Vetiver Imperiale by FOUR

I'm so surprised there are no reviews for this beauty already. This is definitely In the same vane as terre d'hermes but way better. As you may have already known that boadicea get inspiration sometimes from popular fragrances and make them better, they use abundance of the best materials to recreate a really good fragrance to take it to an unthinkable level. Whether that's a good thing or not is discussion for another day. Back to four...it's a very green version of terre d'hermes and it's mind blowing to me since I already think terre is a masterpiece. Four smells a tad more natural, richer and greener. I smelled a little less iso e super but it's still there. The patchouli note came out in the drydown with cedar and vetiver to make it unique compared to terre which dried mostly to an earthy vetiver and iso e with traces of its signature rotten (bitter) orange left. The rotten orange note found in terre is quite subtle in here. This is clean, green, and fresh. Then the earthy vetiver and patchouli did wonders in the drydown. A 7hr affair and a decent projection, but for a pure parfum, that's a tad underwhelming, though I smell it on my clothes for days. To me this is better than terre but way more expensive. But the truth also for me is that, if terre was at the same price point, I would still own it. I will never be without both; unique enough for me.

Absolutely inspired by TDH but to me it's an interesting spicy addition to anyone with taste into that profile and want want variations of it. Better bet this will walk a parallel path with this very prominent spicy approach and not being citrus-forward like the pyramid may call it to be - the latter being very fleeting after the opening (honestly a very delicious succulent opening even). Signature slightly more mature fragrance. Both price tag and aroma invite that added professional/semi casual day/night aroma (not really one I cling to in the evening). Performs very well in terms of longevity >8h on skin with moderate projection for enough time. The positive thing about it is I can smell it on myself for quite sometime. Isola Blu, Perseus, Basso, TDH Parfum, and Eau Givree, which are probably the most prominent inspired by/flankers within the DNA are not super redundant to this. Of course there are similarities and in a small collection, a more obvious redundancy. However, with fragrances especially in the vein of Eau Givree/Basso/Perseus there are even more difference than the underlying tone of the base Vetiver, etc. Having Vetiver Imperiale may have exhausted my desire to own some of the other fragrances I've mentioned but if Roja grows on me I might get Isola Blu as well.

This is beautifull very close to Terre d'Hermes without bitter notes and with addition of neroli which plays huge part here. Performance is above avarage but for a fresh clean scent it's still really good however problem with this brand will always be is it really worth the retail price because most of their offerings are well composed with good ingridients and answer is no. I give this 7/10 but if this could be purchased in grey market for price similar to Creed offerings I would give this 10. Will I buy a bottle? Absolutely if I find a good deal on it.

Best Vetiver I've ever smelled. Very sexy on a man. I highly recommend this. Performance is long lasting and silage is strong. It smells like a classy businessman in a designer suit. Wow. I'm not sure I can pull this off as a woman but I'll be damned if I don't try!

This is a stunning scent of the highest quality. Yes, in the TDH category with some sparkling vetiver, agrumes and neroli notes.

This is simply one of the very best vetiver you can get. Amazing! Take the best TdH, Roja Vetiver, etc.

This does not smell like terre d hermes

I enjoyed this perfume, I thought it was very good indeed. Comparisons to TdH are a little simplistic to me... ahhh okay.... This is genuine now. So I wore this perfume yesterday and I'm writing this review retrospectively However, I also sprayed it on a card which I popped in the top pocket of a jacket I'm wearing today and just as I was about to say how wrong and naive and ignorant comparisons to the Hermes fragrance are I kept thinking....I can smell Terre d Hermes....I thought it was my mind conjuring it!!! But seeing as I don't believe that woo, I knew it had to be something real, sure enough it was the Boadicea card. (Facepalm) Okay so bearing all that in mind I never made a particular association when first sprayed, nor did I when wearing this yesterday other than it being a peppery, citrus vetiver. I do now somewhat, however this is more luxurious than Terre D'Hermes, it really is, to the point I stick to what I was originally saying and comparisons are quite redundant, The point I was making was that they are not totally irrelevant I guess. This is speaking as someone who has recreated many different tweaks on GCMS formulas of Terre and used it as a jumping off point for my own creations and let me tell you like many corners of perfumery which are iconic and breakthrough for a reason, many others will arrive (or intentionally reproduce) a similar journey to get to almost the same destination. But the 'Almost' can be quite a broad church even if you start getting esoteric and talking about 'vibrations' and 'emotions' and such. If I'd immediately smelled Terre I wouldn't be as on board with this perfume as I am. I got more bergamot, malaise of fruit, and eau de cologne, and a sort of generic but still very nice vetiver/cedar. The drydown and card remnant is much richer and rounder even still. A minor tweak of similar materials to TdH no doubt but as I mentioned that can make all the difference.

Classy high quality variation of Terre D’Hermes with high quality ingredients. The citrus aromatic scent opens with notes of citrus and neroli, moves to a peppery patchouli heart and settles on a C powdery woody ambery base highlighted by a very clean vetiver. The slight masculine leaning scent has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. Versatile and easy to wear it is definitely more expensive than it deserves to be. Enjoy!

