I Love New York for Mothers

I don't know why it's taken me so long to review this little-known gem but let me rectify that oversight right now. This is a beautiful floral! It is delicate and sensual at the same time. On my skin, it starts out with refreshing citrus and (even though it’s not listed as a note) pink pepper and nose dives straight to the floral heart where it continues to stay as vibrant through the dry down. It’s very well blended so I can’t pick out other notes besides Freesia, which is what this juice is all about. This is the classy floral note that dominates and wafts on me all day and it is just gorgeous! Projection is moderate and the staying power is close to 8 hours on my skin. Performs well in warm and cold weather. Since it seems to garner mixed reviews, I’m assuming that not everyone’s skin reacts to white florals the same so please do try a sample before you commit to the whole bottle. Highly recommended for those looking for a fresh, pretty, modern floral to wear in any season! Ps: I asked my mom to smell it on me and she said it was “very womanly and sexy” and then asked me the name of the perfume because she loved it. When I told her it was specifically named after “Mothers” for Mother’s Day, she grinned and said, “Well of course! That’s because this is like the real perfumes we wore back in the days, not the faint, fruity, copycat stuff they sell everywhere nowadays!” I had no response but a chuckle at that since my perfume wardrobe looks like a confectionery stand. Oh mom! LOL!

Love love love this fragrance... i smelled some of the I love NY line: the "Earth day" one (green bottle), the "marriage equality" one (white), the "love for all" one (black) and the dark pink one, i believe it's called "For her" and out of all of them, this is the one I fell in love with. It's the kind of perfume i love to smell: fresh, citrus and a bit floral. I got a sample of it at Sephora and want it so bad... I sprayed it on my skin this morning and can still smell it, 6 hours later. I just find it a bit expensive for my budget but i guess such a beautiful, long lasting fragrance is worth the money. This makes me so happy (i love how fragrances have such impact on our mood!) A+ but will get another sample to wear a few more days before i shell out $105 for a small bottle. @daisydukes- omg, i was trying hard to remember what this perfume smells like, was breaking my head thinking bout it for days until i read your review. That's it: Gain laundry detergent. Lol, same smell!!! I happen to love that smell so i like this fragrance but u got it right! Update: gave in and bought a small bottle. I never wear the same fragrance every day, i like changing how i smell like depending on how i feel, however, after i tried this beauty, i've been wearing it every single day. Highly addictive!!! Puts me in a good mood.

I love this one... soooo much! I bought it before I was even a mom and it’s been 7 (or 8...or 9??) years since I acquired the bottle and I still have it... i stilllove how it smells but I’m sure it’s not as fresh smelling as when I bought it but it hasn’t turned rancid on me or anything... I just wish I could find another bottle or another fragrance that smells similar... or almost identical! If anyone knows of a similar smelling perfume please let me know... somehow!

A very powerful, sharp floral. Most people dislike the sharpness of this fragrance but that is one of my favorite things about this scent. No it's not anything groundbreaking and yes you can find nicer florals for much less money. I just have a sample and I do enjoy it but not enough to put down that much money. But to be fair there are not many perfumes that would spend over $100 on.

The sample I have of this says 'easy to wear, easy to love' and I was a bit worried about that meaning it smells kind of generic. But when I applied it, it actually really is a very pretty, fresh, clean, and easy to wear citrusy floral. It's bright, happy, and feminine and I keep going back to smell it. I definitely get the tangerine and I'm guessing it's the freesia I'm smelling, but it's not overwhelmingly "white floral" smelling, just a light, sweet, delicate floral, almost the slightest touch powder even, and a lot of tangerine. I feel like the light pink and white coloring on the bottle is a good representation of this. It's also more softly projecting, smelling more strongly at about 3" away from my skin, but you can definitely still smell it. This makes me think of a nice sunny spring morning. About 10 minutes in, something is kind of making my tongue itch some from this scent. Not sure what it is, but there might be some sort of irritating ingredients in here. It's not terrible, but it's noticeable. 20 minutes later and it's still a bright, fresh, citrusy floral, though now leaning a bit more towards "white floral" some with I'm assuming the jasmine and maybe lily having come out more, but also I start getting some spicy sweetness from the sandalwood and amber, as well as a very nice, clean musky scent. Over the next several minutes, these notes come out more prominently and I do get the reference to a "men's cologne" smell some, but honestly it's not overly masculine. I smell it strongly within about 1" of my skin now as well. Someone said the first part of this scent smelled like Gain laundry detergent. I would say it's not as overt as that, but honestly would describe this as starting like laundry detergent, then turning into a men's shaving cream. Which again, it doesn't smell exactly like, but is a close enough hint to what it is, but still smells more refined and developed than that. 30 minutes later and it hasn't changed too much, but it has gotten quite a bit lighter. It's lightly projecting about 1" from my skin, and smells just a bit stronger on my skin, where it's clean and musky now. I'll see how long this lasts. 2 hours later and it's a light skin scent that's, again, sweet, clean, and musky. But it's very light and I really need my nose directly on my arm to get a slight hint of it even, and I did apply quite a bit. 5 hours later and it's basically gone, just the slightest hint left. Though honestly at around the 4 hour mark it was really starting to get harder to smell.

