Saks Fifth Avenue for Her

I know I don’t have a collection of 500 perfumes like I’ve seen some users on here have or more, my collection is tiny in contrast with about 50 I currently own, but if I’m pretty sure even if I had a collection 10 times the size of my current one, if I had only one frag to wear for the rest of my life, like a deserted island situation, where you can bring xyz, this would be my pick. I’ve been wearing it for the past 12+ years and only regret is I didn’t buy the larger bottle, I think I got the smaller of the two, but due to the many other frags I own, it’s not something I wear daily. But it is my go to when I’m on dates, and nights out for sure. I know it’s been discontinued and people say the gardenia one has taken its place and it’s supposed to be the same, but haven’t tried it yet as it’s HTF at my local department stores, only recently saw it but no tester. I read the review beneath me and really hope this isn’t the case, but with todays perfumers constant reformation, newer bottles, etc, it wouldn’t surprise me and despite not smelling the newer version, I kind of assumed it would never be the same. This frag can be worn all year long, mind you I live in the northeast, but I find myself wearing it maybe only a bit more in the summer than I do in the dead of winter. Its one of the reasons I have the kilian beyond love on my wish list for so long but have only found a couple on eBay that were ridiculously expensive and overpriced, at least for a frag I’ve never smelled, so no thanks. I am ordering a sample of the Killian one this week, but even if I love it, I doubt it will hold a candle to this. This has superb staying power, as well as silage, it projects in the best way, not overpowering but not faint, it’s perfect. I’ve always loved gardenia perfumes, though imo, Chanel’s vintage edt gardenia (pre 2016) and van cleefs GP are my two fav gardenia frags I own. I don’t think of this as a gardenia scent though, to me it’s got tiare and the most tropical Gardenias, mixed with a fresh bubblegum kind of tuberose in the best way, and coconut. This is creamy and smooth, it smells expensive (as it should for the price). I also owned the body cream and the candle, and snapped up another candle last year during Black Friday for 10 or 15% off, which still was expensive AF but I love this scent. I didn’t realize until last fall that it was discontinued and wasn’t able to snap up a backup saks bottle. I called them and asked if they could check every store if there was one in stock but got no leads. I know it’s at least $75- 100 more than when I originally got it, but it is one of the few perfumes where I’d be able to justify its high price point, as I feel it’s so unique, classy and sexy at the same time, it’s such a gorgeous scent. Side note, in comparisons, I’m surprised to see that the bond Central Park west is the first one to show up, followed by beyond love, and THAN the newer supposed “same perfume, different name” bond gardenia. I am sure I smelled cpw before as I like the bottle, but the only other bond perfume I ever bought was park ave south which the sales rep turned me in to. A totally diff vibe, but perfect for fall and winter. Both of them have amazing longevity and silage, not skin scents which I’m not into, I prefer my perfumes to make some noise, not whisper. What’s more is when you wake up the next day after sleeping till noon at your lovers place and getting dressed in the same clothes, still smelling divine. I’ve been told “I can still smell you on my pillow (as a compliment) why aren’t you here?” It’s truly a masterpiece and as mentioned, if I had only one scent to pick and wear for the rest of my life, this would be it.

