AMERICANA

Literally laughed when the first spray hit my skin because it actually smells like oatmeal, a first for my nose in perfumery. This is an interesting gourmand. The opening of rum, peach/apricot combo have presence but are not the star of the show. This is about the cinnamon oatmeal. The Madeleine, ice cream, and coffee are all supporting characters that you may or may not notice, with the espresso/coffee vibe being the strongest supporter. Here are the official notes that I get in this exact order: Cinnamon oatmeal, candied apricot, espresso. The combination is unique and delicious. If scent could be translated to color, think brown, but not too dark. This isn't a bright fragrance but oddly can be worn any time of day in any season so it get's points for versatility. Not a safe gourmand blind buy, test this one first to make sure you like the oatmeal note cause it really stands out here. I'd say projection is above moderate but not beast mode. Longevity is also above average, expect 7+ hours before fading to a skin scent. Can't decide if I need it since I already own Tonkapeach by Daniel Gallagher, which also has a darker gourmand vibe as well but with a more prominent peach note. Americana has less peach and more candied apricots in the background lasting well into the dry down phase. I might buy it when Tonkapeach runs out to fill that void but again, this is more apricots than peach and more oatmeal than ANYTHING so be warned.