I was skeptical when I read "soft florals" on the manufacturer's card for Bond no 9 I LOVE NY FOR MOTHERS, but it smells mighty fine to me. I think that this entire series (this is the fourth I've tested) does live up to its slogan "easy to love, easy to wear." In the case of MOTHERS, the tangerine accord is just delectable--similar in some ways to LITTLE ITALY, only in this case it's only half the story. The other half is the floral bouquet, which to my nose is a great combination of not-too-intense white florals mixed with some freesia for balance. This stuff smells simply scrumptious. It does seem like a young fragrance to me, so perhaps it is best suited to young mothers? Or how about people who want a citrus floral with a yummy resinousness? Maybe I'll buy a bottle for myself and peel the label off. Tee hee...

A blind buy and not my usual kind of scent. (But it was 80 % off from a store that was closing so I couldn’t resist 🫣) It is not bad at all. Bright, clean, feminine, musky floral with sweet tangerine. Freesia, musk and tangerine are the dominating notes. It’s quite strong and long lasting for this kind of fresh floral. Nicely made but a bit to prim, proper and pink for me.

Very Beautiful and on the feminine side... Lovely sweet notes of tangerine, freesia, lilies and jasmine sambac take centre stage in this long lasting scent. The drydown is very similar to I love NY for Fathers with lots of amber and musky woody notes. Best worn layered with I love NY for Fathers; then you are really in a cloud of Relaxation... Thumbs up...!!!

The first initial spray is a fruity floral. I can definitely smell the blood orange. After that it basically dries down to a very soft skin scent. These are the components I smell: -A beautiful, soft white floral. I can't distinguish the type of white flower. But it's soft and pretty with a bit of sweetness. -There's a little bit of a green scent mixed in. A very small amount, that just gives it a freshness aspect. -There's some spice, it gives it a good kick, but it doesn't overwhelm the floral scent. -A little musk, a very clean musk. Overall, it's a fresh spicy floral on my skin, which is honestly not for me. However, even though I personally dislike it, I can definitely see how a lot of people will find this scent appealing.

I had a complimentary sample sitting there one day, I was bored and out of blotter strips so I thought "Why not?" Spritz-spritz, rub....eugh, nail polish remover and straight up isopropyl stinging my nose. Wait, I thought, it's just the top note blast, it will calm shortly. It didn't. The oatmeal and milk bath was lovely though it took some scrubbing to get this stink off me! I'll save it in my sample trading box. I have heard people say they like very crisp cologne scents and some who like the very modern synthetic smelling scents that stay sharp and have some lasting power and heard of people who like scents similar to the alcohol and polish remover though. They should try it.

At first when you spray "I love New York for mothers" you get very feminine, fresh -but also very strong- notes of tangerine and flowers. I don't think this scent is soft at all. It's very fresh, floral and even a bit sharp, but not in a soft way, in a strong way. I agree, that this scent is for younger people and it certainly is a very unique and longlasting scent. On me it lasts for hours. However when it dries down it developes a very masculine feel to it. To me it smells alsmost like a fresh men's cologne, not feminine at all. But maybe that's just my skin chemistry..;) Like, but not Love :)

Heard alotta good things about this one now come to find out ;D it’s available at Wal-mart ;D and nO wonder why. The good things said are more to do with a memory or some sentiment, usually re: their mother than having to do with the ACTUAL SMELL ;D. Well great ladies cuz guess what the actual smell stinks! Wore late fall could not get rid of sample Quick enough. Seems to LAST so that I can’t freshen up if i wanted to. Had this sample for 5 years AT LEAST, wore 1/4 years ago and now just got gung ho bout getting rid of it, took me 3 days and that’s even with over spraying thank God gone!

Be careful with the trigger on this one, unless you want others around you to be running for cover. For a while I thought this would be a Love, it is a very VERY light and pretty floral. The tangerine and freesia make a beautiful opening, but in the dry down, although I do still like it, it becomes VERY white flowers prominent, is a little screechy, and DEFINITELY gave me a headache. I get the Nolita reference, but I can't wear that at all (full on nausea inducing), this is MUCH lighter! It's worth a try, but def sample first if you are prone to white flower headaches!

I don't wear florals. Like, never... If I were going to wear one, this would be it. On the initial spray the citrus notes dance around, then I get the lovely creamy freesia and jasmine. I just put it on about 30 minutes ago, so I don't have an idea of the dry down yet. Nicely done, Bond.

