Bohoboco is my favorite niche house that I've tested so far. They created powerful and avant-garde pieces of art that have the perfect edge between nature and the industrial world. Today is the day of Quinto's first niche review, and this review is about my second most loved fragrance, both from Bohoboco and any niche brand in general This is not a fragrance but a timestamp of a moment. The moment when a fancy dinner becomes a hysterical madness, and you don't know when everything went wrong. It captures the exact flash between the recreation of elites at a fancy, invite-only party and screams, brawls, and panic. Imagine someone splashing ancient and gourmand wine over your white shirt or night dress, and after that, you feel only three things: the smell of the wine, the smell of your anger, and how you slowly enter berserk mode It's in fact photorealistic wine that, for some reason, smells odd, almost psychedelic, and maniacal. The alcohol of the fragrance itself steps out to support wine made of red grapes, with hints of cherry and smoldering wood. It intoxicates me and spins my head in the most elegant way. And the odd hints are what make it not just a wine but something more evil, on the edge of being here and completely detaching from the world The only fragrance I tested with a similar profile is BORNTOSTANDOUT Purple Stain. While being less expensive and much less powerful in comparison with BTSO's Extrait, this one substantially outperforms it. Purple Stain can be described as the smell and texture of sparkling wine with a prominent fizz of bubbles. Here you get a much clearer smell of fancy red wine with slightly burnt sugar and a polite leather note, like from a luxury purse. This is the smell I want to share with the world. I want to hear it on myself, my lady, friends, people I don't know - everywhere. Extremely powerful, alluring, and addicting. Definitely night-oriented, leaning more toward fancy dinners, parties, and dates. I don't drink alcohol, but this one is my alcoholism.

Red Wine Brown Sugar by Bohoboco is a nice and realistic wine fragrance that is super rare especially when done correctly just like fragrance as it smells like you in a work of art composed by one of the world's best artists. The wine note makes it a beautiful fragrance as it takes an original and basic fruity accord and enhances it to make it way more boozy and authentic using a red wine note. The dry down involves a super sweet brown sugar note as marketed on the bottle and it too is very authentic and gives this fragrance a boost of sweetness and overall makes it more unique and interesting. There is also a hint of caramel to give the sweetness from the brown sugar note an extra pop but that just could be me. Its price value is amazing as well at $185 retail and for a very niche fragrance that is amazing as it can be such a good fragrance for a bargain for more mature fragrance enthusiasts. Its longevity is substantial as well as it lasts around 8 hours which is outstanding for a fragrance that includes fruits and boozy notes as they don't usually last long the sillage is quite strong but nothing special so don't expect something crazy from this fragrance. Overall this fragrance is a super sweet wine fragrance and while I can understand all the comments saying this smells like a Mother's Wine club. This was a blind buy and I was really excited on the red wine note, as in the name. When first sprayed i immediately smelled the wine note, but it faded fast. It becomes a dark, soapy and leathery smell, it has a vintage/nostalgic makeup vibe, which I'm not disappointed about. It reminds me of my mom's box of makeup, in the early 90's, mixed with a sweet note. I don't smell raspberry, not in a fruity tart way, at least. I can stretch my imagination to a mellow glüwine/mulled wine. It's a sophisticated and grown-up perfume, and to me it's a feminine scent. Not sure about this on a warm sunny day, but I can see it as a night time scent, during fall/winter. Haven't let it sit for long, only about 30 mins so far, so i have to come back later for the dry down. Edit: after a while it had a brief moment with red berries, still not tart, and then evolved more into a leathery scent, making it more masculine. Soo.. i sprayed it on my chest (under my sweater) after a couple of hours, instead of on my arm. Now the raspberries and red berries really came through. Less red wine this time, but vaguely there. The perfume is growing on me, from like to love. Still same powdery 90's makeup smell, but with a fruity red wine over tone. I feel like wearing black velvet, sleek hair and black eyeliner and a red lipstick.

