One of the weirdest fragances i hace tried...but i think i like It!! 🤸😂 At the opening the sugar cotton is very perceptible.to the dry down It goes yo the background giving to the fragance a subtle sweet vibe during all his Life. I can get the seeweed, the benzoin giving a balsámic character ti the fragances, the rose and the melón... But the mix of all this ingredientes i dont know what smells like. The performance is incredible... Douleur is a beast with all the vocals and consonantes...i think i Will finally buy It in the futuro! It amazes me when people don’t know a scent is “supposed” to be odd, experimental, or even gross, how much more objective they are. For example, my friend knew nothing about Secretions MAGNIFIQUES, and loved it. Doleur is an ozonic, sweet, alkaline, fresh yet deep, treat. I’ve gotten multiple compliments on it. Smells like eating melon on a beach with negative ions and seaweed being churned up by the fresh surf, a sweet rose bush on the breeze.

Like all Gardoni perfumes it has a high concentration, but it is not a perfume in the classic sense like the others, plus a smell and like the others, it is a bit strange. Strange doesn't always mean better or good.

WOW Douleur is glorious. The mix of sweet, aquatic, and metallic is a trifecta like I have never smelled before. It reminds me of a twisted, bloody clown who entices you with candy. I absolutely love it! Great work.

It's one thing to take discordant notes and just sort of shove them together, and entirely another to take incompatible notes and reconfigure them into a totally new olfactory experience. Douleur! is the perfect example of the latter. The hot metal heightens and accentuates the spun-sugar rose accord. An almost plastic calone-heavy note comes in to provide a synthetic softness that attenuates the affront of the opening. A demure but somehow heavy salty-iodine gauze wraps everything together, itself lightened by the mentholated herbaceousness of the muted mint appearing at the far edge of the composition. Does any of that make sense? Does it obey the logic of olfactory creation that governs the vast expanse of contemporary perfumery? Not in the least. Douleur! is an assault on the nose and sinuses. But it's a calculated one, full of careful contrasts and a surprisingly gentle ebb and flow of postmodern accords. It is irony in a bottle, a meticulously constructed criticism of convention and sensuality as they are filtered through the lens of commercial scent. Douleur! represents the phenomenology of sweet pain, of affection, connection, and confection mediated through the chemistry of seduction in the age of misinformation. This is very wearable, unlike other recent forays into experimental fragrance, such as Sécrétions Magnifiques. The key is to spray lightly and according to occasion. Not at all a solitary perfume; alone, this is headache-inducing. No, Douleur! is a refined sugar best shared with others, imminently sensual precisely because of its status as simultaneously relatable and unabashedly artificial. Another stroke of genius by Antonio Gardoni. Grazie.

Wearing Douleur i dont find anything repulsive. Since my family does a lot of cooking and jarring, i can confidently say that this smells like a sweet compote made of plums, with a hint of cloves. It is light smell but very dense at the same time. No one told me anything bad about it, no fish smell, or dirty teenagers. I can see line about fake strawberry-watermelon, but it only comes from difference in experience of smells. So there it is. Nice, polite, easy to wear, long lasting Douleur.

Props to gardoni for throwing seemingly discordant notes into a pot and this is what it came out ... this is one of those creations that may offend you with the metallic melon opening but the dry down is a lab-synthesized rose-infused creamy cotton candy - you may despise it but you still want to take a bite. Wear it to be intrigued.

