1907

Collector's piece. I love this, but man this is an expensive pill to swallow. Presentation, bottle, aura, branding, and even the juice itself are luxurious. This is GOF's daddy, and rightfully a more mature fragrance with a definite distinction to God of Fire but early in its development will remind you of that dna. I hate factoring price/performance on a fragrance, but I MUST do it to this one. I mean, GOF will run you ~$200 for 50ml and this one will run over $400 for 100ml so you can barely justify price/ml. In this case, performance is all I hear about this one "beast GOF, this improves on everything GOF does" I honestly don't even know if I find them redundant to own. This DOES NOT have superior performance to GOF by a lot, and when I say performance I say specifically projection because longevity here is actually great ~8h detectable very close to the skin after hour-3. Not beast mode in any aspect! Scent profile is more involved/versatile than GOF. I dislike comparing them the whole time, but many do so. I am trying to steer you away from sticking to those comparisons and evaluate it on its own. This not a dupe by all means, especially once the top notes start going away - mango nowhere in the declared notes but there is a similar accord - but the opening few 30min or so could have that resemblance. After then, this is more sober, bit more masculine even, possibly an year round slightly fresh, woodsy, soft tobacco aromatic fragrance. Worth the experience and the spurge, but unjustifiable if you are just looking for "a" fragrance/tool in your wardrobe. Lastly, comparing this to either Limonata or Porthole is wild to me! The two smell similar between each other, but not to 1907.

Initially, I wrote this off for how overpriced it is. When I first tried it months ago, I immediately said "oh that's just god of fire, don't need it". However, I tested god of fire and 1907 side by side on skin recently, and I can say 1907 improves on god of fire in every way. Projection and longevity is better, it is a little smoother and better blended, and not that oud was that prominent in god of fire, but it isn't at at all in 1907 which for me I much prefer. There's also a slight added depth to 1907, coming off a tad bit richer. I would say you could wear this one pretty much year round due to that. God of fire is a little more airy, and a bit lighter, making it stick in that spring/summer category. I asked my girlfriend's opinion on 1907 and she loved it. When I've asked her opinion on god of fire in the past she has liked before saying it smells good, but never really gave an enthusiastic response towards it. So even to the "non-trained nose" so to speak, an improvement is noticed. It absolutely is not worth almost $700. However, it's starting to make its way to discounters becoming more affordable. Nevaeh has it for $460, which if you think about, god of fire is around $200 - $220 for a 50ml bottle. So for double the amount of juice you pay double the price, maybe paying around $40 - $60 more. If you phrase it that way, 1907 is 100% worth $50 more with improvements across the board. Managed to find a 65-70% full bottle for $350 on facebook, which I think is totally worth it. TLDR; Price excluded, this is undoubetly an incredible fragrance and an improvement in every way to god of fire. If you can find it for a decent price under $480 I think it's worth it.

I found the lemon too strong in the opening (Which I couldn't stand) and persists all throughout. The lemon does blend nicely well though - it's the only smell i can discern. Maybe i'm sensitive to lemon scents? Anyway, I did end up loving it now that i've owned it for a while now. I don't know if I tricked my brain, but it did work out for me because of the dry down. Speaking of which.. The dry down is a nicely blended warm, slightly sweet woody musk smell... there's a lil lemon. It's fruity woody. I honestly cannot pick out the individual notes apart but damn that dry down is GOOOOOOD. I do prefer this over God of Fire and Vulcan Feu. If the price of 1907 bothers you (it should, because 600+ for a bottle..? the helly?!): go with Vulcan Feu for most affordability. My only complaint: the price lol. I got it for a pretty reasonable discount. I suggest waiting for sales if you really want this. My all year signature scent. 10/10 Edit: dropping from my signature scent. it's nice but i dont think it's good on me- it seems it just doesnt work on my skin. I liked it on other people though.

This is no doubt a stunning and easy head-turner. The only thing that stopped me from leaving the store with a bottle in hand was that they were on pre-order - and if I am paying retail for a fragrance, I much prefer to leave the store with a full presentation bottle. Sooooo here's the honest truth- after a few hours of wearing 1907 my friend agreed that I smelled really good- but also reallllllly familiar - and she's not even into fragrances like most of us here on Fragrantica. So, for a non-enthusiast collector to clock the familiarity... that was really surprising and telling for me. 1907's opening is knee buckling however it definitely dries down almost identical to those ever popular sweet, woody, musks. If money is no object and you want a better blended less synthetic God of Fire style frag, 1907 will leave you pleased and smelling fabulous. Otherwise, 1907 does give dupe (but done better) energy. Edit: I bought a full bottle. The retail pricetag was no fun, however I decided that I’d rather have one bottle of 1907 vs. a few bottles of its screechy, synthetic counterparts.

As much as I enjoy the God of Fire creation I can't deny what everyone says about this fragrance "its the smoother version" "less screechy" etc because its what it is! Imagine God of Fire with less of the opening funk (that sometimes makes me move my hand to another bottle in my collection) I have to be really in the mood to wear it because of that whereas 1907 is a lot more of a dumb reach. Not sure why there's 6 thumbs down on the 'Reminds me of' of God of Fire, it can't be mistaken as anything other than a usual Boadicea enhanced clone. Overall: slightly more lemony, slightly less spicy, stronger performance and none existent screechy opening of God of Fire. If you like that you will also like this. Redundancy level is so high you won't need both so I'm considering where GOF has a place in my collection now I purchased this.. hmm! Would I buy: Proudly in my collection as of 04/01/2025 my first of 2025! Recommended: Its a lot more expensive than its counterpart, sample both and decide if the differences are worth it for you.