Opens as big waxy gardenia with a sneaky, slightly mentholated accord which I find so addictive. It isn't enough to clear the sinuses by any means, it just teases the nose a little. This menthol-like aspect must be a characteristic of certain types of tuberose. I get the same effect in the opening of L'Interdit edp. After a little while it becomes more tropical, with an even balance of tuberose and grapey jasmine, where the gardenia takes a back seat. The grapiness is so prominent it actually smells like Concord grape juice at times when it hits my nose and remains as a key facet from top to bottom. Another addictive quality about this fragrance is its floral spice; tuberose spice I will call it. Vanilla makes it creamy, sweet and voluptuous. Just a bit coconutty. It smells lavish and expensive. You can smell the quality. As a tropical floral lover, Saks For Her is my kind of thing. I adore this gorgeous creation. It's a fairly simple, high quality fragrance with personality & class. Projection is above average and lasting power is outstanding! It doesn't change much from initial application to disappearance. It has the same high perfume oil concentration that most Bond #9 do. The base sticks around on my skin 36-48 hours. It's incredible. When my skin gets wet the next day, the scent reactivates and I'm able to catch little whiffs until it's scrubbed away. It stays creamy and dreamy, a softer version of the opening until I wash it off. Lasts weeks on clothing. An absolute stunner. I disagree with the similarity votes to CPW. Both have gardenia and both have that Bond no 9 base, but they smell very different. CPW's narcissus and spices make it sharp, not creamy, a bit old fashioned smelling. CPW has a lot of yellow flowers and can be headache inducing. Saks is smooth and Mellow with all white flowers and no harsh edges at all. Simpler, but so much better imo. Something to consider if you were hoping to get a good "dupe" out of CPW. Unfortunately, I don't think a more affordable option exists. I bought a bottle. Edit: It's safe to say Saks was my most loved and most frequently worn fragrance in 2021. Summer heat, autumn rain, and now dead of winter I still can't put it down. It forms to the weather in a special way and doesn't get lost in the cold, making it fitting all year long. Additionally, I've never in my life received so many compliments on a single fragrance. Ever. I don't tend to keep track of who likes what or how often I receive compliments, but it's become almost comical at this point that I can't not take note. I've yet to hug someone while wearing this and not be told, "wow, you SO smell good!" For that reason I think it's a crowd pleaser even among non-fragrance enthusiasts who think they don't like white floral perfumes. It seems to wear moderately close to my body so someone has to get in my personal space to smell me. It's possible it travels further and I'm not the best judge of that, but noone has mentioned smelling me beyond arms length and I do prefer it that way. 💞

My mother-in-law had this unopened perfume sitting in a box for 10 years. Her friend gave it to her for her bday but she used to be loyal to only one perfume for many years “Red Jeans”. I’m nosy so I wanted to smell it. OMG!!! This was love at first sniff! My entire world changed. My first words were this is what angels probably smell like. This perfume would be PERFECT for a bride. I have never smelled a tuberose before and this was pure magic. Imagine very unique creamy delicious white flowers. Just enough sweetness and freshness. When I sprayed it on myself and my clothes, the trail was heavenly and longevity was eternal. Once I saw how much it costs I had a seizure lol. Then once I saw it’s not on Saks website anymore and some bottles go for $1000 on ebay, I lost it. My potential signature perfume was out of reach. So I started looking for dupes. I smelled so many perfumes with tuberose, jasmine and gardenia , but none of them would be this creamy , mostly just green and headache inducing. Gucci Bloom, L’Interdit, My Way, Florence by Tocca . None of them could compare. Then I found Love Tuberose by Amouage. I bought it immediately!! The notes were the most similar. It’s a nice perfume but the opening is a bit too sharp. However, after 30 min it smells very similar to Bond no9 Saks for her (but still not the same). After 6 months I casually checked on my desired perfume and OMG found it hiding on their official website. It was an accidental finding. I was so happy and paranoid that it will be discontinued, I bought 3!!! Around that same time I went to Saks to check out Bond no9 counter and the only perfume that was missing was my favorite one. However, the sales associate showed me Bond no 9 Central Park West and I was absolutely shocked bc it smells SOOOOO similar to Saks for her. So in case you can’t find it your options are Central Park West and Love Tuberose by Amouage. In conclusion, if you can get your hands on it, smell it! It’s intoxicating and one of a kind. It doesn’t smell like coconuts! I hate coconuts. Now I need to make sure Bond no 9 never discontinues it or I will start a riot.

