Candy Dust

I am baffled by the negative reviews of this fragrance. Is it crazy unique and cutting edge? No. And while yes, the brand in general markets itself to be super unique and boundary-pushing, I don't think this fragrance in particular was marketed that way. This fragrance, and the whole Eau Intimite collection for that matter, is advertised to be their more wearable collection. And frankly, I don't think its a negative thing for the house to have some fragrances that will appeal to a wider audience. Candy Dust wears close to the skin, but I do get good longevity. I can kind of see what the below reviews mean about it being a basic fruity floral scent, because it is a sweet and likable fragrance with no crazy notes that BTSO frequently includes (see Skatole in Be My Cookie). But in my collection of 40+ fragrances and having smelled most everything in Sephora, I haven't smelled anything quite like this one. The dragibus gives a sweetness that makes this more unique than the typical designer fragrances you imagine. The raspberry starts out tart and zingy but mellows out through the wear, and you are left with an airy, sugary, cotton candy fragrance for hours on end that is incredibly addictive. This one is a love for me.

Sweet raspberry marshmallows with a yogurt cream texture and soft powdery dust. There's the slightest, and I mean a pinch, of clean laundry dryer sheet in the far background but overall this is an easy going, girly scent that is sweet and light enough even for warm weather. I do think of some other affordable or designer scents out there but Candy Dust manages not to avoid being too powdery, too candy sickening sweet, too soapy clean, too sheer, and too heavy. It's the perfect interpretation. No one including myself has complained. Good price too. Wish I bought this first instead of Cuvée Skin, also from BTSO intimate line. Perfect for the clean girly girl. When it's too hot for Kilian LDBS Extreme but I crave that style of sweetness, this is the summer appropriate and less powdery version that can still be worn year round as a lighter and close-quarters alternative.

To me, this is a perfect fragrance. Some people may think it’s boring because it smells simply like expensive candy, but that’s what’s great about it. It’s so perfectly balanced the simplicity can be overlooked. A lot of people here are comparing it to cheaper brands, but this perfume has nothing unpleasant or weirdly sharp like those. This is truly a perfect candy scent. Also the longevity is great. I sprayed it on my wrist in the morning, my dog came and cuddled me and I smelled it on him all day.

I didn't love this upon first try, I honetsly quite disliked it and thought it was too sweet, too sharp and too fruity. Thankfully, I tried another day and tried on skin. From a dislike, this one became a love. it just sits so well with my skin chemistry. Like people say, the dry down is simply this gorgeous sweet/sour candy powder with a tartness to it. It is lactonic but yogurt like and it does have a faint laundry scent. I trully like this

Something I can see being my signature scent ~ goes so well with other scents to add that warm sugar vibe. Not sooo light at all! it is what it says and more, milky sweet warming, and musky !! ugh i love this smell so much, i got it in one of their set and this is one of my favorites! I can wearing right after i shower and I give off clean girl vibes, I want to buy the bigger bottle but it is rather pricey ;P Love the brand

Not crazy about the opening at first, but I really like the dry down. It's description does not resonate with me at all, definitely not a "warm gourmand". It is sweet but has a sharpness to it, so I don't think it is a good blind-buy. For some reason it reminds me a lot of the Good Girl dna, maybe just a touch sweeter and lighter.

I have the travel size in this , and definitely love this . Its etheral sweet clean. I will get a big bottle once my travel is done, and thinking this may layer well with Ari Cloud Aurora

It smells quite similar to powder love by JHAG. More powdery and less soapy compared to powder love. Yes I find powder love to be soapy. A tad bit sweeter. All in all I prefer it to powder love, airy, not too sweet. It also has a hint (maybe 5-10%) of Yara candy in it. It is a like for me. Great for layering. I do get some of the milk note in the background. It leans sour for me. It smells good upclose, but in the air it smells somewhat synthetic. Prefer it in the dry down. Not worth it, for what it costs. Should have gone for a travel size.

