This perfume is a masterwork. Wear it and like any artistic work let it speak to you first. This perfume opens with high quality Indian oud, sandalwood, citrus fruits, rose and sort of beautiful yet a bit wilted jasmine with saffron though oud doesn't figure on the notes here or on the website. The initial two hours are intoxicating as the rose dazzles. This turns woodsy slowly as rose slowly gives way to oud and vetiver and it remains very pleasantly wearable throughout. By Boadicea standards this is reasonably priced yet extremity luxurious like some of the very expensive fragrances they sell. This perfume is the big brother of Nemer. Overall a brilliant, opulent scent and perfectly it captures the essence of the Gulf. Sample it.

Opens with a slightly dirty, animalic, and woody oud and a pleasant rose being the dominant notes, but you can smell the orange, bergamot, saffron, black pepper, violet, patchouli, moss, amber I have to admit this is pleasant and a good place to start with the house if you want a rose/oud fragrance. The oud here is just wearable enough for someone that does not like very animalic/barnyard ouds like me.

I see the oud connection. On the Boadicea website it shows that Cypriol is also a note in this fragrance. A basic Oud accord from mainstream fragrances is typically Cypriol, Black Pepper, and Ambrocenide. So the saffron being spicy mixed with the cypriol and whatever the ambiguous amber note is I can see how it would give that effect.
