Lavish

I have a tiny collection of vetiver oils and they smell earthy, sweet, moist and grassy occasionally you catch a whiff of smoke. I also tried nearly 80 year old vetiver oil stored in a camel leather container and it didn't smell much different except being rounder and smoother. During a recent fragheads meet I saw some people frantically searching for a bottle of Lavish. They were prepared to buy used flacons of Lavish also as they were apprehensive that Boadiceamight stop making this or raise the price. And that piqued my interest in Lavish. Bottles are seemingly sold out but samples are still available at Boadicea and Beverly Hills perfumery. Lavish opens with very high quality vetiver, amber and mild citrus fruits join almost at once. It has extremely high quality oils blended to perfection. On first spritz it left an oily sheen on my wrist (in a good way) I got a Golden Aries vibe with high quality vetiver for a second. On skin Lavish shines with full glory, whereas on fabric it loses a bit of its charm. Vetiver with a bit of amber remains active through out. The top notes of Lavish are with fruity notes and mid woodsy notes appear little later. If you like vetiver based scents then I think your search for the best vetiver scent should end here as this is mind blowing. Top quality ingredients and superb craftsmanship elevate Lavish easily to the higher end Chinese zodiac series perfumes of Boadicea.

This fragrance offers a delightful blend of citrus and Oriental Chypre elements. It begins with bright top notes of lemon and bergamot, transitioning into a heart centered around orange, complemented by hints of rose and a touch of nutmeg. The base is a soft mix of amber and vetiver, with subtle undertones of sandalwood and cedar. The scent has a masculine vibe due to its mineral and metallic aspect and its sillage is moderate with good staying power. While it may not break new ground, it is a beautifully crafted, natural perfume that provides a thoroughly enjoyable experience. A pleasure to wear! Almost a damn 10/10. Please don’t go powdery!. I had a sample and have worn my bottle several times and I haven’t experienced it yet but its happened in the past where I pick up on a powdery vibe later on..... imagine Tom ford grey Vetiver but elevated in every way and has the staying power to last all day. I waited to purchase and got this at a huge discount. The retail pricing is always insane for BTV but when you can grab their scents at a discount it’s almost always worth it. Edit: not as powdery as most Vetiver scents turn. Good stuff. 8.5/10.

For the first 45 mins, this is Roja Dove Vetiver Parfum Pour Homme. Same Vetiver also in Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver EDP. They're all starting to get too familiar. All in different lanes though, but headed in same direction. To a vetiver head like me, the more the merrier, but my advice is you don't need all three. But I forgot to tell you that for now, I prefer Lavish...that name is just perfect 👌😜 Edit: Ok I was wrong; Lavish destroys the rest by a lot. It's so much better, and the longevity is superb. A perfect 10/10 fragrance.

This is perhaps the best vetiver based fragrance that I have sniffed to date. Incredibly beautiful and done to perfection. I own a few great vetivers (Vetiver Pour Homme, Sultan Vetiver, Grey Vetiver, Sycomore) all of which are exceptional fragrances. Well, Lavish is even better! The only downside is availability (I can't seem to find a bottle anywhere). If, eventually, I do manage to source a full bottle, Lavish would likely jump to the top of my favourite summer fragrance list. 10/10

I’ve tried many vetiver fragrances and this is undoubtedly my favorite. Vetiver guerlain, terre d Hermes, original vetiver creed. Grey vetiver edp comes close to lavish. They are very similar. The difference is lavish comes across more sparkly and citrusy. It has this clean quality that reminds me of the smell of a thunderstorm and a bit of a Citrus soda. It drys down with a pleasant masculine woody smell. Performance is average longevity is average 9.5/10

This is pretty good! It's like their take on Grey Vetiver, but different. Maybe not quite as citrusy. Has some other type of element to it that's not in Grey Vetiver. More ROOTY compared to GV, but not a heavy rooty vetiver frag. Also, cool bottle - it's made with metal and hefty. Atomizer is okay.

