Central Park West

My first instinct was that this was a LOVE at First Spray - I have waffled around on it, this perfume has carried me on quite a fragrance journey. This is a super high pitched soprano perfume and can give you almost an ice cream headache if you are not used to this type of sweetness...for this reason, this would probably never be a "signature" perfume for me, but would have to be a special occasion perfume. But there is just something about this perfume that I dearly love. This is really a fabulous perfume. (Update on August 18th, 2022) ------------ This perfume is like a 3 Act Play - The first Act - The first 30 minutes to hour of wear is OVERLY ANIMATED, BRIGHT, a bit SHARP - almost to the point of a cartoonish comical perfume. This appears to be a sharp white floral tuberose-heavy perfume. (This perfume is the most TUBEROSE Perfume that I have ever smelled, without tuberose in the ingredient list. It must be a combination of Narcissus and the other ingredients). If you have read "Dressing Your Truth" by Carol Tuttle - act 1 is a true Type 1 perfume to an extreme level. This is totally "Type 1"! (The bottle is also an example of design taken to almost a comical animated extreme. The bottle fits the beginning of this perfume). Act 2 - After this wears about 30 minutes on the skin, this turns into a much more creamy white floral. In this phase, it is almost the creaminess of vanilla ice cream with coconut shavings; there is a slight tropical vibe to this perfume, in this phase. (This part is like Type 2). I fell in love with this perfume in this range. This is still bright and animated but becomes a bit softer and less slapstick, this phase buffs down into a smoother more wearable white floral chord -- but still with a few snarky, raw edged bright notes. That being said, this perfume lasts a total of 4 hours on my skin, which is not in my target "signature" range, but the fragrance is so lovely on - that it may be worth buying a tester or sample just to carry on hand to refresh at the 4 hour mark. This has a happy animated vibe to it, it is definitely sweet and alluring - but starts out fierce white floral bordering on over-kill. If you can power through the first 30 minutes of this, the phase that is most alluring starts then! Act 3 - (The dry down) The dry down is heavenly, this is a gorgeous phase of this perfume, too! This appears to fade on me by the 4th hour of wear, however - I have caught a whiff of this hours beyond that - but it is so faint that it appears that it is no longer present. ----------- I am trying this alongside Fred Hayman's 273 Rodeo Drive because they both have a strong tuberose base to the perfume. I like both 273 and Bond CPW - they are both glorious examples of white floral tuberose. I feel that I may lean more towards liking 273 a bit better because it has some peachy alto notes which ground the chord from appearing to hit the rafters with such a screechingly high tuberose scent. (I thought 273 was animated and bright till experiencing Bond's CPW). I am still sensing a vanilla/coconut shaving type effect with the tuberose in CPW. These two have similarities, but are different enough to try both. ------------- Bond Central Park West is like the upper register of a perfume without the presence of the middle or lower registers. For this reason, I feel that this would be a great perfume to layer with other scents that need a lift in the upper register - soprano notes. There is a quality about this perfume that makes it appear that it is missing something, they needed to ground this upper register with some alto notes that anchor the fragrance a bit more. Fred Hayman's 273 is a perfume that seems to do this well. They have the higher pitched upper register balanced by the peach in the lower register. --------------- The closest thing that I have to this in my own collection is "Today" by Avon, which is a bright, soprano chord tuberose perfume. This perfume draws compliments like crazy. People really like the tuberose perfume. "Today" is more of a linear aldehyde representation of the tuberose chord without any discernible piccolo notes that add the texture of Bonds Central Park West snarky bright sharp notes. When I compare the two perfumes side by side, the quality of the Bond perfume clarifies the rafter type notes, beautifully. Bond's CPW is slightly more green and a bit more bright than "Today". Both are gorgeous perfumes on. (Avon's Today is more linear and is a great place to start if you are new to super high soprano notes of this type of fragrance). Central Park West is like the perfume version for a culinary treat for those that are really into high register soprano note fragrances. If you really love this type of perfume, you really should take the time to try it. ------------ Elizabeth Taylor's Gardenia is like the Monet painting version. It is a soft focus, impressionistic chord rather than a perfume with defined sharp notes like Bond's Central Park West. ET's Gardenia is a slightly lower chord, but a really nice blend-- it is more linear and registers like a fluffy cloud of the chord of CPW without the snarky bright and sometimes SHARP notes. If you are at the phase where you are experimenting with super high soprano note type fragrances, ET's Gardenia would be a good place to start. If you really like this type of high chord fragrance, then by all means - try Central Park West! ----------- Central Park West and Avon's Rare Pearls -- I wouldn't have known this unless I was sampling these perfumes at the same time. Oddly enough, these two are a fairly similar chord range -- alto base chord. Central Park West has more biting sharp high notes than Rare Pearls, but if you love CPW but need to find a day version of it to extend the wear of your more expensive signature -- you will probably like Rare Pearls by Avon. Rare Pearls would be the more office friendly blend, where as CPW has more expression.