I just just picked-up this RockStar and I was absolutely BLOOOOOOOOOOOOWN AWAY- blown away Ladies & Gents! How and Why so...?!?! Weeeeell, I was actually shocked that no one noticed the incredible similarities between this one and Fire Island. I could sworn when I opened it something was wrong. I thought to myself: “what the heck..., I got another Fire Island....., or maybe Bond No. 9 mislabelled their packaging...”?!?! Trust me guys, that wouldn’t have been such a bad thing, because if you’ve ever ever read my reviews fir Fire Island, you’ll see it’s a big time love of mine! They KEY ingredient! That Majestic Tubereuse. All hail that Regal note.... 👑👸 I honestly don’t have very much to say about this one right now, because it’s Brand-Spanking new and I just took it out of its gorgeous Bond presentation. Right off the bat with those two sprays on the back of my freshly-washed hands, I realized this is Tubereuse Heaven! Later on, I’m going to pick this sweetie apart and dissect it alongside Fire Island🔥, because their similarities are “incroyable” as they say in French! I can’t wait to chat more about this rich, elegant, dense and almost buttery-sweet Tubereuse..... I’m the kind if man that’s haaaaard to please when it comes to a top quality Tuberose scent. I’ve been spoiled...!!! I have sampled and own the QUEEN of Tuberose fragrances and that Queen is none other than Carnal Flower. Over the years though, let me tell you right now: If Tuberose/Tubereuse is your catnip, then PLEASE PLEASE don’t sleep on these other three: Heeley BubbleGum Chic, Fire Island and now THIS beauty- Bond No.9 Saks For Her...!!! I tried this (and loved it) early in my tuberose "discovery phase." I'm revisiting some I decided not to purchase now that I've "discovered" A LOT. Even though I initially loved this I decided to skip a bottle because it was both too similar to Lys 41, which I already have, and not quite as enjoyable on me. Also with my chemistry it wears more as a waxy gardenia (with a strong tuberose back-up). Revisiting I still think these hold true~ Also, for a white floral the projection is fairly low. It's lovely, but I think it's getting downgraded to a Like....but that's more based on my personal tastes vs the composition. It's a very pretty, slightly waxy gardenia dominated soft, not overly sweet, tuberose. There's absolutely no coconut on me, I think the waxy gardenia reads as coconut/sunscreen with some people's chemistry. If it was EVER available second-hand or on the grey market like so many other No 9's are I would still probably pick it up; but it will stay a pass at MSRP <3 Edit: revisited in 2023, after discovering even MORE, and it’s one of my all time favorites. Simple but perfect.

This perfume threw me for a loop completely. If you don't like it at first give it another sniff, you'll change your mind. I was dying to smell this because of all the great reviews and when I got to Saks I hated it. I went to Saks yesterday and gave it another shot and this time it was like MAGIC. I'm convinced the tester that I sprayed the first time was expired. There has to be a coconut note in here because on my skin I get this tropical pina colada vibe with fresh beautiful white florals in the background. Imagine walking on tropical island with a neck full of leis, sipping a pina colada with sun kissed skin; that's what this smells like. My best friends always goes with me to sniff perfumes because he's a fragrance junkie as well. About an hour after spraying the perfume he crossed my path and said "Omg! that fragrance is so enticing." And that's after one spray. My fiance's words smelling this was "OMG". Keep in mind this is VERY strong so a little will go a long way.

This was instant love for me. To my nose I immediately get a blast of sweet, almost grapey, tuberose. Seconds later a VERY lactonic gardenia joins the tuberose. It's so creamy it almost gives the impression of coconut. This sweet tuberose/lactonic gardenia combo is what lingers on my skin for the duration of the scent; it's pretty linear on me. But it's GORGEOUS. It definitely feels tropical or a bit beachy, but it doesn't smell like sunscreen to me. The vibe is similar to Carnal Flower... they smell different of course, but there's a similar tanned skin, tropical flowers gorgeousness. On my skin i get about 3 to 4 hours out of the scent (lasts longer on clothes). That's the typical amount of time any floral scent lasts on me. Sigh. But this one is too good; I have to have it. FBW for sure!

A co-worker was given a vile of this perfect and heavenly scent. I tried it and instantly fell in mad love. I dabbed just a little on my wrists and behind my ears and the scent stayed with me all throughout the day and the next morning when I showered, it still floated off of me just as it hit my skin the previous day. I have always had a soft spot for Tuber Rose and Gardenia but all fragrances I have ever tried were too strong for me and gave me an instant headache. Not this one. I am on a cloud, floating absest mindedly, or on the beach in Kauai, almost falling in love with MY SELF! hehe. I will be wearing this all Spring and Summer and probably next Winter as well. If you want to feel ultra feminine and beautiful, I highly recommend this one.