Douleur from Bogue Profumo. A collaborative work between Antonio Gardoni and tattoo artist Freddie Albrighton. A quirky and avant-garde perfume that doesn't smell challenging or experimental to me, as some have claimed. When I focus on it (gently because it is nuclear) I can detect some of the peculiar accords like the raw meat, plastic toys, and the salty seaweed accord. But if I spray it and go about my day, it smells surprisingly pleasant. It reminds me of the scent of Plum Preserves, the way they are traditionally made here in Eastern Europe. Exactly like that. If I close my eyes and enjoy its aroma in the air. Furthermore, to reinforce that scent association, my mom made the same comment when she smelled it, even adding that it smelled nice. Hence, the perception of perfume is most certainly subjective. Close-up, on the skin, however, I can pick up the quirky parts of it. Space Rangers and Barbie dolls, metallic roses, mint-flavored bubble gum, and sweet fruitiness. Raw meat at times served in blood. Overall though, not a challenging scent for me, it's rather pleasant. Now, the Achilles' heel with this perfume is the ridiculous performance. Simply put, I can't bring myself to wear it. Occasionally, I take off the cap, smell it, and tell myself "Not today!". It gives me a headache unless I spray it underneath my clothes, and if I do, I can incinerate them. Hence, as much as I love the smell, there is not much point to it unless I can enjoy it. Original, yet unwearable for me. But if you like them bigger than life, you might not have this problem. - Bogue went super-duper postmodern! Good-smelling? 3/10 Interesting? 6-8/10 Main notes: spun-sugar, melon, hot metal. In short: The most unnatural melon tone, hand in hand with slightly caramelized spun-sugar cotton-candy, edged with incandescent hot metal. In details: The typical "fresh-aquatic" opening feels more artificial than a starlet's face, mixed with an even more artificial melon tone —— I don't know how he manages to squeeze in this much plastic in one bottle. Neither of these notes can suppress a slightly caramelized honeyed sweet tone. In fact, "spun-sugar cotton-candy" really is the best description of this scent. Weirdly, a sour-faced green black-currant-y tone, I call it "prickly prick", is wrapped inside the cloud-like cotton-candy, ready to prick out at any time. (A little sidetrack, something in the base leaked out for a few seconds: one is a slightly salty dough scent, another the signature Bogue animalistic hint.) Now the third leading role: a hot metal scent. You know, the scent from a heated lamp filament of a high-watt lighting bulb. It sounds so unpleasant (and smelled so), but when put side by side with the slightly charred edge of spun-sugar, you know they're a natural pair. I guess Antonio here is trying to replicate the scent of a hot cotton-candy machine. So, artificial melon, spun-sugar, and roasted metal, they've partied all night on skin. Does this nightmare combo get less nauseating drying down? Nope. Not at all. Few More Words Probably tired of being called "retro", Antonio, painstakingly, made something utterly artificial. Good news: against all odds, this time the notes pyramid is an honest description of the scent, no matter how gimmicky it looks. Bad news: yep, as you can imagine from the notes and the name, this perfume is an assault to the nose, a punch to the stomach, a pain in the **. If it weren't for Antonio's good track record, I'd put this perfume straight into the "gimmicky" category. Even given the benefit of doubt, I can only say this is Antonio being himself, not giving a flying f* about the box office reaction.

I was reading some reviews and I approached Douleur with fear. I have forgotten what I've read about it, just remembering that it is challenging. At first there was a wave of sweetness and I thought ok, it's very sweet but nothing bad or challenging; that lasted the first 5 seconds until I started to get a salty fishy note. Diving in more with my nose into the skin, I'm not sure if I get a plastic or a metallic note, or maybe both. Now I think that the fishy smell might just be metallic and some plastic rose appeared; it's all very confusing, very sweet and very synthetic smelling and nuclear. I have a desire to go wash it off (which happens very rarely) but I'd like to see what happens next, because it's the first and last time I'll wear it. After the first hour, the metallic note is so pungent that it makes my nose hurt and I can almost feel the overly sweet metallic taste in my through. At this point I think I'm getting a headache and nausea...which almost never happens because a perfume. And I'm off to wash my hand. Of course the smell is there, but at least most of the metallic is gone and it's a sweet cloud of fuzzy rose, still very bad. If this is art, I'm ok with me not being able to appreciate it. I think it's just a synthetic mess which smells bad. I can appreciate a good well done perfume even if it's not my taste, but this one...horror. Maybe this is the smell of zombies from The Walking Dead. I usually don't like mainstream generic perfume, but in this case I'd rather smell some Bleu de Chanel right now to calm myself. 1/10