After trying it's sample I couldn't forget about this beauty and finally I bought it.it's 60mil left in it's bottle but I know this would last me a long time because it's very potent I believed this is a white floral bomb.Wrong!Central Park West is not just a white floral.yes gardenia is the strongest note,also jasmine is there all through it's life but there's enough ylang-ylang and lemon blossom to make it a combination of yellow and white florals(I can't detect narcissus and I don't miss it) Sweet,peppery heady flowers which have non-descript fruity naunces,blend with a lovely musk,not too clean and not too dirty.this creamy sweet gorgeous,is grounded by woods which deepen it and just a slight touch of soft powder which assures it stays feminine in spite of it's woody notes which don't really show up on me.I love it more than my expectations and it goes directly in my top shelf I love it when floral scents are potent and delicious and this is definitely yummy and sexy as hell and at the same time it has luscious feminine richness of florals. I can't even describe how much it feels good wearing it But if you don't like sweet and strong fragrances it's not safe for you I applied just one spray ten hours ago on my hand.I washed my hand more than ten times in this eight hours and it's still there.even sleeve of my blouse smells of it I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but for me,this is pure perfection I have tester bottle of this which doesn't have it's pink cap and flower.among three perfumes of this brand that I own(this one,Manhattan and perfumo)this one is definitely my favorite Now I have Chinatown,I love NYC for her and central park south in my wishlist ❤❤❤❤❤ Edit:this is a comment magnet.whoever sees me asks my perfume's name It's longevity and projection are unbelievably amazing! از بهترین عطرهای گلی ک ب زندگیم دیدم و بلافاصله رفت جزو محبوب ترین عطرهام قبلا فک می کردم یه بمب وایت فلوراله،اما ن،درسته که گاردنیا قویترین نت این عطره و یاس پررنگی هم داره،اما یلانگ یلانگ و شکوفه لیمو هم درحدی حضور دارن،ک به ذات گلی این عطر،علاوه بر رنگ سفید،رنگ گلهای زرد رو هم اضافه کنن(خوشبختانه نرگس حس نمیکنم)این گلهای قوی و جوندار و روشن و فلفلی که ته مایه های میوه ای هم دارن(شاید بخاطر ذات هلوییه گاردنیا)،با حضور تو بستری چوبی رایحه عمیقتر و جدی تری پیدا کردن اما به لطف پودر خیلی سبکی ک رو نت ها نشسته حالت کاملا زنانه عطر حفظ میشه...مشک تو سنترال پارک وست حضور برجسته ای داره و مشک بسیار زیبایی هست.نه بسیار تمیز و ن بسیار کثیف. از اونجا ک سنترال پارک وست عطر خیلی قوی هست برام قابل درکه ک هرکسی نمونه باهاش کنار بیاد...رایحه شیرین و فلفلی و خامه ای گلها میتونه برای افراد ملایم پسند خیلی باشه اما برای من،درست به اندازه ست..سنترال پارک وست ضمن اینکه شیطنت پرسروصدا و محرکی داره،ذات زنانه و اشراف مآبانه گلها رو هم با خودش داره.خیلی خیلی دوسش دارم توجه کنید ک زیاد از حد اسپریش نکنید.واقعا خیلی قویه وحتی با تعداد اسپری های کم هم میتونه توجه زیادی ب خودش جلب کنه..مثل اکثر عطرهای فلورال جون میده برای بهار و عید،اما تمام سال قابل استفاده ست.هرچند آب و هوای معتدل رو پیشنهاد میکنم

My first spritz of this was "Love at first Spray" -- I loved it. I sampled this alongside my top tuberose perfumes and white floral favorites. This perfume lasted over 6-8 hours on the skin and made it through the heat of the day with almost the same exact notes which it started with. This stayed on well through a very rigorous outdoor walking session. This perfume holds true the entire length of wear, it doesn't morph into different elements in the dry down as this mixes with the chemistry. This holds its form very well - the dry down is a softer version of the start. If any one ever questions how well Bond's fragrance line holds up, Central Park West is a testimony to a quality perfume. Yes, this may be a bit more expensive than other brands - but the quality and performance are definitely THERE! I recommend this perfume for anyone who truly loves soprano note high pitched white florals. This is an excellent one to try. This smells like tuberose - but that ingredient is not listed in their ingredient list. I agree, this is DIVINE! ----------- If you like Bond's Central Park West and are looking for something that may be more diffused for office wear and those with sensitivities to fragrance -- try Avon's Today (tuberose perfume) or Avon's Rare Pearls (white floral perfume). These two are in the same chord range, but are more diffused -- like a soft Monet painting version of CPW. These won't replace the exact quality of CPW - but will give you a similar perfume chord range of expression.