This is the scent that launched my tuberose obsession. All I had was a tiny little vial, and it was so dreamy. When I returned to Saks Beverly Hills to inquire about the price, and was told it was $80 (back around 2009), I made a mental note and sadly slunk away, as my personal assisting job wasn't paying me enough to allow for that splurge. A couple weeks later, my boss sent me down to Barney's Beverly Hills to pick up a different perfume at the Frederic Malle counter, and I started talking about different scents. Then I was introduced to Carnal Flower, and without hesitation, plunked down about 3x what I didn't pay for the Bond no.9 Saks for Her. I still loved that vial. One of these days, I'll get a full bottle, hopefully.

I bought this because it was the best selling Bond fragrance this summer at Saks and I thought well, the masses can't be wrong! They weren't. It is one of the Bond fragrances that just smells good and doesn't try too hard to be something it's not. The odd thing about this scent is that there was a perfume made by Avon that smelled almost exactly like it which really made me smile because this is so pricey. To my nose this is a dead ringer for Avon Mark White Vetiver. They both smell lovely and have a young vibe to them. I think it's the vetiver that somehow makes them similar. Anyway, I love this fragrance but I did find it interesting that it smells similar to an old Avon fragrance that was marketed to teens.

My favorite from the Bond line so far. Haven't tried them all (I've tried many) and this one stood out from the rest. Creamy, dreamy, ultra feminine, just beautiful. Starts out sweet and mellows out to smooth gardenia, jasmine and vanilla. I think the smokey notes of vetiver keep it from becoming cloying or too floral. I don't really smell any coconut in this, but maybe the vanilla notes give the impression of coconut, as I think they sometimes do. I'm wearing this today, in the dead of winter, I've worn it in the fall, and plan on wearing it in the summer, feels appropriate for any season. I've gotten so many compliments when I've worn this, one person told me I smelled so good they could just eat me!

This is what heaven smells like, sigh*! To me this hits the nail on the head and is the closest most lovely homage to the intoxicating tuberose! Trapp makes a candle that is truer still, but they do not produce personal fragrance unfortunately. So delicate and sweet but still has that authentic bite that others either lack or over do. Saks is gossamer and floating while Fracas is heavy, round and shiny. To me Fracas smells unpleasantly artificial and linear and miles away from this! Saks is the ingenue to Carnal Flower's wordly albeit reserved lady. There is one huge problem though, it doesn't last on me. Pure heart break.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this scent! I got a few vials of Bond No 9 scents as a gift. At that time, i never heard of the brand. I remember loving all the scents but this one is the most memorable to me because i always got compliment when I wear this. I think they have changed the name into DNA now, cos the one named Park Fifth Avenue on their website has different packaging the last time I checked. I definitely will buy the full size once I get the money (which would be a while bcause its so expensive and not available in my country) :(

So happy I finally got this. I had a paper sprayed in my bag for 3 months and forgot about it. Then opened my bag again and the whole bag smells like the most luscious bouquet of white florals! This is a perfume that sings an aria. It is gorgeous and it blooms and blooms. I'm currently laying on a bed of white florals. This 3.4oz bottle will last me until the end of time as 1 spay will go a loooonnnngggg way. It's definitely an evening fragrance but screw it I will be wearing to the office.

Bond No 9 does it again! My boyfriend gave my mom this perfume for Christmas and it is absolutely gorgeous. One spray was enough to fill the entire room with an intense gardenia and tuberose smell. Once they tone down you can also feel the jasmine and a tiny hint of vanilla in there. It is definitely not sweet, but it is very floral. It feels creamy and makes you feel comfortable and calm. One whiff and you feel like you're in paradise.

This smells INSANE. I took one whiff of it in the Bond counter and seconds later I was whipping out my debit card. I just cannot describe how good this smells.....and to top it off i'm a guy who wears this. I must admit you have to be very confident as a guy to pull this one off.....and im a very confident guy lol.

A narcotic creamy truly SWEET tropical tuberose with fleshy coconut like gardenia leaves me hypnotized in a way I cannot fully explain. This scent is eyes roll back good. 💕🤪 Full bottle worthy. (this one rivals my love for By Kilian Beyond Love)

This is my signature scent. It was amazing two years ago and now it sort of gives me a headache.. Just spray a little. I've never gotten so many compliments on a scent in my life.

