Energizer

There’s nothing groundbreaking here or life changing. Or maybe, what is groundbreaking is just how good Energizer is. This is the fragrance equivalent of someone telling you everything is going to be okay and believing it. Energizer is hope in a bottle. It’s standing in a grapefruit grove peeling and eating on a sunny day. Blue skies, not a cloud in the sky, during the heart of growing season, and very green citrus trees as far as the eyes can see. It’s not the best fragrance I have ever smelled (not by a long shot), but oddly, that is what makes Energizer so amazing. How great it is at being ordinary. The friend that has lived next door your entire life who you never realized had a smoking body. You could likely overlook this one for the other fragrances of this house. And I probably would have if I wasn’t t looking to buy multiple bottles at the time of purchase. Still, once you notice, you notice. Could Energizer be better? Sure. Lean into the vetiver a little more. Maybe a hint of a white flower, a little humidity for drama, add an accord that speaks to where this citrus grove is located. They could have definitely played with the scent to create something truly magical. However, to create a citrus fragrance that hangs around to be noticed is truly something special.

When I was a kid my dad, brother and I used Coast soap when we took showers. When I hear a fragrance smells “fresh out of the shower”, I want it to smell like Coast soap because, to me, that’s fresh out of the shower. When I sprayed on Energizer, I picked up Coast soap immediately. Energizer makes me happy. It’s such and uplifting scent and easy to wear in the summer or hot days. This is quintessential “fresh out of the shower” for me!! Cheers! 03/10/2026 Edit: We had one of those warm 70 degree March days yesterday in WI and decided to give Energizer a go. I have to admit, the opening to Energizer is very citrus forward. Very "rindy". 20 minutes later is starts to settle. Went about my day and this lasted well over 8 hours. One complement in the doctors office by a cute nurse walking behind me...."whatever cologne you're wearing, you smell good". I awkwardly say "Boadicea the Victorious Energizer"......then the look of confusion by the nurse. Anyhoo!! I know people can't get past the opening and I completely understand how off-putting it can be. But, I love wearing this when it's sunny/warm/hot because it's flipping fantastic!

This perfume is one of those that I wore casually, going out with some friends, expecting to receive little attention, but surprisingly enough, I received more compliments than expected. Some of my friends asked me what I was wearing, and one of them told me immediately that I smelled expensive when arriving. The first impression left by this fragrance is a strong, refreshing, and energizing aroma, which is really pleasant and easy to wear. The perfume has a nice composition, which is fresh and sophisticated, at the same time being easy for people to smell. The most pleasant feature of the perfume was its natural wear during the whole day, which remained fresh and elegant and continued attracting compliments long after applying it. In other words, sometimes such perfumes, which attract the maximum amount of compliments, do not make much noise about their presence but just make people get close to them. A wonderful perfume by Boadicea the Victorious, which not only has a pleasant aroma but can attract compliments effectively too. A 8.5/10 scents.

The most photorealistic citrus zest fragrance I've ever tried on its opening. While there are more citrus fragrances that I can count, this one stands out to me because nearly every other fragrance of this type focuses on the juice aspect of the fruit whereas the citrus oil is the main focus here. It's like when you take a plump pomelo or grapefruit and fold the zest out against itself causing all the oil pockets to explode into the air in a mist of bitter oil goodness. Take that and bottle it all up and Energizer is what you have. My only qualm is that once the top notes fade you start to get really heavy into the petitgrain and it can be a polarizing note even for citrus lovers. This is also amazing as a layering fragrance anytime you want to add a shot of citrus fresh at a price point ($150/100ml at discounters) that doesn't make you question it too much. Comparatively, something like Guerlain's Bergamote Fantastico Extrait 11 which while also amazing, was designed to be layered and $660 for 50ml.

