An excellent release from the house of Bombay Perfumery! I have Chai Musk (fresh, green tea, musk) and adore it. While I expected something more like CN by Versace (there is no coconut mentioned here) but I found this is closer to fleur de patchouli and leather jardin. In short, it’s a chypre ( if I may.) I get spicy opening dominated by ginger and black pepper followed by a resinous note and some yellow flowers. The heart notes stay throughout the woody dry down with some nuanced salty roasted coconut and project decently within an arm’s length (I am yet to get reviews on projection since I haven’t asked anyone about this while I am wearing it.) It takes the back seat after some hours but when it gets hot and I am sweating it’s there again. Lasts pretty much beyond 12 hours and still projects v well then. This is very green and balsamic. Assam/Kerala core (not Koraput/Sikkim. They remind me of softer, sweeter, colder Ebony wood). The humid earth in a tropical rain forest. It might not come out as feminine. It smells mature. Not sweet at all. And I appreciate her for this. Two things I would like to bring to attention of the makers are: 1. The bottles do not do justice to the juice. Such elegant and beautiful perfumes do not deserve to be stored in such cheap quality bottles. I have three bottles and all of them have their nozzles broken and one even has pieces coming off. 2. Introduce 1 ml/5 ml decants. You only sell 100ml bottles and there are no stores which sell these perfumes. They are not cheap to be blind buys. I want to try the others. Decants would help.