This was given to me as a gift and I have always loved it. Not sure why but it has a coconut summer smell to me although there’s no coconut.

O..M..G!!! This is DIVINE! Such bold white florals are perfectly blended with the vanilla and oakmoss. UH-mazing :o)

This is a soft, very creamy unsweetened white floral bouquet fragrance. The florals rest on a base of coconut. It's gorgeous! I don't smell much vanilla but the fragrance doesn't need it because it's perfect on its own. It's not powerful but it is quite heady and narcotic. This could definitely be a signature scent. - This does in fact remind me of Fracas, Tuberosa by miller harris and Sabbia Bianca. For me Gucci Bloom has a totally different vibe. GB is sweeter with much more jasmine and is devoid of the coconut that makes Saks so special. Oh my, I can't believe I forgot to mention its similarity to Tubéreuse Vertigineuse by Molinard. TV smells like a Saks dupe. TV doesn't quite get the creaminess of Sak right and TV is a lot more harsh but it's sweeter so I prefer TV over Saks.

Wonderful white florals, rich, creamy -- some sort of coconut note created by the combination. Last well, good for day or night. Also good for all seasons! If you love white florals -- and you're going to have to love them to enjoy this one -- this is a great option! Get to a Saks and try it out!

Lovely buzz for a white floral lover! Gardenia with a capital G! Good sillage, longevity, and potency, just as you would expect. I also get coconut and a hint of some kind of tropical fruit, and am surprised not to see them noted here. Big thanks to CL for the lovely samples!!

It has a rancid coconut smell on me too! I like it though because I feel as if I'm at the beach with flowers nearby. Wouldn't buy it though.

The first 10 minutes of this are SO good--it starts out with such a creamy, juicy burst of gardenia, jasmine, and vanilla. But it dries down in like 15 minutes to something that, to my nose, reads as a very nice coconut sunscreen. The problem is that I already have the perfect coconut sunscreen fragrance (DSH Beach Blanket), which is fuller and more textured on the dry down. But boy, if that opening burst lasted for at least a couple hours, I would probably buy this. Edit: After a couple more full wearings, I actually kind of love this--while it lasts, that is. The coconut sunscreen portion retains just enough of the white florals to be really beautiful and it lasts pretty strongly for about 4 hours, then disappears on me. If it weren't so crazy expensive, I would probably buy a bottle.

I was not expecting this to be gardenia coupled with plastic notes and rancid coconut suntan oil. I don’t see why anyone would deliberately make a synthetic rancid coconut accord, so in all fairness, the rancid coconut could be massoia oil, which does smell that way. Fortunately it doesn’t get into the remote sillage too much, leaving that as mostly a thick, heavy gardenia and/or some other tropical flowers. I really can’t imagine why Saks Fifth Avenue would smell like a bad dream about a gardenia-infested wedding outdoors in the beating sun, with all the guests greasing themselves up from an ancient bottle of suntan oil found under a counter in the bathroom, oil spilling onto their fine clothes and their gardenia corsages and bouquets wilting in the heat. After reading some other reviews, I see that there’s supposed to be tuberose in the mix, but it’s completely overpowered by the gardenia and coconut. Just a tiny dab produces mega-sillage. Eventually the tuberose does make an appearance, in its sour-washcloth guise, but the other notes are still there, vying for center stage. Two hours in, the coconut fades away, leaving gardenia and tuberose to fight it out. Of course the scent doesn’t know when to quit, hanging around all day, but after the first few hours it’s a fairly tame gardenia scent. If you like florals, especially gardenia, and don’t mind an opening with an odd coconut note, Saks 5th Ave might be just the thing for you.

