I Love New York for Fathers

Honestly, I didn't expect much when I blind bought this, especially after reading the moderate to negative reviews on the internet, and I think there are only 2 reviewers making videos on Bond no. 9 Father's Day. It took a really great leap of faith to finally bought this... And when I finally got this one, I am quite shocked, because it is quite pleasant. In fact, I'd prefer this than Montauk. I don't understand why people compare Father's Day with Acqua diGio or Sag Harbor, because to my nose they are very different. Green Irish Tweed does have similarity though, but not Acqua diGio (very aquatic) and Sag Harbor (peony bomb alright)... Bond no 9 Father's Day smells bitter, very bitter (i think the basil responsibles for that), and when I smell this I feel like I'm in a traditional chinese drug store, and surrounded by herbs, and medicines made organically from plants. Yes the smell feels classic, and I really think 20-30 ish guys wont be able to pull this off. I think this scent is more suited to 40+ grown men. So I feel lucky to buy this since it's discontinued...

Roger & Gallet used to make a lettuce soap and Crabtree & Evelyn used to make a very good cucumber soap. This smells like those soaps combined. I don't get any citrus. I do, however, get lettuce, lots of cucumber, and some grassy, herbaceous notes. Not revolutionary, but I find it lifts my spirits. It's fresh without smelling like harsh citrus, laundry detergent, or an aggressive department store aquatic.

Clean, Fresh and nice. Great for work and going out. I had 2 samples that I went through because of the fresh factor and citrus note. I would like this but a 50 mill is 105 bucks I will def buy some other bonds but don't know about pulling the trigger on this one. Yes I will.

Update: The sun peeked out today and I grabbed this box this morning. I must say I have received several compliments today on this pleasant fragrance. It lasted about 7 hrs on the skin and my shirt still smells great. Felt like a super clean Father. Thanks Bond!

This isn't really the love child of any other fragrances, but this one has two dads. Acqua di Gio and Beyond Paradise for men.

Soapy white musk, lavender and spicy basil with hints of sweet lime are the most prominent notes on my skin. Bland and uninspired, this is a nice inoffensive scent fit for casual use or the office that smells like a herbal irish spring soap. I'll skip the cologne and go for the soap if I ever want to smell like that. Projection, sillage and longevity are all average. Score 5.5/10

Just picked up two 1.7oz bottles at Marshalls on final clearance for $4 each! Such a great deal. This one smells pretty generic. Slightly fruity, aquatic, clean. Nothing outstanding, just a grab and go kinda scent. Can't beat the deal I got on this. Very happy to add this to my collection.

Very green and fresh. While the listed notes are much different, this reminds me a lot of Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Toit - especially for the first hour or so. A very light and refreshing lime-based summer fragrance. Like most things in the Bond No. 9 stable, longevity is pretty good.

Got a sample in my sephora order for my husband and he loves it. It lasts So long. He can put one spray on before a12 hour shift and still smells amazing after work. It's not over powering either.

a nice fragrance. pleasantly fresh, but not really loving it. a certain undercurrent turns me off a little. Certainly not enough to dislike it. good longevity on my skin.

The comparisons to Sag Harbour are why I wanted to check this fragrance out, since Sag Harbour is one of my favorite Bond No. 9's for warm weather. This smells like a rejected formulation of Sag Harbour that Bond decided to bottle and sell. It is almost the exact scent, it's just not as well rounded and it smells like something is missing. Since they came out during the same year, I wouldn't be surprised if they swapped a note or two (basil and lavender maybe?) and called it a new scent. Skip this and go for Sag Harbour. I feel like anyone who dislikes Sag Harbour will dislike this. Not everyone who likes Sag Harbour will like I Love NY for Fathers.

Where Acqua di Gio is unmistakably masculine, this particular cologne teeters on unisex. In fact, it smells JUST like Sag Harbor, which is one of my wife's favorites. ...on her. So, the fact that this cologne for Dads smells exactly like Bond's biggest peony bomb, is kinda weird. A unisex cologne for Dads?? Yeah, no. Try again, Bond.

This stuff does a crazy magic trick! It does this thing where it OPENS...... and then it's GONE. I tried a sample. That will be all.