This is nice but nothing in here is wowing me. It’s very likable. I was surprised the alcohol is so heavy upon first spray so minus a point for that. It goes away pretty quickly. I can only really smell the pear and sugar but all the other notes seem blended pretty well to create a very likable scent. I would say it’s a safe blind buy as it’s very designer smelling. Nothing different or unique to my nose, so I won’t be buying a full bottle.

A pretty good take on the Pick 'n' Mix sour candy style fragrances. This is tooth-achingly sweet, youthful, girlie, fun and nostalgic. Easy to understand but possibly not that easy to wear unless you are a teenager. I don't think I'm the target demographic but if this is your kind of thing, it's a great example!

Surprisingly I get a designer vibe from this, I was expecting something similar do Angels powder but it’s actually a pleasant sweet pear fragrance. Nothing mind blowing but very pretty and wearable. I am shocked as BTSO has very unwearable fragrances, this is different

it smells like the packaging of candy after you eat it. slightly sweet smell but not too strong, like the aftertaste of something. airy sugar but its very pleasant for a candy gourmand

This is quite sweet, fruity. I don't really get anything milky here. It's nice, but you can get this in a body mist from Sol de Janeiro or Bath & Body Works.

It smells great, but also pretty simple. I could find the same scent at Bath and Body Works for a fraction of the price.

Not really a true candy scent but it is pretty light sweet -ish and airy. More on the powdery side.

this is very pretty fragrance. i enjoy it. but honestly, nothing screaming unique or different about it. i’m not hard to please with sweet/gourmand fragrances really, but i was a bit let down with her :( the initial smell in the air, on paper and in the first maybe 15 minutes of being on your wrist the smell is amazing. like the name says, candy! delicious and a bit laconic! but as it dries, it loses all of those notes and ends up being a simple vanilla and tonka bean. which is fine! but i own a million vanilla/tonka bean/gourmand fragrances i was hoping to find something a little more on the sweet side as it is summer. along with this, the longevity has also been nothing special. i heard good things about the longevity for this brand in another fragrance but for this one don’t look for something that will emanate, this sits very close to your skin and dries very weakly :/ a little sad about this one but a good basic on the bright side.

This fragrance is just ok. Nothing special or memorable. Someone mentioned nail salon smell & I can totally see it. I wouldn't pay top dollars for this when there are so many other sweet middle eastern fragrances that smell better & cost a fraction of this (Atheeri, I am looking at you).

I can tell there are other notes in here, but I really just smell this as nondescript "sweet." An ambiguously-scented corn syrup. It's relatively light and airy, but artificial and extremely boring. I suppose this is what people mean when they say nothing is grounding the fragrance.

It’s nice, yes, but you can get the same scent profile for much, MUCH cheaper. This has been on my Wi$h Li$t for a while and I expected something more unique because of the brand.

didnt love the drydown... its okay. smells like a real sugar powder at first, then i start to notice milkinesss and it becomes more cloying

After trying this fragrance, I have to say it really doesn't live up to what the brand promises. For a house that claims to be pushing boundaries and breaking norms, this feels like a pretty safe and honestly, forgettable release. The scent is flat and linear, without any real development or intrigue. In a blind test, I’d probably guess it was an Ariana Grande launch rather than a niche brand trying to make a statement. It feels like they’re working overtime to sell something ordinary sweet as if it’s bold or unique, but there’s nothing here that really stands out. Just a lot of hype without the substance.

I concur with amorellalaura. Candy Dust left me rather disappointed. I had anticipated a nostalgic aroma of carnival candy filling the air, but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. BSTO’s new collection is quite disappointing.