Hilariously terrifying. Super sweet and synthetic, but violently strong and metallic at the same time. I smelled this blind not knowing anything about it and had such an immediate reaction I scribbled this down, verbatim: "NO! Bonkers sweet/plastic/gunpowder. SCARY GONK ! ! ! *". (*I don't know if this word is international but in the UK it's used for those fluffy neon-haired rubber comic figures you get to stick on the end of pencils - like toy trolls). That about sums it up. Outrageously artificial and cutesy, but sort of punk as well. An anime Lolita with snarling sharpened teeth and carrying a crowbar, maybe. Clearly not for me but if your aesthetic goes for this picture then try it if you dare. As it's literally called PAIN and made in collaboration with a tattooist I should probably have expected the experience to hurt. Indeed it did. But it made me laugh at the same time. ETA: Utterly relentless performance, too - I left a paper test strip with this on in my handbag and threw it away a few hours later. FOUR DAYS later the bag is still absolutely reeking of punchy rose oxide - giving away its Gardoni kinship with T Rex, though in an utterly different style, ETA update: SIX days later and still the bag remembers Douleur

ok, this one has gone wrong, i love this house! they have one of the most beautiful fragrances especially Mem, but this one is not beautiful. It opens up soo juicy , so youthfull, so crazy and nice! love the top notes, although its burning your nose budds lol, but then it turns into acidic salty terrible vibe that smells like strong decalcifiying thing for the bathroom! unfortunately its not nice and well balanced, its not nice, its a mess. after 3 hours it becomes bearable, to me it is interesting, becasue i know Bogue has refined aesthetic but what did they want to convey with this one is a huge question mark over my head. :) i so much wish to know the answer to. if this is a charicature of sweet simple mainstream fragrances then its a spot on :) but i just think not even people who wear such things could wear this one.

I almost always try to find something positive to say about a fragrance, but all I can offer is that this fragrance has unbelievable longevity and sillage. Regrettably, this is not a compliment. I sure wish I was smelling what others apparently do. On me, Douleur! smells uncannily of a Strawberry Shortcake Doll - plasticky, sticky sweet, fake strawberry-melon - stuffed inside a tin can and then left out all day to stew in the sweltering summer heat. Rarely have I been truly nauseated by a perfume, but this one did me in. Unsurprisingly, it resisted multiple washes and Purell-ing :-( Douleur! indeed! The riskiest of risky blind buys. Glad (and yet not glad) I sampled it first.

You're drifting at sea, having breakfast on your sailboat, eating salted cantaloupe after brushing your teeth with peppermint toothpaste. Seagulls soon begin to flock around and circle you from above. They start making passes down to your deck, pitching rusty trinkets at you. You're bewildered--you can't tell if they're offering gifts or simply trying to distract you from your fruity meal. Either way, this morning doesn't taste quite right. Douleur! by Bogue Profumo.

Stinks of raw fish, this is how teenagers with poor hygiene smell like on a hot day. Definitely a huge no for me, so bad I had to throw away my sample

There's a trend happening in which perfumers are competing to make the most disgusting perfumes, and while I admire their attempts at a sort of conceptual artform, their products fail at being of any utility in the real world, and, as in this one's case at least, can even succeed in being subtly demoralizing without any benefit of something small gained or learned, except that cotton candy goes with seaweed in exactly the way a sane person would expect, as in horribly. A scent for sweet-toothed mermaids and/or bona fide skanks, and an example of the word "niche" being taken far too literally. Edit: It occurs to me in hindsight that if anyone plans on dressing up as Old Gregg for Halloween or cosplay, this right here is the perfect fragrance for the funky merman and his downstairs mix-up. Be warned, however, that by the end of the night this perfume might make you feel more like Curly Jefferson.

