Universal Supreme

Considering I'm not from the US, my first thought when smelling the cherry wasn't medicine, but candies or popsicles, cherry scented stationery. Summer does come to mind. It smells a bit like concrete next to a swimming pool. Chlorine and minerals. Grassy and green only faintly. It's not flower-forward which I'm extremely happy about. Eventually just the chlorine and cherry linger, making me smell like I had a swim earlier. But if you concentrate, a fresh and damp woody smell like a newly built sauna comes to mind. Despite the notes, to me it's not feminine. It does remind me of better times, when eating your flavoured lip balm was still tolerated. I'm not a fan of mixing perfumes, but combine with a single spray of Pipe Bomb Pink and you'd almost forget you aren't a kid wearing a mom-approved amount of sunscreen blowing bubbles in the park.

The initial blast was disgusting to my nose. It had an almost metallic smell to it. Upon reading about it and seeing the idea behind the perfume, I must say it fairly reaches its goal, which is why i didn't give it the lowest rating. I would hate to smell like hay, cherry push pops and swimming pool, personally. I would be fascinated to observe the person/persons who can pull this one off. I am sorry that this is my first impression of this house. Yuck! I will be brave and give it another go with another scent...I guess...

Interesting. Reminds me of a weirder version of Lolita Lempicka Sweet. Gives me sno-cone vibes with hay lol. Oud isn't distinguishable in this for me at least, which is a positive for me. Still prefer LL sweet though.

at first, it's a sweet, tart cherry with a metallic edge. i'm finding that most of the blackbird scents open really sharp, weird, and strong. when it settles a bit, the powderiness comes out more. it's almost waxy, i think the comparison to lip balm is really apt. the number one thing this smells like is the red lip smackers chapsticks of the 90s and 2000s. definitely hits that childlike feeling i don't like most of the notes in this anyways, but there's something chemically and sharp in it that is actually putting me off the most. maybe it's supposed to be the chlorine from a pool? whatever it is, it's viscerally unpleasant

I do NOT like this one. To be fair and give context to my interview, I don't like most cherry scents, and especially not cherry candy. This is a light cherry candy...it isn't the deeper cherry flavor that is used in other scents and food items. It is essentially a cherry sucker...and not my bag. That being said, the cherry opening, while harsh, fades somewhat and isn't as overwhelming at first sniff. It mellows into a sweet floral, a bit like the cherry blossoms in Sakura by Dior, but not as exotic as that scent. Some may enjoy it...if cherry is your thing, give it a sniff.

You're 19 years old and your 30 year old boyfriend bought you a two-for-one discount slurpee from 7-11, and you're hanging out in a hot parking lot watching him play Magic the Gathering with his unwashed friends. He drinks half your Slurpee. You get a sunburn. On the way home you stop by the gas station and he hits on the underaged cashier. (Or, I didn't like my strip test so much that I didn't try it on my skin, and it was the sweetest, vaguely trashy, most intense cherry thing I've ever smelled. Also i guess I'm not the only one who thought of Lana del Rey.)

Smells exactly like a nauseating, low quality bulk cherry candy that has been forgotten in the back of a cupboard for years.

Non offensive but a little too odd for me. Maybe I'm not the market for this.

Lana Del Rey in Universal Supreme by Blackbird: Coney Island, CA. Lana is asleep on the front lawn letting the sun dry her after a dip in the pool. Inescapable heat, scraped knees, and screaming elbows, absolutely nothing to do (yet so much to do), laying in warm grass, watching (yet so much to do (yet so much to do (yet so much to do). A cherry popsicle melting on the gated communities fresh asphalt to reveal itself as juice. That being said, the juice, really a cherry, is very odd. That being for me, but maybe I’m not the deeper cherry sucker... As the heat beats down on the melted popsicle, it brings to the surface the god-fearing cypress and frankincense. Smelling Salts. Last night was turbulent for Del Rey, a rendez-vous with tattooed daddies. Another bartender, another bender, a bit strung out on an old wood floor. Mother always said saltwater pools were best for a gal’s skin, but the chlorine water, being at once so soft and so rough reminded me of that guy, and I love him. Chlorination is the Americana open-road. Chlorination is where I got down on my knees and prayed. Prayed to the old gods of pipe tobacco and motor-oil I found in grandad’s barn. But I’ve never been one to sniff Daddy’s-cologne and tell. Ever since I got down to this sacred asphalt, fingers stained with strawberries and dried grass in my toes, it smells like summer-should, but still really sad... :( Is this someone’s idea of a joke? “Maybe I’ll say heliotropes in one of my songs ”. The initial blast is a very odd, almost medicinal cherry? Kind of like a cough medicine but also a medicinal smell? It's odd. I don't hate it, but it's a weird first sniff. But it's in the drydown that I really start to like this perfume a lot. It's delightfully weird and interesting, yet not so weird as to be something you don't want to smell like. The floral notes are excellently blended and give it a feminine touch, even though they're a little hard to identify. But you also have the woody notes — the hay and cedar, but also the agarwood giving it an oud note, but not one that overpowers the fragrance, just deepens it a bit. But weirdly, the cherry sticks around! And it gives the juice a really sweet, fun note. It does feel like summer and swimming pools and cherry popsicles and warmth, but just, a grown up version of all those things! The more it wears and the more I get from the original cherry note, the more I'm loving this fragrance.

This one is a little weird, sure.... Cherry is a hard note to nail down. Here it’s kept fruity and bright w the strawberry; not natural smelling- but also not unpleasantly synthetic. “Swimming pool” is listed as a note but it’s not in the pyramid, and that’s probably what’s keeping this one on the odd/unnatural side. But I do find it addictive, and on clothes the cherry and chlorine linger..... like a cherry popsicle that fell in the pool

Here's a new one for people that are looking for cherry scents! This has soft sillage so you can wear it to the office or wherever you want your fragrance to be less obtrusive. It's a cherry candy smell with woody undertones, dries down to a powdery heliotrope and mixed woods.