I genuinely smell every single one of the notes listed which never happens for me. Photorealistic red wine into sexy incense into long lingering salty caramel that's never sweet. Really tasty, totally unique, borderline vampiric without being too weird. Like you're drinking a vermouth on the rocks in a cool bar and it's loud and heady and someone is smoking a cocktail with wood chips and your partner is kissing your neck. I was so floored by the power of the sample that I immediately bought a full bottle, only to find that the performance isn't the same and it's almost flatter, less nuanced. I am wondering if they have formula inconsistencies now, reading others' varied experiences with longevity. For the price I'm a little pissed, this would be a signature for me if it lasted longer, but I still really love it and I'm hoping it'll get better with time, like fine wine.

A grown up fruity fragrance BUT even though it has SUGAR in the title - it is NOT a celebrity scent. Great fragrance for SPRING SUMMER. Fruity, slightly sharp, and a little darkness to tone down the cheer. Kenzo World, Guess 1981 Indigo and this are all the same type of scent - wine & berries. I adore all 3 - Guess=lighter, Bohoboco=deeper and Kenzo=Zotz feeling. I picture the person wearing this to have a little devil & an angel on their shoulders, sitting outside during festivities in 80+ degrees - slightly sunburned shoulders & face, wearing flip flops, yoga pants and a tank (all for casual wear / not to actually work out) - wondering if they should stay or go now cuz if they do there will be trouble and if they don't there will be double.

This makes me feel grown-up, despite being 21 and feeling eternally 16 and quarantined. The teen shut-in girl's ideal of a sexy, controlled, self-sufficient femme fatale who probably clubs and reads philosophy and kisses mercurial dangerous men and women in bars or...something. That may sound shallow to you - it may *be* shallow to you, but it's a different experience when you feel it. I hate red wine - this makes me feel like I could pass for someone who doesn't. It's powerful. Powerful and red - it stains. Careful with light sleeves.

This is a flawless perfume. To my nose, absolutely stunning. I get every note listed in its own time. All I've wanted for the longest time is a proper wine perfume that really gives depth and intrigue and I get that here. She smells sensual, sexy. This is a goth girl's dream perfume. And she lasts! I can, at the very least, enjoy the scent for 6 hours without having to press my nose to my skin to catch it. The only problem for me is that I'm not about to pay $195 for only 50 ML. Not a chance.

These reviews are so harsh! Personally, I loved this instantly. It smells like a woman who just hosted the perfect dinner party giving you a hug goodbye while sending you off with leftover dessert and her homemade jam recipe. It’s warm, uncomplicated, and such a nice balance of spice, fruit, and leather. Elegant without being matronly. My only complaint is that I wish it lasted longer!

This would deserve more love! I got a sample from it, with a bunch of others. This one was captivating! It's hard to find anything similar. In addition to the wine, the opening is a pleasant elderberry syrup. Not sweet at all. The cedar also comes out nicely after drying. Not a winter scent at all. It can be easily worn on a warm summer evening.

It’s exactly as the name suggests, a bottle of red wine aged in a library 📚. I love it but it sits too intimate for my liking Also I don’t think it’s blind buy safe so try and sample if you can before committing as it’s quite pricey

Oh my, one can rarely find something similar. So realistic red wine barrel smell at the start, quite complex and playing beautifully on the skin. Masterpeice ❤️ I have got lots of delicate patchouli in the base.

Delightful red wine sangria that fades to a soft, suede-like sweetness. Perfect for a vampy glamour with deep red lips - or her vampire boyfriend. Sillage and longevity above average.

Scent is subjective. I love this fragrance and it smells fire on me. This is like a sugary and wine version of African Leather to me. I have gotten compliments wearing this.

Bohoboco Red Wine Brown Sugar opens with a rich, sweet-fruity warmth that immediately feels darker and more sensual than a typical fruity fragrance. The red berries, dried fruits and raspberry create a juicy opening, but very quickly the wine note takes control and makes everything smoother, deeper and more intimate. It is not a sharp or alcoholic wine accord; it feels smooth and velvety. As it develops, the brown sugar, caramel, leather and patchouli start to build around the wine, and that is where the fragrance becomes really interesting. Almost every ingredient can be felt, but nothing feels messy. The sweetness is there, the fruitiness is there, the boozy warmth is there and underneath it all there is a slightly darker, more seductive base that keeps it from becoming just another sweet fragrance (which I usually dislike). To me, this is a very sexy, passionate and intimate scent. Definitely more for special occasions than casual wear. It is unisex, but because of that sweet, seductive and almost velvety character, I can understand why some people might read it as more feminine. On a man, though, it sends a different message: not soft and pretty, but confident, sensual and a little dangerous. This is the kind of scent that makes you turn around in a room and wonder who smells like that. It does not just sit there politely, it creates a mood. I would not call this a safe blind buy, especially not for someone who does not understand more complex fragrances or just wants something simple that pleases everyone because this is a fragrance that wants atmosphere, tension and the right occasion, not a random Tuesday morning at the office.