Really surprised by this one goes on with a mass of lemon, grapefruit and lime...in fact every kind of citrus! It's a face strunching opening and has a massive accord of ginger to me which is reminiscent of Dior Homme sport. I think it's the petitgrain and earthy opening of vetiver giving the ginger type smell but that settles right down after about 10 mins. All bets are off after that and this becomes a beautifully crystal clear fragrance with a huge juicy mandarin note and then its clean green vetiver and long lasting assimilation of citruses. A minor criticism perhaps is that it transitions a little quickly from opening to basically what you get for several hours after saying that some fragrances don't even have a transition so maybe a moot point? I love this so much it's zingy and bright as any citrus slightly peppery spice with the gorgeous cleanness of Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. A citrus worthy of the price tag!

Updating my review after living with this fragrance for over a year and using 40% of my 100ml bottle. High-quality, highly concentrated citruses. I think this is as far as you can go with natural citrus materials, without burning or bleaching your skin. It is exceedingly rare to have a citrus that smells this natural with good performance. Usually you pick one or the other. This is a citrus BOMB. It carries several varieties but to me the white grapefruit rises above the rest you will be hit with a powerful, bracing grapefruit from the jump. It's grounded by petigrain, musk and vetiver. This is in my opinion, one of the best citrus dominant fragrances ever created (that I've smelled) and is worth what I paid ($160 for 100ml) for niche citrus lovers. ××××××××××××××××××××××× Scent 98/100 Performance 80/100 ×××××××××××××××××××××××

Supercharged Grapefruit/Petitgrain Powerhouse. This is a fresh citrus (green/grapefruit/petitgrain) with real staying power. It’s a pretty linear wear with a little bit of depth. Smells expensive. Could still smell a trace on my skin the next morning, had a lemon drop scent. It’s perfect as it is, a brisk, bitter citrus without a “softener” added, like vanilla or amber or some other sweet base. I love citrus fragrance and have several, I have to say this is the strongest and longest lasting one in my collection. If you’re not super into citrus frags, move on to something else instead of wishing this one, like all the others, was sweet.

A truly stunning summer scent that won me over with one spray alone. The opening reminded me of Afternoon Swim. Afternoon Swim opens up with a realistic, green, orange scent that can be described as peeling a fresh, juicy orange. But that's where the comparison end because Energizer goes into a different direction. Energizer does open with a realistic green note, but it's more grapefruit rather than orange. As it dries down it tries not to change much. It keeps a green,light, and airy composition. Performance is weak for the price that you pay for a full bottle, but thankfully I bought my bottle at a good deal.

This is one of the best citrus fragrances on the market. The realistic grapefruit and lime score a glorious goal, with the green petitgrain playing an assist. Energizer does not project too much, but is very long lasting, so you will enjoy it throughout your day, without choking or offending others. BTV bottles are beautiful, and this is no exception, rounding off this olfactory experience in a luxury way. It conjures up the image of a refreshing gin and tonic on a summer Mediterranean patio, glass stuffed with delicious fresh fruits picked earlier that day.

Photorealistic orange. Smells more like Clementine Oranges or better put, this smells like atelier Clementine on the dry down with a slight green tinge coming from the vetiver. The quality is here. Brighter. Citrus. And one of the more affordable offerings from the line. This one is a stronger lasting scent than most others in this category. Starts off resembling Renaissance by xerjoff but ends up with the predominant orange note undercut by the other notes. Fantastic for summer and spring. If citrus is your jam, this is for you. 4.2/5

WTF are reviewers on here for minimizing the quality of this fragrance.. “It’s JUST a photorealistic grapefruit”......well yeah thats not easy to do. “It only lasts 5.5 hours on the skin”(omg) show me another perfect grapefruit or citrus fragrance that can offer more! There’s only 2 other citrus/freshies that can compete(actually beat) for lasting power. Hacivat and Aqua Viva. This is truly incredible and worth checking out. ....one caveat.....it kinda really does remind me of leau d’ issey homme⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This perfume is an absolute burst of citrusy clean scents. It's an immediate attack the moment you smell it, to some it could smell very dishwasher soapy, I see it but I absolutely love such scents. It's not as complex, rather it's a very simple scent that just brings much joy however not completely unique. I do love it and it's to me worth the price as the longevity is there which is rare for a citrus-based perfume.

