Eau de Noho

I think some of the reviewers here are a little mixed-up, as there are no violet flowers in this perfume. There is violet leaf, but no violet flowers. The two are very different and not indistinguishable. Overall, this is primarily a Linden blossom scent. Since no real Linden blossoms are used in most perfumes, as the extraction process is so difficult and costly, other notes are used in addition to whatever synthetic was used to create that accord. It is the mimosa and violet leaf that contributes to the realism of the Linden blossoms in this perfume. A delicately done mimosa (think opposite of Amarige), mimics the honey sweetness of Linden blossoms in nature, and the violet leaves add a fresh, green, slightly aquatic, earthy component. Both those notes help nail the scent of Linden blossoms. It’s startling to me how much this fragrance resembles the actual flowers. Out of all the Linden blossom fragrances I've tried (DHS French Linden Blossom, April Aromatics Unter den Linden, Jo Malone French Lime Blossom, Fragonard Tilleul Cedrat, Oscar de La Renta Something Blue), to name a few, this is hands down the most realistic Linden blossom perfume yet (though I haven’t tried D’Orsay’s Tilleul, considered the best by some). It is a very realistic interpretation of the Linden trees growing in my neighborhood when they are in full bloom in late spring. The smell of clusters of bright sunny yellow florets, like little golden stars, hanging downward from stems is an intoxicating, earthy, honey sweet floral scent. I wore this on several occasions while the Linden trees were in bloom and was astonished by how close it smelled to the actual thing. Not exact, and let's face it, no perfume can ever match a true floral exactly, but enough that it satisfies my craving for when the trees are no longer in bloom. Contrary to the common name used for this tree, there is no lime or citrus smell from the actual blooms, at least not in US trees that I’ve smelled, though many fragrances use citrus as an opening note when creating a primary Linden blossom perfume. I suspect this is done to keep the fragrance fresh. Here I believe it was done to make this scent more on the line of a light, refreshing, summer cologne appropriate for the warm season when Linden trees are in bloom right into the hot summer. It certainly fits the bill for that, as this smells especially wonderful in warm weather.

A favorite by Bond No 9, in my top 3 for sure. It's got everything going for it... Freshness, warmth, mild sweetness, powder (not too much powder). The mix of mandarin and violet leaf in the opening makes it feel naturally candied, a flavor something between orange juice and grape. Not artifical smelling at all. "Watery greens" run through its veins. That mouthwatering opening lasts decently on skin, but it goes the distance on clothes. I love that fragrances keep their top notes on fabric. Eau De Noho is similar to Kenzo Summer but it's greener, more citrusy & rounder. It's by no means an aquatic perfume, but where Summer is a true dusky mimosa that's ever so slightly old fashioned feeling, very almond forward and powdery-paste-like, EDN never gets dusky and remains lifted with citrusy "watery greens," which makes it more vivacious and in a sense, aquatic leaning. EDN's mimosa has hints of natural almond accord but it's not played up. Both blend into the skin beautifully, leaving it smelling clean, warm, a bit salty. Both dry down quite clean, a bit soapy, though never screechy. I love both, but if I had to I'd choose EDN. It projects perfectly around me for many hours. Beautiful beautiful clean, warm, happy fragrance. The most natural smelling from Bond No 9, I might add. I'm familiar with linden in fragrance and I do get linden blossom with this, so I see why it's been said to contain it. But it's not actually part of the official notes. Where does fragrantica get their notes lists? It must be a combination of notes that achieves the effect. Edit: This is quickly becoming one of my most reached for and most loved perfumes this spring. No shock. I may need to back this baby up in the event the unspeakable happens.