Again, as always "sherapop" hits the nail on the head! This one's LOUD! You may even get Tinnitus just by wearing or being just in the same room with it! But then again, NYC is not exactly a quiet town, is it? Think about Manhattan, with their notoriously loud mouths, awakening with equally loud spring colours, perhaps mismatching and sometimes clashing ensembles? Where is Joan River's "Fashion Police" when you need her? In fact, I think Joan Rivers could smell like this (on a good day). Now jokes aside, I cannot imagine a man ever to smell of this (and I am usually VERY daring) but I can imagine gently spraying this on the back of your knee, to highlight a white floral in your main perfume, that you use on your upper body and neck pulse points. That could be fun! I can also see this working well with fabric; as a matter of fact this literally sticks to any fabric like a BIG NEON SIGN!!! Nothing says: "F*** OFF WINTER and let the SPRING BEGIN!" like this little dog-toothed number. It is a WHITE FLORAL MONSTER MODERN ART MASTERPIECE! ...and of course a modern shameless copy of FRACAS by Robert Piguet...but you knew that already. 10/10

Central park west is amazing! Just like others have said it is a sillage beast! I wore my sample yesterday and it projected and lasted more than 14 hours. I did not have to re apply like i have to mid day with most of my other perfumes. Imo it does not smell like Michael kors. Michael kors is a creamy,tropical, banana nuanced tuberose. Central park west is a thick,heady, opulent, gardenia and ylang ylang. They are both amazing perfumes but different. Central Park West is really peppery, so if pepper is not your thing than you probably won't like this perfume. For the first 15 minutes i smelled alot of pepper and it tickled my nose and lots of fresh gardenia. Soon the ylang ylang came out and gave the gardenia the buttery edible quality:) Im very in love with this and plan on buying a bottle asap. Im so impressed with the longevity and sillage because most perfumes now claim to be sillage beasts and long lasting and there not. This stays pretty linear after the ylang ylang enters the scene but that's ok with me. It's not boring at all.

ADORE this. I knew I had a tough day ahead of me today, but choosing CPW was absolutely the right starting move and helped me to take it on with confidence. I was a little intimidated by reviews saying that this is a loud fragrance, and in some senses, they're right; I thought it calmed down considerably about an hour in, but you'll be able to smell yourself all day with this one, and a couple sprays will do just fine. In my case, I personally like this aspect of CPW, and I give it big thumbs up for all-day enjoyment. I also give this fragrance major points for longevity; I've been wearing it for over 12 hours now, and even though it's practically a skin scent at this point, I can still catch whiffs. It's true that it's not the most complex scent; bubblegum gardenia all the way. Again, though, if gardenias are your bag, then you will probably love this. Creamy, buttery, and sweet, I hope to have a full bottle of this beauty some day!

I can't get all this dislikes,central park west is a modern floral,I mean a floral scent even suitable for young females,it's pretty,very strong but not sharp or in your face,I love it!after couple of hours and just one little spray,there is a gorgeous gardenia,ylang-ylang,jasmine,narcissus scent radiating from my wrist...just one spray and lots of lovely comments from strangers after some good hours,this is a winner This floral bouquet is bright and delicately sweet,almost linear with a soft Musky undertone,it has the white creaminess of white florals but not in a boring old way..I can feel something synthetic,I often feel this in gardenia dominant fragrances but not in a bad way..all in all it smells pretty,feminine,strong and youthful Highly recommend ❤❤❤❤

Among all gardenia perfume that I've ever smelled, I think Bond No. 9 Central Park West is the reigning queen. It's really pretty, and I think it's more than an eau de perfume, I think, based on it's beasty silage and lasting power, this is an extrait. A must for gardenia lover, the jasmine is there, the linden blossom is there, it's so white compared to the bottle. I initially hesitated to wear this, I bought this because at some sites, this one is listed as unisex... but heck, I don't care anymore about perfume gender... I wear what I like. A warning though, it's sweet, for sweet perfume lover, it's a safe blind buy. For Central Park West, the potential of the juice justify the price.

This is nice, definitely light, floral & sweet. The prominent note on me is ylang ylang, jasmine, gardenia. It’s weird but I definitely get coconut in it too? It’s very tropical, nice for summer. It smells almost exactly like KWW Body 2 perfume, the notes are almost identical too! Initial spritz I get lots of gardenia, Michael Kors signature vibe, but that quickly within a minute changes to ylang ylang, Jasmine, lime, coconut. It projects well, I only have it on my skin too, still testing longevity. I would highly recommend getting a sample before buying because it’s unique & different, not your typical designer crowd pleaser.