This is straight-up grapefruit rind in the best, most natural way. Super zesty, super crisp—and it lasts. Yeah, it’s pricey, but finding a grapefruit-forward scent that isn’t a Tygar dupe and sticks around? Rare. Up to you if loving grapefruit is worth the price tag. Try this one if you like Kerosene’s Summer of 1984 or Byredo's Palermo.

It's just wooooow! Incredible and 1/1 realistic beautiful juicy fresh grapefruit! And with the another fruits and a vetiver and petitgrain it's more complex than you think. Energizer is a good name... because it is!I love it Longevity is better if you using a non smell moisturizer. I recommend if you like a grapefruit smell! :)

It’s incredibly refreshing and bright. True to its name in every way! If you feel like a pick me up at the beginning or end of the day this is the one to use! It’s a fantastic fresh invigorating scent.

30JAN2025 Its still cold to cool weather. I have to wait til summer to have opinion. Energizer not screechy! Perfums in this style like LIGHT BLUE INTENSE, HACIVAT, etc are screechy.

Beautifully complex green, citrus dominated scent. No other citrus scent can be compared to this one.

Super fresh citrus. High projection for first ~2 hours then lingers on for several hours (7 for me).

a breath of freshness in the summer heat

Been on a BTV lately and have tried quite a few of the cheaper ones recently. This being the one people told me to try the most. VERY realistic citrus in the opening but man, my nose and this combination of petitgrain and perhaps a bit of neroli just can't agree. It's the case for Gentleman Cologne, for example, as the construction is amazing but those two notes just get too prominent off my skin. The green facet slowly dries to, which is also very obvious, a nice vetiver base with still lingering aspects of the sweetness of the citrus. Not linear nor boring at all. Performance is okay I want to say ~4.5 hours on skin, with maybe an hour past that as a skin scent. After 5.5-6 hours I couldn't pick anything up from my arms. However, the longevity isn't the big issue for me, but rather not smelling it on myself at all, after probably the 1st hour. It doesn't project off me, even with some heat, just doesn't. That's the main issue for me - not the compliments, not being beast mode, but I just can't smell the frag (not because of olfactive fatigue or anything like it). Price? I mean, you get the quality in it, but for me it's a pass solely because of the lack of "perfumation" on myself. Not smelling it on me killed any desire to buy for the quality and scent.

(This review is for Eau de Perfume) ENERGIZER opens with a strong burst of very aromatic and almost herbal greens mixed with strong lime, bergamot and grapefruit. Despite very pronounced citrus notes I would not say that it is just straight up citrus juice. I think it is the petit grain that gives it a green almost herbal note. I smell mostly cypress and a bit of petit grain not musk in the heart notes. The heart notes are subtle and purely fresh like a cold drink on a hot day. The dry down is slightly soapy vetiver with a touch of musk. I actually find it quite pleasant considering that I mostly dislike soapy scents. This is truly unisex to me. I would love to smell it on a guy but I think it could be worn by a woman. ENERGIZER fits best for a summer heat. The advertising compares this fragrance with the Mediterranean sun and I tend to agree that there is something summery fresh and bright about this scent that brings images of hot days somewhere in Sicily. The sillage and longevity are medium.

Today: March 3, 2022. I believe I’m finally ready to write my take on this fragrance after two years of owning this fragrance. I have to say I got it for free , a 50 mil bottle back when this house used to give you those as complementary with every full bottle you purchase. I remember how synthetic felt to me the opening, now it’s not like that anymore. Even back then it was always easy to wear for hot days. It’s a fresh citrus scent that goes on for more than 8 hours but with a very small bobble around you, it never gets sweet but the Vetyver keeps it grounded and woodsy in the dry down. To me is an easy 8 out of 10 bc of the price but I’m thankful I have it and trust me I wear this a lot summer .if you looking for a sweet and citrus fragrance this is not, this will give you the same feeling as a fragrance like Terre D’Hermes eau intense vetyver ( in the dry down ) so there you have it . For halve the price it would have been an easy 10/10.