This fragrance smells like a fine dessert wine, rich, slightly dense and gently enveloping. It opens with sweet fruits blended with a distinct red wine accord. It instantly brings to mind the end of summer, my grandmother’s kitchen, and a large demijohn where my grandfather used to make homemade blackberry wine, a warm, slightly nostalgic memory. As the scent develops, patchouli, woody notes, leather and sugar emerge, adding depth and giving the base a more refined, slightly masculine edge. Unfortunately, on my skin it lasts no more than about three hours, with rather moderate projection. It’s a truly beautiful composition, but it definitely lacks longevity.

This begins with somewhat sweet red berries, but it is not necessarily fresh or super fruity, because the cedar and leather comes out surprisingly quickly. After dry down the boozy notes come out significantly as well. The mature scent on me is definitely sweet red wine mostly. While I think it smells good in general and could definitely see someone else adoring this scent, I don't think it's enough up my alley to buy a bottle of. If the base notes were a bit more prominent, then this could be a total winner for me. But as it is, this is more suited to people who desire those sweet, red berry and wine notes to be large and in charge.

I tested it today at Bohoboco boutique today and I'm thriller - this is not just the aroma of red wine and brown suger - actually it gets the best out of these two natural aromas plus it lasts forever. Besides that the drydown is just beautiful - it has a distinct evening primrose note which is not listed here but it can be definitely sensed. Also some rosewood notes are present but they're very distant. It's a very expressive scent but not an overwhelming one. Great stuff, worth buying for sure!:)

The name sums up the whole situation The wine is prominent and thank god the sweetness of the brown sugar wasn’t annoying or cloying The fruits are hard to pinpoint since the wine accord is overpowering Not to say the scent is powerful or gigantic it’s normal in both performance and projection Still I didn’t feel like it depicted the wine at the best possible way I think there are a more realistic wine fragrances not that I’ve come cross any of them

Oh baby, that's more like it. Strong red wine essence in the opening. Definite brown, caramelized sugar vibe. Dense but refined. Favorite from the house so far. Longevity isn't all there, and the red wind foundation fades into a hint of itself as the scent dries down...though, that may be for the best. Classy and a mixed bag. This is a nice, fun, gentlemanly frag.

Opens with a prominent, intoxicating red wine scent, that dries with some berries and caramel. After awhile however, i really pickup on a cinnamon/spicey type of note. That makes the dry down earthy and less sweet than expected. Very nice scent with good longevity.

Fragrance is subjective, and it is natural that the subjective mind is influenced by what the maker lists as notes. Boho is a great house, and this one is really interesting, but there is no red wine smell in here. You get vanilla, substantial patchouli, a bit too much orris for my taste, and a vinyl/leather accord that is probably a love/hate for most. Flits of almond, rose geranium, cedar, incense, dark musk are also present in the mix throughout the wear. The description would make you think that this is a gourmand, with caramel, brown sugar, alcohol and a whole bunch of fruits, but this is thankfully not that sweet. It is unique, well constructed, but it just isn't very wearable, at least not for a man over 50. I am surprised that so many feel this is weak. Even after 6 hours on skin and clothing, this thing is still wafting regularly and at a good level. Cold weather only, not at all casual, and definitely female-leaning.

Smells like a used wine barrel, like the half barrels you can get from the garden store. Woody and wine-y and fruity but not particularly boozy. A little bit of fermented sourness, in a way that I find appealing but seems to be polarizing for other commenters? I get the brown sugar for sure, but it's well-balanced & not intensely sweet. Not a particularly strong or long-lasting perfume, and like most of the scents from this line there's not much depth or complexity, but an intriguing combination nonetheless. It's a like, not a love.