One of the stronger options from the Eau Intimité line, but leans very feminine opposed to unisex. I applied a single spray before I went to bed. It was still detectable and recognizable by morning. Smells like tart raspberry, dragibus and a warm fistful of crushed Smarties. Slightly floral in the final phases, but unmistakably gourmand. I actually really like this fragrance house, but this fragrance in particular feels very juvenile. The Eau Intimité line as a whole feels very safe and introductory. So far, all fragrances in the transparent bottles have felt unnecessary. They are not bad fragrances, but prior to Eau Intimité BTSO already had an extensive and very versatile collection.

It’s becoming harder and harder to tell the difference between niche perfume and something you’d find in a mass-market body mist or all those Arabic fragrance tsunami (lataffa, parisian corner etc) The lines are blurring, but the prices certainly aren’t. I keep asking myself: why would I pay $120+ for 30ml of something that smells so familiar, so vaguely pleasant when I’ve encountered the same vibe in countless cheaper scents, some of which cost under $40 for 100ml? There’s an expectation with niche brands especially one called born to stand out with a founder working hard to make us believe he is so edgy to push boundaries, to offer something distinctive.

I actually bought this because although I've had and tried hundreds of perfumes, I will always love Ariana Grande ones the most and I saw reviews comparing this to hers. Sweet Like Candy is one of my favorites, and I can say this isn't anywhere as sweet as any of hers or comparable to SLC, but it is nice. It's kinda like you're as far away as you can get from a cotton candy stand at a fair but you can still smell it. In the dry down, it also comes across sort of aquatic to me. If anything, it reminds me of Skylar's Boardwalk Delight without the coconut, and a little bit sweeter, with a more burnt sugar

This smells like getting a lollipop after a dentist appointment and I'm kind of here for it honestly. Not too sweet but sweet enough for you to go "Mmmm" (shoutout Juliette Has A Gun). Funnily enough, as "unwearable" as BTSO usually is, I find this softer, more toned-down one to be unwearable also. Mostly because it's such a specific smell I think it could become offensive. It doesn't smell bad by any means, I just wouldn't consider it a scent a human would wear if that make sense.

when btso realises a new perfume from the edp or extrait line u all say it’s “unwearable” , “who wants to smell like that” blablabla, and when it comes to this line which is “wearable” u guys are saying it’s boring and not nish :D i see the uniqueness and weirdness that the brand has in the notes including moss , milk , dragibus which blends super cool and creates a nostalgic candy scent ..so get a job and pls shut the f up about this brand if you do not understand the idea

this is the second one of the discovery set i tried and im unimpressed. although it smells very nice, the opening is so similar to gucci gorgeous orchid and then it dries down to be almost exactly like btso’s angels powder. i think angels powder has a bit more of an edge to it which i really love while this is a more linear sugary and airy cotton candy, reminiscent of 2000s body sprays. its not terrible, but its uninspired and redundant within its own house

Smells like a slightly milky and nicer version of Kylie’s Cosmic and Sweet by Ellis Brooklyn. Long lasting and unoffensive. It’s cute but smells like something Ariana Grande or Kylie Jenner would create (but better) but not exactly something niche.... needs an exotic or unexpected accord to add some depth. Would be good for layering maybe; but still fun.

Probably the most surprising release from BTSO that I’ve smelled so far because it doesn’t have the house’s signature DNA. While not unpleasant, this smells like many other fruity florals on the market and could easily sit on the shelves of Sephora. It’s not the unique niche kind of fragrance you expect from BTSO.

Sweet cotton candy made creamy and lotion like. Feminine leaning but I don’t mind rocking it from time to time with a much more masculine fragrance. Its nothing new or mind blowing. To me, this smells like 70% Carioca Heart and 30% Wavechild. It’s decent and good for layering. Overall 7.5/10.

You have to try it for yourself as is with any fragrance. I really love this fragrance. It’s sweet and musky and slightly creamy without being overly juvenile! I really love it for summer.

Reminds of bathroom air freshener at like a nail salon. All I get is the raspberry, other than that it’s super flat and one faced. This brand has been super underwhelming.
