501 praline, licorice, patchouli

Warm and sweet, hazelnut opening. Bergamot and yuzu add a touch of fizzy brightness, while praline, licorice and iris create creamy heart. The base notes of patchouli, cashmerewood, amber, musk and caramel, give it depth and sophistication, final accord if you wish.. Especially blended accents of musk and caramel, which are responsible for this final accord: like you know, when the melody was already played, but last notes are continuing to sound in your head. As for me 501 can be worn for any occasion: office, shopping, vacay, party. It’s very friendly and would not bother anyone. Who should wear this ? Well, 501 is unisex, but for me, if I was a man, I’d layer it with something more “heavy”. Anyway it’s only imho. I see this fragrance as a perfect one for creative vibrant persons. But perhaps for some woman, big company accountant which is tired from the grey office life and throwing away her Coco Mademoiselle (don’t hate me Chan*| lovers). So this woman decides to enter a more colorful life scenery, spraying 501 and going to buy new lingeries at Agent Provocateur instead of visiting a boring business meeting. Switch on your imagination to find out what would happen to her afterward. I can say she would be all right Longevity: 7-8 hours on my skin; much more on my hair and clothes. Sillage: not that strong, but quite noticeable, and not bothering at all.

When I first read the notes on Bon Parfumeur website, I thought 501 would be one of those uber sweet, unbearably strong fragrances like something by Mugler or by Diptyque (yes I said it). I totally get why people love those fragrances but the whole point of Bon Parfumeur is SUBTLETY! So it is with 501. If you were hoping to make an entrance with this one, you might just do that but it won't be with all guns blazing, it will be charming your way with sweetness and nutty vibes. 501 envelopes you at first with roasted hazelnuts, it then progresses towards liquorice and light floral notes to end up with a slightly sweet, SUBTLE patchouli vibe. I love it and like someone said below it is definitely more European sweetness rather than American. Like with all things Bon Parfumeur, freshness, natural flavours and refinement are de rigueur. It may not be high luxury but there's luxury in simplicity. And the price makes it all the more delicious!

Usually, I don't gravitate towards sweet perfumes, but I took a chance on 501, and I'm so happy that I did. It certainly has a sweetness to it, but if you've ever compared American and European chocolates, 501 leans more towards the European end in terms of its sweetness 😄. It reminds me of Lolita Lempicka I cherished years ago. Not the newer version which feels flatter and somewhat lighter than the original. While 501 isn't a direct clone of Lolita, it shares a similar essence, warmth, and depth that I adored and couldn't find in the more recent releases of the purple apple. I love 501, it's a wonderful fragrance for the winter season.

I absolutely love this!😍 Nutty and musky gourmand, definetly not for everyone: I got compliments from my coworkers, but some hate from my mom (who is not a fan of sweet scents anyway) 😅 This is quite easily wearable gourmand, I have had this on daily use. Though I am a bit disapointed that liquorice note is not noticeble since I, as a Northern-European, find liquorice note comforting.

Softer and more refined version of La Vie est Belle. I don’t like LVEB at all, but i must admit Bp 501 felt delectable on the blotter in the opening. But when some hours passed i was left with LVEB ( caramel+patchouli) unfortunately. Between these 2 I would choose Bp 501 for sure.

I’m usually one to avoid gourmands because I prefer my scents light and fresh, but this one is a very safe and sweet comfortable nutty scent. I really adore it for colder weathers

I blind bought this and happy i did. It has similarities with la vie est belle but it's softer, less patchouli and has a creamy nutty scent to it.

