Plum Spray Paint

I really like this one - it's fun, quirky and definitely a conversation starter. Both the plum and the spray paint are realistic and prominent notes and the leather and saffron also makes it somewhat down and dirty. I probably wouldn't wear it myself, but it would be fantastic on a rough and ready kinda guy who doesn't mind getting his hands dirty. Highly recommended.

Bohoboco are so far up their own arse, that they can clean their own teeth from inside their own body. They strive to be edgy, cool, minimalist, high fashion and conceptual. I've reviewed their Polish Potatoes scent, which to be fair is absolutely outstanding; true rebellious perfumery. Plum Spray Paint tries its best to be rebellious, but it is the riot equivalent of gently poking a wheelie bin with a stick. I don't hate this scent; it just isn't as wild as it makes itself out to be, a bit like that cunt that you work with, who tells everyone that they are "weird", when in reality they do absolutely fuck all with their weekend, except settling in at home to watch the utter dross that is Saturday night TV in the UK. Polish Potatoes gives the world something new; an earthy, anti-perfume take on "fashionable" perfume. I can tell that Polish Potatoes is the first perfume Bohoboco ever made, without even checking if it was, because it is evident that a lot of work, care and consideration has been invested in Polish Potatoes. "it wasn't their first one ACTUALLY" says some twat in a message to me. It may not be their first, but it was definitely ONE OF their first. Plum Spray Paint on the other hand, smells as if it's been created quickly, with little care, like a nervous teenager trying to sell a bag of weed. If not, it has been created by accident, whilst on the way to a scent that smells truly artistic. The plum note is not accurate either; the sour, sharp scent of plum that I was expecting is just not there; it is far too sweet, to the point of being a bit sickly. The spray paint note is just a generic plastic smell, but I can see what they were going for. It smells as if they haven't quite pushed it far enough. They saw the scent boundary appear on the horizon, but blew their wads and slammed the breaks on far too early. Further refinement and experimentation with the notes in Plum Spray Paint, could produce something magnificent. But as it is, it's a sloppy piece of tosh. 5/10. It's boring, underdeveloped and far too expensive for what it is. I touched upon the terrible customer service of Bohoboco in my review of Polish Potatoes. I have found the perfect way around it; knowing a real life Polish person, who periodically goes back to Poland to visit their family. My Polish acquaintance went direct to the source for me whilst they were back in their home country. Polish Potatoes was brought safely back into England for me, which means that I don't have to deal with Bohoboco in any way, and I also don't have to pay the REDICULOUS import fee. Win win. I got three samples in the box with Polish Potatoes, which is what lead me to write this review. Expect two more reviews soon! ALSO, if you like this perfume, my own perfume company (SKIN SPELL PARFUMERIE - LAUNCHING IN OCTOBER 2026) has accidentally made a very similar smell to Plum Spray Paint, which I created BEFORE I knew of Plum Spray Paint. As soon as I smelt Plum Spray Paint, I literally said "whoops" out loud. My version of this type of scent does not tell lies or exaggerate about its composition. All will be revealed. Sounded funky and fun. Reality was fruit punch, Play-Doh, toilet cleaner and grandma potpourri. It isn’t weird, it just smells like cheap junk you’d find for sale at the desk of an hourly hotel. Hideous.

I was so excited to receive a sample of this.... and what a disappointment! This smells like a straight up urinal cake. I honestly don't get any of the notes listed other than URINAL CAKE.

What a fun scent! The spray paint note is incredible and suits the dark plum note perfectly. This perfume is expressive, unapologetic, creative. The opening is plum smelling spray paint exactly. It took me back to kindergarden when coloring with markers that had a fruity smell and I was kind of addicted to them. That synthetic, industrial smell you know is strong but nice and somehow you can't avoid going back to it. The spray paint smell starts to fade in 20min or so, without compromising the theme of the perfume, revealing a balanced and well blended fragrance that makes me concentrate on the experience instead of identifying notes. From top to base notes it takes 45 to 50 min. On my skin the spray paint note doesn't dissapear, it loses intensity. This is the kind of fragrance that makes perfumery fun and interesting.
