking place. "Nude" is like this to me. A silent fragrance, but with a huge impact! Once you have smelled it on you or on another woman, you won't forget it and recognize it immediately. I would recommend this fragrance to anyone who likes unusual fragrances. "Nude" really IS one of a kind! Perfect for a mature and self-confident woman.

Hard one to explain but here what I smell : the opening is like something in the hospital or dentist probably the aldehyde, Obviously synthetic tbh It’s shock me at first but not unbearable tho since I’m familiar with this type of scent😂. Dry down is powdery when the initial medicinal quality faded something is blooming I suspect It to mainly be creamy floral and other base notes with very little almost non sweetness which resulted in a warm skin like quality, it’s smell so nice. Truly one for you to experience, This isn’t in anyway a safe blind buy people saying its a love or hate are pretty right. Despite being EDC this fragrance perform great 6 hours more or less on my skin though not a powerhouse it’s take the intimate skin scent approach which compliments the scent profile well. After my vintage buying spree this hold up nicely It’s doesn’t smell too vintagey and personally I like BB nude it’s weird but also strangely wearable, It’s those type of perfume that people are not going to says your perfume smell nice instead they’re going to comment about You, You smell nice.

Once in interview Sophia Grojsman had mentioned, that her wish is that women could wear each of her perfumes for ALL occasions, not like - this I can wear only for date and this - being busy at home. For Sophia's understanding, woman, even if she has got only one single perfume, - has rights to rock it! Fragrance should suit to all situations just fine - be it important meeting at work, getting relaxed at home with kids or fixing quick supper for family. I like that approach and many women, who love Grojsman's juices would agree - it brings happiness and feeling of being loved, like no other. Nude is not an exception, yet it is very special. For first - it is very...softly erotic, not cuddly or wild, but suggestive, sensual and very calm. Aromatic, absorbing. Orris root here is pretty much similar with Prada's Iris, also heavenly narcisses pollen is present, it definitely has this nude, realistic woman's skin personalisation, unusual and imaginative fragrance. I would say it is Sophia's secret weapon, a gift of confidence for many women in special situation, love it dearly.

This is one of my favorite perfumes!! When I first bought it, it was a blind eBay purchase so I thought I had struck gold. I sprayed it everywhere! On me, on my sheets, in my lingerie drawer, in my bathwater! Everything! I thought the aldehydes were so soft and feminine, the way it smelled powdery yet fresh & slightly green at the same time was to die for. The Orris Root in this is so lovely. I'm crazy for a good orris root note. To me, this might be the most classically feminine smell. Really lady-like, kind of old Hollywood. I love the plasticy note, it's delicate and reminded me of a babydoll or a barbie or a my little pony. It doesn't last all the way through but I love it. I still love it, but I haven't been wearing it much recently because one of my girlfriends told me it smelled masculine. Like straight up men's cologne. It has made me so self-conscious! I don't know if it's power of suggestion but now when I smell it, it smells like Men's cologne. I'm heartbroken. Does anyone else get this? Help? Soothe my soul, please? ):

I had Nude before, buy for some reason I did not appreciated it well enough. I thought that it is quiet unique, starts like nail polish remover and transfers to something really tenter and feminin. After having a baby I was sensitive for perfumes and I gave it away; What a shame, I really regret that I did it. I bought it again, as the memories could not let me pass by this wonderful scent! I just received it and I love it even more then the first time. I want to close my eyes when I'm sniffing my wrist, for some reason it is really relaxing to me, very quiet whisper like. Smooth well rounder and creamy. Yes there is still some synthetic filling about it, but it is not bothering me at all, it adds a unique nuance to it, it definitely one king of scent, if you smell it ones you will never forget it or the person who wearing it! My new favorite!!!

I recently acquired a bottle of this in a swap and feel I'm the fortunate one! The first time I tried BB Nude was on a very hot and humid day, and my thought was, "Meh.. not so great." I put it aside to try again as I now know from experience that scents react differently in varying conditions. Today it's raining and 19C/65F and this perfume is glorious. It's woody but somehow powdery at the same time. Not your grandmother's powder, but rather something from an intimate collection. The orris root, oakmoss and musk blend together to create a warm, earthy, velvet blanket on my skin, and the narcissus and ylang-ylang hover delicately on top. Not floral at all to my mind, just the echo of flowers. I find myself sniffing my wrist incessantly, trying to internalize the smell. Very unique, and very comforting. Now THIS is what perfume is all about!

