Mango Yuzu Gasoline

This is my first time trying a Bohoboco and I'm surprised at how good this one is. I expected more of a novelty fragrance or something that would be more confusing to wear based on hot or cold weather situations (like Imaginary Authors' Cobra & Canary), but it's actually the opposite. For me, it's an easy-to-wear, highly unique fresh-leaning fragrance that can work year-round. I was waiting for the gasoline accord to overpower the fruit notes, but it never really does until the far drydown. It's very balanced and maintains a level of freshness on my skin through almost the entire wear. Instead of the usual musk/woods etc. that you'd find in the base of your average freshie, the gasoline/suede/leather act as the backbone to everything here. It's not harsh or dirty at all to my perception and everything is beautifully blended. As far as fruits goes, the mango is definitely what I pick up on most. It's actually bright, realistic and effervescent, countering the gasoline accord to make a really perfect yin and yang. I don't know how they did it, but it somehow just works. Also in the air, I get the citrus much more than the heavier facets. Only con to the fragrance for me is that the far drydown is kinda plastic-y, but I guess that's to be expected given the aromachemicals needed to make the gasoline accord. If you're like me who lives in an area where it's hot 10 months out the year and you want all the unique freshies you can find, this should definitely be on your radar. Just make sure you like mango, yuzu, and gasoline first. 😄 8.5/10

This was my introduction to the house of Bohoboco and what an intro it was. I have a moderate size collection of different styles of fragrances and this one has been one of the best smelling fragrance I experienced in a while. I can see that it would not be for everyone, you need to enjoy the fruity aspect of it. Yet, if you do enjoy fruity scents, the depth it has with the combination of freshness is amazing to experience. Can't say anything about the performance yet, although it shocked me that I was able to smell it after 18 hours as a skin scent. It does not project at that point obviously but I could still smell it, which makes it a nice sweet intimate fragrance after a couple hours.

This release is catching flak from some because those reviewing it are expecting something similar to a Lorenzo Pazzaglia tropical fruit bomb. Instead, they’re getting bodied by the gas note. THIS IS NOT A SWEET TOOTH FRUIT PUNCH. This is a tropical, more summer friendly approach to the Fahrenheit DNA. Once you recognize this fact and use it as such it makes a lot more sense. I purchased this earlier in the week in Florence and have been wearing it in the sun, and the experience is incredible. Citrus goes to tropical sweetness goes to petrol. What bohoboco has done here is just incredible.

Wow is that the nicest mango I've smelled or what. Crisp, juicy, slightly sweet but very fresh and not even slightly cloying. What a great fragrance, completely surprised me how nice it is, mango and the other fruits feel so natural and well done. Deep, complex with the suede/amber/gasoline backbone. Lovely scent, I think it's quite wearable actually. Great blend with mango (yes mango again) on top. Base notes blended really well, nothing sticks out. This is straight gas(oline), hehe.

Bohoboco strikes again and nails a big one. It smells like it says. Outrageous, outstanding, out of this world. Smells like drinking a fresh and zesty fruit smoothie while filling the tank at the gas station. And I. LOVE. IT. I always loved the smell of gasoline, since I was a child. I can't say why. I went to my favourite niche shop in town and tried it. Love at first sight. Instant buy. It's gonna be an adventurous summer.

A rare industrial tropical. Drawn in by the promise of yuzu and the Mad Libs-esque name, stayed for the leather festival. Opens with a beautiful, Rubenesque mango and sparks of citrus, before leather and gasoline cannonball in. Leans petrol party on fabric, fruit forward on skin. However, oiled black leather was the dominant note for me both ways – think being bear hugged by a benevolent gang of bikers that have just come from a Zara Larsson concert. It’s a Folsom Street circuit party, and they’re only serving cocktails with paper umbrellas. I best enjoyed this scent when I puffed two sprays on my shirt and let it fumigate my laundry room for a full day. Felt like the fragrance was wearing me otherwise. No hyperbole when I say it lasts for days. Mental Snapshot: This is the Citadel in Mad Max, only humid and jungled. Mad Max: Fury Road to Hana. Riding leathers, ripe fruit, hot greased metal. The Imperator is back from Gas Town and it’s going to be a revel for the ages. The war boys are wearing leis. Do not become addicted to aquatics. tl;dr: Mad Maxgo 🥭⛽️

For me, this is the scent of a young biker going for an evening ride on the beach front. At first you’re hit by that strong note of mango, rapidly transforming into a lingering trail of gasoline. For bystanders, it is as you just sped up and left them in a cloud of exhaust fumes but everyone’s okay with it because it’s summer and no one cares.

i have very mixed feelings about this one. it has a certain je nais se quois to it... makes me feel mysterious and sexy, but it's not an every day perfume for me. to me, the smell of overripe mango dominates this perfume and if i smell it for a long time i get ammonia from it (i cannot un-smell it now...)

I was unsure about this one. The opening was a juicy, tropical mango and before I knew it, I was hit with the leather/ gasoline. At first I thought it was manageable but then I started to find it so strong, it was nauseating. This scent stage lasted quite a while before it became a subtle mango/ fruity floral, very close to the skin. To me, the base notes and middle notes appear the wrong way around. They are swapped to my nose but i still don't catch many of the notes. I decided it was a no for me. As unique as it is, I knew I probably wouldn't reach for it. My son asked for it but he likes the smell of gas. I would rather smell it at the station than on me.

So mixed emotions. It is a niche masterpiece not for everyone. I would love to have it in my collection but just as an art of perfumery world. I can't wear it !oh no....It's soooooo juicy mango with mandarine and iris, soooo charming. But after the gasoline hits me and im done.NO.thank you, next.....

