Oud Sapphire

I wanted to allow myself to have several proper wearings with this gem before I gave my honest review. Upon first spray there's almost a medicinal oud note? Something I have smelled before in other oud fragrances. I wasn't quite sure how I felt about it but it was so short lived. and than the magic happens... Allow this fragrance to open up and bloom off your skin. It is freakin INCREDIBLE. The smoothest combination of notes float in the air. So buttery and supple. The Oud/iris/osmanthus combo is next level. Of course BTV signature saffron can be found in the opening as well. The sandalwood and styrax in the base lend a hand to the orris by giving it the most buttery, soft powder, balsamic woodiness. It's truly breath taking to me. This isn't just a fragrance it is an experience. I can tell by the reactions of people around me because they have never smelled something like this before. Performance is not an issue. 12 hours later and this is still radiating off my chest and it's making me so happy smelling it. Also, I recommend within the first hour of applying don't smell super close and judge it because its so powerful. For the first couple hours its magical in the air and then it becomes the same even up close. This right here is making it's way to be one of my favorites ever. Enjoy :)

I was initially ready to sell my bottle, but decided to give it one more try, and I’m glad I did. This really speaks to the importance of letting a fragrance rest, especially when it has a complex composition. I believe my bottle experienced some shock during transit from LA to NYC, because my first impression was honestly terrible. I couldn’t imagine how it could improve with time. I was wrong. I went from absolutely hating it—wondering how anyone, let alone a woman, could pull this off, to appreciating its depth and beauty. Once it settles, this becomes a cozy, enveloping fragrance with a great deal of complexity. It is unisex, but definitely one of presence, on the right woman, one who is confident and intentional — it transforms into a true femme fatale CEO scent: commanding, powerful, and unapologetic. If you gravitate toward bold, assertive fragrances, you can wear this beautifully. This is best suited for fall and winter, evenings, and formal settings. It is not a spring, summer, or daytime fragrance. It is dark, resinous, and undeniably powerful. Overall well blended, with very high-quality ingredients. Hoping this is helpful, I have not found any reviews on this fragrance done by women, and very few on this fragrance in general.

This really is a beautiful scent. It opens with a fruity, medicinal oud, that quickly turns to a powdery oud. From this point on, the orris and oud take the lead as the osmanthus and leather add a fruity and leathery accord. In the dry down, the sandalwood adds a creamy texture. Like all BTV fragrances, the ingredients smell very natural and the scent leaves you wanting more.

This is a very high quality leather scent. Leather is like the one that's used for sofas but I may be wrong. Bvlgari Azaran comes to mind, it was similar, both are pure leather. After the initial leather there seems to be something else too and maybe that is saffron. Oud can be somewhere but it has the leather form then. One of the best leather scents!

It's complex enough to justify the title of luxury perfume but the full price is frankly ridiculous. It's very good.

If Batman had a scent, it would be this. It opens with saffron and black pepper, sitting on top of something that smells like a leather bookcase. The saffron brings a sweet warmth, while the black pepper gives it some edge. There’s also a soft floral touch in the background from the ambrette that stops it from being too sharp. As it settles, the pepper and florals fade a bit, and the leather really starts to come through. The oud follows shortly after—dry, smoky, and a bit mysterious, but not too funky or dirty. In the drydown, sandalwood adds a bit of brightness, and orris gives the base a smooth, creamy texture. It still stays true to the leather-oud character, but with a bit more depth. This isn’t for everyone. The leather is strong, bold, and borderline aggressive. It’s definitely not an everyday scent. It has a sense of daring, of risk and grandeur. To be honest, they should’ve called this Leather Sapphire. The oud is there, but the leather completely takes over. It’s a dry, leathery-oud scent with some floral and woody touches that round it out. Projection and longevity are huge, as you’d expect from the house.

Crikey. First spritz of Oud Sapphire is like, honestly, pungent Creosote. And this makes sense, because creosote is describe as "a byproduct of burning wood, smells smoky, tar-like, or even medicinal" But within 15 mins this densely packed opening starts to unravel and breathe, becoming something very pleasant indeed. There is a leather here that does have a medicinal or 'band aid' vibe (nowhere near as strong as Gucci Guilty Absolute), but the saffron, a subtle florality and orris really smooth and round the fragrance out to become something very wearable. Of the four sapphires in the gift set (this, Green, Blue and Aqua) Oud Sapphire is quickly becoming my favourite. And I didn't expect that at all.

