Bobbi's Party

Where to begin? Bobbi's party is so simple in it's notes (3), but comes across as beautifully complex. Upon first spraying, I get a sweet floral mix. The notes listed are rose petals and crushed violet leaves. I am sure I am detecting a creamy, non pungent lily perhaps? It could just be the velvety mixture of the other florals which are perfectly simplistic. The Sandalwood is soft but enveloping. It is a bit powdery, but this is a lovely, soft, light powder aura that floats and whirls around the other notes, instead of flat lining the fragrance as so many powders do. This perfume IMHO is best worn with a classic cocktail dress for a cocktail party OR a pair of ripped and shredded, destructed jeans and white tee for a lazy weekend retreat spent at the cabin or beach. Yes, it's simple...simply perfect for so many occasions. I can see it becoming an all occasion go to! I did not know what to expect with this one? I do know...I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I do. Sillage is good and longevity was a bit better than average. All and all, quite an unexpected find that I am very pleased with.

I have this. I seem to always buy another bottle when I am out. This is a perfume that I usually take with me when I go out of town. It is a little adventure in a bottle. The ingredients could be a lot of things and I agree with the person who mentioned aldehydes. It has a twist when you first spray it. Unlike anything else I own. It is only in the dry down where I detect the rose and sandalwood although the sandalwood is not a big rich overblown one. I took this with me to Las Vegas once and it really shined in the desert climate.

I'm going to call this Party, because I hate the name, Bobbi's Party. Party is a new take on an old rose. To me it comes off as real and natural, with a backdrop of sandalwood. I was very skeptical about trying this blind swap, but I've been searching for an interesting rose; I got my wish. This rose/sandalwood blend has outstanding longevity with a smoldering sensuality. It could be for a party of 2 or as a standout from all the mall 'fumes at a party of 200. On a late fall day this juice warms me deliciously.

Violets and roses! These are two of my favorite things! I don't get sandalwood at all. This is powdery on me, and a bit vintage...I'm only 2 hours in on the original spray, but so far, I'm surrounded by a very appealing fragrance. I'm wishing it had another, more appropriate title - Bobbi's Party is just too cutesy for something as elegant as this!

This smells great and it's quite different and unusual. I'm uncertain as to what notes specifically project, but it is a spicy and warm scent. Longevity and sillage are outstanding without being overbearing. I get a fair share of compliments when I wear this, usually from men.

I found it to be a very clean, minimalistic scent...slightly soapy, and for some reason my nose picked up aldehydes. Maybe my nose is confused! I honestly could not detect any sandalwood whatsoever. Instead, I thought I was smelling a touch of musk. Again, this fragrance might be confusing my nose! I really liked this scent, and I would love to smell a trail of it coming off someone else, but I wasn't entirely sure whether it belonged on my own wrist. It also reminded me of the reformulated version of Chantilly (Dana), at least on MY skin. Although, this one is much better quality, of course, and for me, much more enjoyable! I think it's very well done, and it would be easy to buy this as a gift for someone without knowing their exact preferences. I think it would have universal appeal. Even though I am undecided about whether I can relate to the scent personally, I could easily wear it, especially in hot weather.

This is a really strange and lovely new creation. It's far from the usual syrupy crap and the 'fresh' room spray stuff, it's clean, soapy and spicy. It's ordinary at first, a bit like a bath product, but its drydown is unique and modern whilst retaining the flair of vintage fragrances such as anais anais. Nice.

I like it.Soft, powdery,classic and unusual. It can be used in the morning after the shower,at work or at night. I smell more violets than roses and the sandalwood gives it some warmth. Nothing to do with modern fruity florals and at the same time modern.

Where do we get ozonic and aquatic among these notes? The opening is a lovely woody spice layered on violet. It is different. Don’t know if it’s “me” yet but not regretting the purchase.

It was promising until the drydown. I loved the floral aspect, and could detect the sandalwood. I was hopeful. The drydown is cloying and screams artificial. I need to scrub.this.off.now.

I got a sample from the BB counter and used a cotton ball to dab it on pulse points and even on my shirt. I feel like what I smelled is vastly different from what others have described. Initially, it was a spicy fragrance and I got some hints of gardenia. It then transformed and took on a tobacco/smoke smell on my skin. Very unpleasant - reminded me too much of cigarette smoke. However, I didn't wash it off and after some more time I started to notice a really lovely soapy smell. Seriously, so good that I ignored my feelings about the tobacco layer and bought it online. It smells terrific on clothing and I don't get that smoke smell like I do on my skin. I love how this transforms and changes to expose the layers. I do sense the sandalwood a little bit after wearing it for awhile, but I still don't detect the rose or violet.

This was a blind buy suggested thru a perfume quiz on Macys.com. I loved BB Beach, the notes in this one are some of my favorites. First spritz was ????, then things settled down. Did pick up the aldehydes as suggested by another review...unless that is the ozonic scent. Don't get much sandalwood. Do get the spicy soapy smell - so NOT Old Spice. Will see what pops up in warmer weather. Here in the Midwest all we have is cold and snow this winter. This will be great for work. I work with seniors, bet someone mentions the vintage flair of this one. And I am glad it is not one of those candy/vanilla/gourmand scents so all over the place now. I can take the clean/spicy scents. Nice compliment to my ever expanding perfume tray.

I can't decide what it is, iris or violets. Certainly nothing like the notes mentioned here, "woody, powdery" etc. Visually I get an image of a large red poppy when I smell it. Certainly synthetic like many people mentioned but still not bad. Different from your regular contemporary frags, no fruit or freshy-citrusy. Also don't see what's so "party" about it but it is sweet and happy scent, lasts through the day. I got it in a swap a while ago, in the summer. Today put it on for the 2nd time, late October. I think it's equally good in the summer and in the fall. Reminds me of some colognes of my childhood, strong and linear.

Wish I could rename this fragrance to "Margie's Party". My wonderful, delightfully witty mom wore Je Reviens as her favorite daytime scent. Bobbie's Party makes me wistfully feel as if she's just danced into the room. Sigh. I miss her so much. Party is a very pretty and uplifting fragrance. I don't get a lot of individual notes jumping out at me... rather it all flows nicely together, and the rose is not a sour one, but somewhat spicy. I've really enjoyed testing this fragrance, and I will keep it to wear whenever I need a soft hug from Mom. Nice longevity. Not at all what you might think it would be.

The notes sounded perfect for me; just what I was looking for! I tested the fragrance and found that after a few moments it smelled (to me) like the garage where you go to get your tires rotated or changed. Very much of rubber, oil, coffee brewing, and mens colone. This is exactly the same reaction I got when I sampled Dzing. So, if you like Dzing, this is a cheaper almost identical version.

I got a sample of this at Nordstrom and I really like it. It seems to have a vintage flair to it, but also a modern smell at the same time. I like it better than some of the others by BB. I am going to purchase it during the holidays.

I liked this. I thought it had a vintage flair as well and while i spent a few hours smelling my wrist, i remembered: je reviens by worth.. Exactly the same...