With advancing age and poor health I'm becoming anosmic and have more or less given up trying and collecting new scents. However I was intrigued by reviews on here and saw Nude being offered at an affordable price (sadly it's been discontinued) so I thought 'why not'. So glad I did. It's not just a scent but a sensation one can retreat into when times are tough. It's the big whack of aldehydes, remembered from all the exciting French perfumes on my first visit to Paris. Sparkling excitement of a 'real perfume', not the same as but same effect as Ma Griffe. There's no cloying candy smell here, dancing florals with musk in the background to give it heft. Nude is so 'out there' I've kept it for private times at home feeling I dare not wear it for coffee or church. Nude is my new favourite experience. Nude I love you

Revisiting this stealthy nymph again. Memories from the first encounter, 40 years ago. My innocent nose, her cheeky surprises with her big entrance and the chase thru the green garden maze, ahhh the perfume daze and surrender! My Mom wore Rive Gauche Yves Saint Laurent and Grandma was a Chanel No 5 Belle, so I never had a fighting chance! So glad to be intoxicated with this beauty. This is a go big or stay home experience, not for the timid. It was a steal back in the day and my bottle has only gotten better, I can’t speak for the newer batches but I am sorry for those who have been robbed of this siren’s song. Try to find a vintage and get ready to find yourself in a sumptuous feast for the senses.

If I didn’t know this was by Bill Blass, I would of thought it was by Guerlain Or Lancome even Estée Lauder. Nude by B.B. is unlike any other perfume on the market, I love Nude and I’ve been wearing it for years since 2004 I think. There is nothing that smells like this. It’s such a unique scent. I absolutely love this so much. Staying power is so good and sillage is always been very good. I had a aunt who wore this in the early 90s until now. She wear Estée Lauder’s Beautiful, Bill Blass nude, & Arden True Love edt. I will never be without nude in my collection. It’s my favorite by far!

As A young teen I rembered getting a sample of this @ JCPenney.No,I rembered LOVING its scent,but totally forgetting what it was,or the name, from 15+ yrs ago and I had been hoping to figure it out.Tonite I stumbled across it listed in a clearance section @ an online discount store !" That's it !!!" I shouted to nobody in particular.OK,you get the idea.This absolutely an unforgettable perfume,even if you can't remember the name ,you WILL NOT forget the scent !! I adore it just as I do Venezia and Spellbound and a new love,Alien.I refuse to be without any of these,EVER.

First impressions: What a beautiful perfume! It smells like face cream and as someone said before, doll's heads. The person who said it smells like Yves Rocher's Clea is spot on, that's exactly what I thought at first spray. However, this perfume develops into a unique perfume in its own right. It's a very gentle smell but the sillage is heavy. The longevity is excellent. I tried to wash it off so that I could try another perfume on, but it is still there! I imagine a very innocent, fresh faced, pretty young lady wearing this perfume. Maybe a young Brooke Shields.

Someone gave this to me as a gift like 15-20 years ago. At first I remember I thought it was just ok, but it quickly grew on me. These days, when I think of nude fragrances, I think of fragrances that smell like bath soap. Nude doesn't smell like bath soap, it smells like musk and sandalwood. Those types of notes are often overpowering, but NUDE is different. It's sweet, powdery, soft, delicate, lingering, and NUDE. It's the way a woman's naked body should smell if we never bathed nor wore clothes or perfume.

It was unusual fragrance for me. When I was buying it in a store it seemed angelic to me. When I sprayed it at home, it was disgusting! I could not tolerate it wearing a whole day - I had a headache. Next day it was a pleasant angelic aroma. Don't spray a full spray. Add a tiniest drop on your neck or wrist and wait. It will be as nice as it could be. Funny that when I gave different samples of parfume to my 10 years daughter at different time, she always chose Nude as the best and nice smelling fragrance.

A signature scent for a sophisticated, feminine woman. Many florals are polite without making a statement of personal style. This floral scent has a unique twist that will get you noticed in the sublime sense of "Wow, who is she and what is she wearing?" I guarantee you could walk through a major airport and not smell this fragrance once. This is everything I had hoped the ubiquitous Chanel No. 5 would be. This scent also lives up to the often hyped "spray once and will last all day." This one really does.

Women should definitely check this out. A woman I often share a bus with wears this. The first time I smelled I wanted to find out what it was. I expected her to say something from Guerlain or Hermes, but it was Bill Blass Nude. This is a very classy feminine scent, not overpowering, that can easily pass for something ten times as expensive. Men will definitely notice it even if they don't say anything.

I get a straight-up pear upon the first few inhales. That may be the plastic-y scent many are referring to. But for me, it's a sensual pear, even. Followed by really creamy sandalwood and flattened out (ina good way) aldehydes. As a guy, I would NEVER wear this daytime to the office. It's far too sensual. But at night at home when I'm about to go to bed? Yes. It's an incredibly relaxing scent for me.