If you find Not a Perfume to be too unisex for you, this is a feminine alternative; musky and a little bit sweet

B&BW Sensual Amber - my fave since high school. Layer with 302 to lessen cloying

A shot of a sweet crowd-pleasing mass market floral, a shot of a niche chocolate gourmand, shake don`t stir. There are these 2 universes that although overall have a pleasant effect, to me it feels like they are cellotaped together and do not combine well (same issue I had with Lira Xerjoff- obvious food mixed with obvious non-food). The listed notes are only accurate for the 2nd half. The overpowering sweet floral notes are not mentioned at all? Looking at the notes you`d think you are getting a clean gourmand. And there are strong gourmand notes but they are not the main character, they are not as loud than the sweet floral that comes with it (yes "La vie est belle" is quite similar). And that sweet floral is choking out absolutely everything. I`d prefer a clean gourmand without the mass market part OR at least turn down the floral volume because the gourmand notes are much more interesting here.

Bought this while in Japan! Honestly the more I wear it, the more it reminds me of Black Opium (but in a slightly watered down type of way). It's a decent scent but the drydown is a bit screechy. I like it, but I like similar scents more. Definitely a safe blind buy if you already like similar perfumes!

This smells great but is very shallow. I am not getting the patchouli note very strong and that's a shame. Otherwise, this is a very pleasant candied nut fragrance with a little bit of musk and fruitiness. A possible buy for the spouse, who connected with it, but a miss for me.

Very sweet, I sprayed it for the office and it feels more winter night out to me. It reminds me of black opium but not as intense (although still very strong) I was hoping the licorice would be stronger. I’d put this in the man eater category 😉

The salty, nutty praline this opens with is to die for. 15 minutes later, it’s joined by fresh clean citrus. Then, as others have said, it fades into general sweet LVEB perfumeyness. Nice! But nothing especially unique.

It’s nice! So pretty. But fleeting and overall kinda generic and nothing you haven’t smelled before. You get the nuttiness and plenty of sugar, but nothing extraordinary.

This smells like a lot of other scents - an Angel-esque gourmand with a nutty twist. It's a good alternative to more expensive versions of this kind of scent.

sweet & malty. smelled like the essence of the candied nuts that the street carts sell, but less rich & in your face.

This is a creamy nutty praline gourmand scent that reminds me of a lighter version of Mugler's Angel Muse EDP.

I’ve just received my 30ml bottle & I have to say this is interesting. It’s definitely sweet, gourmand, warm & slightly nutty. I get: praline x licorice x hazelnut x iris x amber x caramel x patchouli. This reminds me of: if La Vie Est Belle’s patchouli & praline x with Lolita Lempika’s (purple apple bottle, gold detailing on bottle) licorice & iris x with a softer toned down *Mugler’s Angel x with some warm cozy caramel & amber. There something in this perfume that smells like on my skin, the toffee note in Jimmy Choo’s EDP - another one of my fave perfumes. Toffee isn’t listed as note though. *There’s a Mugler perfume I’m thinking of that I believe is in the Angel line. It looks like a futuristic alienesque sci-fi pebble. It smells of: chocolate, hazelnut & patchouli. I can’t think what the name of it is exactly though. For anyone that knows the above mentioned perfumes, be it they own/wear/have worn them ect, knows that the above are very sweet warm gourmand fragrances. This is one the sweetest perfumes I’ve come across. The packaging isn’t lying when it said gourmand on it, nor is the fragrantica rating bars at the top of page lying when it rates highly for sweetness. This is very feminine, there’s nothing atypically masculine about this fragrance at all. This really is a warm, cozy, sweet candy like cuddle of a fragrance. If you have any or all of the above named perfumes, you really don’t need to get this one, what this does is take a characteristic/note or 2 from each of the above perfume & combine them into one bottle. This is cheaper than the above perfumes, my 30ml bottle cost me approx £30. If you don’t like sweet, warm & gourmand fragrances & you don’t like any of the above mentioned fragrances; I would skip this fragrance & move on to something else. You’re not going to get anything but sweet gourmandness out of this. True that perfumes do smell & pull differently on everyone’s skin but the above description is what exactly it is: very sweet, gourmand & warm. However, if you can get to test it, I would recommend doing so. This is a safe blind buy for those who like the: Mugler’s Angel range, La Vie Est Belle & Lolita Lempika, Viva La Juicy type of fragrances. Try this if: You like super sweet fragrances like the forementioned perfumes. You like 100% feminine fragrances. You’re looking for a likeness of some of the most popular sweet fragrances out on the market, (like the ones listed above), but aren’t willing to or can’t spend the money that higher end designer fragrances demand. You like fragrances that are more like a cozy hug/cuddle than beast mode projection - this fragrance works & circulates best in your intimate bubble space. You’d like to try something a little lesser known than mainstream fragrances. Skip this if: You don’t like/love super sweet gourmand fragrances. You’re not into purely feminine fragrances & like more unisex/masculine fragrances - this is 100% feminine. You like super strong “beast mode” fragrances that project far. You don’t want something that’s not well known. I’m impressed & pleased I got this. A nice little inexpensive find from what I believe to be not a very well known brand. I’m glad I found them.