Eau de Noho starts off very delicate, like a whisper of scent but proceeds w/ knowing purpose after the first 5 minutes to become a very powerful yellow floral. This this the best interpretation of the linden blossom I have ever smelled. Linden blossoms have that lime/pollen smell. It is yellow and it is green. I have been wearing a perfume called Linden by Provence Sante (not in the data base here) for my spring linden scent. It is very pretty but a bit to honeyed in its approach and take on the Linden blossom. I also own Chat Perche by Goutal and that is a pretty linden blossom, but it also has notes of white flowering trees and sweet peas. I enjoy wearing them both a lot but Eau de Noho is so realistic that it puts what I was wearing for my spring Linden blossom to shame. This perfume is a dead bang perfect representation of Linden. Green and yellow fragrant pollen w/ touches of honey and citruses. This perfume envelopes you the same way flowering Linden trees do, it is so overwhelming, almost suffocating for some (not for me) but I love it. The only thing is I cannot buy a bottle of this because my husband absolutely hates this smell of linden. He can tolerate the Goutal Chat Perche but not this one. When we are around linden trees, he has to take his meds and put drops in his eyes. So as much as I love this, I can't purchase it. But if you are in the market for a true dead bang linden blossom perfume Eau de Noho is the one, trust me. A gorgeous spring beauty.

Bond no 9 EAU DE NOHO offers a new take on the violet, which here mingles deliciously with linden blossom. I love violets already, and this combination is delightful to my nose. The slightly citrus opening is refreshing and makes this a floral fragrance that works well in the heat, as demonstrated by my reapplication this afternoon, when the temperature reached 95F, with no adverse effect. On the contrary! (-: EAU DE NOHO also has a substantial base to fix the luscious florality, thanks to which the longevity is good. The drydown has an ambery-clean musky quality, but the violets continue to be the focus. This unique composition is among the best of the Bond floral offerings, and is now on my wishlist. Highly recommended for violet lovers!

This is absolutely stunning! I smell strong linden flower, some vanilla, and soft musky green notes. This reminds me of my childhood in central Europe, walking down Linden tree lined boulevards in the springtime and loving that fresh scent. It is very long lasting and quite strong, but natural, not synthetic smelling. I've sampled 3 other Linden fragrances from other houses, but none of them were even close to this one. This is a beautiful summery scent that's not loaded with citrucy notes, which makes this unique. I don't have a lot of experience with Bond frags, but this one is a winner. I just ordered a whole bottle, which will last a long time, since this is powerful stuff. Love it, it's worth the $$$ because the quality is there.

Have you ever wondered in countryside at the early spring when the linden tree blossoms? If no, I would suggest to do so, but if yes then you have an idea how Eau de Noho smells on my skin. It's pure linden with violet lingering now and then. Linden on me is dominant. On me it's extremely sweet, but very, very comforting and enjoyable. It reminds me of those spring days in countryside I mentioned before, because this is very, very natural smell. For some it might be even nauseating and headache inducing, but not for me. For me it's pleasure, first warm sun after a long winter, birds singing and a warm, warm feeling around me. A must have for me. And a must try for everyone else.

Eau de NoHo by Bond No. 9 I tried this scent in Harvey Nichols, Manchester 2 years ago and thought "How sweet and feminine is that for me to wear!"... Since then I have used a full sample and need to admit that the scent has really evolved on me...fresh, sweet, floral but very pleasant and long lasting...I can detect some muguet/lily of the valley that reminds me of one of my favourite Bonds, Eau de New York... I have now bought the large size bottle and need to admit that I get several hours of pleasure from this formulation...not sure about sillage as it feels very close to the skin but fantastic longevity...thumbs up !!!

This is fresh,soft quiet and very easy to wear. Stand out notes for me are the linden flower tempered with a flash of subtle musk. It gets nicer the longer you have it on and for me anyway it really needs a couple of hrs. to develop. I wear fragrance everyday and this might be the one I spritz on when I just want to feel clean but not overly noticed. If you carpool or are in tight quarters with others, they will be nice to you because you'll smell so, so good! This was a blind purchase, and pretty pricey at $160.00 retail. I was able to buy it on e-bay for half that. Think it's full price worthy.