Testing from a 5ml. sample. This is nice, but tbh, reminds me too much of other perfumes in the same genre. Heady white florals, with a buttery or bubblegum tuberose note. Lys 41, Sabbia Bianca, and McQueen, come to mind. While I don't care for Sabbia Bianca, finding the dry down too synthetic and screechy, this didn't go there but I found the dry down almost as rough. I'm not a fan of vetiver base notes unless there is another note to counteract the sharpness that sometimes happens when vetiver is used alone. I didn't like the base of McQueen either, (though I adore McQueen Eau Blanche), for the same reason. Unlike others here, I am not picking up coconut or getting sunscreen vibes, though I so hoped I would. While this is somewhat linear, it does perform great, and literally lasted until I washed it off. If you have nothing else in your wardrobe like it, this might be one to consider. Since I already have other perfumes like this that I like more, like Lys 41, McQueen Eau Blanche, and especially Versace's Blonde when I feel like wearing a buttery tuberose, this is a fb pass for me. Edit - I got a drop on my hand as I was sharing a little of this for a friend here and Michael Kors (original fragrance) instantly sprung to mind. Very similar to me.

The first time I sampled this, it was so animalic (civet, specifically) that I immediately had to scrub it off. Nearly a year later, I sprayed my sample again. Opening is still harsh, but I detect some BEAUTIFUL white flowers, a chalky, dusty vanilla. As it dries down, it reminds me of a much less sweet Love Tuberose and Truth or Dare. Still chalky and dry, finally turning to powder. Gardenia powder. I love gardenia. Yet, I can't bear to hold my arm to my nose for more than a second at a time. Interesting! If going by notes alone, I'd have assumed this to be a no brainer, but something is way too sharp and too strong for me. I tried this a third time. Finally I got creamy vs powdery dry down, but it was no less aggressive. I can imagine how lovely this is when it works with one's chemistry. Darn. Looks like I'm saving money.😜

Gardenia + Jasmine + Tuberose = too much of a good thing. Too, too, too sweet. Ridiculously sweet. This type of thing has to be cut with citrus fruits or mellowed with something warm. The vanilla and vetivert are so overpowered, they are as good as not there. Goes right up the nose to the brain. I have to admit, I'm not a huge white flower perfume fan, and I do not understand the philosophy of white flowers being combined together. I like all 3 as single notes separately, but together? No, thanks. (Personally I love magnolia, but no one ever uses it.) Louis Malle does the white flowers experience better IMO. When you have 3 scents that linger high on top for the life of the scent, it's beyond harsh, and can easily be cloying. The "En Rose" version of this is much better, softer ... and MUCH quieter.

This was not at all my cup of tea. I purchased it twice, thinking that I must have missed something the first time I owned it (when my nose was less experienced) but no. Apart from tuberose, there was an intensive greenness and oiliness throughout the composition that made me dislike it time and again.It somewhat smelled stale yet grassy, tuberose and oily coconut layered with green stems and leaves. Good sillage and longevity.

This reminds me of Beyond Paradise, only withouth the deapth - I only get gardenia. But also without the extreme soapy-ness. It is really long lasting, even where I got it in my palms. But it is not a strong scent. I put on (accitdentaly) quite a lot, and I still do not "reek". It keeps close to the skin.

Why does this perfume smell bad on me? Maybe it is the vetiver. There are only 4 notes in this but for reason of body chemistry, this does not work on me at all. I am compelled to wash it off after 10 minutes. Too bad- I'm glad it is only a sample.

I got this in the post the other day and I could smell it before I took it out of the package. I just knew that this was going to be a big fragrance and it is! This is a HUGE white floral, so if those aren't your thing, you might want to stay away. For me, I usually can't handle large doses of tuberose and gardenia, but in certain perfumes I can. This one, luckily, I can handle the dosing, which kinda surprises me. The gardenia/tuberose mix is sweet on me, giving it a gourmand vibe; the vanilla adds to it a bit. I don't get any jasmine on my skin; the gardenia and tuberose overpower it. It's somewhat weird how it develops on me; starts off with sweet gardenia, then turns a bit spicy, tuberose mellows it out a bit along with the vanilla. I almost get a medicinal bubblegum note in there and I'm sure it's the way the notes are mixing on my skin. I'm not complaining; I think it smells unique. I think can be worn in spring, fall and winter; it might be too heavy for summer, but it sort of reminds me of a Florida beach for some reason. Bottom line: if you're into heavy white florals with big sillage, give it a sniff. If not, then pass. For me, it's actually a winner that has pleasantly surprised me with all of it's "white floral-ness".