i told the SA i wear chinatown and she showed me this and chic, chic may have been too boozy . i cant believe how much i love this . criminally underrated, a must have for white floral enthusiasts . the pepper isnt sneezy or dusty, i barely notice it but it takes on an almost plasticky effect . the florals are all dense in full bloom and powdery, so i see it as f/w, but this is still appropriate for warmer days . ylang can sometimes be too heady for a casual moment (to me) but i can see myself wearing this without offending with a lighter spray . i already have some bigger planned purchases but this may skip the line .

i have never been able to try a Bond No 9 ($390 for a 3.3oz who do they think they are and what is this made out of?) i got a sample in a magazine of this one and couldn't wait to try it on. First off everyone is saying if u hate gardenia u wont like it well it is one of my most hated flowers but i actually to really like this alot, is a lovely white floral wit a kinda powder in the mix, but not baby powder and some type of berry maybe like sweet blueberry (although not in the notes) this is very nice and i like it alot but the price of this fragrances are ridiculous so of course i will not be buying it.

Gardenia all the way! STRONG. spray with caution...less is more. 💕 Lovely sweet fleshy gardenia, very faint peppery note. Dries more creamy gardenia and sweetens up more and more. There is a somewhat tropical vibe ... gives off coconutty notes during dry down. I love this scent in its latest stages ...it is very strong and lasts ALL DAY (and maybe longer) !! If you don't like Gardenia you WON'T like this. Has similarities to Saks Fifth Avenue for Her. But Central Park West is louder, much more of a gardenia scent, where Saks Fifth Ave is more sweer creamy tuberose.

So many here have said CPW is strong. Well, yeah, if you spray more than once. But if you can restrain yourself to ONLY one spray, it's a gorgeous white floral that spends the entire day with you. I knew the minute I sampled this that I had to own a full bottle. It reminds me of La Chasse, which I also love. La Chasse doesn't have nearly the longevity or sillage of CPW, tho. Try it with a light hand and you'll probably love it, if you already love white florals.

I adore this scent! It is a very pungent and beautiful gardenia with a ylang-ylang scent, which has definitely Bond No.9 DNA! However, when it dries down, it becomes a very chypre and classic powdery scent, which weirdly reminds me of the medicinal poultice scent since the oak moss scent tends to be extremely prominent on my skin due to my body chemistry. However, longevity, and silage are amazing, and the design of the bottle is fabulous without any doubts!

to me this smells like a warm sultry grown & sexy pink bubblegum. i dont see amber in the notes but its like a sophisticated amber-y bubblegum with heavy ylang ylang. not cheap smelling. expensive smelling. if u like oud satin mood/oud satin mood extrait, you’ll probably like this, theyre obviously different scents but i just mean if u like heavy, sweet powdery scents, they’re similar in that way. signature scent worthy. sometimes i smell vanilla too?

This is gorgeous I go easy on the trigger with this one because it’s strong but definitely a gorgeous scent especially if you like a nice creamy white floral fragrance. Which I do depending but it smells really good like a rich boss bitch scent. This is beautiful, feminine, powerful. I really like it!

OMG!!! The best perfume ever. When I wear it people go crazy. I am sooo difficult to please with perfumes but this one is the most unique and amazing. I dont know of any perfumes that can even come close. Its romantic, it sexy, it sensuous. Just great. Definitely worth the price.

This is a personal favorite of mine from Bond No. 9 and it is very long lasting. I can see how this fragrance is similar to Givenchy Amarige, they smell very similar. Another fragrance that smells similar to this is Gucci Bloom. Happy to have found this fragrance! :)

So I bought this one, because I thought it would be remind me of my favorite perfume Saks Fifth for her. It’s not the same. It’s a nice scent, but at the end of the day it started to bother me. SFA is creamer and more unique.

Stunning! I think Park Avenue princesses use it. Its elegant, floral, warm and classy. I wish, I could afford it (255 EUR). I luv it!

warm milk & honey & ylang ylang. slightly powdery but a strong scent in a good way

After falling head over heels in love with Saks For Her I came to revisit CPW. If nothing else to see if this Bond No 9 gardenia creation could maybe, just maybe replace the other. I won't get into comparisons but they really are very different. So, CPW isn't exaclty the perfect, full and luscious true gardenia scent I once thought it to be. It's an impressive, quality floral packed with nuances of white, yellow and green, each nuance equally present throughout the entirety of the scent. The florals, namely narcissus, ylang ylang, jasmine and gardenia, are not just top notes that eventually give way to a vanillic, woody musky base. The composition is big and it's linear, so those giant, almost cartooney flowers never leave. They only soften over time, and it takes a long, long time to get there. The opening could knock you back if you're not careful, or if you generally dislike very yellow, very green and very white floral compositions. The vanilla in the base makes it slightly sweet, but it's not a particularly sweet fragrance. The spices, woods and musk keep it a bit sharp throughout. It never goes creamy, coconutty, or tropical in the usual sense. It lasts and lasts, and does not quit. One spray on my shirt has continued to project 36 hours with the no signs of stopping anytime soon. It's a big fragrance! On skin it doesn't leave until a shower, but maybe not even then. I personally really like this one but I have to be in the mood for the greenness/ slightly vintage vibe that narcissus gives it. Pepper, musk and oakmoss adds to the vintage floral feel. I prefer my gardenia much more creamy and buttery, like my beloved Saks. Honestly the two are so different. Gardenia is really the only link between them... and vanilla. Which like I said, doesn't stand out in CPW. I have a handful of samples that I'll work through, but for now I won't be getting a bottle. I find it challenging most days, but always intriguing.