Opens with a ton of bright citruses and grapefruit. There is a sweet and tart feeling, but the citrus feel really dominates everything else. 45 minutes later, it starts sitting pretty close to the skin - same notes, plus a slight addition of vetiver and a very mild saltiness becomes apparent. It's decent enough, and if you really like citrus fragrances, this may be for you. But, it really doesn't do anything to stand out from the crowd of other citrus-dominant fragrances. Try before you buy and see if this is in your wheelhouse. It's a "meh" for me though, 5/10.

The most authentic citrus scent I have yet to come accross. It truly feels like you’ve just squeezed fresh citrus and applied the juice directly to your skin, without any screechiness Energizer is incredibly sophisticated and natural, with delightful green notes of petitgrain and vetiver that contribute to its woodsy freshness. I really can’t understand why this natural scent is being compared to that unpleasant Miyake fragrance; they are worlds apart. All in all, not something I would seek out, but something I could appreciate.

On me, this does smell terrific for an hour; it just does not last long on my skin. It is a top-note, linear, citrus-forward, clean scent without much sillage. I wish more effort went into developing its longevity instead of the bottle design and packaging. At least the magical box can be repurposed.

Well there is no doubt Energizer is a high quality Citrus Aromatic. Very natural. Its a citrus bomb, with just enough petitgrain and vetiver to give it a nice nuanced woody texture. I have enough of this genre in my collection as is, so I'll pass on an expensive full bottle buy.

Opens very fresh, zesty and sweet. The grapefruit is leading but there is a whole lot of citrus goodness radiating off the skin. A base composed of vetiver and white musk is enveloping the citruses, creating an aromatic aroma. It's a nice energizing perfume. 7/10

Lime fragrance. It’s neither dynamic nor long lasting but it does smell great. Clean and bright. Pure, no chemical smell. Anybody can wear this and it may be a great layering option. 6/10.

Very photorealistic sour citrus opening and dries down to a more typical citrus freshie imo I don’t get any crazy performance it’s just ok to me

Lemon, bergamot, something soapy, and more lemon. A strong, long lasting citrus if that is your thing. I personally can't stand the soapiness.

Energiser is a fragrance which 100% matches its name, which isn’t to say that I particularly enjoy it. This is a citrus which is outrageously sharp and invigorating, it’s almost like smelling-salts in fragrance form. The lime is what jumps out to me, which is bitter and rindy with that eye-watering sourness in the peel, furthered by a bitter-green herbaceous-ness. Orange also has a strong presence, which is again quite bitter and zesty. I feel like there must be mint as well, despite it not being listed, as it gives off a strong mojito resemblance. This persists throughout the life of the fragrance, it doesn’t have much of a journey. So if you like ridiculously punchy citrus scents, this may be for you. As for me, I’ll pass thank you very much.

As stated by others, photo-realistic citrus with some woodsy notes to balance it out. Truly smells as if you juiced and zested citrus in the middle of the woods. Decent longevity for a citrus. It's important to note that although this is an inoffensive fragrance, it is quite linear and simple. I personally prefer other citrus fragrances, such as Hacivat or Petit Matin, that have more complexity and transformation from opening to dry down. Smells like a less woody D&G Light Blue with a better quality citrus. Given the simple nature of this fragrance and better options at a ~$300 price point, this fragrance is not worth purchasing.

Just got this in from purchasing a travel size on their site. Opens up with a very bright but sharp and rindy citrus. Almost too sharp, gives me hints of L’eau D’Issey by Issey Miyake. It then settles with less sharpness and smells like you just rubbed a fresh grapefruit rind on yourself. After that the smell stays pretty linear with this profile into the dry down. Not bad but not amazing either. If you love a very citric sour/fresh take on grapefruit though you’ll probably like this.

Hyper-realistic citrus mainly grapefruit rind, orange and (a bit too much) lime to my nose, petitgrain adds a bit of greenness to fragrance. It does come across mildly bitter but fresh and well... energizing, has a faint similarity to Xerjoff Renaissance. Lasts quite a while for a citrus scent, light projection, 5-6 hours longevity. Overall I'd give it a 6.5/10, nice, but not full bottle worthy.

