Blood Kiss

This is a review that I typed as I experienced one thing to the next. A 'live blog' of the scent, of sorts. When I first apply this, I can smell the vetiver, something a little herbaceous but also sweet in an odd way... a teeny bit of the vanilla now. And also the wine, oh wow. It really does smell sort of dangerous yet attractive... like a vampire! Fifteen minutes later, the cherry pops out and the vanilla is a little more noticeable. Gah I love this one. Hooray, after half an hour I can catch some of the clove! And an hour later now the cherry has died down a bit on my wrists and it's all about the vetiver and spices. The cherry/wine is still noticeable on my neck, however. ...And now, four hours in, it's pretty much spiced wood. Somewhat of an incense-like note! And still quite noticeable, too. Subtle and discreet, this ain't (but it isn't obnoxious or over the top either).

I adore BPAL scents, and of the ones I've tried, this is infinitely my favorite. It does have the typical drawbacks of BPAL: the sillage is not the best, its rather weak. But I like to layer them with other scents, so I don't mind. The longevity on this scent is fantastic on me, lasts at least 7 hours. In the bottle its a very sharp scent- I don't actually like the scent in the bottle. But once its on my skin I'm obsessed- it starts very fresh for me, I get the honey notes and some cherry. It mellows after several hours into a deep, *incredibly* melty warm scent. I definitely get the wine and poppy. 10/10 my fave BPAL scent.

notevolissimo e complesso questo olio vampiresco, per colore e per nome, è sinora il mio preferito tra la roba sniffata prodotta da BPAL. le note iniziali sono di vetiver erboso, umido e un tantino ferale, maschile e gotico. basta un momento: subito seguono sentori di vino rosso e vaniglia, con miele. poi ancora spunta la ciligia che, quasi nascondendosi, ricompare a intermittenza alternandosi con chiodi di garofano. l'assestamento è di muschio rosso, misto ad una sensazione di legno speziato. nonostante il tripudio di note che si avvicendano, rimane un profumo discreto e non invasivo. ottimo!

This was one of my first perfume oil purchases from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. It has since been one of my favorites. The lab's description of it is perfection. It is truly lush and creamy and I pick up the cherry, vetiver, red wine, clove, and feral musk. I'm not sure if I can really detect the poppy, but it does not matter to me. I adore this perfume <3 It has moderate lasting power and moderate to low throw. I get lots of compliments when I wear this.

Beautiful warm, dark scent. It starts off heavy on the cherry, softening into a clove dominant, incense-y type of fragrance on my skin. If you heat up the scent (I wore it while doing my usual walk around the park), the vanilla will come out and really shine. While this is my first scent from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab it definitely won't be my last! This scent is really wonderful and one I would recommend.