I have tested it 3 times from a bon bon sample and I adore it! It starts out slowly enough, pretty but not great and then in 5 minutes VAVOOM! It is sensual and lucious. All the notes seem so perfect together. The violet lime blossom and orange are wonderful and the oakmoss,amber and musk give it powerful depth. I definitely will buy a full bottle of this, and soon.

It's a very fresh scent, it's the combination of mimosa and linden, and it is invigorating... This perfume makes the bleak day better hahaha... okay, I am exaggerating, but when it is firstly sprayed, always bring a smile on my face. I know it is marketed towards female... But I think males can use it too... Or maybe it's just me being overconfident....

Clean,soapy. Lovely Lime flowers. Beutiful air of spring intocsication. I love it in the winter,which is not very cold here, it brings the spring to me, In the summer it looses it's magic for me. Its a LOVE. Thank you Cereza for the decant.

My favorite Bond No 9 fragrance! I just can't get enough of this and am on my second bottle. I dont get any certain note, but it is balmy and gorgeous. I can't see a man pulling this one off per say, but it is a beautiful scent!

i love this scent and i think the brand did a great job when created this one. i saw mandarin orange and lime blossom as top notes along with water notes and green notes. i don't get any orange nor lime, but the water and green notes are there. the flowers blend very well with water and green notes, eventhough i'm not sure which flower i detect. never sniff a mimosa or a violet in real life. somehow this scent also remind me of a hotel that i had visited and i think this is a plus poin for me. i can imagine rooms in my house smell like this, or perhaps my office room. Eau de Noho launched as a fragrance for women and men, but i can't imagine men wearing this perfume. for me this is clearly a scent for women since this is send a feminine vibe from the very beginning to the end.

I put this on and thought I hated it..I think it was the soapy smell I found initially offensive. After about a half hour to hour the overwhelming scent settled and a fresh delightful limey scent shone through - I am unfamiliar with Linden blossom but guessing that is what I have come to love about this fragrance. It is particularly lovely on the inside of my elbow. It's been 6 hours and I can still faintly smell the lime...so I'm taking the hate back and moving it to a like. Would I purchase a big bottle...I'm putting it on my list as a maybe - leaning to the yes...I think you just have to move past the initial spray and let it settle on your skin to get to the love!

Eau de Noho is a lovely fragrance. I love Lime Linden & Mimosa and here they are in a great mix with some musk, Violet Leafs, green notes & Amber. To me this is not an unisex-scent - this is a true flowery female'ish scent with som mimosasweet airy notes as well. I love Summer by Kenzo and these two scents share the fresh sparkling Mimosa but after that - its two different parfums. But if you love Summer by Kenzo I think you will love Noho as well.

I love the linden blossom and magnolia, with the mandarin and violet leaf. It’s a beautiful, fresh scent. I just wish that many of these Bonds weren’t ruined with the laundry detergent musk at the base. That makes it a pass, for me. Other than that musk, it’s natural-smelling and not aquatic/synthetic, is sweet, but not overly so at all. It’s very balanced and pleasant.

I tried this from a sample I got from my freind.. Nice freshie floral scent.. At first I got the feel on barbershop touch in the opening, kinda soapy as well.. then it sinks into a light fresh airy green vibes... despite the freshness and all that it still has this cozy comforting vibe - like its covered with a velvety powdery blanket

The linden is nice at the start and is really the star of the first hour. Once that fades it is rather nondescript however and doesn't stand out as much. The linden is the note that really makes the composition unique, you could get the rest of the scent much more inexpensively. Also doesn't last as long as most Bonds.

I'm from Indonesia, and this fragrance its a perfect picture for Javanese traditional ritual called "siraman" the mimosa and yellow flower in this perfume is really prominent, and might gave a headache for some people.

A well balanced fragrance. definitely pleasant and persistent, not chemical at all... but somehow was not representative of myself and too similar to something already in the market.I didn't purchase again. 2.5/5