This is a true vetiver fragrance, not just a scent that happens to include vetiver. The vetiver here isn’t overly earthy, rooty, or challenging. Lavish falls comfortably in the same realm as Grey Vetiver & Roja Vetiver Parfum Cologne.

Gentlemen’s fresh Vetiver scent. This is probably the best Vetiver scent. Airy, smooth, citrusy, fresh, clean and not overpowering. Signature worthy for summers and unlikely to offend anyone. Shukran Habibi!

A lovely citrus laden Oriental Chypre composition. The scent opens with notes of fresh lemon and bergamot. It moves to a heart of mostly orange surrounded by rose and slight nutmeg. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of amber and vetiver with sandalwood and cedar in the background. The slight masculine leaning fragrance has moderate projection and very good longevity. Not exceptional or novel but very well done natural perfume which makes for a pleasant wearing experience. Enjoy!

Not impressed. Reminds me of a creation I made with some slightly rancid essential oils once. The nutmeg becomes burnt rubber on the dry down.

I declare myself a lover of the vetiver note and as such I can only feel more than pleased to have found this fragrance which, from my point of view, takes this note to its highest level in a wearable, refined perfume. It's the perfume of a successful yet cordial executive... given that it has a fresh combination of luminous citrus fruits that accompany you throughout the long day... more than 10 hours, alive, present, projecting. Undoubtedly in the vein of Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver, but far superior. While it's pricey, like everything from this brand... my advice if you want to save money is to avoid buying anything else in this note except for Amoroud's Lunar Vetiver, another gem, and Boadicea's Vetiver Imperial. All of them can be found in discount stores for half the price, and from my point of view, you'll have the best available today in terms of scent quality, longevity, and projection

This is one of those fragrances that instantly carries me back to my grandparents’ house by the beach, nestled among trees bursting with fresh green leaves that give the whole place a serene, forest-like atmosphere. In their sandy garden, vibrant carnations bloom in the coastal soil, adding a soft floral touch to the salty air. Together, it creates a beautiful, green, slightly vetiver-like aroma that feels both refreshing and deeply nostalgic. While I may never invest in a full bottle because of the price, I’ll always make sure to keep a sample in my collection—it’s simply too special to let go of.

First let me say that the sample box for Boadicea is SO high end. I am super impressed. This fragrance is a standout for me as I have had a challenging relationship with BtV. This was a very beautiful blend of fresh lemon and bergamot. Then to rose, nutmeg and finally settles into a powdery woods. It has nice projection and lasted about 8 hours. This is a stroll through the old section of a classic European city in summer. There are citrus trees bursting with fruits, beautiful blooming flowers, and cobblestone streets with heady hits of amber and wood.

So, I was in Harvey Nicks feeling flush, so and thought I would give this a little spray. Damn, it's good. I thought I would sleep on it and go about my business, walked out the shop, then walked straight back in and bought a bottle taking advantage of 15% off promotion. Then saw some reviews saying this was the same as TF Grey Vetiver. Damn, did I pull the trigger to soon? He'll no, went to John Lewis to do the smell test and Lavish is different class. Brighter, fresher, longer lasting. I'm happy

Opens nutmeg bit creamy citruses, impressive, vanishes those and goes straight to the vetiver. Earthy, masculine pendulum swing, hits amazing vetiver peculiar, quality, accord and it's not the nutmeg neither. Didn't run into this type yet, not in the Clives, the Perfumer M, the PDMs, the Rojas and not even in Vetiver Imperiale, so it's fifth type vetiver for me. Don’t enjoy the bottle, matte light gray in perfume bottles is kinda off, out of place amongst the spectacular Boadicea bottles.

Beverlyhillsperfumery.com currently has this and many other BtVs. They also offer 1 and 2 ml samples! Just ordered Nebulous, Valiant, Legend and several other samples (happy face!)

Just get TF's original version and call it a day. If you have it already, save yourself the money please.

Very similar to bois imperial in the dry down, the opening is very citrusy