Thanx smellME for the sample. Strongsmelling, sweet but wonderful. Lots of Narcissus and Gardenia in a creamy way with some pale pepper and Ylang-Ylang. In base the Musk dance around alot on my skin. gorgeous! But use with care - or else it will become thick and overwhelming in an awful way. ... and it reminds me of another scent.. and it took me a few hours to figure it out.. Carolina Herrera, Carolina Herrera EdP, white box with golden dots.. same heavysweet Narcissus-note.. they are really similar on my skin, but Bond costs about 3 times more. Tack smellME för provet. Starkdoftande! Söt men underbar. Massor av Narcisser och Gardenia på ett krämigt mjukt sätt med en aning av peppar och Ylang-Ylang. I basen dansar Musken runt på min hud. Ljuvlig! Spreja försiktigt- annars blir den tjock och kvalmig på ett obehagligt sätt. .. och den påminner om..det tog mig några timmar att lura ut det.. Carolina Herrera, Carolina Herrera EdP, vit box med guldduttar på. Samma tunga Narcissus-not. De är riktigt lika på min hud, men Bond kostar ungefär 3 gånger så mycket...

There are so many 'gardenia' scents out there that fail to truly capture the essence of gardenia and end up relying far too heavily on tuberose to get the point across. CPW has the greenness and vibrancy of actual gardenia, but it's not screechy. It also isn't too sweet like all the others. While it does smell like perfume and is quite strong, it doesn't irritate me at any point. That's a sign of good gardenia perfume. Basically, Bond No9 did gardenia justice with this fragrance. It's sooo enjoyable and fun! After the opening I get more of the ylang and jasmine, but they add to the composition rather than take away from it. Full bottle worthy for myself and I'm not typically the biggest gardenia fan! For those who truly love the scent of a good quality gardenia fragrance this is an obvious choice. Fantastic in winter when you need an escape from the gloom to a tropical place.

Opens with a dated grenade of white flowers. I sensed an intense tuberose opening but that not is not listed. It is a rubber ball of some kind of flower, perhaps it is the jasmine. Slowly softens to a beautiful bouquet. I keep getting tendrils of this in the air, a property of perfumes I love. Well worth sampling! As a houndstooth freak the bottle is enchanting as well.

This is a nice youthful light floral feminine scent for warm weather, daytime. Central Park West is all about white florals (gardenia/jasmine) with strong ylang ylang, mild linden blossom, strong narcissus and mild musk/pepper. The rest notes are very mild. Performance is very good. It's long lasting with strong sillage for the first 1-2 hours.

Interesting, as much as i dont like musk, i dont think this is bad. It feels like a scent for a powerful, successful woman. I'm imagining a lady in her 30's or 40's wearing a great Chanel suit or dress. It's strong, musky, yet feminine, original enough for it not to bore or bother. 4 stars out of 5.

the opening is beautiful when you keep it to a 2 spray maximum anything over that and its just way to heady and sweet projection is good over the first 4 hours i kept getting whiffs of myself but after that it was just gone overall its worth a try but may not be for everyone on to the next

165 I really enjoyed this a lot. Lightly creamy tart fruity candy florals with a twist. The only thing that I felt was unnecessary was the oakmoss, which in dry-down ruined it for me. I have to pass, but it’s very good otherwise. 7/10-without oakmoss

This is a beautiful heady white floral. The gardenia is sweet and strong, augmented by the ylang and jasmine. The florals stay strong all the way through the dry down. Lovely scent for white floral lovers.