Honestly on blotter card it smells fine, I couldn’t believe it when I tried it because the gasoline never protruded. I was slightly mislead by that and sprayed it on my wrist and it was the first time I had to wash it off. Quite frankly, it was disgusting. So chemical, nothing real about the smells it had.

Opens with mango and fresh lemon the BOOOOM! The gasoline hits and overpowers everything, then comes the leather behind. This is like if Dior Fahrenheit has a fruity opening. For me, it’s unwearable. I can’t.

I love BOHOBOCO. I think overall all they produce unusually sophisticated and complex perfumes that are also very wearable. That is why I was so disappointed that this one, after the mango dries down, turns into an headache inducing acrid artificial amber. I'm assuming it's Ambroxan. Clearly not everyone experiences this, but if you're sensitive to those compounds consider this your warning.

The second sample that came with my purchase of Polish Potatoes, and it completely smashes the shit out of the one I tried before it (Plum Spray Paint). Mango Yuzu Gasoline is sweet, but the inclusion of turpentine-esque gasoline saves it from becoming a flighty fruity flopper. I know exactly how Bohoboco have achieved the gasoline scent, because it is a scent that I have created from scratch before, whilst on my own perfume making journey (Skin Spell Parfumerie - launching October 2026!) I won't give it all away, because I worked bloody hard to make a gasoline smell, but it involves dried cherry and leather. Back to Mango Yuzu Gasoline. It is very clever, like Steven Hawking's old chair that used to do the talking in that funny robot voice, just from him peeping at a prompt on a screen. The gasoline accord blends perfectly with the mango. If the mango was to be sweet, it would make it awful. It would make you think you had been kidnapped, plopped into a car boot, where you get a little whiff of mango car air freshener, whilst car fumes fill you with carbon monoxide. Oof. that was a strong description, even for me! A steady, solid mango oil has been used in Mango Yuzu Gasoline, which is almost meaty in tone, like a tropical version of a smashed avocado. The yuzu; I don't smell it. I suspect it is being used in a supportive role, to add some sharpness to the blend, but I know yuzu well, and I don't get it at all in this. That isn't a complaint though; it is still a bobby dazzler of a perfume. I won't buy a full size bottle however, as I don't think any other Bohoboco perfume will beat Polish Potatoes. There are only a few perfume companies where I buy more than one scent, but it has to be something pretty unique, something that has a great story, or something that I simply can't live without. Polish Potatoes falls into the first and third categories, but it lacks storytelling. Bohoboco makes very interesting scents, but their quest for fashionable minimalism lets them down a bit. Their look is one-dimensional and the "story" that they include with a full size bottle (boring black text on white card) reads like AI slop. If they took more risks with their aesthetics, instead of basically trying to copy the ultra-boring aesthetics of Byredo, they would have a much more interesting brand, which I would probably spend a lot of penny pounds on. 7/10. An imaginative scent profile that wears well, but it has no story or reason for being.

Is it good? Yes Is it worth the money? Probably not for most people Is it work collecting? Meh, maybe. If Ganymede, farenheit, and god of fire had a baby. What can I say, this stuff is awesome! I love it it’s expensive for what it is but it’s perfect. It’s everything you could ever want. At this price point I can’t recommend anyone blind buy this. But I do think it’s one of the more mass appealing fragrances from Bohoboco. I wouldn’t stretch it and call it safe but if you like any of the fragrances I mentioned above will likely love this. It’s super mango but not artificial mango or overly ripe it’s like perfect Alfonso mango. I do think this is more of a summer perfume I can’t really imagine smelling mangos in the cold. There’s a prevalent ozonic/mineralic quality in this more than gasoline. It’s not like straight up huffing gasoline but the essence of it. The mango does a really good job of staying along for most of the duration. The yuzu is really brief and only in the opening. Notes: if you’ve ever smelled Masa from Lataffa it’s kinda similair but less ozonic and blended to perfection. For collector: mango, mango, mango, slightly wet(black currant), gaso-mango, laser printer, mango and even more mango, dry down is a bit ambery, leathery, suede, with cedar. The dry down gasoline isnt as intense and the mid gasoline, it’s more like the gasoline from Fahrenheit. Final note: I think many people will like this, don’t blind buy this. unisex but leans masculine, decent longevity, ok sillage

Let me start by saying I am not one who tends to be drawn to the majority of tropical fragrances that have been released recently, but this...this is something else entirely. There's complexity, character, a depth that makes any sweetness deeply intriguing and edgy almost. This is when mango becomes enriched with a balance of energised freshness and sensual, sexy and smoky sophistication. It's safe to say that each and every note is identifiable and in the best way, it opens with this gloriously punchy tropical fruit blast but not overly sweet or sugared, more of the natural leaning actual fruit. The incense starts to reveal itself but carried by almost elegant florals which seems counterintuitive when elegance isnt exactly your first thought, but it works magnificently here. When the woody, incensey, smoky base goes full throttle is just amplifies the richness and texture of the composition. This is definitely one that you have to experience before buying, if youre bold and a risk taker, don't hold back because this is for sure something utterly unique and personally, I both admire and adore it, but its definitely a bold move. The fruits are done well and the gasoline smells really like gasoline, but the combination together is a bit sweaty or ammonia like. I like the smell but wouldn't wear it, my sister was very disgusted by the smell and instant eww reaction

This lasts as long as the worst day ever. Feels like forever. Present as always. Smells unforgettable. Could be good or bad. If something is unique, then its worth it under a world lacking character and own persona.

This is an extremely juicy mango scent. I do not get much else other than that. May also come off a bit like an imitation mango juice. As it dries down it calms a bit and has hints of a leathery feel.