Uninspired metallic rose scent from Bogue. When it dries down it is almost identical to Amouage Opus X released 3 years earlier with the same heavy rose oxide. In addition to the rose and metallic note, there's hints of mint, melon, candy, seaweed and benzoin. The perfume is slight feminine leaning with moderate sillage and projection and good longevity. The first unoriginal scent from Antonio unfortunately, probably unintentionally so. Almost all synthetic, needs a certain mood and mindset to appreciate. Enjoy!

Oh honey do not get me started on my love for all things weird in perfumes! A figment of your imagination, a whisper across time. A lingering feeling that spills across your memory's and leaks to the present. A promise, a dare. Once here, now there. Out of reach, but right in front of you. Who are they, what are they? And why must you chase after them like a bloodhound? Are they good, or evil? Naughty, or nice? Malevolent, or benevolent? Whoever they may be you want to know - scratch that, you need to know! You chase this high, you run for the feeling. But they only move faster than you, and the more you follow them, the less you know about yourself. And the more you find out, the more you lose of your own personal identity. Finally you catch up, heart racing and palms sweating. You reach this mysterious foe. Catching your breath you pull back the curtain. But all you see is a mirror, staring right back at you. Besides my rambling, this perfume rocks! It smells wonderful, and you should check it out. It's very weird, so don't take this as an everyday office whatever perfume. Unless you're cool that is, then you rock it!

I’m deeply appreciative of the opportunity to experience a Douleur sample🥹 On my skin, the dominant notes are an unusual combination of various plastics and mint. This thing evokes the sensation of experiencing a vivid, almost hallucinatory dream, it feels like delirium. It triggers an eclectic montage of childhood memories, conjuring the smell of pantothenic acid (panthenol), the smell of those expandable plastic dinosaur toys, the rubbery scent of inflatable armbands, minty multivitamin tablets, and even the synthetic airiness of a bouncy castle’s interior. The result is deeply nostalgic, disorienting and unconventional, it feels almost surreal. The fragrance defies traditional coherence, all of these notes brought back weirdly specific memories creating a sense of both wonder and unease. Incredible! Standing ovation!👏🏻

#douleur #bogue First thing you notice from douleur is it's power due to high concentration. #Melon is the most prominent note to my nose which literally filled my room with this fragrance. It is sweet but not cloying which is great else would have been horrible. I also detect a faint mint in the opening. The #rose and #metallic note joins in after some time which remains throughout. As I said it filled my room so the projection is great with some awesome durability as well. I haven't smelled anything of that sort before which is good as I don't like to compare 2 different fragrances. PS: the post is based on my thoughts and understanding, if you think otherwise try to make your own post around it.

Wearing this today. Wow, people are dramatic about this one. I think if the notes were not listed out, people wouldn't be so put off. When I saw the notes I was worried about juxtaposing seaweed, metal and cotton candy, but the overall effect is like a sweetened smokey smell with a slight hint of salt. It does remind me of Deliria and also Womanity, not that it smells exactly like those, but its the same effect. Its wearable. Not that scary or bloody at all...One spray is all you need.

This has to be the oddest thing I've smelled. An eclectic project by Antonio Gardoni and Freddie Albrighton, two very interesting & amazing individuals. I think one would have to try it as no description would do it justice. The perfume is very experimental.. rose, melon, metallic, plastic from those old toys, cotton candy, resins... This isn't something i can pull off but definitely worth owning if you're a collector of avant garde perfumes. IG: eatandsmellgood

Unexpectedly compelling - too sweet for me to wear regularly, but the candy and sandalwood combine to remind me of musk stick lollies, with a bit of beachy metallic salt and sweat to make it less cutesy. I keep going back to smell it again - so evocative.

Has anyone tested Douleur against Deliria L'Artisan Parfumeur? Reading the reviews and checking the notes, they sound as if they may have quite a lot in common.

This one smells like low tide at a carnival. Prominent notes of metal, sweets, and also swamp smells. Oddly refreshing, sharp and salty.

would anyone in Europe be able to sell me a decal of this?
