Gold Juice

ENG: I first tried mango when I emigrated. We’d buy them sometimes in Ukraine once we had money (when public transport cost 5 hryvnias), but they were all Turkish, rubbery and green, and it felt like biting into a winter tire if you bit into one with the skin still on, or crunching raw potato if you peeled it. Then in emigration I bought an expensive, truly ripe mango. A big healthy one, a whole kilogram, soft but still firm. Like a large, excuse me, woman’s breast. Very heavy, the kind that pulled toward the center of the earth, but pulled pleasantly. That’s probably how a bag of money pulls toward the ground too—pleasantly. Before Gold Juice I bought another fragrance, also competing for the title of best mango in the world—Spiritica Mango Macumba. Nothing is more perfect than these two mangos, though they’re completely different. Mango Macumba has this suspense where the mango sort of recedes into the background, as if you got caught in a trap in the jungle and you’re hanging upside down from a mango tree. But in Gold Juice I smell nothing except mango magic. There’s no durian, nothing disgusting. Just some warm aura emanating from the skin. The mango here is honeyed, the kind that splits at the seams in your hands, and golden juice runs down your skin. An erotic mango, truly intimate. This fragrance is a home fragrance. It’s very good on a warm radiator. And in a bathrobe after a shower. A gluttonous scent, too luxurious to share with anyone else. What you’d call indulgent. So this isn’t a scent for school recitals. This isn’t stupid Gucci Flora, where you have to get drunk in a sequined dress and pass out on the couch at a party. This is an indoor fragrance, like a houseplant. This perfume, my intuition tells me, is precisely for those lucky bastards who rarely need to crawl out of the house. For remote workers and pregnant women. Especially for the latter, it seems like a blessing, because if you mix this mango with the smell of milk porridge or just milk (maybe even the rubbery-condensed kind like in Bianco Latte), it’ll be pure heaven. So this is a mango that’s not wild but domestic, yet still slightly unhinged. RU: Я вот манго впервые попробовала в эмиграции. Манго макумба имеет такой саспенс, что манго как бы отходит на второй план, как если бы ты попалась в ловушку в джунглях и висишь на манговом дереве вниз головой. А в Gold Juice я не чувствую ничего, кроме магии манго. Нет там ни дуриана, ничего отвратительного. Только какая-то аура теплая исходит от кожи. Манго здесь медовый, такой, что в руках по швам расползается, и по коже течет золотой сок. Манго эротичный, действительно интимный. Этот аромат — это аромат домашний. Ему очень хорошо на батарее в тепле. И в банном халате после душа. Запах чревоугодный и слишком шикарный, чтобы делиться им с кем-то еще. Что называется, indulgent. Поэтому это не запах в школу на утренник. Это не Gucci Flora дурацкая, в которой надо обязательно напиться в платье с паетками и уснуть на вечеринке на диване. Это аромат комнатный, как цветочек. Этот парфюм, как мне подсказывает интуиция, именно для тех везунчиков, которым редко нужно выползать из дома. Для удаленщиков и беременных. Особенно для последних, кажется, это как благословение, потому что, если смешать такой манго с запахом молочной кашки или просто молока (может, можно и резиново-сгущеного как в Bianco Latte), то будет просто рай. There should be some kind of filter in place to block people, like the 2 below, from making ignorant comments about scents they haven't tried. Imagine knowing absolutely nothing about how perfumes are constructed and judging based on 1 single note. There are dozens of possible interpretations of how a durian accord could smell based on the composition, so it doesn’t have to be stinky. Edit: After trying this, this is a mass-pleasing, delightful tropical scent and it is indeed completely lacking in any putrid or stinky accords. The particular accord in durian many people associate with an unpleasant odor is not in this. Instead the perfumer managed to isolate only the best qualities of durian: you get the creamy, tart custardy quality here, a luscious, fresh fruity (slightly sour) scent with warmth from the solar notes, and a slight floral hint in the background. It is a summer banger and would sell more if the price point was a bit better and this was EDP instead of EDT. Longevity of 1-2 hours is expected for an EDT, and projection is moderate. The point though is, if you comment with such emojis about a note in a fragrance you haven’t tried that isn’t even detectible, it still contributes to bias for many people, leading to a negative impression that isn’t warranted.

Agree with previous reviewer, it is creamy and juicy! And creamy not is some lactonic way. Just beautiful, very tropical and fruit forward. If you are into really fruity scents, likely you will love it. Mango is the most prominent, with durian being present too, but in a most delicious and not annoying way. I do not really get much floral or woody notes. But solar notes and caramel are there. I get some prominent saltines, but you know how when you eat some delicious ripe fruit (or e.g. honeydew melon) and there is a touch of saltines? So it is like that with Gold Juice, making it smell like very realist fruit and balancing the sweetness perfectly. In no way it smells like some marine salty scent. I know BTSO Eau Intime line may sound like it's going to be weak and with poor longevity (and I really need my perfumes to last!), but later I learned that they are marketing it as " Each fragrance is built to live like a second skin, a soft veil that is transparent and understated yet surprisingly potent. It stays close, melts into your warmth, and reveals a quiet power that lasts far longer than it seems with effortless intimacy" and I cannot agree more, lasting power is exceptional!

The fragrance makes an impression from the very first seconds 🤩 It’s voluminous, airy and truly filled with sunlight. The opening is bright and cheerful! Juicy-sweet mango blends with a creamy note that likely comes from the durian. Rhubarb adds a delicate tartness, refreshing the fruity accord and creating a pleasant contrast. In the heart of the composition solar notes and soft flowers begin to shine. Osmanthus brings a velvety, fruity-floral nuance, while white flowers add purity and softness. Everything is beautifully interwoven without overloading the pyramid. The base is gourmand yet very delicate. Light almond, soft caramel and subtle woody accents from guaiac wood add warmth and longevity without making the fragrance heavy. Overall, this is a joyful, well-balanced and versatile scent. Airy, moderately sweet and as radiant as a sunny day in the tropics. It’s a perfect choice for warm seasons and for those who are looking for a fragrance with a cheerful vibe and a fruity-gourmand character.

this nails it's namesake. it opens with a very realistic durian scent, like fresh cut. no "stink" just extremely fresh. it's hard to describe. then that fades to an extremely pleasant mango that isn't too sweet at all. very mature, sexy, and elegant without being overtly musky or any of those notes a lot of perfumes rely on to convey that. really captures the sort of gold chain on bronzed skin during a sunset vibe. it smells like you need sunglasses lol. I have a few mango scents and a few durian and this is by far my favorite for both. could have a slightly stronger sillage like others from this brand but I understand how being composed of a lot of top notes that's difficult. but that makes it re-apply friendly! and I'm excited to layer it with my rice scents. (not sure how well it would work with their rice scent tbh seeing as it's not 1:1, but cleaner 1:1 rice scents will be perfect for a mango sticky rice accord)