I apologize in advance that this is going to be a bit of a rant. I have blind bought Bond No. 9 scents over the years, sampled, inherited, decanted, etc., and I am patiently waiting to be blown away by one of them eventually but it just hasn’t happened. They all smell cheap and very pedestrian. I mean that with as little snobbery as I can possibly muster—there are alot of other well-loved scents that I don’t love, but can still appreciate the artistry and quality of the craftsmanship that justifies the $300 price tag. With Bond No 9 I cannot. I can see these being sold at mid range or low prices and being wearable and in some cases kind of interesting and unique. But not at all investment-level worthy. For that reason I feel like bond no 9 is an example of extraordinary marketing and branding that has taken over the actual perfumery; the star bottles, flashy designs and colors, quirky names and neighborhoods, limited distribution before the internet was an available channel, super high prices that really amped up the exclusivity factor. it’s all very intriguing and beguiling, but the scents just don’t match up!!!!!!!!! They just don’t. I also find it virtually impossible to connect the scent to whatever the name / part of the city this supposed to evoke. I don’t understand how this evokes Central Park west. My most confusing experience was the random florals of the Chinatown scent. It’s hard to excuse this, especially when there is so much inspiration to pull from in terms of Chinatown and smells, so much that can be indescribably present in an inspired scent that is just not in bond no 9 — at all— which I really find surprising, esp since it’s inspired by an entire city. maybe it’s just me and I don’t get it. That said, I love white florals with Tuberose and Jasmine near the top of my list, ( fracas, carnal flower ) so Central Park West was a pretty strong like at first. I am surprised there is no tuberose in this because I was sure I smelled it but understand there is a fine line between tuberose, gardenia, and jasmine that can be easily confused. However, after 5 minutes of CPW I had to scrub!! Even with these universally-pleasing creamy white floral elements, there is something so freaking synthetic and superficial about this scent that I cannot get past. The synthetic aspects overtake all and I find it impossible to wear for any length of time. I have experienced this with all Bond No. 9 perfumes, unfortunately, to varying degrees. My favorite, first, and biggest splurge at a time when I made pennies, was Madison square Gardens. Such an unusual green-fresh and floral with tremendous longevity and sillage, but something about it that was so damned sharp and synthetic. In my naïveté I wore it because of the amount of money I spent on it, thinking this was how expensive perfumes smelled, and kept it for years, but I always wanted to take it off mid wear. I’ll keep trying! And I will humbly take this back and give credit where due. But I really can’t help but think these are so ridiculously overpriced. I give the brand kudos for its excellent marketing. Truly amazing for this brand. Such a unique niche it’s carved out, I don’t think it is going anywhere anytime soon.

Central Park is a beautiful fragrance, but I cannot wear it. On my paper test, I was instantly hit with the amazing scent of jasmine, which lasted through the opening and the mid but faded away by the dry-down; leaving behind a creamy gardenia, slightly woody with musk scent that I would love to smell in passing. However, Central Park is a very strong scent. After my paper test, I did a skin test, and Central Park smelled exactly the same on my skin as it did on paper, but after an hour of wearing it began to get sick due to its strength of it. I washed my hands 3 times and the scent was still hanging in as a skin scent. I like it, I can see a woman around 25 or older wearing it. With one spray, this would be a great spring or summer work-scent as it is beautiful, not too sexy (if at all sexy), long-lasting, and makes a statement. It would also be a great scent for a wedding day in spring.

This was a failed blind buy. I bought this and Nomad- LOVE NOMAD and returned this perfume. All my coworkers who tried it agreed as well it just wasn't worth the price tag. Very dated floral type of scent. I don't hate it but I certainly would never reach for it. I'm quite surprised it as as popular as it is because I thought it was nothing special and very boring smelling.

Super nice white floral base with a sweet honey and banana feel, also has a little pepper and creaminess or powdery vibes. Very feminine and could be great during spring and summer but has a heaviness that will work well in fall or winter too. Great performance and longevity.

First of all, I'm personally not a white flower fan, so I'm sorry if I offend anyone. By looking at it and after smelling it, I'm still not sure what this scent have to do with Central Park West. Plus it shouldn't be adorned with a pink flower because there is nothing to do with it. To me, my first impression is the scent is indeed all about white flowers. It's not sweet nor harsh. I get something like a mild incense and a light fruity accord that help me not to get smacked around by the white flowers. Later it gets slightly plastic powdery; must be the ylang-ylang. For the base, it seems so laughable that vetiver is listed here at all. To be brutal, Central Park West reminds me of an older wealthy lady walking her dog and a church on that side of the park. Should I mention "a funeral home" too? To be nice, it's a really nice and rich white floral scent. Among my collection, I'd compare it to Belle d'Opium but much less sweet. Gardenia seems to be the strongest here, and it is a good thing. (I still like my Opium better!) Anyhow, I'm pretty sure that there are white floral fragrances out there that are less expensive but just as good or better. So keep looking around, folks.

The opening of this one is sharp, strong, and yells "Gardeniaaaaaa and Jasminnnnn" at you while raining sugar. It's a strong party-girl opener, but quickly has a mood swing. You get some brightness, and IMO, the ylang-ylang and tropical notes start showing at this point. Suddenly it's spring break and there are cabanas! Fruity cocktails! Poor judgement! Funny enough, maybe it's the orris root or the musk, but I get this weird, hot buttered popcorn note. I'm not a huge fan of oak moss, and for me, it feels a bit out of place, emerging like a bumbling oaf in the middle of such a Disney princess fragrance. While I'm sure if I continued to wait, this scent would change again, I'm getting a headache and I'm off to scrub my arm. In general I have a preference for elegant, refined femme scents, and this one doesn't fit that profile. I can see how many would find it likeable--it feels young, vibrant, and ready to have a good time.