Heavy duty animalic woody aromatic centered around a Laotian Oud note. The perfume has a brief opening of ambrette, saffron and pepper before launching full blown into a skanky oud and leather heart, tempered by slight osmanthus. The perfume settles on a base of styrax, synthetic musk, orris and slight sandalwood. The masculine leaning scent has strong projection and good longevity. Strictly for oud and animalic lovers only, others are likely to be repulsed. The perfume however does soften over time to a powdery wood on skin. Enjoy!

Septiembre 7, 2023: I have been wearing this fragrance for 3 days now and first day I was not impress by it but now I’m falling in love. Allow me to describe to the best of my abilities: Top : Oud ( almost leaning medicinal ) maybe not real Oud tho. Heart: orris ( beautiful) Base: ( complement get it lol ) SMOOTH: with a blend of woodsy , orris, sandalwood and maybe just maybe a flower not listed yet. Now let’s get real: is a most have ? NO ITS NOT. It’s not a wow fragrance and definitely super pricey. It’s a good fragrance, I would say a VERY GOOD fragrance for a collector who wants this before is reformulated years down the road. Similar fragrance: Christian Provenzano has one with similar vibes in his own brand/ collection even stronger. I’m glad I have it but this was the one I now close my BTV collection with.

Massive opening, solid almost beastmode refined and clarified, no unbalanced overpowering. Dark leather, dark iris, not an obscure scent to be specific, but heavy somber, pleasant and upscale. Again recognize the Boadicea clear superneat structuring, dupe or no dupe immaculate, masterful composition. Month in, second try, did the two miniature bottle puffs this time getting the added whiskey note, superb, replaces the iris and pushes forward with the clear wood. Not resins heavy, doesn't drift off, 6°C, 43°F afternoon stroll keeps it pretty much intact, surfacing a bitter woods dryness, no warmth. I mean, I'm pretty much in a transition phase understanding how them Sapphire line are full bottle worthy.

I initially hated this fragrance, I still do but I removed my rating. In order to appreciate this fragrance, YOU MUST LOVE OUD AND LEATHER. In the opening, you get a burst of Oud, followed by a moderate amount of leather. The Oud is not animalic, its more powdery and slightly medicinal. This scent is not for me, but even with my disdain with the fragrance I can tell the ingredients are top notch and this concoction was masterfully blended. So if you like Oud and Leather, what are you waiting for?

First wear and it’s a classy and elegant Iris forward fragrance for a gentleman. Natural smelling, buttery Iris that’s blended nicely with a non-funky oud. There is a hint of natural sweetness up top saffron / ambrette , but it’s not dominant. Projects really well and has nice longevity. All in all, quality juice. Just my first impressions, so I’ll update this review after wearing it a couple times.

I blind bought a bottle of Sapphire Oud last week, expecting it to suck. Imagine my surprise when I spritzed it on and realized that this is actually GOOD! I'm talking REALLY good. It is so WOODY!! This makes a great substitute for my bottle of Armaf Club de Nuit Intense, when I don't want to use up that precious liquid, I use this.

Good one, but it should be called Iris Sapphire or Leather Sapphire. It smells VERY close to Guerlain Cuir Intense. It's powdery, leathery and smoky, with an interesting sweetness from the saffron. I got a fruit note on top, like a berry or something similar. Definitely not an oud perfume. Good performance, but not special.

Oud sapphire is a very good fragrance smells fruity Oudy at the top reminds me of the raspberry lychee from The Moon FM and the Oud leather reminds me of Oud cadenza very nice high quality long lasting smell but £695 is a robbery I would pay £200 max

Smells like Oud Maracuja with a leather note instead of the oud note. Has a fruity quality like raspberry. No fruity note is listed so maybe it was unintentional. A bit redundant in my opinion.

Oud Saphire reminds me of brand new Michelin Tires. I’m not a fan of this fragrance.

All I can think of when I smell this is Olive juice.