To me this scent smells like an aromatic pine tree. I don’t care for it that much

Not sure i can say I actually have this one, it could be the "for fathers" scent I actually had before I sold it. I just got it from mercari for $34- claiming it was I love new york- holidays which is way too similar in looks other than the see through blue glass & plastic i love ny logo, but all the stickers were wrong. It was a circle instead of a rectangle. like on the bottom line of the legit one I actually had before i sold that one. . Also, not sure if the lid is supposed to say the purfume name like purfumista Avenue did...? But this one was blank, anyhow..at 1st spray this one smelled like a urinal cake. I was however thinking I just bought holidays But now I sprayed it again knowing what the notes in fathers are by reading the description & I think I'm totally describing fathers & not I love ny. im definately picking up the basil & lime aquatic citrus watery smell.. smells more like I just walked through a public swimming pool where a bunch of guys were practicing & headed back into the locker room. Thats what this smells like to me. basil lime etc. it smells ok but kind of watery. So possibly..its not legit. The purfumista one did the same thing to me. at 1st spray it smelled like strong b.o. then I sprayed it on a month later & it was actually similar but so strong it wouldnt wash off, this one washes off though. easily. . This one doesn't seem as strong as the purfumista. But its also more of a guys cologne. But both play tricks at 1st I hated them second they were better

I don't think I like this, but I may have over sprayed from my little sample spray vial for this test wear. Its irritating. Maybe just a hint diffused in the air would be better. I would prefer something else in the same general scent profile, maybe my simple Posh on the Green by Atkinson's. And this is NOT a Fougere, despite the lavender and green accords. It doesn't have that telltale Fougere prominent lavender-coumarin core DNA as it hits the nose. It just doesn't wear lije one. Fougeres are my favorite genre and I have a pretty full spectrum from Guerlain Jicky to Guerlain Mouchoir de Monsieur to Chanel Boy, to the Barbershop Fougeres of the 1970's and 80's, to more modern interpretations like the reimagined Houbigant Fougere Royale, Amouage Bracken Man, MDCI Invasion Barbare, Tom Ford Beau de Jour, etc etc. So if not a Fougere, then what is I Love New York Fathers Day? I don't know, maybe a Green Citrus Aromatic "Freshie". Not exactly a canonical genre but a made up one that I think best describes it.

I can't wait to get a bottle of this. I wore a sample at work yesterday and I was amazed at the longevity and the evolution of the fragrance. The opening is very powerful, fresh and sharp. It reminded me of Bleecker Street at first. Those top notes don't last all that long, but it's not a problem because I then settled in to a very fresh, masculine, energy, with what to me almost smells a bit of a powdery, clean note. I thought that was going to be it, but low and behold at about 6 pm, 9 hours after applying, I started to get the most WONDERFUL warm, woodsy, amber notes. I never seem to be able to pick out the notes that are reported to be in the fragrance pyramid, but that's what the I LOVE NY for Fathers journey was like for me. This, to me is the most complex of the I LOVE NY line. I love the I LOVE NY for Him, but it's more of a linear experience for me.

This is lovely! It takes me back to freshman year of college, 1997 for me, when every kid in the dorms got a sample of Cool Water in their welcome package. I didn't know anyone who knew better as far as perfumes, we all wore it, and we all eventually got sick of it. This, for me, is the tasteful update of Cool Water. I like it a lot. It's hitting my nostalgia button and smells lovely. Now, I haven't done a side-by-side, so take my opinion with some extra salt.

This is a bit mainstream. Sure, it is limey fresh and quite floral at first, but then this soapy clean lavender and Bond's signature musk come in and make it very wearable and less interesting. Fresh and musky enough for men and floral and sweet enough to please the women. Overall is nice but far less than stellar. If it were a lot less expensive, it'd be my go-to fragrance for everyday use.

Do not listen to the people this smells like Sag Harbor I miss this scent and it was masculine fir me. Sag Harbor smells very feminine and it smells like bubble bath from Replica line. I hope they bring back this scent it was my favorite bond no 9 until I smelled Bleecker Street.

My sample card reads "Easy to wear. Easy to love." I couldn't agree more with this. "I love NY for Fathers" is nice. There's nothing special about it that may justify its price tag. You've probably smelt this fragrance before, but way cheaper.

I get some weird and persistent air-freshener note in this and for some reason this reminds me of pickles, I bet it might be good on a man's skin chemistry, who knows.. 2 out of 10

A very nice scent with a relaxing soul; full of calming herbs and spices (basil, sage, coriander, lavender) and a lovely ambery and musky never ending drydown... Thumbs up...!!!

My dad is SO getting this for Father's Day from me. I can't wait to try it. It sounds just like something he would really enjoy. I hope! Haha. : )
