Chai Musk

The opening smells of lemongrass some sharp pepper/ginger (that i cant put my finger on) and oil. It isnt the best. But as time passes (about 3 hrs later) it starts getting fresher, more ginger (minus the oily smell) and smells of fresh milk tea which is not too sweet. The dry down is where its at. I sprayed last night and i get the scent on my skin even today (about 14 hrs later). Sillage is decent in the opening (but since its not very pleasant then i struggle with being comfortable with it) i wish it were more like the dry down throughout. Update: so perhaps the oily note needed macerating bec I don’t get any now. It is very long lasting which made me reach it on most days to OPD/IPD and even night shifts and it stayed throughout the shift. And now that I have spent considerable amount of juice I can say this is green tea, lemon grass and ginger dominating musky woods. Very fresh, aquatic and gentle. Great for everyday wear to work or even a lazy day at home. More suited for summer/spring/rainy weather. I would like something sweeter, darker may be for autumn/winter.

Fantastic fragrance. There is something unique about this one and after going through the notes and reading about them, I realised, it is Osmanthus flower that has a sweet fruity profile. For almost the entire duration of the fragrance, I get a sweet peachy nutty vibe which I think makes it less wearable for me but on a woman, this smells amazing! Longevity is great (around 8 hours) and this one projects within an arms length for about 3-4 hours after which it becomes a skin scent. Surprisingly, the sweetness subdues in the later part of the scent life (usually it is the other way round) and you are left with a clean fresh green tea & juniper note infused with milky sandalwood. Was expecting a slightly stronger tea note but overall a very different fragrance from what I am used to smelling. Thumbs up! Bangalore | April 2017 | Indoors (26-30 Celsius)