As a scent in a vacuum, this grew on me because I like the smell of red wine. As a perfume, I have to pass. It was nothing special at first - gooey, sweet but the brown sugar did not come through well - and settled into a strong, almost saccharine wine scent that just sort of seemed like I spilled a very heady red on myself. This is a great idea but I could never wear this. The wine is very strong in the opening, as is the brown sugar, which takes on a sweet acid smell. On me this smells like tea. There's no wine or brown sugar at all, except during the first few seconds, when I do get some sharply fruity wine notes. Then it becomes, and stays, tea. It's nice tea, but it doesn't project very far.

This smells just like the inside of a LUSH store. The amalgamation of all of their stuff. My sister worked for LUSH and noticed immediately.

For me, it doesn’t smell at all like the notes suggest. I don’t detect any caramel, brown sugar, fruits, leather, or even wine. Instead, it smells synthetic, aromatic and perhaps fruity in a way that reminds me of gummy candy, with a slightly plasticky quality. It is more sour than sweet. It feels like an unfinished project or undercooked meal. I didn’t like it; I tried it several times on different occasions, but each time, I found myself disliking it more. The performance is average.. lasting about 4 to 6 hours on skin and 8 hours on clothes. I would rate it a 3 to 4 out of 10.

I usually refrain from reviewing until I wear something at least twice but I can’t imagine my opinion changes much later... I got virtually nothing from this scent. With all the rich-sounding notes I expected something much much bigger. This was like the equivalent of a kid sitting behind you on a flight and the kid is so silent and self contained that you never realize they were even there. I would say I got a hint of freshness in the opening which should be totally wrong but that’s my experience. Minimalist would be the word for this product.

As mentioned in another review, Bohoboco has a certain burnt sugar DNA to their gourmand offerings which is quite intense and polarizing. I see what they tried to do here with the red wine accord, but all in all it is quite jarring and messy. More of gimmick than an actual perfume.

Very perfumey, heavy and heady, smells like wine spilled inside a musty wooden drawer, with smears of old lipstick on the sides. I mostly get wine, patchouli and very bitter leather with some artificial fruity whiffs. Where is the sugar?

This does get better as it goes, but those first few minutes are a little too much like leftover cheap wine.

It's interesting. I find it smells vaguely of red wine, and also vaguely of house paint.

I tried my sample about a month ago & did not like it at all on first sniff, so I set it aside. In the spirit of fairness, & wanting to make room in the pen case I keep my small decants, I decided to give it another chance by using the entire 1ml bottle. Sadly, my first impression didn’t change. An unpleasant sour fruity wine & burnt sugar is all I got. No caramel & no cedar which are two notes I love. There is absolutely nothing sweet about this scent. Now, about 12 hours later I can barely smell it which is a good thing!

This fragrance is straight up offensive. It’s definitely not mulled wine, no warmth, no spices, not even close. I was banking on that perception, as I love mulled wine. This is definitely a cheap, stale, putrid wine. It’s so pungent, sharp and biting. Something in here reminds me of a very synthetic rose scent. Maybe that’s the raspberry? I don’t know, but this is a mess. I loved the idea of this fragrance, but it’s a hard pass.

I got a sample of this and hated it. With brown sugar in the title I assumed there would be some warmth, but I don't get that at all. I agree that it smells like cheap wine or maybe a rancid cherry juice, and a bit synthetic. It's sour, but very sweet as if someone dumped a bunch of sugar into a bad dessert to cover up their mistake. Smells like a bad, cheap grandma perfume.

I tried it today in Warsaw airport and absolutely fell in love with it! The first expression I got was: red currant juice! When I was a kid my granny used to make litres and litres of red currant juice and we drank it all winter long. This perfume smells exactly like home made red currant juice! It happened that I had some Slovenian bisquits with dried black currant with me and when I ate them I got a confirmation about the currant note in the parfume. Deffinately no black currants and not fresh red currants - but cooked or dried red currants. I must also note that all the other Bohoboco perfumes were good but nothing very special. Exept the and Coffee White Flowers what was like ice latte + L Artisan Perfumerie La Chasse aux Papillions = lovely! The Vanilla Black Pepper also started as a quite interesting and intelligent scent but as I'm not a big vanilla fan myself then the ending was too plain vanilla for me. I noticed that Bohoboco offers parfume sample box on their website with a price that I could actually afford - but the shipping would be 19 EUR, what I find ridicculous. I'm acutally considering flying to Warsaw to get this box!