I get predominately grapefruit and petitgran with vetiver giving it the woody base. The grapefruit is more like grapefruit rind and petitgran is bitter orange so this stuff is pretty bitter. Very straightforward scent. Longevity is not good. I am not a fan of grapefruit or bitter orange so, this is not for me

Yes, it smells and performs fairly similar to Xerjoff Renaissance, but only in its later stages. The opening is extremely lime/petitgrain heavy and if you get the dish soap association, you're going to have a weird 20 minute experience. Beyond that, it smells expensive, fresh, and extremely simple. The musky mid and light woody drydown are very nice but you're getting those with thousands of fragrances. If you don't mind exchanging the lime dish soap opening for a juicy realistic tart mandarin orange one, Renaissance is a better choice at this price point, as it's even fresher in the high heat with its minty accord. Or check out 1/4 of the Acqua Di Parma catalogue. Or go with the original Eau D' Orange Verte or so many other scents that offer a near identical experience. One of the worst uses of 270€ I could think of, and I own a lot of overpriced stuff. Goes for 150-170€ on discounters which makes the expense more bearable, the presentation is ace after all, but still, it's a huge no for me. The opening will probably refrain me from testing this a third time.

Perfect duplication of the smell of citrus-scented hand soap. So, if you want to smell exactly like citrus-scented hand soap, this is the fragrance for you. Otherwise, do not bother. Performance is surprisingly good for a citrus fragrance, but, again, it smells exactly like citrus-scented hand soap, so who really cares?

Lasts very long compared to other citrus scents. Unfortunately I could not enjoy it. For me it smells like a dishwasher, just very soapy citrus.

this smells like pickle juice + vinegar + sweat. This isn't juicy or delicious citrus. I do not want to smell like this.

Unsurprisingly smells like many conventional summer colognes with a strong green fruity floral accordance but not overpowering... high quality components , pleasant sweet and sour citrus zest feeling clean and soapy , absolutely not a unique scent and reminds me of many others like issey miyake colognes at a much lower cost.energizer has great longevity and sillage. عطر تابستانی دوست داشتنی و لطیف و با کیفیتیه و در عین حال که از پخش و ماندگاری بالایی برخورداره به هیچ وجه مصنوعی و آزاردهنده نیست اما واقعیت اینه که کمتر کسی حاضره برای یه رایحه سبز و ترش سیتروسی گلی و صابونی که از کمترین پیچیدگی و ساختار شکنی برخورداره چنین بهایی رو پرداخت کنه به خصوص وقتی مشابهش رو به کرات در برند هایی مثل ایسی میاکی و هرمس دیدیم و با قیمتی بسیار پایین تر در دسترس هستند. 6/10

Zesty tart citrus bomb. Very refreshing. Reminds me of something like Hermes Eau Givree, but does not go as sour—good longevity, moderate performance, and sillage. The price for 100ml on discounters is around $160; for that price, this is a good deal. Retail would be overpriced. I'll get a 10ml from the brand and do further testing during the summer when this will shine. Overall, not a must-have, but it would be a great addition for a hyper-fresh summer citrus that lasts longer than other smells-a-likes. Yes, it's fairly linear, but the fragrances in this genre arent taking you through 7 transitions. Think of Dior Homme Cologne, Hermes Eau Givree, or anything ADP. This is BTV's version of a cologne-type scent.

This is a not unpleasant scent, but is heavy on the grapefruit with a bit of herbal. It smells like the nose was trying to create an "upbeat" fragrance. Smells like a scent someone would pump through a gym or put in a body wash. Or maybe it's something for an aromaherapy energizer session. Like many British perfume houses, Boadicea has come up with something more like a home fragrance or aromatherapy, not something to wear on one's body, just my opinion.

An explosion of citruses (the whole range) lead by a prominent, kinda aromatic, grapefruit note. Bitter green hints trhoghout appearing on a clean musky/vetiver base. Definitely an unisex summer scent that while it's not particularly outstanding (Hermes Eau D'Orange Verte is a much cheaper alternative), it's well crafted and refined. Good lasting power. Rating: 6.5/10

Incredibly refresing fragrance. For me this is the best most natural graprfruit / citrus fragrance that i have come across. It actually smells exactly like a Hartwall Original Long Drink (Gin & Grapefruit)! :-D