I should really like this one , there isn't one of the notes in it that I dont like. It is just too soapy for me . I guess I finally know what you guy mean when you say soapy.

Fresh cut grass, hairspray, and the color hot pink. That's the smell here from first spritz to drydown. Long-lasting too!

I've been wanting to write a review on this for a week, but every time I think I've nailed this scent it gives me something new. Citrusy, fresh, not too sweet or syrupy...A great introduction to the house of Bond. Here's a few things about it that I've found: -Upon first spritz it come off very laundry-detergent like, mixed with citrus. That's my favorite of this scent to be honest. Smells great. I can see how people would call it soapy. Not that it IS soapy on me, just that I've caught increments of fresh soap on me. Wish that lasted throughout the life of it. -After about 30 minutes it dries down. In a sense, I do smell a cologne-like vibe from it. But it still remains fresh, with that sharp floral in the background that keeps it 'clear.' But it's final scent reminds me of my arms after I hug a man with too much cologne on. TBH, kinda bummed about that. I wish the opening stayed with me. I've been wearing it for a couple of weeks and haven't gotten any compliments on it. But lasting power is phenomenal for the scent category it's in. It gives me a solid 6 hours, with 3 of those presenting sillage as well. Would I repurchase? Not sure yet. Do I recommend? I think there's better out there for the kind of money this is asking for. It's marketed as a mom scent, which I am, but being a soft, delicate mom (as it claims) isn't what I get from this.

@daisydukes, just this does remind me of a laundry detergent a little bit, but can't really tell if that is gain. This is a really good musky/cedar scent. I love the musk here its like my second skin, usually if I hear musk I run for the hills. I also get some very light citrus and hints of sandalwood. maybe the musk was mixed well with jasmine and jasmine agrees with me way too much, however, I do not pick up a distinct jasmine note on this. Also cedar is not listed as a note but I thought the musk has some cedar qualities in this perfume, really reminds me of eccentric molecules 01 and D&G light blue. For the price tag, just not so sure if its worth it since the scent is not as complex as the other bonds I had sampled. However, this does project well and last long, I only sprayed a tiny amount on me this am, and just had less than 1ml sample and I think there is still some remaining on my vial but I can really get good whiffs of the fragrance.

I am torn on this one. It has a VERY prominent tangerine note, which lasts the whole time. I love tangerine, so I really enjoyed that! It's perfect for warmer weather. The drydown is gorgeous, but what I'm having trouble with is the top and middle notes. There is something extremely sharp in there. I'm guessing it's the freesia or the jasmine? That one note is not agreeing with me at all, but it could just be my body chemistry. Otherwise, it's a really pretty fragrance. If you like tangerine, give it a try!

If they'd just rebrand this and redo the packaging the NOT mothers would prolly like this more, if 'Gucci Envy Me can still be in a display case damnit make room for this one. But too late.. Bond has named almost all of their fragrances after every street and sidewalk in NY.. I'm still astonished when people can even remember the names to the color bottle in harmony. "The slightly less chartreuse, but more highliter yellow bottle.. "

This review is for the lotion...er sorry "body silk" that I got at T.J. Maxx for $12.00 tonight! Beautiful floral with a "heady" poke to keep things interesting. The ingredients seem very natural and nuanced . And I mean this is for THE LOTION. LOL. I can only imagine how the real deal smells! The longevity is really good for a LOTION! GOOD for a "blind buy". Smells like EASTER !

Finally tried it today. It's definitely my fav from the I Love NY line so far. Just delicious! I LOVE the pink bottle! SO pretty in person. I'm going to have to get it for my mom. If she doesn't want it, I'll keep it for myself. Haha. Bring on for Fathers and for Marriage Equality next! : )

Gosh I don’t understand the hate! This is a very gorgeous floral on me that I think I now want! It is floral and tart like Delina is but this one is not as extremely sour as Delina. I will update a little later after more time. I love the tangerine in here- mouth watering.

This fragrance is so close to Nolita. It’s missing rose and this has Jasmine instead of Jasmine Sambac. I enjoy the profile of Nolita, so this one has me curious about it. I’m gonna have to get a sample and do a side-by-side comparison.

Cool white florals with a lot of sweet citrus. Refreshing but a bit cold seeming. Unfortunately doesn't last long. A very pleasant, natural scent good for daytime wear. But not very special for the high price.

Why do so many Bond's have the "peepee" note on me? I bought a sample lot of this because it sounded like it would be a love, but sadly it is not. Maybe someone else will enjoy...into the swap basket it goes

this is simply horrible ,nothing interesting but soapy sweet synthetic flowers that give just headache 3/10

The dry down reminds me vaguely of J'adore. It's nice.