Citrus, vetiver, and all the pepper they could throw in. Fresh, spicy, woody, green. I bought this as a souvenir during a visit at Harrods. Would I do it again? Maybe not, but it is a beautiful perfume. Different enough from the other vetivers I own. Well done.

I sampled VI with interest because TdH EDT is a masterpiece; so unique. To be fair, VI and TdH wear very differently. VI exhibits none of the characteristics - the balance and contrasts - that make TdH special. The tart grapefruit/dirty orange, lightly pepper-dusted, and the flint, benzoin and cedar/ISO-E dry down. While TdH has a vetiver backbone, I see VI as more of a 'vetiver forward' fragrance, aligned with the likes of TF Grey Vetiver (my fave, 'clean' vetiver in the high heat) and Roja's complex, earthy Vetiver PH Parfum (my go-to when the air is chilled). VI shows a gorgeous vetiver that to my nose sits between these two for earthiness. So this, funnily enough, means it does compete with TdH for transition season use. VI to me is all about that vetiver, the neroli and the pepper. The neroli lifts the fragrance for the first 3-4 hours without doing anything particularly special, and although the neroli lasts a good 6 hours I'm not convinced it makes great use of this vetiver. It annoyed me after a while. When the neroli exits, the pepper seems to kick on and kill the vetiver. VI lasts a good 8 hours on my skin, but lacks balance and intrigue and only the first 4-5 hours could I say I enjoyed. I don't want to sound too harsh, as everyone is different. However, VI to me is neither similar to, nor an improvement on, TdH, and (cost aside) a bit of a waste I'm afraid of what is a fine vetiver.

Somewheres between 😐 and 🙂, I'd lean toward the former based on price. An interesting blend of slightly chemical greenery and super synthetic woods that starts out sharp and flattens out into a refined blend. The finished product just doesnt shine. The issue, I think, is the ingredients. There's an earthy vetiver that's laced with a decent note of neroli. The two serpentine throughout the wearing like a caduceus. But it just never goes anywhere. It boils down to a note of fresh vetiver on patchouli that projects subtly, making for a refined but not atypical vetiver fragrance. Gets a touch balsamic as it wears. Doesn't have the standout charm of the TdH "counterpart," and cost like 6x more.

10 seconds after spraying this, i immediately smelled and realized this might be a Provenzano work, those which I sincerely hate, due to the use/abuse of superambers And checking here before writing this review, yes it is. Terre d'Hermes which this one takes inspiration from (according to votes) is a masterpiece. Leave the masterpieces alone, enjoy them as they are.

Overall a good fresh fragrance, the vetiver on this one is on the earthy, juicy side... It kind of reminds me of olives, which ends up not being my thing... But I do appreciate the way the fragrance is made though, also because it is long lasting for a freshie (about 8 hrs, good projection too.). Personally I give this one a 6.5 rating.

It's nearly identical to TdH EDT. VI seems a bit denser/more concentrated. Nearly impossible to tell which is VI and which is TdH, unless you smell them from very close when freshly applied.

High quality ingredients, oily juice, dense, solid. All the bells and whistles. To me, an all purpose, especially amongst Boadiceas it's absolutely a casual wear as well. The citruses opening doesn't fade away, the Amber, Cedar, Peppers and Vetiver remain solid, scent doesn't switch lanes and not heavy on Patchouli at all, getting that just a little bit in the drydown. The Vetiver note is supposed to be an older man's scent, I can see how, but not at all in this case, actually it's quite the opposite. Lively, fresh in a green natural way and an uplifter. People transition to niche when they try out Vetiver Imperiale and the Perfumer H Vetiver. Because vetiver being a profound base note by default, the craft is to masterfully tame the note, therefore when done so impeccably, one will experience real niche upon try out.

Has some brightness from the citrus and neroli in the opening that was really promising. That burned off in about an hour or so. I’m left with TDH, or a nicer version of it. Like other Vetiver scents the Vetiver turns a little dusty and powdery on my skin. That’s what I was afraid of and is why I don’t get along with Vetiver in most scents. It does remove the dirty earthy vibes from TDH edt if that’s a plus for you. Overall, if you’re a Vetiver fan this is one to sample and can be had for a good price for a BTV fragrance. It’s not my jam but I do respect it. Performance is great and lasts all day on skin and clothes with moderate sillage and projection.

Sharp, slightly bitter citrus, pink/black pepper, neroli, patchouli, amber combo in the opening. Pretty much 85% similar to TdH. The vetiver is nearly nonexistent in the opening and starts to reveal itself as this dries This is not too far from the quality of Terre D'hermes. I'd rather reach for other vetiver fragrances

Got skin scented in the 31C 88F sunny stroll, was expected, next time for sure do eight full puffs for the sunny outdoors. Most amazing ripe matured around six years in, eternal and timeless take on the dna, stays one of the great Vetivers out there. Would love more releases or versions like they did the Complex 2020?

What a beautiful scent of Citrus fruits sprinkled with black pepper!! Vetiver brings the earth and the grass to it. A stunning and an extremely well made scent, it's similar to Tdh in many ways and different too. Edit This certainly smells far better than TDH edt. This is a much richer sophisticated cousin of Tdh