Funny. I don't remember dousing myself liberally with Fracas this morning. And yet, that is precisely what anyone who gets withing 10 feet of me thinks has happened. Tuberose, yes. Gardenia, dear God, yes. New, different, interesting -- hardly. This fragrance has tremendous sillage, and is incredibly long-lasting. A light (I swear) splash on wrists and cleavage was easily detected 10 hours later. It is heady, feminine, rich, and lush. I suppose that my negative comments stem from my disdain that that this fragrance all ready exists in the marketplace. Did I mention Fracas? Yes, I know, Fracas isn't the only tuberose/gardenia creation out there. There is EL Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia, Tuvache Island Gardenia, Chanel Gardenia, Giorgio Armani Gio, Gerlain Jardin de Bagatelle, to name a few. But Saks for Her is a dead ringer for Fracas. And yet, Fracas will remain on retailer's shelves gathering dust, because the average consumer seeks out the new and different, and, in this case, spends big money when the newly offered is neither new nor different. Fracas will go overlooked next to the newer, splashier imitation of it. Pity.

Those who headed to Harrods on a quest for flowers but found themselves surrounded by endless belts and bags would do well to mosey on over to Saks, Bond no 9 SAKS FOR HER, to be more precise. I always knew that amongst Bond no 9's dozens of offerings there must be a BWF (big white flower) fragrance, and in SAKS FOR HER I have found it: tuberose, gardenia, and jasmine commingling amicably along with a touch of vanilla-tinged vetiver. I find the tuberose to be dominant in the opening, while gardenia and jasmine become stronger in the still slightly sweet drydown. Although SAKS FOR HER is a good Big White Floral fragrance, with the characteristically superlative sillage and lasting power of that genre, there's nothing really new here. I do like the bottle design of SAKS FOR HER quite a lot, but the contents do not beat out the best of the competition in this cup-runneth-over category. For sweet tuberose, I'll continue to turn to FRACAS and, for less sweet gardenia, to MARC JACOBS.

I bought this for my wife after we smelled it. Yeah , Yeah you say it smells like other Gardenia and tuberose scents out there and their's nothing new. I disagree. What is different to me is that it doesn't smell like an old lady after the dry down. My wife and I have been to Hawaii many times and this is what the flowere smell like there and as she wears it it stays smelling fresh all day. Men and women both stop her and want to know what she's wearing. I have witnnessed this when i'm with her too. I gat a chuckle because that's the impact it had on me the first time i smelled it. It's a scent i don't get tired of on her. So she's on her second bottle now and she recently purchased the bodylotion too. I think this one's my favoite hands down. Ladie's if you want something to attract the guy's this is your scent.......worth every penny.

This is an exceptionally beautiful fragrance—one that initially stopped me at the Saks counter. I was so taken by it that I tracked down the matching body butter at the Bond No. store in SoHo to complete the experience. Tuberose is the defining note here: bold, creamy, and unmistakably prominent. What drew me in was its distinctiveness—there truly isn’t another fragrance on the market that smells quite like this. That said, my relationship with tuberose has changed. For reasons unrelated to the fragrance itself, I can no longer wear scents where this note takes center stage. As a result, I’m selling my barely used, like-new 3.4 oz bottle, along with the matching body butter, for $400. If you appreciate tuberose in its full, unapologetic form, this is a standout set. I’ve loved Bond No. 9 Saks Fifth Avenue for Her for many years. I’m once again so happy to have it in my collection, too. Yes, it’s very similar to Robert Piguet Fracas, but it’s not Fracas. It’s also different from Bond No. 9 Central Park West. CPW is a neon white floral with yellow florals, whereas Saks is a creamy white floral, very suntan lotion in Nice or St Tropez. It’s like Robert Piguet Fracas and Yves Rocher Monoi Eau de Vahinés combined. I love both. But I really love Saks. However, would I say the current (significantly increased) price of $460 is worth it? Probably not. 12 years ago the price was pretty decent, but I’m glad I have this now regardless. The other thing, I wish Saks Fifth Avenue for Her had the same projection and longevity as CPW.