Starts with a scrumptious hazelnut opening... and fades into Flowerbomb oblivion. To my nose, this is literally Flowerbomb. Nothing more. Sure, it does smell good but... I wish I could experience what the pyramid showcases... Oh well, here's a FB dupe for ya. I guess.

Nutty praline with a sweet fruit background, I'd guess pear rather than any citrus. No licorice. Smells like a soap or body spray with just a little extra creaminess / nuttiness. Easy to wear. Meh

liked at first but then praline ( not a fan on any fume ) took stage just can't do it, this with out the praline would have been a winner

I'm testing the Bon Perfumer discovery set of 23 fragrances blind. I haven't looked up anything about the brand or the fragrances. I'm working through the cute little bottles in their numbered order. 501 opened up with a toasted almond, buttered popcorn, and freshly made caramel. It is undeniably dessert sweet. After a few minutes some musky elements arrive. It's like an elegant state fair. Later the sweetness does relax and become more airy, letting the musky notes be more prominent, but to me dessert is always there. This lends it to come across as a more feminine fragrance but not overtly. Looking at the notes now, clearly my experience is defined by the hazelnut, praline, and caramel with the musky notes floating in-between. I don't really sense the yuzu and the licorice is non-existent. Fragrances that make me hungry are too cognitively perplexing, but if you're cool with people nibbling on your neck during a hug, this might be for you.

The nutty, gourmand praline in this is initially appealing but ultimately too salty for me and combined with the licorice I think somehow produces an odd, plastic type scent that I wasn't expecting at all.

extremely sweet in the opening in a caramelized sort of way, and the nutty facets here read veryyy candied vs rich or deep or dry, which I think is where the scent falters a bit. The patchouli here is noticeable in a dusty sort of way, with a creamy iris and smooth cashmeran. The licorice is very subtle, barely there, and I think if it were more prominent. the spice would've helped level things out here. As a patchuoli hater, this isn't my cup of tea, but this is one of the better sweet patchoulis I've tried.

it's really sweet, i find it impossible to wear in hot weather. the praline really comes through which is super fun. if you like gourmands you would do well, if you don't then stay away. of course it deepens with time past the initial shock of hazelnut but if you don't like it at the opening scent, your opinion probably won't change

Bought the Cube Fire F Sampler from this line and this was my favorite. In the vein of the original Le Petite Robe Noire from 2009 but wonderful in its own right. I shall probably get a FB...they have a reasonably priced 1 oz. size...what's not to love?

Really warm and sweet, but the licorice makes me turn my nose on this one... When I first smelled it, it genuienly made me gag. Then I tried it again and the verdict is that it's a nice christmas perfume, buttttt the licoriiiiiice aaah I hate it!!

Got a sample of this and I regretfully wanted to not waste the product so I put the whole packet all over myself. I should not have because this fragrance made me feel really nauseous. Had to really scrub it off!

The opening of this fragrance reminnds mme of a very soft version of Angel Mugle which turns slowly into La vie east Belle Lancome followed by an old style aftershave finish.

Smells like a sweet version of Soap and Glory’s Clean on Me scent, very sharp in the nose and headache-inducing.

lighter version of killian black phantom. so underrated! am i the only one, who thinks this is unisex tho?
