No 2 Ambre Demi-Deuil

My absolute favourite from Binet-Papillon's compositions so far, even though I've only recently purchased their discovery kit and began experimenting with their scents. No. 2 is the most precious powdery fragrance I've met. It's not exactly that pink, light baby powder sort of powder scent, but one with a touch of depth and maturity. It's majestic with the licorice and bergamot opening which then give way to the amber and soft musk to last on my skin. It's different than the perfume house's other fragrances which tend to be a little heavier: No. 2 is airy and tender like a cloud. I might be too personally fond of this scent as it has labdanum in it as well, and labdanum is my greatest weakness.

I’m secretly glad that the Fragrantica rating on this perfume is low; it will throw people off the scent and those of us who *know* can keep Amber Demi-Deuil all for ourselves. “Demi-deuil” means “half-mourning,” a reference to the partial dress of mourning, like a black veil, worn after the full period of mourning ends. It’s an evocative name that fits the shadowy, veil-like nature of this absolutely stunning scent. Amber-Demi Deuil is a soft, powdery amber with a beautiful top note of Licorice. After the Licorice notes fly off —a little too soon, alas— you get a lightly-spiced powdery amber that lasts about 6 hours. It stays close to skin throughout the wear but when my husband leaned in for a kiss about an hour after I sprayed he complemented me —unbidden! — on my smell. I knew in that moment I’d buy a full bottle. And I have.

My eyes was hoovering on this brand since a while ago.. and i got a good bargain for a full bottle.. I am surprised of how beautiful and delicate this blend is! it's nutty powdery with a mild sweetness. Creamy amber & licorice, with some sweet sandalwood. I'm not sure i'm getting any bergamot, but sure i am getting musk, and myrrh quite well but all are within the powdery effect and delicate touch. Quite beautiful indeed, and i believe i am getting their discovery kit asap. Beautiful.

This is beautiful, kinda shares a DNA with Ahwaz kings Harem. Less subtle and enchanting. I love🥰