"What's in there?" I ask. "Currant wine, sweetheart," she says without turning from the stove. Sunlight streams through the window onto bottles lined up against the wall. Red, burgundy, almost black - each one has a date written in marker on a piece of paper. Sediment swirls at the bottom like snow in a snow globe I turn upside down at the store while mom yells at me not to touch. A sweet, strange smell hangs in the air. Not like the juice I drink - sharper, heavier. It mixes with the scent of the candy in my mouth. Caramel melts slowly, sweetly, sticking my tongue to the roof of my mouth. In the background, the fridge hums - the same sound as always, soothing like a lullaby. The clock in the hallway ticks steadily. The sweetest memory from childhood. @the.scent.files

I bought a small bottle just to try and I threw it out immediately. I didn’t even try to resell it, I just wanted it out of my sight and my mind asap. I guess I am done with niche perfumes. I don’t like too generic perfumes either but there is always something in between. This one just smells of pure red wine and I can smell strong amber and myrrh even if its not in the ingridients. And something else...I don’t know what, but its definitely nowhere near dry fruit, berries or brown sugar. I would classify this perfume as very masculine and very dusty. It evokes strange, very strange emotions in me. Its almost as if I recognize it, perhaps I smelled something oddly familiar in my childhood and my subconscious associates it with bad memories for some reason. But it stressed me out so much, even after I throw out the bottle its phantom smell followed me everywhere for a few days...

I admit that it is a perfume with a lot of personality, very dense, very mature, very original, although not my favorite from the brand on an olfactory level. To me it smells a lot like red fruits jam, especially in the opening, and then like sugary red wine with a marked cedar wood and patchouli background. It has some booziness and even smoky tones at times and is completely unisex to my nose. As it develops, the notes that become more present are those of sugar or caramel. Its sillage is moderate and it lasts 9 hours on my skin. Autumnal and wintery, sweet, for night use, with a certain seductive and mysterious air. Without a doubt very different from the other perfumes of the brand and from all the red fruit perfumes I have smelled. Really bad. It's heavy, sour and vegetal. Like strong greeny marrows with dark grass and some choice strong grassy herbs. ''Fruity''?? 'Sugar'??? Who controls these? The listed notes are 100% incorrect as I have tested both at a posh department store *and my own bought sample and they're the same. It's almost *anti-sugar! It's literally a liquid tub of vegetables and nothing even dreaming of syrupy, sweet or addictive; this is straight up repulsive rather! I mean, it can develop into the nicest scent ever after 2 minutes: but it's job has been done for me , & my Wallet lives on for another round. My rating: 2/10.

First blast was a bit rancid, but then I started getting that nice whiff of tannins and red berry sweetness that is associated with decent wine. It's not particularly boozy, and the sweetness isn't overwhelming. However, that pleasantness doesn't last, as the final dry down is a slightly powdery berry rose, and that is what remains longest. Not sure where the rose is coming from, since it's not listed, but that is what I get. I'm not getting enough of the leather or patchouli, nothing that would make this more interesting. It's quite nice and pretty, but it's not what I would have guessed from the name.

not bad. i think i have a slight bias because sweet smells usually are not my favorite for fragrances personally, but this does truly deliver what it promises. it starts off with a rich red wine, but its brown sugar isn't far behind. it is a good balance. i easily smelled both the brown sugar and wine, and it lasts for quite a while. can't say i enjoyed the initial spray, but it dries down okay. i don't hate it, but i wouldn't be using this very often either

Red Wine Brown Sugar + Wet Cherry Liquor is divine worn together. It’s still very nice on its own though. Opens like red wine, dries down caramelly brown sugar. Very sweet but refined gourmand drydown...very nice, but not complex enough...worn with Wet Cherry Liquor however, it’s amazing. A flirtatious, fun fragrance, but in a mature, classy way. Very feminine leaning unisex.