Yeah, this one is quite a scrubber. Headache material. It doesn't start out that way. It starts out kinda nice, soft, not white flower heavy (due to the yellow top notes) but whenever you put gardenia and jasmine together, at some point you may as well forget everything else, as it will completely disappear.--except for whatever is pungent green in there. Wow, is that powerful! This is not as cloying as Saks Fifth Ave for Her, but I would suggest wearing this on the wrists ONLY and just the teeniest little bit. I like this perfume for about 5 minutes. Then I am ready to scrub it off! Note: If you are a lover of white flowers (or if you don't love them, but you would like to) try Louis Malle's Carnal Flower. This is a tuberose that will highly impress you. Probably one of the highest quality perfumes I've ever had the honor to smell. I do not love white flowers, but Carnal Flower made me think again.

I was at a Target store this evening and walked past a woman wearing this. I thought it was strong, but also classy smelling. When she was near me in the produce department I asked her what it was. "Bond Number 9 CPW", she replied, and I told her it was lovely. She said she receives a lot of complements on it. I'm surprised at two things, 1) the notes list, because I don't usually like white and yellow florals, and 2) how many of you dislike this one. I will have to test it on myself though, just to make sure I really like it. It's very "perfume-y" if that makes sense... like maybe in an 80's kind of way? I hope it smells as good on me.

I recently received this as a gift for Xmas & I have to say that it is extremely strong of Gardenia. It smells EXACTLY like a garden of gardenias on my skin. I actually wanted Central Park South & my honey got me the wrong one. The Gardenia is so strong that it messes with my allergies. At least on my skin. For those who love the Gardenia scent, this would be perfect for you but it doesn't work for me. The dry down is much less potent & is leans towards a light sweet scent. I actually like the dry down but unfortunately, I can't get past the top note & it blows out my allergies every single time I try to wear it.

A horrendously sordid gardenia, dragged under by a gigantic narcissus and a rain of pepper. The first few minutes after a small test spray, I became intensely nauseous and prayed that my head wouldn't begin throbbing. Definitely industrial strength, cloyingly sweet and over ripe. The bottle, however, suits the fragrance - cutesy, loud, awkward and pre-adolescent. After thirty minutes the dry-down was rather pleasant, but not pleasant enough to endure the first half hour.

Oh, my! Having a love/hate relationship with tuberose, I find this to have gone the ugly direction of synthetics trying to capture the un-capturable gardenia: in my case that means a very rubbery tuberose, heavily intoxicating in the headachey, assured-hangover from too much debauchery way. Unless you LOVE the thick, tire-rubber kind of tuberose, try it 1st!

How this could be described as a gardenia scent is beyond me. I don't detect anything of the creamy, indolic, mushroomy and green aspects of the gardenia in this one. It smells more like peach blossom, although it's not in the list of notes. If you are a gardenia lover, this is not for you.

Too sweet candy smell... Too strong... Too linear... Bottle is cute though !

Bond no 9 CENTRAL PARK WEST is a *very* strong floral perfume. That's right: perfume, not eau de toilette or eau de parfum. So that's the first important point. I have worn this creation now about four times but have barely made any inroads at all into my purse spray. I'm not complaining, mind you. In an age of dilute juice with cologne longevity being fobbed of as eau de parfum, Bond no 9 is providing lots of big sillage and excellent longevity. These are only welcome, however, in the case of CENTRAL PARK WEST, if you happen to appreciate Big Fat Floral Fragrances. This is not a joke. If you have any issue with white flowers or big sillage, you'll want to stay very far away. You'd be much better off with your genteel Jo Malones and L'Artisan Parfumeurs, all traces of which evaporate within the course of two hours (at least on my skin...). I initially did not like this perfume. It seemed like a product of Lego perfumery--perhaps a mixture of SAKS FOR HER and HARRODS ROSE. The flowers here are so strong individually: gardenia and narcissus loom very large, but there's also jasmine and ylang. Not for the faint-hearted. This almost has a 1980s vibe, in fact. CENTRAL PARK WEST is about as far from CENTRAL PARK as a composition could possibly be, but when I look at the bottle in which CENTRAL PARK WEST is housed, it all begins to make sense. Doesn't that purple houndstooth smack of middle-aged women of leisure sporting St. John or Chanel suits? Think about it. And then there's the pink hat, which goes perfectly as a topper to those boiled wool jackets. Now that I've figured out how strong this perfume is, I am more favorably disposed toward it. But it is very floral and there is a kind of yellowish powdery feeling, imparted perhaps by the narcissus. I love narcissus, but here it is really ramped up by the gardenia to an almost megaphonic level. This creation is a part of a recent cluster of überfloral perfumes launched by Bond no 9, and it fits in well with I LOVE NY FOR EARTH DAY, which, against my expectations, is a big powdery tuberose perfume (how many guys bought that one, thinking that it would be something along the lines of CENTRAL PARK? I wonder...). SAG HARBOR, too, is a part of this bunch, packing a mighty punch of peony. At this stage, I think that it's safe to say that I'm still somewhat ambivalent about CENTRAL PARK WEST. The more I think about it, there is almost a Giorgio-esque quality to this bouquet of superstrong flowers--although I do find that they smell natural here. I'll try CENTRAL PARK WEST again in the fall or wintertime...

