Energizer

There’s nothing groundbreaking here or life changing. Or maybe, what is groundbreaking is just how good Energizer is. This is the fragrance equivalent of someone telling you everything is going to be okay and believing it. Energizer is hope in a bottle. It’s standing in a grapefruit grove peeling and eating on a sunny day. Blue skies, not a cloud in the sky, during the heart of growing season, and very green citrus trees as far as the eyes can see. It’s not the best fragrance I have ever smelled (not by a long shot), but oddly, that is what makes Energizer so amazing. How great it is at being ordinary. The friend that has lived next door your entire life who you never realized had a smoking body. You could likely overlook this one for the other fragrances of this house. And I probably would have if I wasn’t t looking to buy multiple bottles at the time of purchase. Still, once you notice, you notice. Could Energizer be better? Sure. Lean into the vetiver a little more. Maybe a hint of a white flower, a little humidity for drama, add an accord that speaks to where this citrus grove is located. They could have definitely played with the scent to create something truly magical. However, to create a citrus fragrance that hangs around to be noticed is truly something special.

When I was a kid my dad, brother and I used Coast soap when we took showers. When I hear a fragrance smells “fresh out of the shower”, I want it to smell like Coast soap because, to me, that’s fresh out of the shower. When I sprayed on Energizer, I picked up Coast soap immediately. Energizer makes me happy. It’s such and uplifting scent and easy to wear in the summer or hot days. This is quintessential “fresh out of the shower” for me!! Cheers! 03/10/2026 Edit: We had one of those warm 70 degree March days yesterday in WI and decided to give Energizer a go. I have to admit, the opening to Energizer is very citrus forward. Very "rindy". 20 minutes later is starts to settle. Went about my day and this lasted well over 8 hours. One complement in the doctors office by a cute nurse walking behind me...."whatever cologne you're wearing, you smell good". I awkwardly say "Boadicea the Victorious Energizer"......then the look of confusion by the nurse. Anyhoo!! I know people can't get past the opening and I completely understand how off-putting it can be. But, I love wearing this when it's sunny/warm/hot because it's flipping fantastic!

This perfume is one of those that I wore casually, going out with some friends, expecting to receive little attention, but surprisingly enough, I received more compliments than expected. Some of my friends asked me what I was wearing, and one of them told me immediately that I smelled expensive when arriving. The first impression left by this fragrance is a strong, refreshing, and energizing aroma, which is really pleasant and easy to wear. The perfume has a nice composition, which is fresh and sophisticated, at the same time being easy for people to smell. The most pleasant feature of the perfume was its natural wear during the whole day, which remained fresh and elegant and continued attracting compliments long after applying it. In other words, sometimes such perfumes, which attract the maximum amount of compliments, do not make much noise about their presence but just make people get close to them. A wonderful perfume by Boadicea the Victorious, which not only has a pleasant aroma but can attract compliments effectively too. A 8.5/10 scents.

The most photorealistic citrus zest fragrance I've ever tried on its opening. While there are more citrus fragrances that I can count, this one stands out to me because nearly every other fragrance of this type focuses on the juice aspect of the fruit whereas the citrus oil is the main focus here. It's like when you take a plump pomelo or grapefruit and fold the zest out against itself causing all the oil pockets to explode into the air in a mist of bitter oil goodness. Take that and bottle it all up and Energizer is what you have. My only qualm is that once the top notes fade you start to get really heavy into the petitgrain and it can be a polarizing note even for citrus lovers. This is also amazing as a layering fragrance anytime you want to add a shot of citrus fresh at a price point ($150/100ml at discounters) that doesn't make you question it too much. Comparatively, something like Guerlain's Bergamote Fantastico Extrait 11 which while also amazing, was designed to be layered and $660 for 50ml.

Really surprised by this one goes on with a mass of lemon, grapefruit and lime...in fact every kind of citrus! It's a face strunching opening and has a massive accord of ginger to me which is reminiscent of Dior Homme sport. I think it's the petitgrain and earthy opening of vetiver giving the ginger type smell but that settles right down after about 10 mins. All bets are off after that and this becomes a beautifully crystal clear fragrance with a huge juicy mandarin note and then its clean green vetiver and long lasting assimilation of citruses. A minor criticism perhaps is that it transitions a little quickly from opening to basically what you get for several hours after saying that some fragrances don't even have a transition so maybe a moot point? I love this so much it's zingy and bright as any citrus slightly peppery spice with the gorgeous cleanness of Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. A citrus worthy of the price tag!