Update ......Wife is on her Third bottle. And still getting tons of compliments from men and Women everywere. It's still the best fragrance to me. Maybe this scent dosent work well with other peoples body chemestry is why they don't care for it? It wprks for my wife and it's her favorite hands down. So if any one like White floral scents ...this is the one.....smells modern and smooth.....not Old/vintage and pongent. Only thing is it is expensive the 50 ml bottle used to be 150.00 now 180.00 and the 100 ml bottle is 250.00 so it make more sense to purchase the 100 ml Expescially if you like it and can afford it. Reactions that men and women have to her when she wears it, make it worth the $$$$.

A lush, dense tuberose/gardenia scent. Very rich and creamy on my skin, but not different enough from other tuberose/gardenia heavy scents to make it worth the price. Still, that being said, it's truly well blended for someone with my chemistry. And Carla is right: the touch of vanilla in the dry down really makes for a lovely ending. The white florals almost always go into mothballs on me and this doesn't, so it gets points just for that. Downside, I don't care for big white florals, and this is most certainly one of those. Would suck on a hot day, though. This is not the scent for humid climates, as lovelylavender so astutely points out.

I am a die hard tuberose and gardenia lover. Unfortunately, this perfume reminded me exactly of the scent of Aussie, purple hairspray that I overused in the 90s. The top notes blast you with a synthetic , grape smell combined with an overly sweet version of gardenia & tuberose. It quickly fades to a more tart version of Fracas & dries down to wimpy version of powdered gardenia. There is no creaminess or butteriness involved in this gardenia mix. It is quick to become overly sweet & headache inducing. There is not a strong enough base note to anchor this scent & you end up with top notes that are over -played with a syrupy sweetness.

I could smell this from the spray nozzle without spraying it, and that's when I knew this would be so beautiful, so I sprayed and I smelled the most beautiful Tahitian Tiare Flower mix, similar to a monoi oil with gardenia. I was pretty much convinced I was going to buy this and enjoyed this gorgeous white floral for the first 5 minutes, but then it started smelling similar to sweet tarts on me...which ruined the initial experience of getting Tahitian tiare flower, which I couldn't smell any longer... and 2 hours later, POOF, gone without a trace. Test on your skin first!!!!

Signature worthy , creamier and smoother than the votes smell alike, Central PW. Has a coconut vibe and is so sexy and alluring. One of my favorites perfumes and def my favorite bond 9! Stunning Gardenia and tuberose note, melds into your skin and stays with you all day.

After purchasing this fragrance and wearing it for a few days I must say this is a runaway hit in my book. I'm guessing this is a yellow Italian gardenia because in this blend it is totally mellow, a pleasant surprise because gardenia's are often known to be poignant.The opulant jasmine creates the right amount of sweetness and the vetiver brings it down to an earthy, warm feel with it's evident essence of balsalm and amber. The dry down of the sensuous vanilla make this a notable New York scent worthy of wearing.

For me this starts out with something that reminds me of dried rose potpuri. Then it smells like a very sweet 80s suntanlotion. After that it turns into something else that I can't name, but it is like a alien, supersweet, bitter, powdery, medicinal scent. There the developloment stops and I try to bear it as long as I can. After 40 minutes it has become a little softer, but then I can't bear the smell and have to go to wash it of.

Beautiful sweet perfume. The sweetness remind me a little bit of Annick Goutal's Le Chèvrefeuille. One dab, and it goes all day long. It blend nicely on my skin, but not in my hot and humid country. This one is for a young modern women, wearing a well dressed suit, going to the office on the cold day.

This is heavy on the gardenia and smells JUST like Sand & Sable. It's not bad, it's just not special and is way overpriced for something that has a dupe. *edit* I had my four year old son take a whiff, his reaction: "Smells like medicine."

I get the Gardenia....lots of Gardenia in all its rich, spicy goodness. Reminds me of "Sand and Sable", but a more opulent version. Too heavy for summer, but good for spring! Nice, but not FBW in my opinion.

Get this if you like floral scents. I dont know why people say this is a coconut-vanilla, it smells nothing close to that and very strong in terms of its floral elements. Does not work on my skin. 5/10.
