Versailles - Trésor de Jardin

#1524 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant from ScentSplit. "Treasure of the Garden." No relation to the rose by that name. But with a name like that I expected something more floral than this. Bergamot, pink pepper, cinnamon, lavender, vetiver, patchouli. You can get those in many scents, many of which I have. Add in olibanum and it narrows the options considerably. Add in the balsam and coconut, this your option. The olibanum, coconut tree and balsam do the real work here. This is a great slightly spicy, masculine leaning scent that I'd be happy to get for Christmas. But it's a moderate performer, and not a cheap one at $245. If you're able to spend that kind of money I would get a decant of this and get a decant Roja "Manhattan" to compare before dropping $245. Less expensive, but more complex, does have the incense "Manhattan" lacks, would be Gisada "Ambassador Intense." This is completely inoffensive and versatile. Pricey , but I doubt many that buy it regret the purchase. I'm thinking about it.

This fragrance brings back a scent memory from when I was young. I can't identify what that is exactly, but I absolutely love this. Sort of a beautiful lavender-tinged woody scent. It has touches of green, possibly the patchouli. The incense seems more on the fresher side than churchy. It's almost ambery-feeling in the dry down. I find this a very smooth fragrance.

Yes this does smell like rehab by initio, very close. Rehab does create a sort of dreamy cloud-like atmosphere which is not totally translated here. However, it is still a beautiful aromatic lavender with vetiver peeking through. It can be a bit « heavy » for some though. Beautiful performance : can smell it radiating from my scarf when i walk in the room after 6hours

This is nice but not a love. A bit too aromatic for me. I don't think this is just like Rehab. It is in the same family, but Rehab is a bit more well-rounded to me.

Warm blend with coconut and cinnamon, with a fresh hit of bergamot, and a nicely resinous base that made me think I might want to try it again, but it smells very much like a blend of essential oils from a wicca shop, so not really a perfume I would wear out of the house. More like a ritual blessing.
