So New York

Only three notes?! Really? It seems much more complex. A woody, bittersweet chocolate mocha gourmand scent. I can't help but remember the best mochas I've ever had--the way the frothy milk caresses my lip and prepares my taste buds for the flavor of the bittersweet mocha. The chocolate in So New York is very light, like the dusting of bitter cocoa powder on top of the best tiramisu I ever had in my life. It was in Venice. The bitterness of the cocoa powder made my tongue pucker for a second until I tasted the mascarpone and espresso-soaked sponge cake. Gosh I'm hungry! I feel subtle hints of vanilla, amber, woods, and maybe even the teenciest hint of floral. There is a musty earthiness here that reminds me of patchouli. But I don't actually think it's quite musty enough for it to really be patchouli or to take away from this being a gourmand. I get more of a true coffee scent here, like a light French roast, than I do in New Haarlem, which is mostly like sweet maple syrup or some kind of instant coffee mix that doesn't actually smell like coffee beans. I really love that this is edible without causing a toothache. The perfect unisex gourmand. The only problem is that it only lasts 5-6 hours on my skin before I feel the need to spray again. That's why I got myself a big ol' 3.3 oz bottle, so I can spray to my heart's content!

I'm puzzled by the strongly negative reviews on here, and I really don't think this fragrance deserves so much hate. The only negative I see with So New York is that it isn't very long lasting, which given its retail price may be seen as problematic. Other than that, I love the how it smells. I don't get much coffee here (being a coffee addict, I need a strong roasted coffee note to identify it as coffee in a fragrance, the smell of a latte doesn't count), but I absolutely love wearing this chocolate - mirabelle combo (I will agree that there's patchouli in here too, most likely). Super yummy and cozy for the winter. I don't even mind having to respray during the day, since I'm stuck at home most of the time anyway during the pandemic. To me, this is a comforting, stay-at-home type of scent that you wear mostly for yourself, especially if you're a fan of sweet, edible fragrances (I'm usually not, but with So New York I'm sold).

the scent is really gorgeous, it's in the line of Mancera Rose and Chocolate, however I fall in love with the Mirabelle plum note in this. While Mancera really gives off chocolate coated rose, Bond no 9 So New York moves upscale, and I could totally see Saks Fifth Avenue while wearing this. Bookishbeauty was right, other site lists these notes for this perfume: Top: Bergamot, Osmanthus, Mirabelle plum Middle: Espresso, Patchouli, Milk, Muguet, Peony Base: Woods, Tonka Bean, Musk, Cocoa Powder And I do hope that Fragrantica would correct it. However the problem with this perfume is it's performance, the silage is just moderate, and within 4 hours or so it turns into a fleeting skin scent... Such a downer, I hope Bond will add more concentration on this one, because like I said above, the smell is gorgeous.

I know reviews on this are mixed, but personally I love it - it is a beautiful scent, the dry down is to die for! (I have been wrist sniffing for hours!). I get all the notes, but on me they blend seamlessly. I don't know why, but I really do get Givenchy Ange ou Demon vibes (alot!), but where as the latter is as subtle as a punch in the face, So New York is much lighter, quieter, softer, and just wearable anywhere if you want to feel uplifted and 1000 dollars! My only knock is that the opening is just a bit louder than it needs to be (and reminds me big time of 70s NYC for some reason), but it dries down in just a couple of minutes. It really is just gorgeous!!

This is a plum chocolate delete with this fant powdery aroma that is seductive and inviting. Can't actually say overwhelmingly that it leans more towards female or masculine fragrance side of the pendulum, I can say in my opinion it's straight down the middle. I can see where the fragrance has that powdery note in it, but it's a different time in fragrances, to were if done correctly it works for men also. I love plum so i'm a little biased, but dammit it's so front and center how this fragrance opens, and the sweet coco is great together as a sweet plum chocolate cake.