This is a classy white floral chypre to wear with your prettiest Sunday clothes in New York City/Manhattan. I feel that it totally matches up with the moniker. I wore this to my birthday celebration dinner in Central Park West's most iconic restaurant Tavern on the Green. This is a glamorous and very formal fragrance. As it opens it's already floral with yellow ylang ylang flower and narcissus not to mention a linden or lime blossom. Smells like flowers in a park and that's what I was hoping it would smell like. Now the white florals begin to kick in after the citrusy scent of lime blossom fades away, and the other flowers take a backseat. The white flowers are in bloom: gardenia and jasmine. They are assisted by a spice note of pepper and some powdery root of iris. This is very mature and yet sweet. The sweetness comes from the hybridization of white florals and yellow flowers plus that lime. This part of the fragrance doesn't last too long. It becomes woody. The bottom composed of woods really provide this scent with that outdoor park smell. It's a gorgeous oak and oak moss combination. Smells like walking under oak trees while a breeze carries their scent into the air. This is really a fitting perfumed tribute to Central Park one of the most if not the most famous park in the entire world. As a little girl I thought there was nothing greater in the whole world. I've been to so many different parts of the world and I still think the way I did as a kid: Central Park is the best by far. I'm so proud of my hometown and it's parks. I was wondering if such a name and place association would live up to the expectations I had/standards I had for it. And it did. This is also a very pretty bottle. The packaging/design of the fragrance is very cute and girly and looks good on a dresser table but it's not at all a girly sweet candy scent, not a gourmand by any means, nor a raspberry-fruity floral type of scent. This is strictly for women, women who love their white flowers and their walks through Central Park.

My friend gave me a set of bond 9 samples for my birthday and it was the first time I try this brand.I don't like very flowery perfumes especially white flowers.I buy a very expensive 10mil of carnal flower last year they said it's best whiteflower bomb and I don't like it.when I was try this central park I didn't know it's a white flower perfume and I love it from first.I didn't know gardenia and narsis can smell this much great in a perfume.flowers are strong and sweet and little peppery.they are delicious and loud.creamy but not very much creamy.and without green or soapy that I hate in flowery perfumes.there is some woody notes but not green or manly woody notes.I love it and I need it.all people that think this days they don't make strong and good perfume or great flowery perfumes test this.it's not for shy people.very very strong and if you use this all the people can smell you before they see you.it's really sweet but beautiful and I feel there is a fruit in it too.it's good for four season and all age.if someone buy it it can be her best perfume even if you have more than hundred perfume.and it looks very interesting and beautiful in picture too.I must find it and buy it 10/10 حتی اگر مثل من عطرهای گلی مخصوصا گلهای سفید دوست ندارید حتما باند ناین سنترال پارک وست را امتحان کنید.قبلا ده میل کارنال فلاور گرفته بودم که میگفتن بمب گلهای سفید هست و اصلا خوشم نیامده بود.بمب واقعی و زیبای گلهای سفید این هست.هیچ وقت فکر نمیکردم یاسمن و نرگس در عطری انقدر زیبا باشن.گلها قوی و شیرین و کمی فلفلی هستن.اصلا سبز یا صابونی نیستن.خامه ای هستن اما نه زیاد.نت های چوبی هم کمی داره ولی نه نت های چوبی سبز یا مردانه.یک چیز میوه ای هم حس می کنم.بوی بی نظیری داره و آدم واقعا لذت می بره.کسلنی که فکر می کنن عطرهای قوی و خوب و عطرهای گلی بزرگ این روزها ساخته نمیشن باند ناین سنترال پارک را امتحان کنن.پخش و ماندگاری این عطر مثل بمب هست.بیشتر از هرعطری و همه می تونن قبل از اینکه شما را ببیندن این عطر را بو کنن.برای چهارفصل مناسب هست و تمام سنین.شاهکار واقعی هست و اگر کسی این عطر را بگیره و بیشتر از صدتا عطر هم داشته باشه این میتونه بهترینش باشه.ظاهرش هم توی عکس خیلی جالب و قشنگ هست.حتما باید این شاهکار را پیدا کنم و بخرم ۱۰/۱۰
